Freedom of the Press and Freedom from the Press

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says simply that Congress shall make no law “abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” The courts have since bent over backwards to interpret and re-interpret the intent of the framers of the Constitution, depending on who the aggrieved parties were and whose interests were at stake.

The courts ruled on what is protected speech and what is not, how far journalists can go with their information, and how far they are protected when compared to private citizens.

For the longest time, the American public believed the press, the major newspapers, beloved radio personalities whose political biases nobody knew because they never made them public by staying neutral and objective, and sources such as NBC, ABC, and CBS.

We took pride in America in the freedom of expressing one’s opinion without the fear of going to jail for their views. We also knew that, by expressing such a view people left themselves exposed to judgment by their employer with the potential of losing one’s job or of being ostracized from certain organizations.

One of the basic “tenets” of the communist revolution was a free press.  Lenin was quite descriptive in his version of freedom of the press – “We demand immediate and unconditional recognition by the authorities of freedom of assembly, freedom of press and an amnesty for all political prisoners and dissenters. Until this is done, all words about tolerance, about religious liberty, will remain a miserable game and an indecent lie. Until freedom of assembly, of speech, and of the press is declared, there will not disappear the shameful Russian inquisition which persecutes profession of unofficial faith, unofficial opinions, unofficial doctrines.” He was, of course, referring to his communist brethren who were languishing in prison for various offenses, he had no interest in extending such freedom of the press to those who disagreed with the communist ideology. Nikita Khrushchev talked about an “objective press.” He decided which articles were objective and asked that they be published in the Soviet press because he believed they were “truthful and objective.” He was the arbiter of truth. But the “free press” the Soviets were cherishing was not really the press that the West viewed as free.

At the time, Turner Catledge of The New York Times wondered why foreign correspondents were censored by the Soviet Union but were not censored in the West. As we well know today, major U.S. publications are quite leftist and openly support socialism, the precursor to communism, and censor those who disagree with them.

Khrushchev responded to Catledge that wasting money on telegraph communications and paper would harm society with news that distort the real life of Soviet Russia and slander and manufacture instead of benefiting society. In such cases, he said, the authorities are justified in withholding false reports and not publishing them.

The USSR Constitution guaranteed “freedom of the press.” Pravda (The Truth) stated on December 26, 1958, “Article Seven – Anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda. Agitation or propaganda, conducted with he aim of undermining or weakening the Soviet power or committing individual, particularly dangerous crimes against the state, the spreading of slanderous fabrications with he same aim, defaming the Soviet state and social order, and equally the spreading of printing or storing of literature of this nature with the same aim will be punishable by imprisonment for a period ranging from six months to seven years or banishment for a period ranging from two to five years.” Discussions of war (“war propaganda”) was particularly distasteful and egregious to the Communist Party. So much for freedom of the press, Soviet style.

TASS, the communist party approved Soviet news agency, said in 1959, “We have no censorship, only control to prevent misuse of the freedom of the press.”

As most historians know, it was mandatory for all regional (oblast) newspapers in the Soviet Union to publish the exactly worded propaganda that appeared in Pravda. It was like today’s Democrat party giving its marching orders to anchors on various leftist channels who repeat the script religiously.

James Reston of the New York Times wondered “why poets, writers, and musicians followed a very narrow line of work” and why Pravda can be bought in New York, but the New York Times could not be sold in the Soviet Union.

The answer was priceless. Subscribers to the New York Times in the Soviet Union were almost non-existent because “Soviet people want the truth and your papers print a lot of untruths and misinformation. Why should we force that on our readers?” The Soviet authorities want their people to understand internal and international events more clearly and not be misled. And western journalists are incapable of understanding the Soviet writers and poets’ literary work. “You understand their literary work quite incorrectly.” (To James Reston of The New York Times; TASS, Oct. 11, 1957)

A “bourgeois newspaper” correspondent not “rightly assesses what he sees, just as not everyone can gaze at the heavens and see the sun as it really is.” In other words, the press can be “objective,” but the definition of “objectivist” is “objectionable” by Soviet ideology.

An op-ed in Pravda on January 27, 1960, said, “The press is a powerful force in the ideological indoctrination of young persons. However, at one time certain newspapers and journals of Latvia were somewhat drawn to objectivist reporting of various aspects of life in capitalist countries. Weak and ideologically depraved literary works were also printed. Party agencies were forced to take serious measures for improving the ideological content of printed matter.”

The oppressed proletariat in the Soviet Union and the other Iron Curtain countries was not stupid. They watched shows like Dallas and saw for themselves how American people lived under the maligned capitalism and the abundance of food in their grocery stores while communist stores were empty. They knew there was a better life beyond the tall barb-wired fences that kept them prisoners in the communist grey paradise.

It is laughable when an apparatchik was quoted saying, “In Moscow there is no censorship. Every correspondent can write what he wants except lies.” And that correspondent would never be heard from again after writing what he wanted.

William Randolph Hearst, Jr., agreed that the free American press has a different view of censorship from Khrushchev’s view. “If I fired everybody who wrote opinions with which I disagree at times, I’m afraid we would not have many people left in the editorial department.”

What about the “freedom to listen” to programs that the communist party found objectionable? The Soviets jammed the Voice of America radio programming because, they said, those voices were dissonant, and the communist authorities did not want the Soviet people to have a “wrong picture of the American people and their voice.”

