Icemageddon and Icecrete

For ten days, acres and acres of land and forest have been encased by thick ice which refused to melt; and it was not just the intense cold that accompanied it. Even when the sun shone, nothing was melting; even chunks of ice off the deck refused to melt with a flame. The pristine ice turned black, yellow, and looked like icecrete.

No animals dared to trek this glacial landscape shining in the daylight and at night like reflecting glass. It was seven days before animals dared to venture on this Icemageddon surface in search of food.

Al Gore just celebrated twenty years since he released a Power Point presentation on global warming which garnered him a Nobel Prize. Earth had twelve years before Armageddon and ice in Antarctica would be melted. Gore’s presentation said polar bears would not have ice floes to float on while looking for food and would die off. Bears have multiplied, ice is thicker than ever, and we are still here.

The global warming alarmists tried their hardest to convince the “deniers” that global warming exists. When it failed, they morphed it into climate change industry.

Dr. Happer, Professor of Physics at Princeton, among many other real scientists who do not rely on fake science called “consensus” to make faulty predictions, testified before the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on February 25, 2009 that “over geological time, we’re really in a CO2 famine now. Almost never have CO2 levels been so low as it has been in the Holocene – 280 ppm (parts per million) – that is unheard of. Most of the time CO2 levels have been at least 1,000 ppm and it’s been quite higher than that. Earth was just fine in those times. The oceans were fine, plants grew, animals grew fine. So, it’s baffling to me that we’re so frightened of getting nowhere close to where we started.” He added that, “children should not be force-fed propaganda, masquerading as science.”  Happer said, “the increase of CO2 is not a cause for alarm and will be good for mankind. Earth in Carbon Dioxide Famine, Says Scientist - The New American

Reality did not stop global-warming alarmists to promote incredibly wasteful and expensive “carbon sequestration” and carbon “cap and trade” schemes to reduce CO2.

CO2 increase will benefit crop yields, more food for humans and animals, robust forest and vegetation growth, greater plant resistance to stress and disease, drought resistance, and reclaiming deserts and barren lands.

Green houses use extra CO2 pumped into solariums to promote faster and better plant growth. Satellite images show that CO2 is thicker around the Amazonian forests.

Is CO2 responsible for warming due to greenhouse gases? Scientists agree that “at least 90% of greenhouse warming is due to water vapor and clouds.” And the current warming period started around 1800s at the end of the Little Ice Age, “long before there was an appreciable increase in CO2.”

“There have been similar and even larger [global] warmings several times in the 10,000 years since the end of the last ice age. These earlier warmings clearly had nothing to do with the combustion of fossil fuels. [Warming can be influenced by solar flares, volcanic eruptions, and oceanic currents.] Over the past ten years there has been no global warming, and in fact a slight cooling. This is not at all what was predicted by the IPCC models."

Happer said, “The earth’s climate really is strongly affected by the greenhouse effect, although the physics is not the same as that which makes real, glassed-in greenhouses work. Without greenhouse warming, the earth would be much too cold to sustain its current abundance of life. However, at least 90% of greenhouse warming is due to water vapor and clouds. Carbon dioxide is a bit player. There is little argument in the scientific community that a direct effect of doubling the CO2 concentration will be a small increase of the earth’s temperature-- on the order of one degree. Additional increments of CO2 will cause relatively less direct warming because we already have so much CO2 in the atmosphere that it has blocked most of the infrared radiation that it can.” Microsoft Word - Happer Senate Testimony - SPPI Reprint update - 6-14-10

Is the push to reduce CO2 more an effort to fleece the taxpayers? Is the Green lobby’s agenda to create a crisis that only they can solve? Are solutions more destructive than the crises? Are they brainwashing students to promote their agenda? It appears so.

Massive geoengineering efforts currently in progress around the world aim to block the sun with various substances to mitigate global warming. Scientists believe that this activity is most damaging to the planet.

Controlling, reducing, and capturing CO2 produces the science that creates most funding for professorial research and promotion. But, with less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the earth will be colder, covered in more ice, and home to sparser levels of all vegetation. A reduction in food supply due to shorter growing seasons would spell disaster and potential famine.

