The Tyranny of the Oppressed and of Minorities

"We condemn freedom of speech that hurts other people’s feelings” – student poster photographed at a rally in California

Half of the U.S. population believes that it is a good idea and high time that our country became socialist, on the way to communism. We are told ad nauseam by the highly organized Marxist left that the other communist countries that failed so miserably, oppressed their own people, and killed millions of them, failed because they did not do it the right way. What this “right way” is, nobody really understands or can even attempt to explain. But they repeat it because it sounds right and progressively utopian.

They have carefully listened day and night to the propaganda coming from the labor unions, teacher unions, the academia indoctrinating college students, public school indoctrinating mills, Hollywood movies and immoral starlets who make millions and pretend to be paragons of virtue and knowledge, the main stream media indoctrination, the socialist Democrat Party and its race-baiting members, and NFL players who make millions while pretending to fight for social justice, code word for communism.

It will be interesting to see moronic football players lose their millions and lavish lifestyles while adhering to the communist-dictated equal pay across the board, regardless of effort, talent, training, skill, or education. Living in a two-bedroom apartment made of cinder blocks, without an expensive car and a huge bank account should teach them humility at the barrel of a gun held by the agents of daddy omnipotent government they so desire.

But none are as destructive to our society as the Democrat script readers of the main stream media, pretending to be journalists, graduates of the indoctrinating mills in our many colleges and universities around the country. The pretend-journalists continue the communist indoctrination that started in kindergarten, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in every state many decades ago.

The communist tree planted in this country is finally bearing fruit and these fruits are toxic and poisonous to our Constitutional Republic. These rotten fruits want to destroy and replace our Constitution, socially-engineer our demographics, black or white, by allowing any enemy into our country through open borders, and fundamentally changing our society by fascistic means.

I described in my book, Echoes of Communism, what life was like living under communism for twenty years. I have not made any converts though, even among my high school and college students; on the contrary, ever more young people think that how Scandinavian people live is the best – socialism for all.  After all, aren’t they supposed to be the happiest people on earth? I was told this recently by a naïve young lady with bright blue eyes. I asked her if that is true, how come Sweden pays such confiscatory taxes and has been taken over by Islam and has become the rape capital of the world? How is that happiness?

The indoctrination of political correctness (PC), her forfeiture of freedom of speech did not seem to ring a bell that she has lost the freedoms we are so proud of in America when we no longer can express a divergent opinion anywhere without being labeled racists, homophobes, Islamophobias, shunned, lose our jobs, pay fines, and even go to jail.

Political Correctness originated as a joke in a comic strip but it has devolved into Cultural Marxism.  Bill Lind correctly identified Political Correctness and Classical Marxism as totalitarian ideologies. He said,

“The totalitarian nature of Political Correctness is revealed nowhere more clearly than on college campuses, many of which at this point are small ivy covered North Koreas, where the student or faculty member who dares to cross any of the lines set up by the gender feminist or the homosexual-rights activists, or the local black or Hispanic group, or any of the other sainted ‘victims’ groups that PC revolves around, quickly find themselves in judicial trouble.” https://www.academia.org/the-origins-of-political-correctness/

The tyranny of the virtuous and imagined “oppressed” and of minorities has transformed our country into a basket of totalitarian control through fascist and communist methods.

It is no coincidence that PC (Cultural Marxism) uses powerful tools to indoctrinate such as revisionist history, pop culture, environmentalism, and sex. They have been used before by Marxists during the communist revolution of 100 years ago.

During my years of teaching, we made fun of political correctness – nobody took it really serious but people knew how to disguise certain ideas or lest they’d never get promoted, get tenure, better offices, or cushy conference circuits.

PC has become today an ideology that is guarded in the halls of academia and enforced in many cases by the power of the state. We now have “hate crimes” with jail sentences which are nothing but punishing people for their political views and thoughts. The prisoners during WWII used to sing a song that is no longer true today, Die Gedanken sind frei (Thoughts are free), meaning that they can imprison your body but not your thoughts. Well, they are imprisoning people’s bodies for their thoughts today.

