Recite the Equity Pledge

The County’s Board of Supervisors approved the commission on Oct. 19, 2020. It was tasked with reporting on “the state of racial and social justice for people of color” in the county and making policy recommendations to the local government. The commission adopted an Equity Communication Pledge. At their first meeting, one member refused to recite the pledge, objecting to the fact that the pledge had not been circulated prior to the meeting. Perhaps this organization should have recited the Pledge of Allegiance instead?

The pledge states that it “sets the norms to support and lead equity and social justice conversations.” Who decided what the norms are and what does the leadership of these “equity” norms intend to do with them when they have the “conversations” on the liberal construct of “social justice” with the taxpayers and residents of Prince William County?

The person pledging is supposed to agree to the norms by “monitoring my thoughts for internal dialogue.” This implies that a person’s thoughts may be divergent from the norms established by this vaunted group and thus unacceptable. Orwell wrote in his “1984” book about the Thought Police.

The pledge encourages statements from “my own experience” and “I think, I feel, I believe.” The idea of “facts” is not mentioned in the official document.

The pledge wants people to “reflect on my intention and impact on others before making a question or making a comment.” In other words, you must be careful not to offend any protected group based on race.

The pledge also warns against “rushing to quick solutions, especially in relation to racial understanding.” It is not explained the exact meaning of “racial understanding.” Who are these people that we must racially understand?  Apparently, we must have “ongoing dialogue” with them. And who decides what is “rushing to quick solutions?” How is this “rushing” being measured? What constitutes an “acceptable solution” and acceptable to whom?

The pledge urges citizens to “grow my equity lens.” I am not sure what an “equity lens” is; I am also not sure what their definition of “equity” is. But whatever it is, we must move “towards solutions with constructive collaborative actions.” Again, there is no definition of what “constructive collaborative actions” are, however, since the majority of the county’s residents have no idea of the existence of this Racial and Social Justice Commission’s pledge of “Equity Communication,” if is fair to say that it falls under the Orwellian Newspeak of 2021.

The pledgers must practice “self-care,” another Orwellian term, during which time citizens must “set time aside to process, reflect and recharge in positive ways.” Who decides what such “positive ways” are? I venture to say that it is this social engineering commission, entrusted with erasing any thoughts disagreeable with their agenda.

Last, but not least, the commission, urges citizens to “reflect” on the racial and ethnic division these commission members are creating with this ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars.

The commission wants us to be “willing participants, learners, and intentional listeners to lead equity and social justice conversations.” And, what if we do not want to be participants in this equity and social justice liberal experiment? Additionally, what is an “intentional listener” exactly? Can one be an unintentional listener?

“Equity” is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “the quality of being fair and impartial,” or “justice according to natural law or right, specifically, freedom from bias or favoritism.” In finance, equity is ownership of assets that may have debts or other liabilities attached to them.”

The woke claim that “racial equity,” another leftist construct, is somehow suddenly missing in our modern society of the 21st century, is an insult to law and justice which, by definition, treats everyone impartially and equally under the law, regardless of their skin color, ethnic background, sex, disabilities, etc.

“Social justice” is a political and philosophical construct which holds that “all people should have equal access to wealth, health, wellbeing, justice, and opportunity.” All people do have equal access of opportunity, but they must apply themselves, nobody owes them anything, not other citizens, and certainly not the government.

All people, legal and illegal, have equal access to hospitals, doctors, medical care, drugs, and justice, but the wellbeing of everyone is dependent on what kind of lifestyle they lead, how well they take care of themselves, and how many healthy habits they follow.

The idea that everyone should have equal access to wealth is ridiculous on its face. People have built wealth, lost it, or accumulated it over time, have inherited it, and many have worked extremely hard to achieve it.

How is it socially just to confiscate something from people who worked hard, and give it to people who had neither the ability, the work ethic, the education, the experience, and the effort expended to build wealth?

And once everything is taken from the producers and equally distributed to the idle, how long will this “collective” wealth last and who is going to build and amass the next fortune once everyone spent their wealth and became “poor” again?

Could the Social Justice woke warriors be a little more specific about their idea of equity and how far are they willing to go with their woke oppression, thought police, and woke Marxist indoctrination? Equity in the woke Newspeak is racism.

American Woke Newspeak is Orwell’s Newspeak

The news in our country have turned into indoctrination and propaganda pieces with narrative script sent to television anchors from the Mother Ship in the District of Communism of Washington, D.C.

