Offensive Communist Lies

Communist dictators indoctrinate the masses with offensive lies on many subjects. In his book, Pinstripes and Reds, Ambassador Funderburk coined the term “Ceausescuisms,” referring to the peculiar lies spun by the communist dictator.

“Romania’s religious policy is more liberal than that of the U.S,” said the Romanian dictator. That was such a blatant lie, there was no liberalism in his communist society where “every institution or group had to be registered by the state.” Lecturing a U.S. Congressional delegation in 1983, Ceausescu told them that he “did not need any more American type of religious groups, such as a third Baptist cult in Romania.”

Religion in his police state was tightly controlled by the Communist Party which had infiltrated heavily its Orthodox Church ranks in seminaries. For Seminaries to be allowed to exist, they had to be approved by the state, and so did the church parishes. The priests had to be approved by the Communist Party, even in remote villages. Priests survived financially with a small monthly salary paid by the state and from parishioners’ donations.

There were some priests who were honest and did not comply with the communist party dictates on faith, but they were few and far between. Their sermons did not indoctrinate the faithful into submission to communist rule. Some were heavily persecuted for their religious beliefs which they imparted honestly to the faithful despite the discomfort their actions caused them. Some were tortured and even killed in the many communist prisons.

The church was allowed to exist because it was a convenient tool to control the population, for weddings, baptisms, and burials. Regular participation in services every week was discouraged except for old ladies in rural areas. Nobody cared how often they attended services.

I genuinely believed that, once the communists “fell” from power in 1989, the church will be free of the police state control and people will worship liberally. It is true that more than 6,000 churches have been built and many repaired, but the numbers of the faithful did not swell as much as expected. People, who had been severely brainwashed by decades of communist oppression, were resentful that the state was spending money to build and repair churches instead of building schools and hospitals.

Young generations were schooled in the west, some in the country, but all used curricula and textbooks written by George Soros’ NGOs that penetrated Romania right after the December 1989 revolution and Christmas 1989 execution of the Ceausescus.

Their education was saturated with globalist ideas and the new religion of environmentalism and Mother Gaia worship, to the detriment of humans. The youth, like everywhere else in the world, were encouraged to separate themselves from history, from who they were, from where they came from, and to become global citizens beholden to a globalist government at the U.N.

Milan Kundera wrote very aptly in his book,

“The first step in liquidating a people is to erase its memory. Destroy its books, its culture, its history. Then have somebody write new books, manufacture a new culture, invent a new history. Before long that nation will begin to forget what it is and what it was... The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting.”

One story highlighted the level of brainwashing among young priests who were born and raised in the “free-of-communism” society, as members of the European Union since 2007.

While visiting Romania in 2015, I came upon a beautiful wood church in Poiana Brasov, near the famous ski slope where international competitions were held for many decades during the communist regime. Close to the church was a memorial to Liviu Cornel Babes, a 47-year-old Romanian electrician and painter, who committed suicide by immolation, coming down the Bradu ski slope at Poiana Brasov on March 2, 1989, to protest Ceausescu’s tyrannical regime. He was carrying the sign, “Stop Murder! Brasov = Auschwitz.” He lasted to the bottom of the slope where he fell off his skis, moaning in agonizing pain. He was not given any medical care at the hospital and died from his severe burns two hours later. He was not declared a hero until June 2007 (Law no. 93).

As I entered the beautiful but tiny Orthodox church, a young priest came over and started a conversation with me. I asked him about the memorial outside and, what the priest said, would not have shocked me during the communist regime when the Orthodox Church was heavily infiltrated by communists. Priests had to carry the Marxist indoctrination to the parishioners because they were paid by the police state and were allowed to be priests only with their permission. “If Liviu would have minded his own business and had done what the communist leaders told him to do, he might still be alive today.”

Here was this young priest, 26 years after communism “fell” on December 25, 1989, and yet he was advocating in 2015 that the population should have obediently embraced their oppressors and should have been submissive indefinitely to the communist tyranny.

Historically, if we study what happened in the communist colony at Plymouth, Massachusetts, we find that the religious men and women of the colony grew discontent with the commune life and resented each other; single men felt like slaves when they had to work for other men’s wives, and married women resented having to cook and do the laundry for their own husbands and for the single men in the colony.

It was clear, as W. Cleon Skousen wrote in The Naked Communist, “Communism cannot be practiced without setting up a dictatorship” because even religious men and women are not altruistic enough. Governor Bradford himself “concluded that Communism is not only inefficient but that it is unnatural and in violation of the laws of God.”

During the same December 1983 meeting with the U.S. Congressional delegation, the communist dictator asked of those present, “Don’t you wish you had only one political party in the U.S.?”

We have heard this same question uttered in the 21st century speeches, by Democrat politicians who wished that the U.S. had just one party in control of the country, copying the Chinese model of governance, which they believed to be perfect.

Today we have more than 30 states with a “trifecta,” the one-party rule (Democrat Party) of the Senate, the House, and the judiciary. Such Democrat states are mismanaged and corrupt, in financial dire needs which require heavy federal cash infusions, gang-ridden, and plagued by high crime.

The question I have asked rhetorically many times, still troubles me; has communism really died? Or has it just gone underground after 1989 and regrouped to infest and capture western cultures without bullets, violence, and force, just by indoctrination in schools and in the media owned by six corporations and beholden to the Democrat Party? The honest answer is, yes.

How Did He Subjugate So Many?

When I was growing up, I could not understand how an entire country was subdued into acceptance of their fate of living under the oppression of a tyrant installed in power by the Communist Party and the Soviet Bolshevik agents, a tyrant who was previously a shoe cobbler in his village of Scornicesti.

Yet this man, as Funderburk wrote, was able to “erase the past and construct a new man and society dependent upon the Communist Party and its organs of terror and intimidation.”  People were kept under the heavy boot of oppression because they were hungry, cold, controlled by abject fear, disarmed, and starved into submission by a huge army of Marxist cadre and well-armed militias and soldiers, composed of brothers, fathers, neighbors, and friends.

A few citizens in the more sparsely populated areas in the Carpathian Mountains, hid in the woods and kept their weapons, in opposition to the communists, but they were eventually rounded up and killed.