Conservative students and faculty are terrorized on campuses for their thoughts if they diverge from the approved campus Political Correctness. This happened in communist Russia, fascist Germany, communist China, and fascist Italy and it is still happening in Cuba and North Korea.

PC is destroying our culture and our freedoms, bringing down our tolerant Western culture and capitalism. The idea that wealthy billionaire athletes are kneeling for social justice in a country with the highest standard of living in the world and anarchists in the streets and in academia are shaming Caucasians for their imagined “white privilege,” is appalling.

College professors naming white families and their children and the laws of inheritance as a root cause in perpetuating white supremacy in tolerant America is an unbelievable farcical development that nobody seems willing to address.

We have become a lawless, irrational society ruled by a mob of tyrant collegiate snowflakes, aggressive professors, activist judges, the non-existent “oppressed” and tyrannical minorities who are not satisfied with tolerance, diversity, and Affirmative Action.

Communists groomed by the teachers’ and labor unions are exalting the Soviet Union as the role model of the first socialist state, with no unemployment, no illiteracy, free education from kindergarten to college, free medical care, and living in peace with one hundred different nationalities. These are lies on all fronts but most Americans, who did not pay much attention to factual history or stayed awake in a history class, would never know the truth if it slapped them in the face.

None of the countries where socialism/communism existed had full employment - people pretended to work and the state pretended to pay them. Everybody had a right to a job but the job was not worth having and it did not pay much. People were abused on the job and often killed when they were sent to do dangerous jobs without any protective gear.

Most people could read but were not able to advance to higher education; the number of places in college were limited and reserved for the elites and their children. The rest, if lucky, went to technical middle schools and high schools.

Medical care was appalling and millions died of simple surgical procedures and treatable conditions, died on the operating table, or from lack of simple drugs or vitamins due to chronic shortages. Insufficiently educated communist apparatchiks were not particularly adept at planning centralized economies even five years ahead.

The proletariat and multiple ethnicities lived in peace because the very powerful police and secret police kept an armed iron fist on all citizens, watched them 24/7 and threw them in gulags at the earliest sign of dissention or misbehavior. The police state was very adept at keeping peace through murder and hard prison time.

Individualism and the desire to succeed and invent were squashed while group-think was demanded for the collective good.

The communists and anarchists in this country make promises and set goals they cannot possibly deliver. Overcoming alleged racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia through state laws is not freedom, it is tyranny. The Communist Party USA wants to replace our Bill of Rights with a “Bill of Rights Socialism.”

Just because we are a seemingly wealthy country today with a robust GDP and still have a powerful military, will not guarantee that our foray into totalitarian socialism will be successful. It will be just another form of tyranny that appeared good in speeches and on paper.  The U.S. will not be different than any other country that has tried socialism/communism.  Additionally, America is in debt up to its collective eye-balls, $20 trillion and counting, because Congress cannot stop spending us into unpayable national debt. Even if we confiscate all the wealth ever created in this country, it will only last a mere month at the current rate of spending. And then, what will we do?

Anarchist community organizers and communist labor union leaders do not mention that the wealth that has been created in this country and the powerful military have been bought and paid for by successful capitalism, not communism or socialism. If you look at the Fabian socialist economies of Europe, their governments are bankrupt despite high taxes, and have little military to defend them and not enough police to protect citizens from the enemies within.

America under totalitarian socialism/communism will not be a society of free individuals; it will be a society akin to the college campuses where any dissention and divergent opinion will be silenced through violence and oppression using fascistic tactics.

Communism has never worked and will never work because individuals are not altruistic enough to give up all their work and their free time in the service and enslavement to other individuals who are lazy and unmotivated to work or to contribute their fair and equal share. Communism breeds a welfare- dependent society that looks up to the omnipotent government to care for them from cradle to grave. That is not freedom.