With little regulation, the climate change industry is happy to capture carbon in pipes. On February 22, 2020, a CO2 pipeline ruptured and exploded in Satartia, MS, following heavy rains. Two hundred people were evacuated and forty-five were hospitalized; cars stopped working in the absence of oxygen, emergency vehicles could not start, and people were unconscious on the ground for a while. Heavy CO2 spewed for four hours. A pipeline rupture in Satartia, Mississippi has lessons for future CO2 projects : NPR

Large CO2 volume sucks oxygen out of the air. People and animals become disoriented, the heart malfunctions, seizures can appear, and eventual death by asphyxiation.

CO2 will disperse in open air but, in the Satartia incident, it remained for hours. To this day people have lung problems and other health related issues.

Coincidentally, a week prior, the Biden administration had announced $251 million for various projects focused on CO2 transport and storage. In 2020, 5300 miles of carbon capture pipes existed, with future projections of 65,000 miles. Billions have been invested in helping companies that collect CO2 to store it by sending it via pipelines to underground locations with the correct geology for storage. A pipeline rupture in Satartia, Mississippi has lessons for future CO2 projects : NPR

Another poisoning with massive CO2 happened in northwestern Cameroon at Lake Nyos on August 21, 1986, following a limnic eruption which released 100,000-300,000 tons of magmatic CO2. The eruption killed 1,746 people, 3,500 livestock, and injured 845 more people in an area of sixteen miles around the lake.

According to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, there have been 112 CO2 pipeline accidents on record. Ten states have had carbon dioxide pipeline accidents and Texas had the most.  Carbon dioxide pipelines: A statistical analysis of historical accidents - ScienceDirect

How many CO2 accidents must happen in the name of carbon neutrality?

U.N.’s war against climate “deniers” ramped up at the U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP30) held in Brazil in November 2025.
The Declaration at this conference was a pledge to ‘fight false information’ about climate change. The only problem is that the U.N. is disseminating ‘consensus’ science. which is not real science.

CO2 is the Gas of Plant Life not a Pollutant

CO2 gives life to our planetary flora. One can observe from space that CO2 encircles heavily the Amazon rainforest where the trees are quite thick, hence its nickname, the gas of plant life.

For decades, the United Nations and its environmentalist NGOs mushrooming around the world have pushed both global warming and global cooling, painting different Armageddon pictures that would influence young and old to take drastic steps in their lives.

As people remained suspicious and skeptical of predictions, the U.N. morphed global warming agenda into the climate change agenda when its catastrophic predictions did not pan out. However, one variable remained in place, the gas of plant life, also known as carbon dioxide (CO2). Without it, no trees and plants can survive, and both animals and humans are in serious peril.

The climate change industry has become quite profitable and has managed to brainwash and convince entire generations, adults and children, that CO2 is a dangerous gas and we must do everything in our power to reduce it and even bury it in pipelines across farms in order to save planet Earth from self-destruction allegedly caused by CO2.

Radical climate alarmists, propped up by dishonest scientists on the payroll of the Green Lobby and environmental NGOs, have been successful in engaging in misinformation, sensationalism, climate activism, and fearmongering, presenting climate fiction as climate facts.

The Green Lobby of the climate change industry has been quite powerful and well-funded thanks to taxpayer dollars and the tech industry. The technocrats have silenced the opposition on social platforms by removing posts and adding warning labels of “false and misleading” on factual scientific articles.

To protect the Green Lobby’s fiction of manufactured climate crisis, anyone who does not buy into their fairytale of global warming is labeled a climate denier.

Basing its claim of global warming on U.N.’s climate models, the Green Lobby focuses its work on the fact that people believe the green mantra of “science is settled,’ and few dare to contradict science. Yet science is not settled, it changes continuously. And we cannot depend on computers to accurately describe climate and accurately predict future climate events and temperatures.

Climate models do not’ work because there are too many factors that influence the climate – the sun, solar flares, the earth’s orbital properties, oceanic currents, clouds, especially those of the geoengineering variety, and the soil, water, and air pollution.

The Green Lobby’s simplified equations are manipulated in the direction of a desired outcome. If they want to show that the earth’s temperatures will rise by two degrees in an x number of years, then the appropriate numbers will be input to create that result.