It is a new D.C., surrounded by armed military, tall fences, and razor wire, behind which Congress is protected from the American people they allegedly represent. Our “elected” representatives are currently busy dismantling everything that protects Americans, including the southern border fence. Illegals from around the world are elated.

Kari Lake, KSAZ-TV, resigned her successful anchor post, stating, “In the past few years, I haven’t felt proud to be a member of the media. I am sure there are other journalists out there who feel the same way. For quite sometime now, it has been painfully obvious that reporters, journalists, and anchors are overwhelmingly progressive/liberal, with show producers being the most zealous woke leftists. They decide, with guidance from the Mother Ship in the District of Communism what the news and programs are, write the narrative of the daily news copy and anchors across the spectrum read them off the teleprompter.

Words are being twisted and turned so that they no longer mean what reality implies. Based on political decisions made by the socialist educators, certain writers and books are being purged from the American literature and from schools.

Most recently, Dr. Seuss and Laura Ingalls Wilder came in the crosshairs of woke leftist educators in America who see their writings as having “racial undertones” and thus not suitable for “culturally responsive” learning. I am not sure what “culturally responsive” learning is, but it is a form of woke Newspeak.

Orwell’s 1984 Newspeak, the official language of Oceania, was created to “meet the ideological needs of Ingsoc, or English Socialism.” Our current “woke” euphemistic language has been created by the left to promote socialism and Marxism. To obliterate reality, writings that depict historical reality must be destroyed, including Little House on the Prairie and other such beloved children’s classics.

Woke Newspeak has become the language of our mass communication, with emphasis on racial justice, social justice, transgenderism, altered reality, manufactured history, multi genderism bias, triggered, gender distortion, systemic racism, cultural race theory, white privilege, and less white.

Orwell’s Newspeak was so precise that words like “thought” and “science” did not exist. The mandated A Vocabulary was designed for use in everyday life. The B Vocabulary was invented for political purposes to force the individual to have a “desirable mental attitude” approved by the powers that be.

In our modern Wokespeak, an example of Newspeak would be systemic racism, invented concepts to make political points where none exist.

An example of Orwell’s B words would be “goodthink” as opposed to “oldthink” which was so archaic that it needed rebranding and translation into “goodthink,” approved by the Ministry of Truth.

Orwell’s C Vocabulary contained scientific and technical terms, quite sparse and with little “currency either in everyday speech or in political speech.”

In Newspeak, the word “equal” meant that “all men are of equal size, weight, or strength,” but “the concept of political equality no longer existed, it had been purged out of the word equal.”

A citizen growing up with the Wokespeak called Newspeak would never know that once equal had the secondary meaning of “political equal,” or that the word free once implied “intellectually free.”

Orwell’s fictious Oceania had its own guidebook, “The theory and practice of oligarchical collectivism,” by Emmanuel Goldstein, which divided people into the High, the Middle, and the Low. Their aims have been entirely “irreconcilable.”

Orwell’s 1984 chapters include such pearls of wisdom as “ignorance is strength, “freedom is slavery,” “two and two make five,” and “war is peace.” To make sure that subjects followed its dictates, the Thought Police was ever present.

Marx wrote in his Communist Manifesto that “There are, besides, eternal truths, such as Freedom, Justice, etc., that are common to all states of society.  But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experiences.”

To do that, in line with Marx’s theory, the woke “American” left has decided that it is best to destroy everything in the United States’ past, i.e., statues, monuments, books, authors, events, good schools, traditional culture, names, heroes, language based on reality, and to manufacture a woke history and alternate reality that would enable them to install communism without the population revolting against such invented history or rejecting their efforts. The old social order must go in order to bring about the leftist woke social order.

The “New Normal” or Modified Normal


Social conditioning is defined as the process of training individuals in a society to respond in a manner generally approved by society and various peer groups and their interests.

In a classic textbook method of social conditioning, all commercials and MSM news reports now contain the line “the new normal.” If the idea and concept reflected in a new euphemistic phrase is introduced and repeated it at nauseam, people will accept it eventually as “the new normal.”

The oft-repeated “social distancing” phrase is also played across the country in supermarkets, on radio, and on television until people accept it as part of life. There is nothing social about hiding from people and running scared. It is really “physical distancing” to avoid infection during a pandemic.  Sadly, fear becomes part of everyday life and people begin avoiding each other in all social interactions that are part of being human.

We know from the bad experience of dictator Ceausescu’s orphans raised in state institutions after having been given up by their parents who either could not feed nor want them, that those infants who were never touched, hugged, rocked, and interacted with, became severely autistic and rocked themselves non-stop in order to soothe the inner need and desire for human contact and love.

