Soviet-Style Sacking of Statues by Sanctimonious Stalinists

Violence, looting, sacking statues, lawlessness, burning, and murder by police and protesters should be condemned by all humans, no matter what political leanings one has. Yet the radical leftist Democrat Party refuses to agree with the Republican Party in condemning mob violence.

There is so much supported mob violence that other nations are shaking their collective heads not understanding what is happening to America, “the shining city on the hill” that everyone aspired to flee to when oppression and tyranny was too much in their countries. International enemies are laughing at us and even rejoicing. Watching CNN internationally, Europeans truly believe that Americans are dropping dead like flies of Covid-19.

Romanian friends are crossing themselves every day about what is happening to America in hopes that it will not infect the minds of their younger generations. Who wants to live in anarchy and chaos, with mobs tearing down statues with gusto, with approval of the Democrat state and local officials?

It is a movie that has played before in early 20^th century Russia when Bolsheviks and other Marxists tore down every historical statue they disagreed with and installed ugly monuments dedicated to the Marxist philosophy and the tyranny that it inspired.

And the Stalinist style sacking of statues continues unabated. It is the symbol of the white man behind the statue that offends the Marxist and highly racist mob. They want every trace of person’s existence if they deem him/her a “systemic racist,” whatever this empty liberal construct means. They want them erased from history and their books burned.

As one website wrote, it is a “demented pandemic” born by a flu virus and a communist insurrection facilitated by the brutal police killing of George Floyd.

George Floyd became a martyr, a symbol of everything that is perceived wrong with America by those who wish to abolish and destroy capitalism and the white race.  A murdered criminal with a long rap sheet became suddenly “the most beloved son of America.”

Thousands of people mourned publicly a person they never knew a few days before, with fake pain and tears, dripping with remorse for being “white.”  The world watched in disbelief thousands of imbeciles in the #resist movement begging for forgiveness for imaginary crimes they did not commit, apologizing for being white and kissing the feet of the BLM mob that had burned their cities, their neighborhoods, and their livelihoods just a few days earlier.

All wealthy millionaire and billionaire black athletes and actors came out in droves, resplendent in their opulent limousines and offensive wealth, telling stories of racism they had to endure while hiding behind their gated mansions, partying on yachts, jetting around the world in their private airplanes, protected by body guards, and what it was like to have to walk in their 400 plus pairs of tennis shoes and Gucci loafers.

Every Soros neo-Marxist came out to condemn the police, demanding its dismantling and defunding, denouncing the racist America that made them so wealthy in the first place, and the “systemic racism” that does not exist as we have laws against such racism and discrimination in the workplace.

George Floyd has become such a symbol of America’s “most beloved son” that a scholarship was established in his name. They might even consider him for the Nobel Peace Prize. The bereaved widow, divorced from him for several years, received donations upwards of $20 million dollars. Bless his heart-Biden cried and wished that he was black.

If a movie were to be made about the martyred Floyd, the title of “The Republic Burning” was suggested. It is just the beginning of this “collective dementia.”  In addition to the still-ongoing Covid-19 pandemic lunacy, the “collective dementia” will enable book burnings, complete destruction of history, wealth destruction, culture, movies, writers, jobs, a stable economy, and everything else that the well-funded and armed neo-Marxists deem offensive. 

Orwell’s book “1984” is no longer just a warning, it has become a manual to take power away from the “evil” white man and install anarchy. As a BLM leader in NY said, “we want black sovereignty and, if we don’t get it, we are going to burn everything down.” It reminds me of Zimbabwe.

Empires come and go. The twilight of western civilization is not just a poetic idea, it is a painful reality. Liberals often say that they do not like to make broadly pessimistic pronouncements about the collective fate of civilization.  Of course not, it might upset their blind followers who dwell in the haze of marijuana, hard-core drugs, immorality, decadence, and debauchery.

Anarchists are allowed to burn down towns, while police are told to stand down. ANTI-FA and BLM, fascist and racist organizations by any description, deface statues they don’t like and beat up others whose ideas they disagree with, proclaiming that they have a right to attack them for their opinions.

Young brainwashed generations are rejecting God, morality, their countries, their own skin color, their history, and everything that made our modern society most developed.