Speaking to the Economic Club of New York on September 17, 1959, and Irritated that the public was interrupting him, Khrushchev offered to stop speaking if they did not want to hear what he had to say. “The Question of how and what our people should hear is the affair of our people. These questions are decided and will always be decided by the Soviet people themselves and their Government, without foreign interferences.”

It is sad to note that today, conservative Americans have restricted access to social media platforms, and many are periodically banned, and some are shadow banned. Invisible computer censors tell us that we “violate community standards” if we try to read an article, post a photograph, or a video that the leftist censors find objectionable. We are not sure exactly what these community standards are, but they must be quite specifically designed to encompass only conservatives and their viewpoints.

Some conservative Americans have the means to fight back against censorship in a court of law, which is something the communist era victims were not permitted to do. In the era of algorithmically designed information highway, do we really have freedom of speech, the freedom to post an opinion, to listen, read, or view? When the press receives its marching orders from the leftist elites who own all venues of the mainstream media, do we still have freedom of the press even though it is guaranteed in the Constitution? What good is a guarantee if it is not enforced? Do we even have freedom from the fake press that overwhelms the airwaves, bookstores, and the printing press?

America’s Marxist Fever

America is burning with repulsive Marxist fever which has reached a scorching level. Like sharks circling mad in bloody waters, the mainstream media, academia, the Democrat Party, and its American supporters are engulfed by Marxist fever and stirred into a daily frenzy devoid of logic and truth, ready to impeach our president and deport anybody who is not a Democrat Socialist.

The social/racial justice warrior activists are determined to replace the “evil capitalism” they suddenly detest and reject, with “equitable, classless, non-racist, and socially just socialism/communism.” They have no idea what socialism and communism really are but that is of no consequence - they just want their promised “free stuff.”

Community organizers and agitators from the media, Hollywood, academia, Democrat Socialist and Communist Congresspeople, and the Communist Party USA are telling them that in Marxist utopia they will never have to lift another finger to provide for themselves, the government will do it for them. It sounds intoxicating and enticing to useful idiots and low information voters - except that it is one big, fat lie.

Some Americans have always been in love with Bolshevism and Communism, stemming from their ignorance, naivete, and gullibility. Past and present Americans have chosen to visit Cuba and Russia with a large entourage or to move permanently to the former Soviet Union, praising their socialist/communist blissful and superior way of life.

Aside from Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who chose to honeymoon in the former Soviet Union and praised its clean metro and cheap concert tickets (government subsidized), many groups of Americans moved to Stalin’s “paradise” after the Russian Revolution. None were as famous as the Finnish Americans.

The New York Times wrote on August 24, 1931 that “6,000 Americans will work in Russia;” Peter Filene wrote about “Americans and the Soviet Experiment, 1917-1933;” and Andrea Graziosi wrote about “Foreign Workers in Soviet Russia, 1920-1940: Their Experience and Their Legacy.”

Who were these idealistic Americans who chose to move to the former Soviet Union despite warnings from our government to stay away from the scourge called Bolshevism?

The first group, according to Susan Jacoby and Yelena Khanga, writing in Soul to soul: A Black Russian American family, was comprised of black Americans, “communists and non-communists, [who] were recruited as agricultural experts to Central Asia to aid in cotton production.”

Another group was comprised of foreigners who were recruited as skilled workers and experts in Ukraine and Ural Mountains (Kharkov, Cheliabinsk, Mangitogorsk, Kuznetsk) to work on large industrial construction projects. John Scott wrote about this experience in his book, Behind the Urals: An American in Russia’s City of Steel.

Jewish Americans migrated to Eastern Siberia to the Jewish Autonomous Region of Birobidzhan created in 1931 by Stalin for them. The area was located just north of Manchuria. Robert Weinberg described its establishment and history in his book, Stalin’s Forgotten Zion: Birobidzhan and the Making of a Soviet Jewish Homeland: An Illustrated History, 1928-1996.

The fourth group, Finnish Americans, encompassed, along with Finnish Canadians, 25 percent of the foreign labor force in Karelia, a region in northwest Russia which bordered Finland. Lawrence and Sylvia Hokkanen described them in Karelia: A Finnish American Couple in Stalin’s Russia.

According to Emily Weidenhamer, writing on December 12, 2005 in geohistory. today, these Americans chose to go to the Soviet Union because of the labor situation in America following the Great Depression. But the Finnish Americans were already wealthy, they did not leave for economic reasons. They owned “homes, cars, farm equipment, and the like. They paid their own way to the Soviet Union, and they emigrated with entire families.” It is safe to speculate that they were motivated by their political beliefs.

Mark Stodghill quoted Mayme Sevander in “Harsh Lessons in Idealism,” who said, “We were not traitors. It must be understood that we were the children of idealists. Their idealism was worded in communist ideals – that there should be equality for all.” (Duluth News Tribune, Dec. 15, 1996, p. 1E)

Emily Weidenhamer wrote that “The Finnish American community in the United States was often politically radical, heavily influenced by left-wing socialist and communist movements. This trend was rooted, in part, in the Finnish national awakening,” an outlet for the Finnish immigrants who labored in lumber camps and mines under horrible working conditions. The anger that they and other foreign immigrants had to endure such unfair working conditions expressed itself in membership in radical political movements, labor unions, socialism, and communism. According to Carl Ross, the non-political Finns, conservative members of the Lutheran Church, who disliked the radical movement which tainted all Finns, were alleged to have petitioned the immigration officials to deny Finnish socialists’ entrance to the United States.