The “new normal” represents the fear of one’s own shadow, the fear of government, the fear of not wearing masks, the fear of coughing in public, the fear of one’s neighbors, the fear of quarantine, the fear of getting sick, the fear of other people, the fear of being outside without a mask on, and the fear of existing outside of one’s home which has become a prison of sorts in which the owners are both the inmates and the jailers.

Orwell wrote through his “1984” character named Winston, “To a future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone – to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, form the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of double-think – greetings!”   (p. 28)

The dystopian novel described a time when “nothing was your own except a few cubic centimeters inside your skull.” (p. 27) We do not seem to be so shocked anymore by the dark human nature described in Orwell’s novel. Life imitates art and we are getting accustomed daily to this “new normal” indelibly etched into our collective psyche by the powers with a globalist agenda of population control, vaccines, chip implantation, and 24/7 tracking of every move we make.

The ideas described by Orwell have come to pass and currently surround us everywhere, i.e., thought police, technology giants censorship of our freedom of speech and of our thoughts expressed on social media, thoughts packaged as hate crimes or racism, liberals triggered by the existence of divergent thoughts and ideas, doublethink, doublespeak, “Freedom is Slavery,” “Ignorance is strength,” enemies of the Democrat party must be silenced, thought crimes, and the government’s version of the “Ministry of Truth.” Undesirable people are disappearing, professionally “annihilated, abolished, and vaporized.”

United Nations has been peddling 17 sustainable development goals for decades under Agenda 21 now morphed into Agenda 2030, packaging and repackaging them under different euphemisms of global control, until the United States was brought to its economic knees by a virus and forced to accept them under the much-touted aegis of the Green New Deal. The poster child of this Democrat legislation was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the former bartender. We did not take her seriously but, with her powerful backers, she was able to implement most everything in this “deal” which is neither “new” nor “green.”

The restriction of travel and the generalized panic and fear have reduced air traffic to insignificant amounts. Airlines lost billions in revenue and experienced a severe reduction in travel by 95 percent. Airlines like United mothballed 25 percent of their air fleet. Air traffic may eventually exist just for the rich elites and well-heeled politicians on the taxpayer dole.

U.N. Agenda 2030 wanted to reduce our carbon footprint by pushing limited travel by trains, buses, and bikes, keeping the population stacked in high-rise apartments with no parking, five-minute walk from work, play, school, shopping, and living.

Traffic on once crowded highways has disappeared. People are not going anywhere out of fear, because places are closed all over, or because of restrictions placed upon them by governors eager to control the masses while they take vacations and trips to places now denied to the average American.

Democrats have been pushing for a universal basic income for their base, and people scoffed and doubted them. But now the Democrats won. Americans who do work, work from home, while the rest are staying hidden and idle at home, waiting for the government paycheck to arrive so they can live and pay their bills.

Technocracy News expressed what many of us have been thinking, that we need clarity from our President and a concrete date when the economic lockdown of healthy Americans will end, “not in stages, not in phases.” According to Technocracy News, President Trump’s advisers were wrong:

“They convinced the president to make bad decisions based on faulty science and speculative computer models stocked with false assumptions. They are up to their necks in conflicts of interest, mostly having to do with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and its many global partners pushing mandatory vaccines and global ID system that can be used for tracking individual Americans.” https://www.technocracy.news/

The “new normal” is not normal at all. There is nothing normal about living in fear, hidden, like an animal in a cage, waiting to receive a handout from the government that taxes those who do work.

There is nothing normal about closing schools indefinitely and having to follow one-way lines into and out of grocery stores.

There is nothing normal about having empty hospitals and furloughed medical personnel and doctors while people are dying from cancer, heart disease, and other non-Covid-19 virus related illness, or suffer in severe pain because their medical problems are judged non-essential by all-knowing politicians.

Perhaps one unintended consequence of this “pandemic” may be the dismantling of the goal for mega-cities which the environmentalists at the U.N. have been pushing for decades and the dispersion of people into less populated areas.

Retail in a physical space as we know it will disappear, replaced by online commerce.  Shipping methods will explode, and product choices will become scarce. Environmentalists will be happy as less resources will be used to manufacture what they deemed as too many goods and services. The U.S. economy will shrink as two-thirds of our GDP is consumption.

Remote work and schooling will become the new wave of commuting in the U.S. Physical schools and bussing many disappear over time. Office buildings may become obsolete.

Domestic travel will slow down as the middle class will have to deal with the loss of millions of small businesses and a disappearing middle-class disposable income.