If You Agree with Me, Freedom of Speech is Free

"We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism."
- Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev, 1959

Having made tremendous progress throughout history, advancing, protecting, and promoting freedom of speech, we find ourselves at a threshold when book burnings, forbidden free expression of ideas, and printing for the elite consumption, not the masses, do not seem like such a thing of the past, even though we have the Internet for now.

Free speech must now be interpreted and filtered through the warped minds of the progressive academia, Hollywood, and the main stream media who have learned absolutely nothing from the atrocities of history.

Free speech by progressives is government-controlled speech that labels dissenting ideas as hate speech, talk which is not protected, resulting in banning from a country, like Michael Savage, a school, a meeting, a university, or a job.

Your formerly free speech is now relegated to a far corner of a university, “free speech zone,” and subject to violent liberal protests. You are the person who provoked them and thus must be banned. Pamela Geller found herself attacked for criticizing radical Islam. She deserved what she got because she provoked them, said liberals.

Liberals despise talk radio as offensive unless their progressive denizens own and run the show. They promote political correctness because it is suppression of speech and that is the end-goal. Michael Savage asked very pointedly on his May 6, 2015 show, “Do you want self-suppression to empower evil?”

A cartoon is repugnant and provocative, liberals say.  But it is free speech to stomp and burn the American flag; the woman, who respects our Stars and Stripes, the freedom it stands for, tries to save it and put out the flames, and is promptly and unceremoniously arrested.

There is no excuse for violence if you are provoked. Martin Luther King did not provoke violence during his march. Christians are not violent when liberals disgustingly display Jesus in an exhibit floating in urine, or when Hollywood creates characters that urinate on the crucified Jesus. Nobody attacks filthy rappers or comedians because we are civilized and understand that offensive speech is protected. We just change the channel and refuse to watch or buy their filth advertised as music, art, or theater.

But we are allowing the killing of free speech for the silent majority. We allow the indoctrination of our children into abhorrent ideas spewed from the halls of academia and we pay higher and higher tuitions to such universities.

Boston University incoming Assistant Professor of Sociology and African-American Studies, Saida Grundy, has made several anti-Whites comments via Tweeter such as “White masculinity isn’t the problem for America’s colleges, white masculinity is THE problem for America’s colleges.” The school responded that the professor is practicing her freedom of speech. Really? How many white people have lost their jobs for lesser comments deemed as hate speech or unacceptable?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/may/9/saida-grundy-boston-university-professor-white-mal/

Across the pond, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown exercises her freedom of speech, “I don’t like white men, I want them to be a lost species,” while conservative talk show host Michael Savage is still banned from Britain. http://www.breitbart.com/london/2014/06/24/yasmin-alibhai-brown-i-don-t-like-white-men-i-want-them-to-be-a-lost-species/

Liberals view free speech as progressive ideas which are indisputable and non-debatable. Their version of science and of reality is settled. If you object, reject, and try to debate the progressive, regressive, and oppressive minority in control with reason and fact, you are a hate monger, an Islamophobe, a homophobe, a terrorist, a traitor, and a bigot. Progressives say that we should all be capitulators to leftist Marxist ideology and Leninist indoctrination, worshippers of global warming, and appeasers to radical Islam.

We allow indoctrination into Islam in our schools (wearing hijab for a day, covering heads during field trips to mosques, being Muslim for a day, covering our cherished Christian symbols in order to appease uncomfortable Islamists). We allow the promotion of mob justice by the very elected officials who are supposed to maintain law and order.

Having been the victim of abject and blatant discrimination in the halls of academia during my college years and teaching career, I have to wonder, how many America-loving, outstanding college teachers and straight A students were passed up during the application process for employment or admission to a university so that America-hating affirmative action quotas were fulfilled?