This climate fiction has been taught to our students across the nation for many decades and has driven the Green Lobby’s energy agenda and environmental policies of governments at all levels.

One of the most damaging policies has been to convince the public that CO2 emissions are a pollutant and must be stopped immediately regardless of the economic cost.

The 2.3 pounds of CO2 that each of us exhales daily is not a pollutant. Neither are the billions of pounds of CO2 expelled by terrestrial and marine mammals annually. If viewed from space, a lot of CO2 is visibly clustered around the Amazonian forest because trees need it to photosynthesize nutrients.

In our planet’s history, periods of warmth were correlated with great prosperity and plenty of food while periods of cold are dominated by low crop yields and starvation for both humans and animals.

There is no “social cost of carbon.” There is an actual benefit from more carbon in the air, not less.

Science has found benefits from increased CO2:

1.      Shrinking of deserts and greening of the earth seen clearly on NASA satellite data from 1982 to 2009

2.      Declining of extinctions

3.      Declining of natural disasters (severe weather-related deaths have declined since the early 1900s), according to the Center for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters

4.      Longer growing seasons caused by modest warming.

The only way to stop the Green Lobby’s damaging narrative of the climate change industry is to stop the indoctrination of children in schools about climate alarmism and to restore science-based education to the curriculum. Fearmongering should have no place in the classroom.

Technology Aims to Enslave Us

Americans are losing their country and freedoms incrementally. Things are melting down while they are lulled into a false sense of security with the help of technology. They are content if there is food in the pantry, gas in the car, and plenty of sports on the blue screens.

It started with the scare of global warming. Fear mongering has convinced society at large that our planet is in peril and, to save it, we must reduce the levels of CO2 drastically if we expect to survive. When the dire predictions from various billionaires, their paid talking heads and activists did not pan out, the globalists changed their tune. Global warming turned into a very profitable climate change industry.

Climate change activism and fear of planetary Armageddon brought more EPA regulations, fines, and directives from the unelected bureaucrats at the U.N. who met yearly in opulent locations, traveling in the much-maligned fossil fuel cars and flying in private or commercial jets, while telling us to drive tin cans or bicycle to work.

Then they introduced solar panels and wind turbines to create inefficient and insufficient electricity; then 15-minute cities were created to isolate humanity in large clusters of high-rise living spaces with the convenience of being five minutes’ walk from everything and no parking garages for cars.

If you own a car, you are given one hundred times a year to enter and exit through approved gates, after which you are fined for using your car too much. The idea of such 15-minute cities brings back memories of living under communism and of the poor Chinese locked up in their high-rise apartments during the forced lockdowns in China in 2021, sick, without food and medical treatment, and without any possibility of escape.

Then expensive electric cars were introduced to replace the “evil” fuel combustion vehicles. The problem is that electric vehicles are not dependable for long distance driving and for freezing weather and are still quite expensive for ordinary Americans who work for a living.

Finally Artificial Intelligence (AI) arrived and the push for its exclusive use to replace humanity and the push for digital currency while humanity is promised a living wage for which they do not have to work (how attractive), they can just stay home, easy to control, and AI will do the work for them. What could possibly go wrong?

“As AI systems become more advanced, they will start to infiltrate various sectors, beginning with white-collar jobs and eventually expanding to blue-collar industries… This shift could lead to a situation where businesses simply do not need human employees to maintain and increase profits… One widely discussed solution to the potential job displacement caused by AI is Universal Basic Income. This concept involves providing all citizens with a regular, unconditional sum of money to ensure they can meet their basic needs, regardless of their employment status … the primary means of earning a living is no longer necessary for many.”

The problem with total technology is that it created a “technocracy” of corporations and governments with the aim to control everything and everyone with digital ID systems whereby corporations and governments would have the extraordinary power to “track, monitor, and control every aspect of our lives” – healthcare, money, wealth, travel, transportation, education, work, and social interactions.

Bill Gates, one of the evil forces behind forced vaccinations, digital currency, and AI said, “Digital ID must be accepted by U.S. citizens by 2028. Otherwise, they risk exclusion from society.” His outrageous statement should give pause to every freedom-loving American.