There was no place to hide from the well-paid informants of the Communist Party; often snitches were their own awfully close relatives, distant relatives, and even “best” friends turned informants, not because they believed in such an oppressive ideology, but because they wanted more food, medicine, medical care, and other scarce survival items.

Communist propaganda played each day on radio, television, political meetings, children’s shows, schools, and printed in newspapers, magazines, and on glossy posters. The music accompanying the daily propaganda was martial, somber, frightening, and deafening.

The Dear Leader was spoken of in biblical terms, he was the “creator of thought,” the “giver of strength,” and, in a Ministry of Truth Orwellian vein, he was the One who gave meaning and justification to our thoughts and ideas. Without him, a God-like figure, we were worth nothing, we were dust under his shoes.

We owned nothing in that miserable life, but we were NOT happy about it, just controlled into submission by fear and indoctrination. And it showed! You would have been hard-pressed to meet one smiling person on the street. Everybody frowned and crowded in never-ending store lines, on buses, and on trains, like sardines in a can. The evil and guilty, being driven around in fancy government-owned cars, controlled the good and the innocent.

Ceausescu was compared by his apparatchiks, poets, teachers, movie makers, writers, reporters, to famous historical figures like Stefan Cel Mare (Stephen the Great), Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), the bloody thirsty prince from the mid-1400s who disposed of his enemies through strange methods of incarceration, torture, savage beatings, or summary and quite painful executions.

Ceausescu was, according to posters and recitations we had to make daily in meetings at school and work, the framer of the “multilaterally developed socialist society and Romania’s advance to communism.” All we knew was the reality of gurgling empty tummies, bare pantries, and headaches from insufficient daily intake of calories.

Ceausescu was aggrandized to the point that he was featured in every classroom, every office, every workshop, every factory, inside public buildings, outside buildings, in sculptures, portraits, military decorations, churches, icons, paintings, banners, statues, monuments, poems, plays, and monologues. Nothing happened in Romania without his approval. His elaborate portrait was next to those of ancient kings, princes, and voivodes.

On national holidays such as August 23, celebrating the victory over fascism, or the anniversary of the union of Transylvania with the rest of Romania, we had to march on the main boulevard, dressed in our pioneers’ uniform with the red bandana around the neck, carrying flags, placards with phrases like ‘Long live communism,’ and portraits of the Dear Leader; but it was not a real celebration for that occasion, it was a total deification of the tyrant, “the father of the country,” “the light of knowledge and wisdom,” and many other absurd and outlandish phrases invented by communists to venerate the cobbler dictator and his semi-literate wife who “owned” a scientific doctoral degree she never earned.

We lived in an alternate universe, The Twilight Zone of sorts, where bad people were in charge and good people were slaves to communism, to the Dear Leader and his family, who lived in the lap of luxury in exorbitant villas thanks to confiscatory stealing from citizens and the theft of the national patrimony and impoverishment of the country. His foreign bank accounts held millions of dollars while the oppressed masses starved.

During plenary meetings, worshipping party members and those in attendance stood up every two or three minutes, clapping and shouting praises for the glorification of the dictator Ceausescu. While it was standard protocol to stand during the entrance of a country’s leader, U.S. Ambassador David Funderburk refused to stand as often after the initial standing at his entrance, and was, according to his recollection, blacklisted.

The worshipping went so far that, on his 67th birthday, Ceausescu was compared to Orion (“Luceafarul”), born at Scornicesti, “Nicolae with a laurel crown.” Imagine the nausea of having to take part in such surreal events.

Nobody dared to mention God on Romanian television, because, to the communists, atheism was their religion and Ceausescu was god. The word God had not been mentioned in the media after the Bolsheviks took over the country.

But one man, Ambassador David B. Funderburk, dared to use the word God in his July 4, 1982, television address to the Romanian people. Ambassador Funderburk recounts in his book, that month’s later church goers in the far north told him how dear and meaningful the word God was to them, knowing that it came from the President of the United States at the time, Ronald Reagan. . .... “Let us pray that God will guide us and future generations in preserving the liberty that is the essence of the American spirit.” (David B. Funderburk, Pinstripes and Reds, Selous Foundation Press, 1987, p. 107)

Ceausescu had an army of controllers on the Communist Party payroll, i.e., the dreaded Securitate, the economic police, the street police, factory activists, school activists, and informants on every city block, street, apartment complex, and each entrance to the many public buildings, churches, schools, hospitals, factories, and libraries.

Nothing was left to chance and everything and everybody was constantly watched. His army worked hard to track the rest of us because they had low level technology, no Internet, computers, and smart phones.

Doctors and nurses were ardent supporters of the police state and highly compliant. Teachers followed the directives of the Ministry of Education. Fear and extra pay to help one survive were strong motivators.

We could not turn to churches for comfort because most priests were also informants to the Securitate and were on Ceausescu’s payroll. They helped keep the praying masses subdued and under control. Churches were kept open for baptisms, weddings, and burials and as a way for Ceausescu to know when the small underground opposition organized events.

The Marxist Cultural Revolution

"The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudo-science and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.” —Carl Sagan

The Marxist Cultural Revolution is in full swing with social emotional learning.  Who needs academics when you have Marxist indoctrination?

One of the first things I noticed when I first landed in America of the late seventies was how unfamiliar with their own history, world geography, and mathematics Americans were, even those with college degrees, yet they were not ashamed to confess it, they were quite proud of their lack of knowledge. I wondered then, how did America become so successful with so much ignorance walking about?

Surely, I thought, it was not the fault of the public schools. It must have been that America was such a vast country, far removed from the rest of the world and separated by two oceans. They did not need to know.

The Internet was just a pipe dream in sci fi novels. There was a large following of readers who delighted in sci fi, western, and romance novels. It was a time when there were sales of door-to-door encyclopedias and dictionary salesmen. People living in the country areas subscribed to the Book of the Month Club or borrowed books from libraries on wheels.

As such a large country, few seemed to read much unless it was something high schools and colleges required. It was quite fascinating when I discovered that my next-door neighbor, a highly regarded and published college professor, spent his free time reading romance novels.