The American Oligarchy

We are fundamentally changing, it’s been coming for decades but it is more noticeable now because we have Internet, wireless devices, pocket size encyclopedias encapsulating libraries around the world, and instant access to real news around the globe.

We see how the main stream media has become the spokesperson for the ruling elites, corruption rules and day, and education is melting in the flames of common core.

We are no longer a Constitutional Republic because we failed to keep it. We are a benign oligarchy composed of same party rule of the few oligarchs, no matter how we vote at the polls. The oligarchs do as they please.

Oligarchy is aform of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; it is government by the few.” Nations ruled by oligarchies do not fare well, whether they are benign oligarchies or absolute tyrannies.

Newly elected politicians sign worthless pledges to constituents which they immediately break on the first day of Congress, joining those they swore to defeat and corruption is epidemic with all politicians, new or expert octopuses with tentacles strangling the heart of the republic. The oath of office is just a meaningless step to power.

We go about our daily lives; we go to work, shopping, to the movies, to parties, and watch surreal “reality TV” and sports while our country continues to fall apart. Nobody understands the insurmountable debt accumulated by Congress after Congress that is looming over our futures.

We still have food, we are fat thanks to food additives and a sedentary lifestyle, we are lulled into a false sense of security, we have a warm place called home, some have jobs, some have 2-3 part-time jobs, the welfare checks keep rolling in, what is there to worry us?

We are like the declining Roman Empire – America is waning because of the corruption of our leaders which we elect time and time again.

The average American does not really care right now. But the day to day contentment will change during their life time because of millions and millions of illegal aliens brought into the country by this administration. Their children will exist in a third world state riddled with poverty, illiteracy, crime, welfare, shortages, and equal and deplorable penury.

Most people are not feeling the change in their lives, but “fundamental change is in the air” and coming at dizzying speed.

We still have freedom of religion, although some “religions” are catered to more by government laws and regulations, forcing the rest of us to accept a “religion” that is contradictory to our Judeo-Christian values, lest we are sued or killed. Christianity is constantly under attack around the world and at home.

We have to self-censor or pay the penalty of hate-speech. The United Nations wants to codify into law a punishment for anyone who dares to criticize the very violent “religion of peace.”

Theoretically, we still have freedom of speech but, if we exercise it, we are marginalized as loons or phobes, forced to apologize for factual statements, or lose our jobs. In essence, we have lost the freedom of speech guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. We are now fearful to speak publicly, to our neighbors, and even whisper to relatives who have not yet written us off as strange and inimical because we have divergent opinions.

Ask tenured professor Dr. John McAdams of Marquette University about his suspension for exercising his freedom of speech in a blog which criticized an instructor who forbade students to have dissenting opinions in his class because the topic “was settled.” http://www.wnd.com/2015/01/fight-erupts-over-universitys-censorship-of-student-speech/

Speech is free as long as you agree with me. If you advocate for freedom of speech, you are going to be fired or suspended in the very place that prides itself over freedom of speech. But are universities a place where anyone can express their thoughts freely anymore? Especially when they have installed tiny corners called “free speech zones” but you have to ask permission from the university to use it.

We have freedom of the press but the press is run by liberals. We can write our opinions, but can we get them published? After all, most of the publishing houses are owned and staffed by brainwashed progressives.

We have freedom of assembly as long as the city government pressed by progressive agendas approves our petition to assemble and the topic of discussion. Conservative groups are often told no, while illegal immigrants can freely assemble to protest their illegitimacy and law-breaking presence in our country.

What is the goal in bringing into America four million Muslim immigrants per year who are intolerant of infidels and of their freedom of speech, as evidenced in the most recent massacre of twelve innocent Parisians who dared practice their trade of free speech through cartoons? The slain policeman who arrived on a bicycle and unarmed, was unable to protect the other eleven victims.