Digital currency, once fully implemented, will monitor what you spend your money on, how much you can spend, tax all your earnings, punish you with the Chinese Social Credit Score if they deem that you did not behave appropriately to their liking; banks and the government will close your account and confiscate your money at the whim of a bureaucrat or an AI program.

The main drive right now is the establishment of data centers everywhere; without them, the AI cannot operate fully as intended. Each data center needs at least ten acres of land, and lots of water and electricity. The leftist solutions to replace fossil fuels and electricity generation from coal? Invest in more “renewable energy” of wind and solar. Shortages and higher costs of water and electricity are soon to follow. Processors for AI consume a lot of energy and water.

How will your life be different from feudal slavery or communist slavery? You will have no control over your life at all. Corporations will dictate what you can eat, think, do, read, what products can be made, how much food you can have, your clothing, housing, medicine, travel, etc. Life will be sad, no hope, no freedom of choice, no creativity, no dreams, no future.

President Trump’s AI advisors and digital currency technocrats have convinced him that AI and digital currency are the answer for everything. However, without confidential information kept private, a cash money supply, and inviolable private property, there is no freedom.

The Climate Change Industry Is About Population Reduction Not CO2

Big Tech, Mainstream Media, and the Green Lobby are working together to achieve the same goal; it is not real science, and it is serving the interests of a few power-mad individuals who want to reduce population to numbers they are “comfortable” with by any means necessary.

Predictive climate models used as scientific “consensus” don’t work. Real science is not based on “consensus,” it is based on facts that can be proven correct time and time again.

Climate models don’t work because climate is a very complex issues due to the fact that there are so many factors that influence climate – the sun, the oceans, volcanos, the clouds, the earth’s orbit, and pollution made by humans in various activities.

Climate models eliminate factors that might skew their predetermined results and create simplified computer equations that can be manipulated to yield the desired results in order to prove their predetermined narrative. The input data are carefully chosen to create the desired and chosen output of the Green Lobby.

Every climate prediction of the Green Lobby in the last 30 years has been wrong.

-         NASA scientist James Hansen advised the public to be ready for long, hot summers, and more and more regional droughts in the 1990s. Temperatures would be 6 to 7 degrees hotter by 2050, the strength of hurricanes would increase by 50 percent, and the oceans would rise by 1-6 feet, “putting the islands of the nation of the Maldives underwater by 2018.”

-         Pentagon told President Bush in 2004 that “climate change was going to destroy us,” as a greater threat than terrorism. “Climate change would plunge major European cities beneath rising seas by 2024, while Britain would find itself into a Siberian climate by 2020 . . . nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine, and widespread rioting would erupt across the world.”

If famine is to befall us this year, it would be because of the insane governmental policies in regard to farming, the interdiction of fertilization of crops, withholding water for irrigation, and the interdiction of fossil fuels which creates skyrocketing energy prices.

-         The same scientist Hansen told the Associated Press at a luncheon in 2008 that “The Arctic would be free of sea ice in the summer by 2013 or 2018.

-         Al Gore predicted that the polar ice cap would be gone.

-         Prince Charles reported back in 2009 that “we had just 96 months (eight years) to save the world.”

The reality is that CO2 is the gas of plant life. Crops grow when they are turbocharged by the “CO2 fertilization effect.” Green nurseries add CO2 in order to increase their plant yield.

All the “climate literacy” organizations that distribute literature to schools, universities, and the general public are actually “distributing false climate indoctrination” that is factually incorrect.

The radical environmental green agenda is targeting children and students under the guise of education, and it is funded by our own tax dollars.

The green fearmongering groups are telling students and the public that increasing carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere via industry, fossil fuel car use, agriculture, recreation, building, travel will lead to catastrophic consequences that are not going to be reversible. The planet is warming, and we are all going to die.

In reality, people should be more afraid of cold, not warming.

Our Earth’s atmospheric temperatures have warmed by about 1 degree since 1850. This trend occurred long before the first Model T came off the assembly line and more than 200 years before significant amounts of carbon dioxide were added to the atmosphere in the 1950s.

Modest warming and rise in atmospheric CO2 were actually beneficial to humanity and the Earth’s ecosystems:

1.     Deserts are shrinking, and the Earth is greening. NASA satellite data shows 1982-2009 fifty percent increased vegetative growth on Earth’s surface with less than 4 percent had a decrease in vegetation.” Sahara is showing a desert retreat and growing of plants and grasses.