Terrorists are allowed to cause destruction and mayhem around the world yet those in power bring more into developed countries under the insane notion that they are protecting multi-culturalism and diversity and the U.N.-established “right” to migration anywhere they wish, regardless of borders and sovereignty.

The lessons of 9-11 and the unity against Muslim terrorist evil forces lasted as long as the clean-up ended, those innocents killed were buried, and the families recompensed from the 9-11 fund. Even the death of the 200 or so jumpers before the towers fell was sanitized by the leftist media because it was too much to bear and see.

The sacred ground containing the bodies of innocents slaughtered that day, who were never recovered, will be protected perhaps for a few decades. When a new generation of BLM and ANTI-FA snowflakes will decide that the monument is offensive to them, it will probably be torn down too.

Statues honoring Francis Scott Key, the lawyer and amateur poet who wrote our National Anthem, Christopher Columbus, derided by the left as an “Italian navigator, explorer, and colonizer,” Gen. Robert E. Lee, a war hero and veteran, were either destroyed, defaced, or vandalized by home-grown terrorists who would like to shut down any opposition to their fascistic behavior and ideas.

Mayors in places like Baltimore, Charlottesville, Dallas, and other highly liberal municipalities, took it upon themselves to rewrite history by ordering the removal of statues they deemed offensive, often in the middle of the night, while the rest of the citizens stood by in stunned disbelief. Bolsheviks and fascists smashed many statues, monuments, burned books and works of art they considered offensive and bourgeois and priceless artifacts were forever destroyed.

Muslim terrorists around the world are killing with gusto because they hate civilization and infidels but love the welfare in the countries they are rapidly occupying through demographics. Europeans and Americans are committing demographic suicide and the church is applauding, praising, and enabling the invaders. Islamists are successfully installing their seventh century theocracy called Caliphate and the powers that be in the western world seem to agree that it is the best path for their citizenry. Twenty-one centuries of civilization must have been a mistake which they aim to correct by national suicide.

Hiring practices favor the newly protected class to the detriment of Americans. My former two bank branches eventually fired all Americans in the last eight years and hired only Muslims with limited English skills. One recently lied and tried to talk down to me about economics and finance. She had been on the job for a week. I wondered how the large Spanish-speaking population banks with them.

You would be hard-pressed to find a medical professional, a taxi driver, a sales associate in a store, or an airport employee in the D.C. area who is not from the Middle East and speaking with a thick English accent, often incomprehensible. It is not racist or bigoted to state such a fact, even though liberals throw around such labels like confetti.

London was just attacked again, this time a bomb blew up on the metro.  Numerous people were singed from the flash of the bomb that partially detonated in a Lidl shopping bag. I wondered how many more such terrorist attacks, whether by bombs, knives, or cars plowing into crowds, will eventually convince the EU that their globalist, multi-cultural plan of flooding the old continent with economic migrants from Africa and the Middle East has failed miserably and must stop the open borders, welcome all the flotsam and jetsam of Islamist refugees who have no intention of ever accepting western civilization or assimilate.

That is why the western empire is in its twilight and will eventually demise in the dustbin of history. And my people fought the Ottoman Empire for centuries. Much blood has been shed to keep them out of Christian lands. Now they are here to stay and fundamentally transform us because we let them.

Education Created and Promoted Progressivism, ANTIFA, and BLM

As a parent who struggles to pay tuition for their child at the average university in America, or goes in debt borrowing the money, consider what your child must face in order to finish four years of college education which may or may not help them get a job.

The American campus is no longer the place of learning, to discuss and exchange ideas, it has become a place of indoctrination, of fear, a place where your children are further indoctrinated, and are not prepared to deal with or function in real life and in the job world.

Students have to deal with bullies, who call themselves “social justice warriors,” who are as far removed from justice and warriors as they can possibly be. They have to deal with college professors who are obsessed with quotas, perverted sex novels, ethnic studies, invented “white guilt,” “white privilege,” and “micro-aggression,” manufactured constructs that are now suffocating every corner in America.

Your children demand and are sent to “safe spaces” where they escape from reality, from any concept or person that contradicts their fantasy world where they have dwelt since birth. They’ve been told their entire lives how special they are, and have received so many undeserved awards each year, they see themselves as real trophies who can waltz through school by virtue of who they are.