How could this happen in the liberal paradise of France where police has been disarmed and guns prohibited as demanded by the progressive society who believes that an unarmed populace will convince terrorists to give up their weapons. Surely they will respond to reason and mercy. We are all civilized humans, aren’t we?

Fareed Zakaria said on his CNN show, “There is within the world of Islam many, many pockets, many groups that really have a great deal of difficulty with the modern world, and particularly with the open Western freedom of speech loving, freedom of expression loving world.  The grievance, the grievance is that they feel they live in a world not of their making, a world of the west's making.” Well, in that case, let’s remake the world in the intolerant image of Islam and terrorism will go away. If they hate our world so much, why are they immigrating in droves to the west? http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/01/09/left_focuses_on_non_existent_islamophobia_to_smear_conservatives

Christiane Amanpour, referring to the Paris massacre, said, “One of the things that we're living right now is a very ugly and unseemly rise yet again of Islamophobia, and this is very worrying.  All these governments now are gonna be watching to see how the far right, which made huge gains in the last local elections in Europe a few months ago, National Frontier, UKIP in England, you know, the groups in Belgium and Germany and elsewhere, which are mobilizing big anti-Islamic demonstrations, how this is gonna play into this very ugly political situation.” http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/01/09/left_focuses_on_non_existent_islamophobia_to_smear_conservatives

What “ugly political situation?” Twelve innocent individuals, doing their jobs and exercising their right to free speech in the civilized world, have been slaughtered by the adherents to Islam. Can anyone name contributions to civilization that Islam has made since the 11th century other than violence, destruction, and death?

France24 reports that fifty world leaders have gathered in Paris to attend the Anti-Terrorism Rally on Sunday, January 11, 2015. http://www.france24.com/en/20150110-paris-rally-charlie-hebdo-sunday-leaders/ Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority among them, “are marching in solidarity against radical Islam,” said LTC Ralph Peters on Fox and Friends Weekend.

Kirk Lippold, Commander of USS Cole, wonders on his Facebook page why the United States is not represented in this massive rally against terrorism. “This is an embarrassment for the United States and speaks volumes about this Administration's commitment to defeating radical Islam and the terrorists who kill innocent civilians.” https://www.facebook.com/kirk.lippold.9/posts/10205683838880415?notif_t=close_friend_activity

We are in the phase of a “soft, benevolent dictatorship,” some call it “despotic oligarchy,” shaping what we do, what we say, what we think, what we eat, what we drink, what medicines we take, what doctors we see, but people are generally blind so far to this new phase of reshaping America away from the “evil” capitalist empire that has brought prosperity and development to the entire world.

The moral decline of America is driving more nails into its coffin because everything deviant is now protected and promoted by law and the medical field is encouraging and paying for any physical changes desired.

Rome did not fall in one day, it took a long time for its collapse and it split into two empires, the Western and the Eastern. The Western Empire fell quickly in 476 A.D. to the barbarian hordes that wanted the Roman lifestyle but were unwilling to assimilate.

Political corruption, a mercenary army disloyal to Rome, unchecked immigration,  waves of Visigoths, Vandals, Angles, Saxons, Franks, Ostrogoths, and Lombards who took turns damaging the Empire, an inflationary economy, decreased agricultural production, trade deficit, decadence, piracy, and lead poisoning were other variables that contributed to the fall of Rome. The Eastern Empire flourished for another 1,000 years as Byzantium.

How long is the American Empire going to survive under a soft, benign oligarchy?

Freedom of Speech As Long As You Agree With Me

“Die Gedanken sind frei.”

-          “Thoughts are Free,” famous German song about freedom of thought, 1810-1820, author unknown

Shortly after I arrived in the U.S., I realized that the freedom of speech Americans thought they had, was, let’s just say, with no intention of offending anyone, a figment of their naïve imagination.

I was naïve too, having escaped a communist dictatorship, I felt free to speak my objective opinion, thinking that there would be no harmful consequences since my freedom of speech was guaranteed.