2.     “Extinctions are declining. IUCN Red List reported that extinctions since the late 1800s and early 1900s have been in decline.”

3.     “Natural disasters have been declining. According to the Center for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters’ EM-DAT database, natural disasters declined by 10 percent since 2000. Severe weather-related deaths have declined nearly 99 percent since the early 1900s.”

The Green Lobby narrative across the world is not about saving the planet from imminent danger due to global warming and increased levels of carbon dioxide, the gas of plant life, it is about population control by a few elites who claim they know what is better for the planet; and that better is to reduce humanity from its current 8 billion to a “comfortable” half billion. Ultimately, they want to reduce the civilized world, all the progress humanity has achieved, to a state of feudal existence controlled by a few.

"Climate Crisis"

The latest push to “net zero” emissions by 2040 comes in the form of a book and a glossy insert advertising the said book in the Washington Post. Think of this “net zero” emissions as your ticket to more global warming taxation, cold winters in your homes, hot summers in your homes, expensive electricity, high fossil fuel prices, and total control of your movements and travel to and from work.

In “Speed and Scale” author John Doerr proposes an “action plan for solving the climate crisis.”

First, most of you did not know that we have a climate crisis, did you? It was first called global warming, then it morphed into a highly lucrative climate change industry, now it is transforming into a climate crisis. Why the morphing of euphemistic names, as we all know that the climate has been changing for millennia, and the globe is not warming, it is cooling? Because the biggest polluters in the world have not bought into their climate agenda and keep polluting away and trillions more can be squeezed from the hapless Americans who do not have much power to prevent their politicians from wasting their tax dollars on solar and wind projects and huge subsidies to venture capitalist companies who engage in scare-mongering that the planet is dying from the gas of plant life, CO2.

The jet-setting elites who fly around the world do not seem to be too concerned about polluting the air and the environment we share with them; they are more interested in their companies’ bottom lines and their bank accounts. They are not shy about telling us to cut back on everything we hold dear. They are justified to jet-set around the world to save planet earth for the minions who are too stupid to understand.

No matter what they call it, global warming, climate change, climate crisis, the “net zero” agenda is going to control every aspect of your lives and it is going to cost a bundle in food prices, energy, electricity, water, heating, air conditioning, taxation, and everything else we do in society.

This “climate crisis” agenda of “net zero” aims to remove you from your fossil fuel vehicles and install you in an expensive electric car that you cannot afford, does not travel far, runs on free fairy dust, electricity from coal and fossil fuels, from windmills and solar panels.

The elitist billionaires want you to ride a train, walk, bike, give up your cars altogether, stop traveling anywhere, stop eating meat, dairy, and eat their fake food.

Author John Doerr is a venture capitalist of the “cleantech movement” who runs Kleiner Perkins; he was a board member at Amazon and Google. He is interested in issues of climate change, public health, and education.

The ten objectives proposed are:

1.      Electricity/transportation

-          reduce transportation emissions from 8 gigatons to 2 gigatons by 2050, a toll order as we have no idea how all this electricity for EV will be produced and where and how millions of cars will be charged in transit on America’s roads

-          Prices and performance of EV (electric vehicles) will be on par with combustion engine cars ($35K in the U.S.)

-          New buses and medium and heavy trucks must be electric with zero-emissions by 2030; this begs the question; how electricity will be produced for such a fleet and how would highly polluting lithium batteries fit in as they cannot be recycled and must be buried

-          Planes must use low-carbon fuel by 2025 and be carbon-neutral by 2040; what   exactly is “carbon neutral?” The climate crisis promoters define it as “making no net release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, especially through offsetting emissions by planting trees

-          Ships must be “zero-ready” by 2030; what exactly is “zero-ready?” It depends on who defines and for what purpose

2.      Decarbonize the grid

-          Reduce “24 gigatons of global electricity and heating emissions to 3 gigatons by 2050)

-          Solar and wind replacing fossil fuel electricity production

-          Electricity storage

-          No new coal and gas plants after 2021; retire existing coal plants by 2025 and gas ones by 2035 (homes are going to be a lot colder in winter and a lot hotter in summer)