Mayme Sevander’s father is alleged to have said to potential Finnish recruits:

“Karelia… needs strong workers who know how to chop trees and dig ore and build houses and grow food. Isn’t that what we Finns have been doing in the United States for the past thirty years? And wouldn’t it be wonderful to do that same work in a country that needs you, a country where there is no ruling class, no rich industrialists or kings or czars to tell you what to do? Just workers toiling together for the common good?” (Mayme Sevander, They Took My Father, p. 19)

As it turned out, the Finns discovered rather quickly that there were two classes, the proletariat and the communist apparatchiks, there was a ruler, Stalin and the Communist Party’s Politburo, and the common good was not common, it was the good of the Communist Party elites. And the proletariat had to toil hard for equal and paltry wages.

The departing Finns who caught the “Karelian fever” appealed to “comrades” left behind to rally around communists in America:

“We the undersigned, leaving behind this country of capitalistic exploitations, are headed for the Soviet Union where the working class is in power and where it is building a socialistic society. We appeal to you, comrades, who are staying behind, to rally round communist slogans, to work efficiently to overthrow capitalism and create the foundation of a Republic of Labor.”

As many who have experienced communism, we can only imagine what had happened to the foreigners who chose to move to and stay in the Soviet Union. They experienced the human cost of Stalin’s forced collectivization and pogrom against the kulaks, peasants who owned their farm and could hire labor.

Kaarlo Tuomi wrote:

“All the stations were packed with hordes of exiled peasants from the steppes of Russia and Ukraine… They were literally dying of starvation before our eyes; rags hung on one, and the silent entreaty of the children was unbearable as they went back and forth through the train begging for bread… ‘You can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs,’ Lenin once quipped, and we accepted this grimly. But it was easier to joke about broken eggs than to see broken people and hear their pitiful cries.” (quoted by Widenhamer from Kaarlo Tuomi, pp. 121-122)

The Finns eventually fell victims to Soviet xenophobia and forced Russification, many being tricked into changing their citizenship. A large portion disappeared in gulags and other prisons, never to be seen again. Some were lucky and were able to reclaim their American citizenship and return to the safety of the capitalist U.S.

Anything Finnish was outlawed eventually by the Soviets. Arrests and purges followed in order to force the Finnish group to comply with Stalinism. If both parents were arrested, younger children were placed in orphanages and the “children lost their ethnic identity.”

A study published in Finland in 1934 described that the Finns had been so deceived by the Soviet utopia that “even the most red-hot communists have turned snowy white in their political opinions in a very brief period.”

Michael Gelb wrote in 1993 Karelian Fever: The Finnish Immigrant Community During Stalin’s Purges that “virtually all those who could leave Karelia did.”

After the communist Finns realized what Soviet life was really like, how dreadful and dreary, many returned to the capitalist America. Perhaps more Finns would have gone back but Russian authorities held their Soviet passports and did not allow them to go back to the United States.

Under communism, if one was issued a passport and visa for a specific trip, once they returned, if they were not able or smart enough to defect to the West, they had to surrender the passport to the police. A trip and the visa had to be approved months prior to departure and most of the time the petitions were denied.

The excited Finnish communists who left capitalism in America in order to build socialism in the Soviet Union quickly learned that it was a system based on fear and imprisonment of body, mind, and soul.

Mayme Sevander was unable to suitably describe the deep-seated fear but she admitted that “Russians’ lives have been ruled by fear since the days of Ivan the Terrible. As adopted Russians, we American Finns shared that fear.”

Determined to repeat disastrous Marxist history, today’s American communists and other low information agitators, activists, and voters, who plan to replace capitalism with socialism, are carrying the Bolshevik torch and the same Karelian communist fever from the turn of the 20^th century.  

                                                                                               

Communism Revived as Globalism

“It’s a brave new world,” one in which radicals are elected to high office in a system more corrupt and ignorant than ever imagined possible. The voters believe in the “shiny illusions of socialist/communist hell and are racing to implementation.”

Americans are not quite sure when the surge to communism finally planted its roots in the population at large and things began to change. Some argue it was the 1950s, others the 1960s. Over time, the corrupt main stream media and the progressive-controlled education system brought us slowly but surely to today when good people are overwhelmed by manufactured news and personal attacks meant to marginalize anyone who disagrees with the socialist agenda, while the entire system of liberty and justice for all is collapsing.

The dangerous cult of personality which mesmerized an entire nation into submission to a magical black president now includes Millennials like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), who, despite her International Relations degree, is, by her own admission, totally ignorant of world politics, and two Muslim women who took their oath on a book that contradicts everything our Constitution stands for and are flinging vulgarities and anti-Israel /anti-American insults to the American public.

The same MSM that gives them ample air time to insult anyone who disagrees with them, was mostly silent when three new Congressmen, real American heroes and Purple Heart recipients, were sworn in, the “5 eyes, 5 arms, 4 legs … All American” as Rep. Mast said.  Jim Baird (R-Indiana) lost his left arm in Vietnam. Brian Mast (R-Florida) lost both legs in Afghanistan. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) lost his right eye in Afghanistan.  Nobody saw them on the evening news but air time was extended ad nauseam to the “new breed of women politicians” who offends us with overt anti-Americanism.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s strong and strange socialist charisma appeals to a large segment of the American population, liberals and Democrats alike, who have made a cult hero out of a former bartender.