I never thought at the time, having just escaped a strict socialist regime ruled by the Communist Party, that I would ever have to worry about it in this vast and free country where people did what they pleased and what they found enriching – going to church, picnics, family events and gatherings, football, and baseball on weekends.

As decades passed, Marxist elements in the public schools grew louder and louder and more influential. Textbooks were rewriting American history, demonizing America and glorifying socialism and Marxism. Parents never pushed back against this tidal wave of indoctrination, they assumed that teachers and administrators did their jobs they were trained to do – educating young minds to protect America’s bright future.

Dr. Aurel Mircea, a defector from a communist regime, having found freedom and opportunity for achievement in America, wrote: “Marxism-Leninism has been successfully disseminated in the Land of the Free; we are now having a few generations of USEFUL IDIOTS calling the policies and deciding America's future.”

Ron Ewart wrote, “In the name of racism and so-called equity and diversity, we are creating a nation of morons. The U. S. government, special interests, and academically educated idiots are literally tailoring a society based on the lowest common denominator, in an attempt to prop up and pander to a single race. To accommodate Black and Latino learning disabilities, we’re dumbing down the White and Asian races.

On top of that, we have replaced reason, logic, intellect, common sense, and objective learning with diversity, reverse racism, and racial emotion, creating never-ending racial tension in our entire culture.”

The newest Marxist tide of destruction is “cancel culture,” young generations appointing themselves the arbiters of right and wrong, judge, jury, and executioner. Thanks to the social media and corporations, the cancel culture promoters get to dole out retribution to those who oppose their wave of cultural destruction. Past history is judged through the lenses of their 21st century woke sensibilities. Nobody is immune to punishment if they come in the crosshairs of the “cancel culture” Marxist movement.

Everything that was good about America became evil in 2020. People who love America found themselves out of a job, out of social circles, censored on social media, censored in person, diminished, disparaged, demonized, and barred from participating in college life, organizations, college courses, and conferences. A Corona virus gave this Marxist group in America an opportunity to invent 50 different ways to rob half of America of their rights and freedom of speech.

Suddenly, it is elitist to mark down bad spelling, to give bad grades to those who fail, to achieve, to learn advanced mathematics, real science, chemistry, and other difficult courses because it makes the non-achievers feel bad about themselves and it is thus racist.

Enter Critical Race Theory (CRT) already present in most public, private, and charter schools in America, the most tolerant country on the planet. CRT is an indoctrinating tool through racial identity, divisiveness, and hatred through skin color.

The current American schools’ and the mainstream media’s talking points narrative of “systemic racism, white privilege, whiteness, oppressors and the oppressed,” was brought to America to Columbia University in 1930s New York by Marxist academics from Goethe University (Frankfurter School) in Frankfurt, Germany.

These German Marxists undermined American traditional principles using the ideology of Critical Theory which attacked all societal norms through the promise of revolution [cultural revolution], the seeds of which have finally sprouted today into a huge forest of Marxism, watered constantly by American professors and teachers who graduated from universities that modeled their College of Education teacher curriculum for decades after the Columbia University’s Marxist model.

Ideological conformity and Marxist equity were enforced in communist countries by the security police (Stasi in Germany) and its vast network of activists and informers. Because of today’s advanced technology, these same goals are achieved in America with the help of big tech companies who censor any dissenting, patriotic “thought criminals,” who dare post, comment, write, or publish on their social platforms and on the Internet in general.

Millions of illegal aliens are clamoring to cross our southern border illegally, to enter our country that these Marxist radicals consider a “white supremacist country” riddled with “systemic racism.”  If that were true, why in the world would anyone want to come to such a country? Why wouldn’t they go to what the left considers the best places in the world to be, like Amsterdam?  As the talented cartoonist Branco wrote about illegal aliens knocking at the border wall, “Please let us in so we can become victims of systemic racism and white supremacy.”

Modern Marxists realized that the major obstacles to their revolution in the vein of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Castro, and Mao, “workers of the world unite,” were the family, Christian faith, a Republican government, nation-states, reason, and free speech. These were stumbling blocks in the march towards a totalitarian Marxist state and thus a world government. Bit by bit these “stumbling blocks” are being destroyed in all western societies simultaneously, taking advantage of the abject fear of death from a virus with a 99.8 percent survival rate and several drugs that can cure it.

Schools of Leftist Learning

An elementary school class under socialism/communism
Photo: 1965

My first encounter with the daunting public school education system was in a little town in the deep south where I applied to be a substitute. To my surprise, the principal of the local high school told me that they could not “take just anybody off the street,” one had to have a teaching license to be a substitute, just having a degree would not suffice.

As I learned much later, most substitutes were generally glorified babysitters who did not really engage the students academically. They just passed worksheets assigned by the absent teacher and tried valiantly to deal with the behavioral problems of unruly students.

Undeterred, I asked the Superintendent of the small public school system and I got the same answer. I checked to see if a teaching license was required and I got several different answers. This was 1979, the year Jimmy Carter’s Department of Education was established when our public school education began its decline, reaching bottom with Common Core.

Perhaps the administrators believed that a person coming from a communist country could not possibly teach American students any values or history worth learning and were afraid that I might warp their minds with communist indoctrination.

Since I fled communism and had not been indoctrinated at all, I resigned myself that I was not educated enough to be a substitute in their public schools. I had met some of the “licensed” teachers and I was not impressed at all with their overall knowledge and lack thereof.

A 2010 ranking by the U.S. News and World Report placed the following schools of education in the top ten of all graduate colleges of education in the U.S.:  Peabody College (Vanderbilt University), Teachers College at Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, University of Oregon, Johns Hopkins, University of California (Los Angeles), Northwestern (Chicago), University of Wisconsin-Madison, and U.C. Berkley.

In case you wondered where many public school teachers learned their “forward” methods of teaching, their “expert” craft, Marxist ideology, and where textbooks and ever-changing methodologies like Common Core came from, you get an idea from the list cited.

The schools of education around the country indoctrinate future teachers who in turn propagandize socialism and Marxism to our students and degrade the education system with the Common Core methodology and all its ancillary materials.