Students claim, they are so stressed from school that they demand no grades be given for their poor attendance or non-performance; sadly, half the schools in the country have obliged.

Your students must deal with classes in which they are afraid to express a different opinion from the teacher’s, lest they be dropped from class, failed, or expelled.

Your child may be beaten by mobs of minority students simply because they’ve been oppressed and your Caucasian student happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and catch the ire of their wrath.

Your child is subject to different theories of education methodology that come and go. Experimental surveys and tests supplement these hair-brained fads designed by different College of Education professors in order to justify their existence, their fat salaries, and to make the conference circuits around the country and the world as speakers. When it is obvious that Johnny is doing worse and is unable to pass the tests that have nothing to do with what was taught, and parents revolt, the fad is dropped.

Your child is indoctrinated into Marxism blatantly or subtly in every subject matter – nothing escapes the radar of the tenured college brain-washer. They find clever ways to insert their subjective ideological view of communist utopia into every lesson plan.

Your child studies and receives excellent scores on ACTs and SATs but is disappointed when someone with lesser scores is admitted to college ahead of them simply based on their socio-economic profile and the color of their skin.

These minorities, protected based on the color of their skin, not their intellectual merit, have created a society that is no longer based on merit, but on affirmative action, diversity, and “social justice.” It is these “social justice warriors,” as they euphemistically named themselves that are creating the chaos in our society.

History does repeat itself because these ANTIFA, BLM, and other fascist and race-baiters learned a revisionist history in school. They are very busy, with funds from well-placed billionaires, echoing the actions of the Bolsheviks, Taliban, and ISIS, who have destroyed priceless artifacts of history.

Sanitizing history because they did not like the Civil War, these “social justice warriors” cleverly indoctrinated by their college professors and agitated by neo-communists/globalists and progressive anti-Americans are fast removing any traces of our history under the guise of white nationalism. These statues have been on display for almost a century and longer, nobody batted an eye on seeing them but now, they are suddenly offensive and traumatic.

They are not going to stop at Confederate monuments. They will destroy other parts of history they do not like, i.e., Lincoln, Ted Roosevelt, WWII, etc. How long will it be before they go after churches?

Instead of having a History Department, we will have the Fiction Department. Just like George Orwell had warned us in 1950.

And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Ceausescu, the Taliban, and ISIS have ordered the destruction of history, books, painting, statues, and the renaming of schools and streets. It ended badly in the enslavement and death of millions of innocents.

The brain-washed fascist and progressive groups, with no solid point of historical reference, have painted every white person with the same brush of hate-mongers, even though most of the hate and the violence are coming from the left. Caucasians are suddenly evil “white nationalists.”

Since when is maintaining self-governance, sovereignty over one’s homeland, preserving a national identity based on culture, language, race, religion, political goals, patriotism, and belief in a common ancestry, hateful and racist?

The fads in education come and go but they are presented as facts and “evidence-based.”

Shane Vander Hart wrote a recent article, irately criticizing an educational propaganda post which was praising “social-emotional learning as good for the economy” and urging readers to look at Mindful meditation. It cites large companies with entirely leftist leanings and culture and the tiny country of Bhutan as success stories in using social-emotional learning (SEL), another educational fad pushed by the left. Because most people are economically ignorant, they don’t know that “Economic growth is the increase in the market value of the goods and services produced in the economy over time. It is measured as the percentage rate change in the real gross domestic product (GDP). Determinants of long-run growth include growth of productivity, demographic changes, and labor force participation.”

Forcing children to meditate in class is not going to create jobs, will not alter demographics, immigration policies do, and will not affect productivity. Math and science knowledge, not the Common Core variety, will make a better mechanic, builder, engineer, doctor, scientist, nurse, chemist, physicist, researcher, and statistician.

As Vander Hart wrote in his article, “Do you know what would help boost kids’ self-esteem and happiness in school? Being able to understand math and to read well. Do you know what would help our economy down the road? Graduates being able to understand math, be well read, be able to write well, and who have a well-rounded education.”

Un-sanitized, non-revisionist history will live for a while through those who were eye witnesses such as my friend, “Ironman.” In his own words, he describes the negative changes that have occurred in the last decades which I attribute to the brainwashing of academia, Hollywood, communist foreign infiltrators, and the main stream media.