I felt elated. I did not have to fear the security police day and night; and I did not have to be mindful constantly of what I said around friends, co-workers, strangers, distant, and close relatives.

Anything that disagreed with the communist regime’s tyrannical propaganda sent anyone to jail, a gulag, or worse yet, disappeared them permanently. If people had a strong constitution, when their jail or gulag time expired, they were set free and hopefully re-educated cheerleaders of the narcissistic president and his wife who thought themselves to be the grandiose parents of the nation. If people’s constitution was weak, they expired in jail from malnutrition, verbal abuse, and daily beatings.

As soon as I came in contact with educators, I realized, there was a problem with freedom of speech. The freedom to speak was not really free. You could speak your mind but you were ostracized, ignored, marginalized, or fired.

First, you had to have a license to teach, a college degree in arts and sciences and professional experience were not enough. Economically speaking, every time someone needs licensure, that limits the number of approved and qualified people to perform a specific profession or trade. In this case, anyone could be a teacher as long as they were willing to go through the College of Education indoctrination program.

Interestingly, many licensed teachers were marginally qualified to teach their subject area of “expertise” and scored poorly on the National Teacher Exam, but passed.

Secondly, the teachers did not have the freedom to choose the curriculum; it was dictated by the Department of Education of each state, directly connected to the federal Department of Education.

In this system, teachers had to follow verbatim the liberal teaching method of the day, and use textbooks designed to help them achieve pre-set goals, very similar to the current Common Core nationalized education curriculum. Could they object to the directives? Yes, but their freedom was speech was neutralized by administrators and the fear of losing their jobs.

As a teacher, I objected to certain irrational methodology and rules, what I perceived to be socialized curricula, to which I got the same canned answer, “This is how we do things in the U.S., if you don’t like it, go back to where you hailed from.”

Later on, as political correctness became the number one weapon used by liberals to stifle freedom of speech, the answer became, “If you do it our way, you get to keep your job.” Some more aggressive administrators said, since you are not a “team player,” we will definitely not renew your contract next year.  The threat never materialized. America is a very litigious society, lawyers are expensive, and schools are terribly afraid of being sued, particularly when they don’t have a case.

At the college level, famous for academic freedom, conservatives did not dare express their objective and logical opinions, often contradicting the liberal talking points, lest they never make the tenured professor list.  Some conservatives escaped the progressive scrutiny, thus receiving tenure, but it was a rare occurrence.

Conservative students suffered equally under the tyranny of outrageous liberal professors who demanded from their students nothing but total agreement with their belief system; if students were foolish enough to speak their minds and question the “settled” scholarly “authority” of their professors, they failed the class.

The current main stream media talking heads read the identically-worded paragraphs received from the same source daily, not unlike the communist era radio and television reporters behind the Iron Curtain, broadcasting the daily script from the national newspaper called “Romania Libera,” (Free Romania) which was a terrible contradiction, since we were such slaves. The paper reported as much truth as the Soviet era newspaper Pravda (The Truth).

Politicians today regurgitate the positions fed to them by advisors and lobbyists. Liberal newspapers repeat the misinformation established by the Democrat Party, the union lobby, and the non-governmental organizations lobby.

Conservatives writers and radio talk show hosts self-censor their columns and shows for fear of litigation by powerful billionaires, ethnic lobby groups, and NGOs.

Employees hide their political views for fear of losing their jobs. Parishioners do not express their opinions in the ever more socialist churches because they don’t want to lose their place of worship or the community they’ve grown accustomed to.

Conservatives don’t plaster cars with bumper stickers that reflect their world views for fear of having cars vandalized or destroyed. Liberals are proud to display all their causes on bumpers and car windows - they know the opposition is peaceful, tolerant, rational, and non-violent. Yet liberals label conservatives “racist” and “hate mongers” if they disagree with progressive points of view, thus shutting down any opposition.