Then I had my first encounter with higher education in 1982 when I started taking classes at the nearby university and I was shocked to learn that many of my professors who were well prepared in their subject areas, were also not just highly liberal, but some were rabid Marxists. The administration was not yet in bed with communism as they did not give me credit for the mandatory Scientific Socialism classes I attended under the communist school system.

I was surprised at the high concentration of liberals among academia, professors who worshipped at the foot of Marx and Lenin. The campus was pretty much a socialist enclave where English professors adored deviant behavior and discussed it at nauseam in their classes.

We could not express anti-communist opinions or anything else that was divergent from the college professor’s stated opinions. Students were bullied into submission. They knew that there would be serious consequences to grades and student standing.

Even though there is not one person who has all the right answers, college professors put themselves on narcissistic pedestals on the conference circuit around the country, awarding each other titles and meritorious plaques, letting everyone know that they are the ultimate source of suitable information and, if you have someone else’s opinion, it is not worth having.

I thought, whatever happened to the campus being a place to freely exchange ideas, for polite discourse, examination, and arriving at solutions to a problem?

The darling professors are protected by an old system of tenure which assures them that they can never be fired no matter how outrageous their behavior, what they teach, and how they teach it. The tenure system assures them that they can be activists and teach our children to hate America, its history, and even hate themselves, and still keep their jobs.

This disease called tenure began in America sometime in the late nineteenth century, modeled after a much earlier German tenure system. It was necessary then as industrialists’ ideas (they financed many universities) and the liberal and populist professors’ ideas diverged. That reality is long gone but tenure still exists today.

A professor should be free to discuss politics and philosophy at appropriate times and in appropriate places but all sides of the discussion should be allowed to interject. That is when learning occurs. Bringing up politics in classes with subject matters that do not involve politics is inappropriate.

In addition to student Marxist indoctrination, universities have become enclaves of intolerance and self-selection. Committees choose mostly applicants who believe the same as they do. Consequently, politically conservative professors seldom get hired or tenured by a committee of like-minded liberals. In Ivy league schools, a mere 13 percent of the faculty is libertarian or conservative.

There are many other important reasons why our colleges and universities have become “institutions of leftist learning.” To undo the damage done to our children, universities should end tenure, end the self-selecting committees, abolish the Department of Education, and fire teachers who discuss politics in subject areas that have nothing to do with politics.  Professors must teach students how to think objectively, not what to think, echoing the professor’s beliefs.

It is sad when a student has to agree with the professor’s social and political views in order to get a good grade in class. Students are not there to get a diploma in social justice activism. They are there to learn real American history, science, mathematics, engineering, subjects that will lead to an employable and useful profession. Otherwise, the college diploma is worthless and students are better served in a trade school.

Bezmenov Explains Marxist Subversion in American Society

Statue of Lenin in Seattle remains
undisturbed
There is no shortage of Lenin’s “useful idiots” with brains addled by drugs and agitated by paid Alinsky-style community organizers.

“Useful idiots” are easily manipulated individuals without a compass, without a country, with allegiance to global citizenship and Mother Gaia, humans ruled by emotion and devoid of rational thinking. They are used skillfully to implement cultural Marxism, to disseminate poisonous ideas, chaos, decadence, and worthless entertainment parading as art.

Spreading around the country, Black Lives Matter, on the payroll of elitist billionaires who want to change society in their utopian global Marxist vision, have taken over campuses around the country making outrageous demands. The university, the bastion of freedom of speech and assembly, of tolerance, of diversity, caved like a house of cards to the demands of a few crazed lunatics, rusted 1960s wheels squeaking the loudest the same worn-out communist drivel.

Why exactly are we sending our children to college? Are we paying overpriced tuition to transform them into radicals crying racism, bigotry, and manufactured white privilege, in the most tolerant country in the world, while they take full advantage of minority grants, minority scholarships, affirmative action, and quotas?

How did we reach such a point where waves of violent, well-armed, well-organized militant protesters across the country are instigating fiery riots, looting, and destroying urban areas with a vengeance? How did mostly white college students change into brainless rabid Marxists, and with the help and coaching of their college professors, turned upside down the former bastions of higher education into a grotesque and intolerant self-segregating quagmire?

As statues of all types are being toppled and destroyed, regardless of historical facts, many collegiate organizations are demanding that all historical buildings with names that inflame them be changed to a revolutionary name of their choice.

Safe spaces were created and dedicated specifically to students who were never slaves nor oppressed. White students chained themselves like slaves and begged forgiveness for crimes they did not commit.
Classes were mandated to teach the history of marginalized peoples. According to them, slaves only came in darker skin colors. All other slaves were conveniently left out. Slavery of the 21st century is deliberately ignored.

Vandalism and destruction of cemeteries of American heroes are happening all around the world. Would they eventually start to disinter the graves of historical figures they do not like?

Violent females of the Rabid Generation are destroying historical sites as fast as their Marxist suppliers deliver spray paint, hammers, bricks, and bulldozers. College professors with expertise in archeology, especially Egyptology, are giving them instructions how to demolish monuments and topple statues more efficiently.

Whatever happened to exposing students to other points of view? What happened to tolerance of divergent opinions? Is the majority going to be ignored while listening only to those who threaten and bully? Aren’t people tired of unfounded accusations of bigotry, white privilege, and racism? Will they enjoy being controlled and ruled by a fanatical Marxist minority?

Are we going to revise now the entire history of the United States because someone along the way must have been offended and that offensive historical occurrence must be redressed now by wiping out or removing those reminders from textbooks? Are we going to empty out all museums, bulldoze all monuments, and burn all libraries except those approved my Marxist-Leninists?
Aren’t these demands “a thinly veiled attempt to impose a unilateral narrative upon all undergraduates via the core curriculum?” Isn’t racially segregated housing illegal and morally questionable, counter to the values of American society? Why are we stifling academic freedom and reversing years of race relations progress?
Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov, a KGB propagandist and defector, was interviewed by G. Edward Griffin in 1984. During this lengthy interview, Bezmenov explained the method of ideology subversion, a form of psychological warfare, a deliberate sabotage that changes the subjects’ perception of reality.  Such method of brainwashing was so successful that, in the face of ample evidence, documentation, facts, and knowledge, students still believe what their academic handlers told them in schools, in movies, and in the mainstream news. Bezmenov described how this massive brainwashing by design occurred in four stages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS8LA-5fmrs
The first stage was demoralization. Teachers had to educate three generations and expose them to Marxist-Leninist ideology without a counterbalance of American values. To a demoralized person, facts have no meaning even when they are showered with authentic information.
Bezmenov said, “If I take them and show them the concentration camps in the Soviet Union, they will not believe me until the boot of reality kicked them in the rear end.” To reverse this trend to a normal generation that believes in American values, common sense, culture, and patriotism, one would need at least 15 years, he added.
Most people who were educated in the 1960s are now in positions of power. They were programed/indoctrinated to act a certain way even when exposed to accurate information. The process of demoralization is irreversible, Bezmenov said.