“Having lived through WW-II and the booming 50’s and 60’s that followed, I’ve seen the negative changes in our way of life. I well remember my brother and 14 million others of Tom Brokaw’s “Greatest Generation” march off to war, and sadly the gold stars that appeared in the windows of many homes. I fondly recall the high standards in the news and entertainment media when a radio announcer would never even say ‘Hel’” or ‘damn’ for fear of losing his broadcasting license, and the uplifting movies like ‘Going My Way’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ that were typical of our entertainment fare. Before globalization I recall when a man’s factory salary supported his many children, with mom in the home, and he could expect a significant pay raise each year. I recall when the safest person in America was the baby in the womb, in contrast to the 61 million innocents that have been brutally murdered in the womb since 1973. I recall when nearly every black child was properly raised by having a father in the home, contrasted with the 72 percent now born to an unwed mother…..leading to a disordered family, supported forcefully by working taxpayers, and producing druggy members of gangs that often end up in prison. I certainly remember when the sole mission of our schools was to teach the three R’s as well as possible, not to indoctrinate their charges with liberal social precepts. I lament the 1970’s when universities stopped operating women’s dorms as safe, wholesome homes-away-from home, instead irresponsibly letting the male students in without limit.”

We made it to the ultra-modern four-star Hilton Hotel on the outskirts of Florence which was no small feat in the slow rush hour traffic.  The roads and ramps are so much narrower in Italy, that I am positive an 18-wheeler would not be able to maneuver the turns and the exits. We were assigned a room on the 8^th floor with a gorgeous view of downtown Florence and the Duomo. 

The bed was maddening, the joining of two twin beds on the same frame which worked fine as long as neither one of us fell in the crack in the middle. The fancy marble shower leaked copiously through the glass enclosure. The bathroom had a bizarre feature; I am not talking about the ever-present and annoying bidet but a sliding partial wall that revealed a glassed window from the bedroom into the shower. It was a peeping Tom meets modernity for the sake of adding more glass into the décor and perhaps an illusion of spaciousness.

To make matters worse, that night we got bitten by mosquitoes while sleeping. Who would have thought that mosquitoes could fly that high up? Perhaps we would not have cracked the window to get some fresh air and much-needed coolness as the A/C was tied-to a smart meter tightly controlled from the reception, a balmy 26 degrees Celsius.

An elegant and smiling reception clerk apologized the next day and brought up delicious chocolate and a plug-in with a chemical repellent. An elegant note suggested that we should keep the windows closed at all times.  Apparently Florence was built on a swamp and mosquitoes have been a problem through the centuries. Some of the Medici members who were reputed to have been poisoned actually died of malaria; scientists found out through DNA analysis of the remains of two of the Medicis entombed in a church.

That evening we took the 6:30 p.m. hotel shuttle to downtown with numerous magpies who talked incessantly like children who escaped parental supervision.  They were dressed up to the nines in their tightest clothes possible. They were in town for a conference on May 5-7, the State of the Union, Women in Europe and the World, and were going to dinner together. One lady nearby told me that Prime Minister Rienzi was going to address them the next day at 7 p.m. in Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria.

As I spoke to three young men whom I stopped later in the piazza, I found out that one talk did address the problem of European women raped by the influx of Middle Eastern refugees allowed into the country by their own government who were willing to change the face of Europe and Islamize it. The speech was allegedly posted to the website.

The bus dropped us and picked us up at the train station, a bustling sea of travelers from around Europe who were taking fast trains in various directions. We had to walk a good distance from the train station to the old downtown, past the beautiful marbled and well-lit Duomo. The EU tourists had thickened even though it was early evening.

I could tell the locals by the way they walked, hurriedly and with a purpose, on the edge of the street, in perfectly matched and artsy designer clothes, carrying a fashionable Italian leather briefcase, and wearing uncomfortable-looking but beautifully crafted shoes meant to be showy, not utilitarian.

A self-respecting Italian would never be caught in a pair of Nike tennis shoes. Clownish-looking shoes resembling our bowling shoes were an aesthetic expression only fashionistas could understand.