Stronger border controls and mandatory quarantines for those with and without fever will result in much less international travel. International travel may morph into travel of the affluent who make the rules. A Refresher on Chapter 4 of George Orwell's 1984

One of the characters in 1984 is Winston Smith. He works in the records department for The Ministry of Truth, which exercises complete control over all mass media in Oceania. Winston falsifies historical records in order to comply with the Party's version of the past, a sort of revisionist history in the vein of Howard Zinn's history books used by most public schools in the U.S. today.

The records department of Minitrue "rectifies" historical records and newspaper articles to conform them to Big Brother's recent decisions and decrees, in order to make the Party the ultimate arbiter of truth. If the Party says it is true, it must be true, and it becomes a matter of record.

"In this chapter, Orwell gives a great deal of detail about Winston's job and the place in which he works, the Records Department in the Ministry of Truth, where his job is to rewrite history according to Party need. In this chapter, in addition to noting a few of his colleagues — among them Tillotson, a hostile co-worker in the next cubicle, and Ampleforth, a poet of sorts — Winston's task is to re-write an article in which Big Brother commended a person who is now in the Party's disfavor. Winston Smith creates a war hero, Captain Ogilvy, who has led an "ideal" life and was killed in battle. Winston writes a speech that Big Brother is supposed to have given, commending this hero that never existed. It strikes Winston that he could create a dead man but not a living one. Ogilvy, now in the records, exists on the same authority as genuine, living people.
 
Analysis
 
This chapter is full of details about Winston's work life: from the speakwrite, a contraption into which Winston speaks the articles that will be later written (speaking and writing here considered opposites), to the memory holes in which "records" are thrown, not to be remembered and documented, but to be destroyed. The reader should note that Orwell consistently names items, processes, and events antithetically to their intents, results, and purposes and thereby makes Winston's world more terrible and frightening. The function of the Ministry of Truth, for example, is to create lies; the function of the Ministry of Peace is to wage war.
 
Here the reader gets the full detail of Winston's work and a better view into the political system of his society. He is engaged in forging the past into something palatable to the Party's ideology: Big Brother is never wrong, heroes are those who put their own lives aside for the Party's benefit, and goods are always manufactured at a quantity beyond what is expected. Of course, none of it is true, and so follows Winston's question, haunting him throughout the book: If a fact only exists in your memory, and yours alone, what proof is there that it really happened at all?"

Education Created and Promoted Progressivism, ANTIFA, and BLM

As a parent who struggles to pay tuition for their child at the average university in America, or goes in debt borrowing the money, consider what your child must face in order to finish four years of college education which may or may not help them get a job.

The American campus is no longer the place of learning, to discuss and exchange ideas, it has become a place of indoctrination, of fear, a place where your children are further indoctrinated, and are not prepared to deal with or function in real life and in the job world.

Students have to deal with bullies, who call themselves “social justice warriors,” who are as far removed from justice and warriors as they can possibly be. They have to deal with college professors who are obsessed with quotas, perverted sex novels, ethnic studies, invented “white guilt,” “white privilege,” and “micro-aggression,” manufactured constructs that are now suffocating every corner in America.

Your children demand and are sent to “safe spaces” where they escape from reality, from any concept or person that contradicts their fantasy world where they have dwelt since birth. They’ve been told their entire lives how special they are, and have received so many undeserved awards each year, they see themselves as real trophies who can waltz through school by virtue of who they are.

Students claim, they are so stressed from school that they demand no grades be given for their poor attendance or non-performance; sadly, half the schools in the country have obliged.

Your students must deal with classes in which they are afraid to express a different opinion from the teacher’s, lest they be dropped from class, failed, or expelled.

Your child may be beaten by mobs of minority students simply because they’ve been oppressed and your Caucasian student happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and catch the ire of their wrath.

Your child is subject to different theories of education methodology that come and go. Experimental surveys and tests supplement these hair-brained fads designed by different College of Education professors in order to justify their existence, their fat salaries, and to make the conference circuits around the country and the world as speakers. When it is obvious that Johnny is doing worse and is unable to pass the tests that have nothing to do with what was taught, and parents revolt, the fad is dropped.

Your child is indoctrinated into Marxism blatantly or subtly in every subject matter – nothing escapes the radar of the tenured college brain-washer. They find clever ways to insert their subjective ideological view of communist utopia into every lesson plan.

Your child studies and receives excellent scores on ACTs and SATs but is disappointed when someone with lesser scores is admitted to college ahead of them simply based on their socio-economic profile and the color of their skin.