A “subverter” needs 2-5 years to engage in the second stage of ideology subversion called destabilization. During this stage, the entire nation is destabilized through the economy, through foreign relations, and defense.

The third stage of ideology subversion is called crisis and it usually lasts about six weeks.
The fourth stage is called normalization when “all the shmucks that eliminated the free market competition are now in power.” The country is at war with itself and in chaos. Once this level is reached, Americans will have nowhere to escape, said Bezmenov.

Who are the “useful idiots” who aid and abet this psychological subversion? They are the academia, media people, actors, movie makers, narcissists, people with no scruples and no conscience, people filled with self-importance who think that they matter a lot, greedy individuals, and people who will look you in the eye, smile, and lie to you. These “useful idiots” are helpful in the destabilization stage, but expandable afterwards, explained Bezmenov. Many initial communists were replaced and killed by more rabid communists.

If people fail to understand the concept of Big Brother Government/Deep State and the Welfare State, forgetting patriotism, cultural heritage, and history, all freedoms will vanish. We are already there.
Where will YOU defect from global communism then?

You Can’t Miss What You Don’t Have in the First Place

Growing up in the proletariat class of communism, we never had much time to ponder over our perennial hunger or our miserable state in life, we were too busy trying to find something to eat, most of the time standing in lines daily to fight over the supply of food allotted that day by the benevolent socialist government run by the Communist Party.

Most of us were quite thin, malnourished, lacking vitamins and proper nutrition, but we were all in the same boat and we could do nothing about it as we had no arms to mount a rebellion to overthrow the Communist Party.

The communists and their sycophants ate well, lived well, and enjoyed all the luxuries they accumulated by stealing everything of value that the proletariat at large had owned prior to the Bolshevik revolution. Their bank accounts were full, they took nice vacations and often, and we watched with resentment from afar.

We did not have the opportunity to better ourselves, or to develop the inner talents we were born with. We were too busy following the Communist Party rules and absurd regulations, to make sure we did not violate any of them or else we were imprisoned or re-educated in Siberia.

Creativity and allowed speech had to follow strict Party guidelines or else be censored for violating communist community standards, not unlike the social media moguls’ dictates today. But instead of being in Facebook jail for 30 days, you would find yourself in real prisons and the jailers threw away the key until they saw fit to let you go. Nobody followed the law, the law was what various Communist Party apparatchiks decided on a whim.

Individuality was verboten and nobody developed new ideas, projects, research, and other technical gadgetry. Worthless group-think with strict guidelines that augmented the collective was allowed.

I saw through the windows of nice restaurants an abundance of food that was sorely missing in our government-run empty stores. These restaurants were off-limits for us as only the communist movers and shakers could afford such luxury. Mom was making 800 lei per month which, divided by the artificially pegged exchange rate of 12 lei to the dollar in 1980, it was about $67 a month from which we had to buy food, pay for water, electricity, rent, bus fares, and medicine. Dad was making slightly more, about 1,200 lei per month, a whopping sum of $100.

A fresh college graduate with an Economics degree earned the huge sum of 1880 lei per month, about $157 per month which allowed such a graduate to live a much better life if they could find food and lived together with their parents in a small 600 square feet concrete block apartment, standard government issue subsidized housing for all.

The proletariat knew they were missing a lot – they saw how rich Texans lived on the television series “Dallas” and their make-believe oil tycoon family. For some reason, the decadent capitalist show passed the censors. Perhaps they allowed the series on TV in order to show how evil capitalists were and that is why we lived so poorly, they were stealing it from us. At least that was the daily propaganda we heard on the two black and white television channels.

We were riveted weekly to another episode so that we could live vicariously and imagine what it would be like if we had their food, clothing, and the comforts of a real home instead of the drab match boxes we were stacked on 5-9 stories high after the wise Communist Party stole our private properties, homes, and land.

Before the show ended, I moved to the U.S. in 1978 and, as the next season of Dallas played on American television, my family back home was flooding me with questions about the show such as “who killed J.R. Ewing,” but most of all, did Americans live so well and did they have so much food?

I never thought personally that food would become an issue 42 years later in America due to a tyrannical government lockdown of the population under the guise of protecting them from a flu virus. The lockdown caught many people unaware who were buying food in smaller quantities and less frequently because many Americans ate in restaurants several times a week.

As an escapee from communism, the lockdown affected me much worse than it did many Americans around me. They were happy to hide behind masks, stay home, watch TV, get paid weekly for doing nothing, let government tell them what to do, where to go, how, and when. They were happy to comply. But to me, removing the choice of staying home or going out felt like the former communist life.

I went to restaurants just like my American brethren and now, the government closed them down and locked us in our homes with only permission to go to the grocery store and pharmacies. Suddenly, once the state government removed any opportunity to go to a restaurant, it felt much worse than when, under communism, we could not afford to go. I felt the tyranny on a much deeper level.

The entire communist country where I grew up was one big lockdown prison, with borders guarded with machine guns, heavily armed soldiers, and razor sharp barbed wire. But in the U.S., where radicals want to erase borders, we were bombarded by PSA propaganda, i.e., “we are in this together,” “alone together,” “you are not alone,” etc., all meant to increase and maintain population compliance. The country became one big masquerade ball with masks made of all sorts of materials including, as my friend Alexis joked, “Dr. Fauci’s underwear.”