Maduro of Venezuela was a taxi driver before he became president.  He appealed to low-information voters who have now managed to self-destruct under the leadership or lack thereof of a socialist, long on rhetoric, and short on the knowledge how to successfully lead a country rich in petroleum, a formerly prosperous nation, now a basket case of poverty, rationing, and hunger. He drove it into the ground, turning into the hell-hole of socialism that it is today.

The Cuban model, the Castro brothers communist dictatorship, ended in disaster in Venezuela just as it did everywhere else socialism/communism had been tried.

Should she be ignored in hope that she goes away back to the obscurity she came from? Liberals are already talking of making her president. People with real skill, intellect, sound judgment, and logical arguments must speak out with intelligence and force. But when they do, would anybody listen?
I am not at all surprised that young and old Americans alike are suddenly infatuated with the empty promises of socialism and communism and do not listen to reason. Decades of socialist indoctrination in public schools and progressive MSM are finally paying off for Democrats and their globalist fellow travelers.

In the country of my birth, where millions have suffered and died under the boot of socialism and of Ceausescu’s Communist Party dictatorship, there does not appear to exist a significant and strong conservative wing, politics in Parliament swing back and forth between socialists and communists. How is that possible when their parents and extended families lived in such hell of fear and brutal oppression for decades?

Young Romanians view any foreigners, no matter how poor in their own countries and how far left leaning they are, as rich capitalists who abuse and steal from the poor. Their parents have been told for decades under communism that capitalists exploit the working class, out to steal their rights to utopian communism that left them hungry, cold, and poor in perpetuity. It is extraordinarily bizarre to see young generations, with their smart phones, cars, plenty of food, and other electronic gadgets produced by capitalism, indoctrinated by schools and the media into believing that free-market capitalism poses a fundamental threat to their avowed neo-communism.

A young American friend, who currently lives with his wife in Romania, is considering moving his family to America. As Darius explained, “she’s fixated on the idea of living in an America that probably hasn’t existed since the 1990s at the latest.” He is afraid to discuss any conservative ideas with the young Romanians who openly and proudly express their communist affiliation, rejecting all other ideas that contradict and diverge from their proletarian ideology.

It is no surprise that such young people were indoctrinated by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who made their way into the Iron Curtain as soon as it “fell” in 1990. George Soros boasted in an interview that he was the first to be given access into Romania after Christmas 1989 when Ceausescu was executed for communist crimes against his own people. Soros allegedly met with the minister of education to discuss the new curricula post Ceausescu’s regime.  Scores of young Romanians studied abroad with financial help from his foundations, assuring their allegiance to the new world globalism.

I have met several such students in 1991, who had been brought to an all-black southern U.S. college to study for Masters Degrees in management. When the two-year university indoctrination ended, they went back to work in the recently fashioned government comprised of former communist upper echelon apparatchiks who had rebranded themselves into the new world globalists.

The “sudden” infatuation of the West with socialism/communism has been developing over decades as the communists had planned to go underground and rebrand themselves into the global communists of today, championed by the United Nations and “civil society,” meaning intellectuals, academics, and other lapdogs of liberalism who advertise and promote everything the U.N. publishes.

Vladimir Bukovsky explained these phenomena in the upcoming English version of his book, “Judgment in Moscow.” He had found documents in Russia to prove that the reason the horrific crimes of the former Soviet Union and its satellites were not punished like the Nazi crimes were fifty years before was the “Kremlin’s links to and influence over Western political parties, governments, media, and prominent individuals, as revealed in the documents. It was these powerful links, he writes, that prevented any push to prosecute the extreme human rights abuses that took place over the decades of Soviet rule. As a result, the Communist Party and KGB elite were left to regroup and re-establish their power – with new names and new methods, perhaps, but the same goal: to undermine Western democracy.”

The Tyranny of the Oppressed and of Minorities

Half of the U.S. population believes that it is a good idea and high time that our country became socialist, on the way to communism. We are told ad nauseam by the highly organized Marxist left that the other communist countries that failed so miserably, oppressed their own people, and killed millions of them, failed because they did not do it the right way. What this “right way” is, nobody really understands or can even attempt to explain. But they repeat it because it sounds right and progressively utopian.

They have carefully listened day and night to the propaganda coming from the labor unions, teacher unions, the academia indoctrinating college students, public school indoctrinating mills, Hollywood movies and immoral starlets who make millions and pretend to be paragons of virtue and knowledge, the main stream media indoctrination, the socialist Democrat Party and its race-baiting members, and NFL players who make millions while pretending to fight for social justice, code word for communism.

It will be interesting to see moronic football players lose their millions and lavish lifestyles while adhering to the communist-dictated equal pay across the board, regardless of effort, talent, training, skill, or education. Living in a two-bedroom apartment made of cinder blocks, without an expensive car and a huge bank account should teach them humility at the barrel of a gun held by the agents of daddy omnipotent government they so desire.

But none are as destructive to our society as the Democrat script readers of the main stream media, pretending to be journalists, graduates of the indoctrinating mills in our many colleges and universities around the country. The pretend-journalists continue the communist indoctrination that started in kindergarten, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in every state many decades ago.

The communist tree planted in this country is finally bearing fruit and these fruits are toxic and poisonous to our Constitutional Republic. These rotten fruits want to destroy and replace our Constitution, socially-engineer our demographics, black or white, by allowing any enemy into our country through open borders, and fundamentally changing our society by fascistic means.

