Change from Mayberry to Islam-berry

 

I am watching with my husband the seventh season (the color version) of the Andy Griffith Show and we are enjoying it immensely.

Sadly though, sixty years later, only Opie is still alive, and he is 82 years old, older than I am. The lives and characters of the fictional Mayberry were broadcast in 1966 and was meant to represent a small slice of the American way of life in a small North Carolina town which seems to be devoid of black people. Mayberry was meant to be located somewhere not far from Raleigh and Mt. Pilot.

It is amazing how in 60 years the fictional Christian Mayberry has turned into Islam-berry, Somalia-berry, and Hijab-berry in many American cities, counties, and states.