I thought that this was a much more insidious form of tyranny. When it became evident that it was just a flu, the state and local government bureaucrats did not relent their socialist control of the populace and people continued to remain cowardly subdued, afraid of dying of the Covid-19 flu virus, while losing constitutional freedoms each day without as much as a whimper.

The moral of both experiences compared is that you can’t miss what you don’t have in the first place, but it sure feels much worse when you do have something and that something is taken away permanently.

Millennials Caught up in the Lies of Social Justice

Aldous Leonard Huxley in 1954

In a 1958 interview with Mike Wallace, Aldous Leonard Huxley, British writer and philosopher, discussed the power of technology, drugs, and propaganda as formidable methods of indoctrination. He talked about Hitler who used the press and radio very effectively to brainwash an entire nation to accept the evil that followed. He explained to Wallace:

“…  a piece of very recent and very painful history is the propaganda used by Hitler, which was incredibly effective. I mean, what were Hitler's methods? Hitler used terror on the one kind, brute force on the one hand, but he also used a very efficient form of propaganda which …he was using every modern device at that time. He didn't have TV, but he had the radio which he used to the fullest extent and was able to impose his will on an immense mass of people. I mean, the Germans were a highly educated people.”

Indoctrination through relentless propaganda is so effective that it creates slaves who are happy to be indentured. For example, most Americans accept property tax increases because they believe it benefits schools and their children. But in some areas, property tax increases educate the children of newly arrived Muslim economic refugees and illegal aliens who have crossed the border illegally alone or in caravans organized and advised by non-profits funded by the United Nations, businesses and elites with an interest to gain new Democrat voters, supporters for the globalist agenda, and cheap labor.

Huxley mentioned Orwell’s “1984” book and said “That if you want to preserve your power indefinitely, you have to get the consent of the ruled, and this they will do partly by drugs as I foresaw in ‘Brave New World,’ partly by these new techniques of propaganda. They will do it by bypassing the sort of rational side of man and appealing to his subconscious and his deeper emotions, and his physiology even, and so making him actually love his slavery. I mean, I think, this is the danger that actually people may be, in some ways, happy under the new regime, but that they will be happy in situations where they oughtn't to be happy.”

Huxley continued, “… there are methods at present available, methods superior in some respects to Hitler's methods, which could be used in a bad situation. I mean, what I feel very strongly is that we mustn't be caught by surprise by our own advancing technology. This has happened again and again in history with technology's advance and this changes social condition, and suddenly people have found themselves in a situation which they didn't foresee and doing all sorts of things they really didn't want to do.” http://www.cuttingthroughthematrix.com/articles/Mike_Wallace_interviews_Aldous_Huxley_May_18_1958.html

It is now painfully evident what propaganda through any means, especially through technology and drugs, and indoctrination for the last forty years through education, Hollywood, and the mainstream media, have done to younger generations of Americans. They are now the pliant drones, happy to be slaves to the globalist ideology which includes the U.N. Agenda 21/2030.

I had met recently with Millennials who validated abundantly the indoctrination theory, hard-core liberals, some of whom fortunately have not yet voted in presidential elections. They get their information from other thoroughly indoctrinated friends who hear certain phrases and fabrications passed as reality. Repeated ad nauseam by the shrill leftist media and their low-information followers, the propaganda becomes truth.

The young Millennials told me that they never hesitated to join in the fray of any protest marching in their town, no matter how vile or pointless. The excitement of the melee of the loud and well-paid rent-a-mobs, called them to join in the tussle.

There was a time when young Americans in their late teens and early twenties were responsible adults, settled down in marriage and family with children. Today they are immature in late adulthood, whiny snowflakes, easily triggered, cowardly, intolerant of others who disagree with them, living in their parents’ basements without any shame or feelings of self-respect and responsibility.

I had asked before what is it that they reject so vehemently, and I got blank stares or quick replies that President Trump is hated profoundly for being a racist. I asked them what it was that President Trump did that offended them so, evidence of racism, or how he impacted their lives even before he was sworn in and the answer was, he is bad, repeating the canned narrative they’ve heard on cable channels or from their equally misguided and misinformed friends.

When they received a tax refund last year thanks to President Trump’s tax policy, I asked if they refunded the money since everything Trump did or does, in their view, works against them and the “man.” They laughed and kept the money.

There is no leftist cause, no matter how outrageous, that social justice Millennials will not volunteer to support. They cannot really explain what they mean by social justice, and if there was ever, at any point in time social justice in the world.

They have no idea how society operates, how the economy is run, what it means to be an American citizen, the duties and responsibilities to family and to our nation. They are shameless, compass-less individuals with no future who think that getting a degree in social justice or women's studies will allow them to work for a non-profit and help people. They are not sure how, when, where, which people, and how they are going to pay their own bills and live. They just know, they will help people.

Society Never Condemned the Crimes of Communism in a Public Forum

Photo: Holodomor.png
I never forget that millions of victims of communism, including my Dad, died fighting tyranny born by a utopian philosophy. They all clashed with the communist party’s Marxist ideology when they opposed the confiscation of their homes, land, guns, and personal property. They objected to the lack of food, heat, water, proper medical care, medications, human rights, personal freedom, and a decent treatment as human beings.

When Margaret Thatcher once said, “The problem with socialism is that, at some point, you run out of other people’s money,” she was referring to the deliberate attempt by a centralized socialist government to confiscate by various means wealth they viewed as unfairly earned at the expense of the oppressed masses.

Marx said, himself the original hippie who never worked and was supported by rich patrons such as Friedrich Engels (he would have made a perfect Socialist Democrat politician in office today), the proletariat does all the work, it is only fitting that the rich share their “ill-gotten wealth.”

You’ve heard the phrase, “the rich must pay their fair share” repeated at nauseam by socialists like Bernie Sanders who has now become a millionaire in the capitalist society he despises while preaching to his followers a return to a simple life in order to save the planet from Armageddon.

What wealth did we equally “share” under socialism/communism?  The wealth confiscated and stolen by force by communist party apparatchiks after throwing in jail dissenting citizens for being “bourgeois.”