-          Methane emissions to be eliminated from coal, oil, and gas sites by 2025

-          Cut gas and oil for heating and cooking in half by 2040 (cold homes in winter and cold meals)

-          Build a clean economy with a clean consumption GDP by reducing fossil fuels

3.      Fix Food

-          Farm soils must have an increased carbon content of 3%

-          Fertilizers based on nitrogen must be drastically cut (yields will decrease)

-          Promote lower emissions proteins, cutting beef and dairy 50% by 2050

-          Reduce methane and nitrous oxide from rice farming by half by 2050

-          Lower the food waste

4.      Protect nature

-          End logging in primary forests and achieve net-zero deforestation

-          Eliminate deep-sea bottom trawling

-          Expand protected lands to 50% by 2050

5.      Clean up industry

-          Reduce “total carbon intensity” of steel production by 90% by 2040

-          Reduce “total carbon intensity” of cement production by 90% by 2040

-          Reduce emissions from other industries such as plastics, chemicals, paper, aluminum, glass, apparel by 80% by 2050

6.      Remove carbon

-          Nature-based removal

-          Engineered removal

7.      Win politics and policy

-          End subsidies, direct and indirect, to fossil fuel companies and for harmful agricultural practices (subsidize solar and wind companies which otherwise would not be able to compete with fossil fuels; and how are globalists able to determine “harmful agricultural practices” as they have never tilled the soil or stepped on a farm; farmers know how to protect their agricultural land that produces our food and keep it fertile)

-          Charge soaring prices on carbon at a minimum of $55 per ton of greenhouse gases

-          “Prohibit HFCs as refrigerants and ban sole use plastics for all non-medical purposes”

-          Double government R&D and increase it five times in the U.S.

-          Eliminate fossil fuel use in all industries by 2050

-          Prohibit sales of non-electric equipment by 2050 in all industries

-          Transportation must be made carbon-neutral by 2040 at all levels (cars, buses, trucks, freight ships, semi-trucks, and flights)

-          Power – cut electricity emissions 100% by 2040

-          All goods must be labeled with their respective carbon-emission footprints

-         “Control flaring, prohibit venting, and mandate prompt capping of methane leaks”

8.      Turn movements into action

-          Make “climate crisis” top issue with voters

-          All government officials, elected and appointed, must support the “net zero” agenda

-          All Fortune 500 companies must reach net zero by 2040

-          Emission reports must be published yearly by all

-          Companies must achieve net zero in electricity, vehicles, and buildings by 2030

-          Education Equity – the world must achieve universal primary and secondary education by 2040 (would that be global Marxist indoctrination?)

-          Health Equity – “Eliminate the gaps among racial and socio-economic groups in greenhouse gas-related mortality rates by 2040” (Who knew that such mortality rates existed and how do they know exactly that deaths occurred due to greenhouse gases?)

-          Economic Equity – this forced transition will create “65 million new jobs, equitably distributed and outpacing the loss of fossil fuel jobs” (This sounds like the green jobs that were never created under the Obama administration; and amazingly, using Common Core math, they will be equitably distributed.)

9.      Innovate

-          Produce a lot of batteries (Where is the lithium coming from and how will such toxic batteries be disposed of?)

-          Green hydrogen

-          Carbon dioxide removal (How will plants live?)

-          Cost of synthetic fuels ($2.50 for jet fuel and $3.50 for gasoline by 2035)

10.  Invest

-          Philanthropic investment ($30 billion per year)

-          Project financing ($1 trillion per year)

-          Venture capital ($50 billion per year)

-          Government R&D (public sector funding of $40 billion per year)

-          Financial incentives (global government subsidies for clean energy of $600 billion)

Bacon and a Year Without Summer

I’m placing the thickly sliced uncured bacon in the pan and, when it begins to sizzle, the marvelous aroma fills the house. It is a memory from my childhood when Grandma Elena would render bacon fat into lard in her tiny kitchen. It was a preservative for chunks of pork she would seal with wax in glass jars that would feed us for an entire year. It was stored in the cellar, the dank, damp, and constantly cool place. We did not need refrigerators and could not have afforded one anyway.