I described in my book, Echoes of Communism, what life was like living under communism for twenty years. I have not made any converts though, even among my high school and college students; on the contrary, ever more young people think that how Scandinavian people live is the best – socialism for all.  After all, aren’t they supposed to be the happiest people on earth? I was told this recently by a naïve young lady with bright blue eyes. I asked her if that is true, how come Sweden pays such confiscatory taxes and has been taken over by Islam and has become the rape capital of the world? How is that happiness?

The indoctrination of political correctness (PC), her forfeiture of freedom of speech did not seem to ring a bell that she has lost the freedoms we are so proud of in America when we no longer can express a divergent opinion anywhere without being labeled racists, homophobes, Islamophobias, shunned, lose our jobs, pay fines, and even go to jail.

Political Correctness originated as a joke in a comic strip but it has devolved into Cultural Marxism.  Bill Lind correctly identified Political Correctness and Classical Marxism as totalitarian ideologies. He said,

The tyranny of the virtuous and imagined “oppressed” and of minorities has transformed our country into a basket of totalitarian control through fascist and communist methods.

It is no coincidence that PC (Cultural Marxism) uses powerful tools to indoctrinate such as revisionist history, pop culture, environmentalism, and sex. They have been used before by Marxists during the communist revolution of 100 years ago.

During my years of teaching, we made fun of political correctness – nobody took it really serious but people knew how to disguise certain ideas or lest they’d never get promoted, get tenure, better offices, or cushy conference circuits.

PC has become today an ideology that is guarded in the halls of academia and enforced in many cases by the power of the state. We now have “hate crimes” with jail sentences which are nothing but punishing people for their political views and thoughts. The prisoners during WWII used to sing a song that is no longer true today, Die Gedanken sind frei (Thoughts are free), meaning that they can imprison your body but not your thoughts. Well, they are imprisoning people’s bodies for their thoughts today.

Conservative students and faculty are terrorized on campuses for their thoughts if they diverge from the approved campus Political Correctness. This happened in communist Russia, fascist Germany, communist China, and fascist Italy and it is still happening in Cuba and North Korea.

PC is destroying our culture and our freedoms, bringing down our tolerant Western culture and capitalism. The idea that wealthy billionaire athletes are kneeling for social justice in a country with the highest standard of living in the world and anarchists in the streets and in academia are shaming Caucasians for their imagined “white privilege,” is appalling.

College professors naming white families and their children and the laws of inheritance as a root cause in perpetuating white supremacy in tolerant America is an unbelievable farcical development that nobody seems willing to address.

We have become a lawless, irrational society ruled by a mob of tyrant collegiate snowflakes, aggressive professors, activist judges, the non-existent “oppressed” and tyrannical minorities who are not satisfied with tolerance, diversity, and Affirmative Action.

Communists groomed by the teachers’ and labor unions are exalting the Soviet Union as the role model of the first socialist state, with no unemployment, no illiteracy, free education from kindergarten to college, free medical care, and living in peace with one hundred different nationalities. These are lies on all fronts but most Americans, who did not pay much attention to factual history or stayed awake in a history class, would never know the truth if it slapped them in the face.

None of the countries where socialism/communism existed had full employment - people pretended to work and the state pretended to pay them. Everybody had a right to a job but the job was not worth having and it did not pay much. People were abused on the job and often killed when they were sent to do dangerous jobs without any protective gear.

Most people could read but were not able to advance to higher education; the number of places in college were limited and reserved for the elites and their children. The rest, if lucky, went to technical middle schools and high schools.

Medical care was appalling and millions died of simple surgical procedures and treatable conditions, died on the operating table, or from lack of simple drugs or vitamins due to chronic shortages. Insufficiently educated communist apparatchiks were not particularly adept at planning centralized economies even five years ahead.

The proletariat and multiple ethnicities lived in peace because the very powerful police and secret police kept an armed iron fist on all citizens, watched them 24/7 and threw them in gulags at the earliest sign of dissention or misbehavior. The police state was very adept at keeping peace through murder and hard prison time.

Individualism and the desire to succeed and invent were squashed while group-think was demanded for the collective good.

The communists and anarchists in this country make promises and set goals they cannot possibly deliver. Overcoming alleged racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia through state laws is not freedom, it is tyranny. The Communist Party USA wants to replace our Bill of Rights with a “Bill of Rights Socialism.”

Just because we are a seemingly wealthy country today with a robust GDP and still have a powerful military, will not guarantee that our foray into totalitarian socialism will be successful. It will be just another form of tyranny that appeared good in speeches and on paper.  The U.S. will not be different than any other country that has tried socialism/communism.  Additionally, America is in debt up to its collective eye-balls, $20 trillion and counting, because Congress cannot stop spending us into unpayable national debt. Even if we confiscate all the wealth ever created in this country, it will only last a mere month at the current rate of spending. And then, what will we do?

Anarchist community organizers and communist labor union leaders do not mention that the wealth that has been created in this country and the powerful military have been bought and paid for by successful capitalism, not communism or socialism. If you look at the Fabian socialist economies of Europe, their governments are bankrupt despite high taxes, and have little military to defend them and not enough police to protect citizens from the enemies within.

America under totalitarian socialism/communism will not be a society of free individuals; it will be a society akin to the college campuses where any dissention and divergent opinion will be silenced through violence and oppression using fascistic tactics.