Speaking of the equality the social justice warriors demand through their pink loudspeakers while blocking busy intersections for those citizens who actually work for a living - we had equal misery, equal suffering, equal mistreatment, equal poverty, constant shortages of food, rationing of necessities, water, energy, heat, and rationing of medical care.

I don’t expect the social justice “warriors” to understand what it’s like to have a full-time job in which one produces something useful since they work as angry-for-hire agitators while living in mom and dad’s basement.

Classical socialists believed that socialism was an imperfect stage before communism – the means of production were owned by the state and workers were paid hourly for their work. As the communist motto said, “They pretended to pay us, and we pretended to work.”

I agree with Winston Churchill’s famous assessment, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

The failed experiment with socialism/communism at Jamestown, Virginia (1620), taught us that when people worked the land together, some were lazy and did much less work, while others, who worked harder, resented the slackers. The whole commune nearly starved to death before they returned to prior individual division of land after which the settlement thrived again.

Communism was supposed to abolish classes and the workers would have been paid for their needs not for the work they performed – “from each according to his ability, to each according to their need.” But who decided the need and the level of pay? Who received the higher pay? The answer is simple, the communist party elites and their loyal lackeys.

Sadly, today in America, we have built a permanent underclass that relies on welfare, being paid not to work, according to their needs determined by government bureaucratic charts developed to give dependence to the populace and enough to survive on. Thirty-five states pay more welfare per hour than a person earns working thus destroying the incentive to work. These are the low information voters, including illegal aliens, who are voting for communist living.

The supposed “classless” communist society did have two classes, the proletariat who called each other “comrades in chains” and the ruling elites. The controlling elites shared and used all the wealth as they pleased, according to their greedy wants.

Marxism has not worked and will never work because greed and jealousy are part of the human psyche. Not everyone is so altruistic that they are willing to work extremely hard for the good of everyone, knowing that those in power get their lion’s share of the divided pie.

Capitalism works because of self-interest. One individual’s hard work to achieve self-interest enables Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” to float everyone else’s boat. Marx himself said, “Capitalism is the most powerful mode of production available.” Waiting on the dole and the spreading of wealth is the death of initiative, self-respect, dignity, honor in a good day’s work, the pursuit of happiness, and the desire to improve one’s standing in society.

Self-interest also breeds charity. Communist elites were never charitable except to themselves. People living under communism were not charitable to strangers. They performed volunteer activities involuntarily under the forced direction of communist rulers. Everyone was spied on and watched by community organizers and snitches.

The proletariat hoarded food, enabled black markets, and engaged in bartering stolen goods or raw materials from work in order to survive. They even stole public items that were not fastened or nailed down if they could be sold for recycling.

Private property was forbidden because it created “unfair” competition. Anyone caught by the Economic Police with extra goods and belongings was sentenced to jail. But the ruling elite and their lackeys could own as much private property as they wished or as they could steal from the hapless proletariat and from the common means of production.

In the communist “utopia” I experienced, the proletariat was given free healthcare and free education heavily infused with communist indoctrination. The children of elites were chosen first for college education.

Health care was so dismal and pathetic, human life had no value. People were killed by malpractice in simple procedures; no accountability existed since everyone earned meager wages and worked for the omnipotent government that could not be sued. Doctors, nurses, teachers, and engineers were told where to live, where to practice their trade, and how much they could earn. People were forced to do everything in a communist society against their will.

Modern “socialists” in Europe run bankrupt welfare states with a nanny mentality of cradle to grave entitlements but with a substantial and large tax base collected from citizens and from large corporations to pay for it all. There is no such thing as a free meal, someone must pay for it, and it comes with strings attached.

Exceptionalism is punished, “global citizens” are shaped by socialist schools, and “group think” is rewarded. But most inventions of the modern world were the result of individual creativity and exceptional talent of one individual not of groups “brainstorming.”

Communist China did not start to make economic progress until the centralized communist bureaucracy lessened its iron grip on the population and allowed individual creativity and entrepreneurship to thrive. But now they control and “reward” citizens with social scoring for their good communist behavior. If they fail to measure up, they are denied traveling by plane, for example.

The U.S. has experienced the “Creeping Socialism” that Ronald Reagan and Friedrich von Hayek warned us about: government takeover of Chrysler, GM, student loan programs, banking and financial institutions, Obamacare, control of Internet, FCC radio programming content, attacks on Christianity, censorship on social media like Facebook, YouTube, Tweeter, and attacks on conservative speech and values.

Socialists hide behind political speech, clever euphemisms, rhetoric, deception, manipulation, lies, propaganda, class and racial division. Accusations of hate speech, bigotry, racism, homophobia, islamophobia are intended to stifle free speech.

Communist terms I left behind decades ago are now part of everyday politics: social justice, economic justice, social engineering, community organizing, nationalization, social democracy, redistributive change, equitable society, open society, social change, working class, communitarian, redistributive change.

Communism never died; it has rebranded itself across the world. It is making a comeback in the U.S. thanks to the Democrat Party, Communist Party U.S.A., Socialist Party of America, teachers, college professors, unions, ignorant Americans on welfare, Occupy Wall Street movement, ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter, main stream media, and United Nations Agenda 21/2030, the design of global communism.

Norman Matoon Thomas (1884–1968), a leading American socialist and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America, explained best the status of socialism in the U.S.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day American will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” He continued, “I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform.” It appears that they have reached that goal. Numerous members of Congress have openly declared their affiliation with the Socialist Party and the Communist Party USA.

We are governed by progressives disguised as public servants, our minds are molded by academia, priests and preachers, and main stream media socialists, our tastes are formed by communism-loving Hollywood, our ideas suggested by communists, and by men we have never heard of like George Bernard Shaw, a Fabian socialist and eugenicist, and by John Dewey, the most influential American Marxist and progressive  theorist of education and founder of our current public school teaching practice and ideology.

America is under siege, in a state of propaganda encouraging brainwashing of the population to support a socialist state. We are following in the failed multiculturalist footsteps of Europe, overrun by illegal aliens who demand amnesty, with no intention of assimilating. America is in no social and economic position to absorb so many millions without its self-destruction as a nation. We are being colonized from within by the socialist/communist tyranny of the oppressed.