My dad eventually saved enough money when I was in 12th grade and bought a small refrigerator for our tiny apartment in the city. It was empty most of the time because we did not have food to store, mom shopped daily and we ate what she purchased, no leftovers. We would cool a watermelon in the fridge in summertime or keep a small glass bottle of milk if we were lucky enough to have found the liter bottles sold in the government-run dairy stores.

Like everything else, shelves were bare as soon as the morning delivery was put on sale and the long line of shoppers dissipated with their laden expandable jute string shopping bags.  In winter time we had the window sill for cool storage with plenty of ice and snow.

I could have this bacon now every day if I wanted to but I don’t have to because I believe that I can find it any day in the grocery store and I don’t have to fight others for it like they do in socialist Venezuela.

We trust blindly that our local stores will always have a good stock of food every day. As a realist, however, I know that most grocery stores have enough stock for three days, but who wants to have negative thoughts when this country is so rich and the shelves are a cornucopia of abundance? We have fewer and fewer farmers, less than 3 percent, feeding 330 million. Nobody ever starves in America today but could they in case of terrible inclement weather?

What if we would experience another year like 1816, also known as the Year without a Summer?  Major food shortages occurred across the Northern Hemisphere due to the massive 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in the Dutch East Indies, preceded by the 1814 eruption of Mayon in the Philippines. (Oppenheimer, Clive, 2003. "Climatic, environmental and human consequences of the largest known historic eruption: Tambora volcano (Indonesia) 1815.” Progress in Physical Geography. 27 (2): 230–259. http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1191/0309133303pp379ra

Volcanic winters are not something new, they have occurred across the millennia but nobody was keeping track then. Evidence of inclement weather disasters and probable food shortages can be found, among others, in studies of soil strata and in ice core samples.

Reports in the U.S. described a persistent “dry fog which turned reddish and dimmed the sunlight - it could not be dispersed by wind or rainfall.”  Scientists termed it a “stratospheric sulfate aerosol veil.” It affected crops, particularly at higher elevations such as Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and even the garden state, New Jersey. In early June snow fell in Albany, New York, and in Maine. New Jersey’s crops were damaged by five continuous nights of frost.

Those who push the idea of an anthropogenic global warming conveniently leave out the historical data of the Vostok ice core samples taken by Russian, American, and French scientists. Global warmists have now switched to climate change which all sides agree that it does occur but it is not necessarily man-made. We should not confuse deliberate environmental degradation and lack of conservation of natural resources with CO2 gases emitted by humans and animals existing and breathing. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ice-core-data-help-solve/

The Little Ice Age that lasted approximately 500 years is another important occurrence worth mentioning that the global warmists conveniently leave out from their narrative. It caused tremendous agricultural hardship and famine in Europe from around the thirteen hundreds to the eighteen hundreds, affecting the Norse settlers and even Napoleon’s campaign in Russia in 1812 where they encountered such an unusual bitter-cold winter and a lack of food for which they were ill-prepared.  The culprit of the severe cold stretching over centuries was the diminished solar flare activity, a solar minimum, not CO2.
Long winters are not unusual in Russia or in the United States for that matter, it is the inability to have a long enough and warm enough growing season in order to produce sufficient food for its population.

Climatologists who argue when this cooling period actually began, dubbed Little Ice Age by Francois E. Matthes, are more definitive that it ended around 1850-1870. https://www.history.com/news/little-ice-age-big-consequences
In our 20th century communist society, it was not the surprise of weather changes that we had to worry so much about but the unwise economic and agricultural central planning that bore no resemblance to reality or to the ability of humans to produce what was ordered and the fact that most food was used for export in order to buy industrial equipment needed for development. People starved, foreigners ate well, and the communist party had its factories that produced goods that nobody wanted to buy because they were so poorly made.

But we had bacon thanks to my grandparents who always raised a pig for Christmas slaughter, a beautiful animal that kept four-five families alive through winter, spring, summer, and fall until the next year.  If it was not for grandma raising this pig, raising chickens and ducks for eggs, keeping a cow for milk, and planting a garden, several families would have starved because there was not enough food provided by government in groceries stores for the size of the population. Communists do not recognize the law of supply and demand and are not particularly adept at planning centralized economies based loosely on Marxist ideology.