Communism has never worked and will never work because individuals are not altruistic enough to give up all their work and their free time in the service and enslavement to other individuals who are lazy and unmotivated to work or to contribute their fair and equal share. Communism breeds a welfare- dependent society that looks up to the omnipotent government to care for them from cradle to grave. That is not freedom.

Education Created and Promoted Progressivism, ANTIFA, and BLM

As a parent who struggles to pay tuition for their child at the average university in America, or goes in debt borrowing the money, consider what your child must face in order to finish four years of college education which may or may not help them get a job.

The American campus is no longer the place of learning, to discuss and exchange ideas, it has become a place of indoctrination, of fear, a place where your children are further indoctrinated, and are not prepared to deal with or function in real life and in the job world.

Students have to deal with bullies, who call themselves “social justice warriors,” who are as far removed from justice and warriors as they can possibly be. They have to deal with college professors who are obsessed with quotas, perverted sex novels, ethnic studies, invented “white guilt,” “white privilege,” and “micro-aggression,” manufactured constructs that are now suffocating every corner in America.

Your children demand and are sent to “safe spaces” where they escape from reality, from any concept or person that contradicts their fantasy world where they have dwelt since birth. They’ve been told their entire lives how special they are, and have received so many undeserved awards each year, they see themselves as real trophies who can waltz through school by virtue of who they are.

Students claim, they are so stressed from school that they demand no grades be given for their poor attendance or non-performance; sadly, half the schools in the country have obliged.

Your students must deal with classes in which they are afraid to express a different opinion from the teacher’s, lest they be dropped from class, failed, or expelled.

Your child may be beaten by mobs of minority students simply because they’ve been oppressed and your Caucasian student happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and catch the ire of their wrath.

Your child is subject to different theories of education methodology that come and go. Experimental surveys and tests supplement these hair-brained fads designed by different College of Education professors in order to justify their existence, their fat salaries, and to make the conference circuits around the country and the world as speakers. When it is obvious that Johnny is doing worse and is unable to pass the tests that have nothing to do with what was taught, and parents revolt, the fad is dropped.

Your child is indoctrinated into Marxism blatantly or subtly in every subject matter – nothing escapes the radar of the tenured college brain-washer. They find clever ways to insert their subjective ideological view of communist utopia into every lesson plan.

Your child studies and receives excellent scores on ACTs and SATs but is disappointed when someone with lesser scores is admitted to college ahead of them simply based on their socio-economic profile and the color of their skin.

These minorities, protected based on the color of their skin, not their intellectual merit, have created a society that is no longer based on merit, but on affirmative action, diversity, and “social justice.” It is these “social justice warriors,” as they euphemistically named themselves that are creating the chaos in our society.

History does repeat itself because these ANTIFA, BLM, and other fascist and race-baiters learned a revisionist history in school. They are very busy, with funds from well-placed billionaires, echoing the actions of the Bolsheviks, Taliban, and ISIS, who have destroyed priceless artifacts of history.

Sanitizing history because they did not like the Civil War, these “social justice warriors” cleverly indoctrinated by their college professors and agitated by neo-communists/globalists and progressive anti-Americans are fast removing any traces of our history under the guise of white nationalism. These statues have been on display for almost a century and longer, nobody batted an eye on seeing them but now, they are suddenly offensive and traumatic.

They are not going to stop at Confederate monuments. They will destroy other parts of history they do not like, i.e., Lincoln, Ted Roosevelt, WWII, etc. How long will it be before they go after churches?

Instead of having a History Department, we will have the Fiction Department. Just like George Orwell had warned us in 1950.

And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Ceausescu, the Taliban, and ISIS have ordered the destruction of history, books, painting, statues, and the renaming of schools and streets. It ended badly in the enslavement and death of millions of innocents.

The brain-washed fascist and progressive groups, with no solid point of historical reference, have painted every white person with the same brush of hate-mongers, even though most of the hate and the violence are coming from the left. Caucasians are suddenly evil “white nationalists.”

Since when is maintaining self-governance, sovereignty over one’s homeland, preserving a national identity based on culture, language, race, religion, political goals, patriotism, and belief in a common ancestry, hateful and racist?

The fads in education come and go but they are presented as facts and “evidence-based.”

Shane Vander Hart wrote a recent article, irately criticizing an educational propaganda post which was praising “social-emotional learning as good for the economy” and urging readers to look at Mindful meditation. It cites large companies with entirely leftist leanings and culture and the tiny country of Bhutan as success stories in using social-emotional learning (SEL), another educational fad pushed by the left. Because most people are economically ignorant, they don’t know that “Economic growth is the increase in the market value of the goods and services produced in the economy over time. It is measured as the percentage rate change in the real gross domestic product (GDP). Determinants of long-run growth include growth of productivity, demographic changes, and labor force participation.”

Forcing children to meditate in class is not going to create jobs, will not alter demographics, immigration policies do, and will not affect productivity. Math and science knowledge, not the Common Core variety, will make a better mechanic, builder, engineer, doctor, scientist, nurse, chemist, physicist, researcher, and statistician.

As Vander Hart wrote in his article, “Do you know what would help boost kids’ self-esteem and happiness in school? Being able to understand math and to read well. Do you know what would help our economy down the road? Graduates being able to understand math, be well read, be able to write well, and who have a well-rounded education.”

Un-sanitized, non-revisionist history will live for a while through those who were eye witnesses such as my friend, “Ironman.” In his own words, he describes the negative changes that have occurred in the last decades which I attribute to the brainwashing of academia, Hollywood, communist foreign infiltrators, and the main stream media.