These minorities, protected based on the color of their skin, not their intellectual merit, have created a society that is no longer based on merit, but on affirmative action, diversity, and “social justice.” It is these “social justice warriors,” as they euphemistically named themselves that are creating the chaos in our society.

History does repeat itself because these ANTIFA, BLM, and other fascist and race-baiters learned a revisionist history in school. They are very busy, with funds from well-placed billionaires, echoing the actions of the Bolsheviks, Taliban, and ISIS, who have destroyed priceless artifacts of history.

Sanitizing history because they did not like the Civil War, these “social justice warriors” cleverly indoctrinated by their college professors and agitated by neo-communists/globalists and progressive anti-Americans are fast removing any traces of our history under the guise of white nationalism. These statues have been on display for almost a century and longer, nobody batted an eye on seeing them but now, they are suddenly offensive and traumatic.

They are not going to stop at Confederate monuments. They will destroy other parts of history they do not like, i.e., Lincoln, Ted Roosevelt, WWII, etc. How long will it be before they go after churches?  

Gregory B. asked the question, “because Mary Todd Lincoln’s three sisters were married to Confederate soldiers and her brother was a Confederate surgeon, should her memorabilia be removed from the White House Lincoln bedroom?”

Instead of having a History Department, we will have the Fiction Department. Just like George Orwell had warned us in 1950.

He said, “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street, building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Ceausescu, the Taliban, and ISIS have ordered the destruction of history, books, painting, statues, and the renaming of schools and streets. It ended badly in the enslavement and death of millions of innocents.

The brain-washed fascist and progressive groups, with no solid point of historical reference, have painted every white person with the same brush of hate-mongers, even though most of the hate and the violence are coming from the left. Caucasians are suddenly evil “white nationalists.”

Since when is maintaining self-governance, sovereignty over one’s homeland, preserving a national identity based on culture, language, race, religion, political goals, patriotism, and belief in a common ancestry, hateful and racist?

The fads in education come and go but they are presented as facts and “evidence-based.”

Shane Vander Hart wrote a recent article, irately criticizing an educational propaganda post which was praising “social-emotional learning as good for the economy” and urging readers to look at Mindful meditation. It cites large companies with entirely leftist leanings and culture and the tiny country of Bhutan as success stories in using social-emotional learning (SEL), another educational fad pushed by the left. Because most people are economically ignorant, they don’t know that “Economic growth is the increase in the market value of the goods and services produced in the economy over time. It is measured as the percentage rate change in the real gross domestic product (GDP). Determinants of long-run growth include growth of productivity, demographic changes, and labor force participation.”

Forcing children to meditate in class is not going to create jobs, will not alter demographics, immigration policies do, and will not affect productivity. Math and science knowledge, not the Common Core variety, will make a better mechanic, builder, engineer, doctor, scientist, nurse, chemist, physicist, researcher, and statistician.

As Vander Hart wrote in his article, “Do you know what would help boost kids’ self-esteem and happiness in school? Being able to understand math and to read well. Do you know what would help our economy down the road? Graduates being able to understand math, be well read, be able to write well, and who have a well-rounded education.”

Un-sanitized, non-revisionist history will live for a while through those who were eye witnesses such as my friend, “Ironman.” In his own words, he describes the negative changes that have occurred in the last decades which I attribute to the brainwashing of academia, Hollywood, communist foreign infiltrators, and the main stream media.

“Having lived through WW-II and the booming 50’s and 60’s that followed, I’ve seen the negative changes in our way of life. I well remember my brother and 14 million others of Tom Brokaw’s “Greatest Generation” march off to war, and sadly the gold stars that appeared in the windows of many homes. I fondly recall the high standards in the news and entertainment media when a radio announcer would never even say ‘Hel’” or ‘damn’ for fear of losing his broadcasting license, and the uplifting movies like ‘Going My Way’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ that were typical of our entertainment fare. Before globalization I recall when a man’s factory salary supported his many children, with mom in the home, and he could expect a significant pay raise each year. I recall when the safest person in America was the baby in the womb, in contrast to the 61 million innocents that have been brutally murdered in the womb since 1973. I recall when nearly every black child was properly raised by having a father in the home, contrasted with the 72 percent now born to an unwed mother…..leading to a disordered family, supported forcefully by working taxpayers, and producing druggy members of gangs that often end up in prison. I certainly remember when the sole mission of our schools was to teach the three R’s as well as possible, not to indoctrinate their charges with liberal social precepts. I lament the 1970’s when universities stopped operating women’s dorms as safe, wholesome homes-away-from home, instead irresponsibly letting the male students in without limit.”
Would all museums and artifacts be destroyed?