We will lose private property, all accumulated wealth, the right to inheritance, the right to bear arms, and we will get in return centralized everything (transportation, communication, credit, means of production, technology), free education, equitable distribution of population density across permitted areas, and equal wages.

If we wonder why the sudden desire of young people to become socialists, look no further than your child’s teachers and history textbooks that glorify socialism/communism to impressionable students.

The Marxists, Bolsheviks, Leninists, Stalinists, Maoists, Castroists, Che Guevara worshippers, Pol Pot supporters, and other fellow travelers who have murdered 100 million people collectively in the name of communism since 1917, were never tried in a public setting like the Nuremberg trial for the Nazis which condemned National Socialism and its leaders. Communism was never really condemned in such a public forum. For this reason, young people believe that it was a benign part of world history that must be repeated by the right people who are smarter than the communist predecessors.

The Zinns of Revised History

Arlington National Cemetery established on land confiscated
Photo: Ileana Johnson
Elementary school students learn their first version of history from their College of Education licensed teachers. Some deliberately change historical facts to match their social engineering agenda or are too ignorant and lazy to research on their own and thus do not care what damage they inflict on their charges as long as nobody gets physically hurt while in their care and everybody has breakfast, preferably at the taxpayer expense. Once their minds are made up, nothing can change their reality - it becomes the solid rock chiseled by water over millennia.

Parents may be either too busy to check the validity and veracity of what their children learn in school, may agree with the teacher’s activism, or may themselves be ignorant and unmotivated to do anything about it, not caring that their kids’ minds will be forever imprinted with misinformation and social justice drivel. Very young students look at their teachers in awe as the ultimate arbiters of truth.

Middle school students may or may not escape the deliberate indoctrination, depending on how involved some parents are in their children’s homework and school and on how much information students bring home at the end of the day or discuss with their parents.

Middle school students may ask their teachers more difficult questions, depending on their personality and the teacher’s eagerness to answer inconvenient queries from Johnny who happens to be disruptive to her pre-prepared lesson plans pulled from the state-approved curriculum and textbooks.

By high school students have been exposed to a barrage of misinformation from various teachers who may or may not have had a personal socialist agenda, but they were using Common Core textbooks which emphasized collectivism and Islam to the detriment of Christianity and American history facts.

The textbooks used today around the country are almost exclusively Howard Zinn’s version of history published in 1980, A People’s History of the United States. Howard Zinn, a native of Brooklyn, New York, considered himself a radical. The 729-page book is overloaded with manufactured history told from the revised perspective of the downtrodden and the exploited. I am familiar with this heavy-handed indoctrination as our textbooks when I was growing up presented history from the Communist Party’s collectivist perspective.

According to Zinn’s book and other Common Core approved textbooks, America is a land of brutal racism and oppression of the downtrodden but economically is a great place because wealth was stolen from the slaves who made this abundance possible. It is our duty to pay reparations to black people whose ancestors were forced into slavery when they were sold to white men by their tribal brethren in Africa.

Most high schools and colleges in the United States are teaching their students that America was and is bad, yet the downtrodden of the world risk life and limb to cross our borders illegally. If it is so bad, and their third world cesspools so wonderful, why are they coming? Is it because the welfare is great, and money grows on trees?

George Orwell wrote that “The most effective way to destroy a people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” If people cannot understand where they came from, who were those who have fought for their country and why, they become people without a compass who judge what happened in the past through the lenses of modern societal social trends. And our youth today is offended and triggered by anything that does not fit into their philosophical view of the global U.N. compact.

When we sat in history class, the teacher gave us dates and her opinion of the events which may or may not have transpired as described, or the textbook writers’ opinion, or the government in power’s opinion of history. We understood who we were as a people based on this information or misinformation.

People with dementia forget their own family’s history, who they are, their families, and no longer connect to their tribe and its history. They are lost and confused. All their memories and experiences which had defined them, have been lost forever, in a jumbled mass of neurons. “Wipe out their memory and you erase their identity.” Wipe out their history and they become global citizens.

When you deliberately repeat in class ad nauseam America’s mistakes, while ignoring or omitting America’s successes, you prepare students who have no respect for their own culture, who are embarrassed by their own history.

Since Jimmy Carter’s department of education was established in 1979, progressives have been overtly promoting their dangerous socialist narrative meant to divide the nation and its accomplishments by constantly separating people by race, class, gender, and deviant sexuality and sowing the seeds of hatred, self-loathing, and revolution.

One of my Economics students decried the statistics in the textbook written by Democrat academics, saying that everything is divided by race, age, and gender.  In his opinion, the book, which had numerous editions, was biased and racist.

Academia, Hollywood, corrupt politicians, and the main stream media have invited real and imagined victims of “evil capitalism” which they elevated to a minority entitled to exercise the tyranny of the oppressed while the rest of us must pay reparations to those who have been mistreated by history.

All traditions that have defined our culture, Thanksgiving, Presidents Day, raising the flag, singing the National Anthem, celebrating discoverers like Christopher Columbus, special holidays like Christmas, Easter, and other traditions have been replaced by ethnic holidays or cancelled altogether.

James Robbins described in a recent PraegerU video that we are now involved in a “non-violent civil war.” I am not sure if it is a civil war but the non-violent aspect of attacks is debatable if we consider the ANTIFA violence on campuses around the nation and in the streets. ANTIFA is a radical organization that fashions itself as anti-fascist but is fascist in the behavior of its masked members.

Even though America abolished slavery and many Americans, black and white, have lost their lives in the fight to end such an inhuman practice, the radical left continues to poison the minds of useful idiots with slavery while ignoring the actual slavery taking place in the Islamic world of Africa and the Muslim genocide against Christians.

Our country is portrayed as unjust even though we are the most tolerant nation on the planet today when it comes to accepting people from all over the world as long as they come here to make America greater than when they found it and are not here to fleece the generous welfare system.

All nations on the globe have been established and reshaped from land purchased, taken, given, won, occupied, or gained following wars and other means of partition. It has always been a struggle.

Our students should be taught that America, although not perfect, is still a land of opportunity if those seeking it assimilate and understand its history and culture from factual data, not collectivized and manufactured history to fit the radical agenda of Democrat Socialism.