I fondly recall the high standards in the news and entertainment media when a radio announcer would never even say ‘Hel’” or ‘damn’ for fear of losing his broadcasting license, and the uplifting movies like ‘Going My Way’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ that were typical of our entertainment fare. Before globalization I recall when a man’s factory salary supported his many children, with mom in the home, and he could expect a significant pay raise each year. I recall when the safest person in America was the baby in the womb, in contrast to the 61 million innocents that have been brutally murdered in the womb since 1973. I recall when nearly every black child was properly raised by having a father in the home, contrasted with the 72 percent now born to an unwed mother…..leading to a disordered family, supported forcefully by working taxpayers, and producing druggy members of gangs that often end up in prison. I certainly remember when the sole mission of our schools was to teach the three R’s as well as possible, not to indoctrinate their charges with liberal social precepts. I lament the 1970’s when universities stopped operating women’s dorms as safe, wholesome homes-away-from home, instead irresponsibly letting the male students in without limit.”

Western Europeans have been watching the vitriolic opposition to President Trump with great personal interest, wondering if Americans have lost their minds. Being the inveterate leftists that they are, even in the face of demographic suicide, they were rooting for a like-minded female socialist who vowed to turn the U.S. into the European basket case model of failed multiculturalism and diversity, flooding their countries with more and more Islamists in order to forever change the western culture into a Caliphate. The MSM reported ad litteram the same Teleprompter talking points, that she was the most experienced statesman of the two. No mention of her corruption or scandals, just a constant digging for fabricated dirt on then candidate Trump.

Eastern Europeans thought Americans have lost their minds, afflicted by the progressivist, anti-American malaise, having mounted ever-escalating mob violence and anarchic opposition to the Trump presidency, funded, flamed, and organized by rich billionaires, Hollywood stars, crony capitalists, academia, and the main street media.  The black-clad and masked rioters have been beating up anybody who does not share their twisted view of the world, silencing any opposition on America’s campuses, especially at Berkeley.

No Eastern European can understand why the former bastion of progress, the shiny city on the hill, the America of Europe’s hopes and dreams, has suddenly decided to cut its own healthy veins, throbbing with wealthy blood, just to watch the patient die an untimely death.

How did patriotic Americans manage to send the Marxist brainwashed of America into a frenzy of daily protests and vitriolic talk in the MSM, Hollywood, and other halls of power, hunting down mercilessly President Trump, his family, and anyone who works for him, or who supports him? Which masters are these anti-American “global citizens” serving and why? Are they tired of their abundant lifestyle, of their civilization, of their success, and want to throw it all away for the utopian promise of failed Marxism and to the 7^th century denizens of Islamic theocracy in the name of insane tolerance and diversity?

Sane Americans and Europeans do not understand why Cultural Marxists engage in cultural and historical vandalism in all countries in which they advocate for suicidal diversity and multiculturalism.

The Democrat Party Marxists are still looking for ways to invalidate the presidential election even though Trump had much more electoral votes than his opponent who allegedly had more popular votes coming from illegal alien voters.

The entire “civil society,” meaning the united leftist agitators around the globe, was incensed when President Trump dared to mention the Islamist attack in Sweden and the religionists of peace who burned down businesses and private property the night before, as shown on Fox News. For some reason, suicidal European bureaucrats are burying the truth, the violence, the rapes, and the destruction of their countries in order not to offend the Muslims.

It will be interesting to watch what will happen with the vote in France this weekend, a vote that will decide if France is determined to survive as a western civilized nation or to continue on the path of multiculturalist self-destruction.  Marie Le Pen promises to end Islamist refugee migration.

The EU bureaucrats joined the protest chorus over President Trump’s “inhumane and xenophobic” fence on the border with Mexico. I suppose the fences erected between EU nations and other countries around the globe, including Mexico’s wall with its borders, Belize and Guatemala, are more “humane?” India shares its border with Pakistan; it is lit by 150,000 floodlights which give off so much light that it is visible from space as an orange glowing line.

The elite globalists are exporting “democracy” around the third world through wars and forced U.N. policies disguised as Sustainable Development to allegedly save the planet from anthropogenic global warming/climate change. The climate change industry and its sycophant lobby have become very powerful since it is worth now trillions of dollars of easy money. It is nothing but exploitation of the poor and of the middle class using environmentalism as a weapon.  As Hans-Hermann Hoppe said, “Democracy has nothing to do with freedom. Democracy is a soft variant of communism, and rarely in the history of ideas has it been taken for anything else.”

Multinationals and non-government organizations (NGOs) have so much money at stake; they are more powerful and wealthier than most countries.  They are at the forefront of the fight against President Trump’s administration and his nationalist policies. They are instrumental in passing treaties like TPP, NAFTA, and laws that are anti-American, do not benefit the American taxpayers, and represent solely the interests of the elite billionaires around the globe.

Multinational corporations and their interests had and still have an important role in the evolution of the economic, social, and political climate around the globe. United Nations, technocrats, and corrupt politicians are the instruments of implementation of all globalist policies and treaties that will eventually eliminate all borders and create a global hodge-podge of billions of people without any national identity, migrating around the globe, and controlled by the globalist elites through settlements, food or lack thereof, water, land, and medical help.

The fight of a potential WWIII will be the fight to install the new world order through the following:

-          Uniform culture

-          Uniform law

-          Mixing nationalities and races

-          Destruction of national pride

-          Destruction of borders

-          Weakening of states until they are no longer relevant

-          Destruction of the family

-          Destruction of religion

-          One world authority under U.N.