The ever-present Italian silk scarf was elegantly tied around their necks even though sometimes it was not cold enough to justify wearing a scarf. If you wanted to look Italian, you could not possibly leave home without a scarf or a shawl, it was an essential accessory, especially around Milan and Venice where the weather could turn on a dime.

Shops were closed, the streets are rolled up early in Florence too, save for gelaterias and a few restaurants that catered to tourists. The locals eat in out of the way places where tourists seldom venture and the owners charge a cover if they agree magnanimously to serve you. If they don’t, the chef with hairy arms and starched white coat and hat may get upset. Our favorite gelateria, on Via dei Calzaiuoli still served the best gelato in oversized cups.

Via dei Calzaiuoli connects the famous piazza del Duomo with the Piazza della Signoria.

We found the tiny silk scarf shop I discovered twenty years ago called Evangelisti but it was closed. Italians workday is much shorter than our traditional eight-hour day. Italians know rest and take pride in their two-hour siesta, riposare dopo pranzo.

The evening ended at the outdoor restaurant Il David, by the heating lamps casting a glow on the Loggia with its beautiful statues, right across from the replica of the famous statue of David, currently housed in the Galleria dell’ Accademia.  Michelangelo’s original statue of David was placed initially outside the Palazzo Vecchio as a symbol of the Republic’s defiance of the tyrannical Medici family.

In the center of Piazza della Signoria, was a gaudy temporary piece of art made of shiny rose metal, a man riding a turtle.  The piece was a strident expression of modern art meets tasteless, in sharp contrast to the beauty surrounding it.

Giambologna’s equestrian statue of Duke Cosimo I (1595), celebrates the man who brought the entire Tuscany under Medici military rule, while Ammannati’s Nettuno (1575) revels in the Medici’s maritime successes.

Loggia della Signoria (Loggia dei Lanzi), with wide arches designed by Benci di Cione and Simone di Francesco Talenti (1376-1382), is an open air art gallery of antique and Renaissance art with beautiful original sculptures and copies. It is told that Michelangelo had proposed the construction of such arches all around Piazza della Signoria. The terrace was used by Medici princes to watch public ceremonies in the square and to watch Gonfaloniers and Priors being sworn into office.

The name Loggia dei Lanzi goes back to the rule of Grand Duke Cosimo I. His landknechts (lanzichenecchi, short lanzi) were German mercenary pikemen who were housed in the Loggia.

One of the statues by Cellini which took almost ten years to complete (1554), Perseus, is holding in one hand Medusa’s head dripping blood and a lance in another, an alleged reminder of what could have happened to those who crossed the Medici family and its rule. The intricately carved marble pedestal displays bronze statuettes of Jupiter, Mercury, Minerva, and Danae.  In his autobiography, Cellini described how the melting furnace got overheated while he was casting the bronze, spoiling the process. Cellini fed the furnace with his own household furniture and with 200 pewter dishes, plates, pots, and pans, successfully restarting the bronze flow.  When the bronze cooled, the statue was finished except for three toes on the right foot which were added later.

On the right side of David, the Medici family appropriated and placed Bandinelli’s Hercules and Cacus (1534) to demonstrate their power upon return from exile. A Medici lion and Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabines completes the statuary of the Loggia. It was carved from an “imperfect block of white marble, the largest block ever transported to Florence.” The beautiful statue placed in the Loggia since 1583, can be admired from all sides. The marble pedestal is also decorated by bronze bas-reliefs with the same theme.

Giambologna’s marble statue, Hercules beating the Centaur Nessus (1599), was placed in the Loggia in 1841.  Menelaus supporting the body of Patroclus, discovered in Rome, stood originally at the southern end of Ponte Vecchio.

The back of the Loggia has five marble female statues and the statue of a barbarian prisoner from the Hadrian or Trajan’s era, discovered in Rome in 1541 and housed at the Medici villa in Rome since 1584 until brought to the Loggia in 1789.

On the left side of the Loggia, crowded very close to the Palazzo Vecchio, leaving just a narrow street in the middle, is the Uffizi palace, harder to see in the low lit surroundings.

Utterly exhausted, we trudged our way back to the train station for the 10:45 p.m. shuttle pick up for Hilton hotel.  I will continue the exploration of Florence after a good night’s rest.
