Cherry Tree Blooming in November 2020

It is quite bizarre to have a cherry tree bloom in November after the tree appeared to have gone dormant. But that is exactly what happened to Rodica Samata’s cherry tree in Maryland. This is what it looked like today.



And this is what it looked like in October. I am not excessively superstitious, but it seems like a fitting metaphor for our recent presidential election - a forced bloom on a dormant tree.

  1. My rhododendron did the same thing in October. Kat and I are coming to see the cherry blossoms in DC in March. I hope some of the trees wait to bloom🙏