-          Total control and supervision of the individual through technology

-          One single currency

-          One single army

If we consider the percentage of Americans who have bought into this globalist agenda blindly and are trying to replace Americanism with Cultural Marxism and Islamo-fascism, we can perhaps answer my question with a definitive yes - Americans have lost their collective minds.

 

 

FORWARD to Globalist Existence

The glossy magazine came in the mail a few days ago from my alma mater’s College of Education, with this unfortunate name printed in big, white, bold letters, lest you miss it, FORWARD.

Maybe the dean had no idea that FORWARD graced all propaganda materials for Germany’s Social Democratic Party, Vorwärts (Forward), founded in 1876, and that it is still published monthly today and mailed to all Social Democratic Party (SPD) members. Was he trying to exclude all students who did not hold that political leaning, or was he trying to convert them all?

The German paper named FORWARD published the writings of Friedrich Engels, Kurt Tucholsky, Russian Marxist economists, the Mensheviks, and Leon Trotsky. Strangely, it refused to publish any articles by Vladimir I. Lenin.

Interestingly, Adolf Hitler sued the paper for libel in 1923 and won 6 million marks. It had claimed that Hitler was financed by “American Jews and Henry Ford.”

Because the Social Democratic Party of Germany was banned during the Nazi era, its publication, Vorwärts (Forward), stopped in 1933 but continued in Czechoslovakia until 1938 and Paris until 1940.

Perhaps the dean is not channeling this German publication, he is moving forward to globalism, ready to create with each graduating class the global citizens of tomorrow who believe in social justice, environmental justice, and gender justice.

The indoctrination into political correctness of the last decades is finally bearing fruit – campuses have become the most intolerant places in society, spaces where free and divergent speech should be embraced by all. Yet violent mobs are protesting conservatives who come to speak or debate, preventing them from exercising their freedom of speech. Hurling rocks and words such as racists and violent fascists, these intolerant mobs are engaging in the very act they are protesting against while conservatives remain peaceful.

Administrators, professors, and parents alike are complicit in the indoctrination of our youth into an anti-American culture of hatred and intolerance. They are no longer graduating with a useful, marketable degree, with knowledge that they can improve lives and our country. They are a collective group of whiny, effeminate, drug-addled, terribly misguided, without an ethical and religious compass, and filled to the brim with illogical, morally reprehensible habits and ideas.

Their professors have drilled multi-culturalism and diversity into their brains to the point that they admire primitive cultures and worship the enemies of western civilization.  No graduate stops to think, but what exactly is this diversity doing for the economic success of our country? Is there tangible evidence that a company is successful because it proudly advertises its diverse work force? Do genial ideas come from a diverse work force that follows the orders of the boss? No, ideas come from the freedom to think and to raise capital, from the opportunity to develop human capital; constructive ideas do not come from divisive Marxist conversations and endless racial baiting, indoctrination, and protests about impossible equality, gender, and social justice.

The much maligned white male and the white race have developed the bulk of inventions that have created a western civilization unlike any other. Why exactly are leftists trying to dismantle it piece by piece? What are they going to replace it with? The seventh century existence of the religionists of hate and the Orwellian world of the control-freak globalists?  Why are they trying to destroy every remnant of our American history, good or bad, and to replace it with their revisionist history? Isn’t that what the rabid Islamists have done with the abundant archeological evidence of our past human history which they’ve blown up and erased into sad craters of ignorance and savagery?

Shouldn’t professors teach their communism-loving students that “greater economic freedom represents greater economic development,” a longer, healthier, and happier life? Shouldn’t they inculcate the idea that a country without borders is not a country and that stemming illegal immigration and refugee resettlement from countries that are hotbeds of terrorism endangers everybody’s future? We must also stop listening to the assorted alphabet soup main stream media outlets, the real purveyors of fake news, manufactured news concocted with one idea in mind, to brainwash the masses into their socialist indoctrination narrative.

We must stop watching the movies of the “bitter, unhappy, angry, divisive people of the entertainment industry” as well.  As Edward D. Spitaletta said in his boycott the Academy Award email, “These arrogant, pompous, pampered, soulless individuals declare that half of Americans are racist, sexist, and bigoted for voicing our political choice through Donald Trump. Yet there can be no doubt that the entertainment industry does more to exploit, degrade, minimize, and stereotype women than Donald Trump or any other industry ever has. From Madonna and Miley Cyrus parading on stage while grabbing their crotches and allowing fans to do the same, to movies that depict women as whores, sluts, and gold-diggers dependent on their bodies for survival, to the deplorable speeches of Madonna and Ashley Judd talking about their periods in a vile manner,” Hollywood is a cesspool of degenerates who should not be role models for any generation.

My friend Carmel argued “how ‘Underdog’ cartoons turned out generations of pill popping grownups - what did Underdog do when he needed more power? He opened his ‘ring with the secret compartment’ and took the ‘power pill’ hidden inside.”

There is a real battle for our children’s minds, especially those who “don’t come from a large family and are by themselves too long,” said Carmel. The damage done may be irreversible for many of them.

No matter where the mantra FORWARD is coming from, dark Hollywood dressed in sick pink, academia, or the main stream media, it is a prescription for globalism and destruction of western civilization at the behest of billionaire elites who are in love with freedom-robbing social engineering and the desire to play God.