Recently, Rush Limbaugh discussed on his August 27, 2013 show the case of Mike Adams, “the only tenured conservative professor at the University of North Carolina system, who simply said that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.” Anger and outrage from the faculty ensued, demanding that Adams be fired because of his definition of marriage - so much for the world-famous academic freedom.

Mike Adams wrote a “Dear Edward” letter to the professor who wanted him fired and who called him “an embarrassment to higher education.”

“While I respect your right to conclude that I am the biggest embarrassment to higher education in America, I think you’re wrong. In fact, I don’t even think I’m the biggest embarrassment to higher education in the state of North Carolina. But since you’re a liberal and you support ‘choice’ – provided we’re talking about dismembering children and not school vouchers for those who weren’t dismembered – I want to give you some options. In fact, I’m going to describe the antics of ten professors, official campus groups, and invited campus speakers in North Carolina and let you decide which constitutes the biggest embarrassment to higher education.”

The ten examples cited were approved forms of free speech in liberal academia.

1.      A women’s studies professor and a psychology professor at Western Carolina University co-sponsored in the early spring semester of 2013 a panel on bondage and S&M with the goal “to teach college students how to inflict pain on themselves and others for sexual pleasure.”

2.      At UNC Chapel Hill, “a feminist professor believes that women can lead happy lives without men. That’s nothing new. But what’s different is that she thinks women can form lifelong domestic partnerships with dogs and that those relationships will actually be fulfilling enough to replace marital relationships with men.”

3.      “At Duke University, feminists hired a ‘sex worker’ (read: prostitute) to speak as part of an event called the Sex Workers Art Show.” I am too embarrassed to repeat what the male prostitute did after his speech. It involved the rectum, a burning sparkler, and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

4.      “A porn star was once paid to give a speech at UNCG. The topic was ‘safe sodomy.’ After her speech, the feminist pornographer sold autographed butt plugs to students in attendance.”

5.      “A few years ago at UNC-Chapel Hill, a feminist group built a large vibrator museum in the middle of the campus quad as part of their ‘orgasm awareness week.’”

6.      “A feminist administrator at UNC-Wilmington sponsored a pro-abortion event. During the event they sold tee shirts saying ‘I had an abortion’ to students who… well, had abortions,” a not so subtle way to “encourage students to boast about the fact that they had killed their own children.”

7.      “The same UNCW administrator sponsored a workshop teaching students how to appreciate their orgasms.”

8.      “A UNCW English professor posted nude pictures of under-aged girls as part of an ‘art exhibit’ in the university library. The Provost then ordered the nude pictures to be move away from the library and into the university union.” The incensed English professor asked the Faculty Senate to censure the Provost for violating her ‘academic freedom.’ The Faculty Senate sided with the feminist professor. The Provost was later pressured to leave the university.”

9.      “A different feminist professor at UNCW accused a male professor of putting tear gas in her office. She was later caught putting her mail in a microwave oven. She did this because she thought people were trying to poison her with anthrax and that the oven would neutralize the toxins. She was not placed on leave for psychiatric reasons. Instead, she was designated as the university’s official ‘counter terrorism’ expert.”

10.  “And then there is Mike Adams. He thinks marriage is between a man and a woman, and he is the biggest embarrassment on campus.” http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/08/27/why_are_feminists_judging_miley_cyrus

Mike Adams, a criminology professor at Wilmington, wrote a book entitled “Letters to a Young Progressive: How to Avoid Wasting Your Life Protesting Things That You Don’t Understand.” I must hurry and order this book before it is censored and disappears off the shelves.

At the end of the day in America, I still have my freedom of silence and my thoughts are still free until they invent a computer that can read my mind. Have they?

The Tables Have Turned on "Useful Idiots"

Now that the tables have turned, the “useful idiots” appear wide awake and do not like the unlawful scrutiny and searches they’ve been subjected to without their knowledge – they feel duped.  Who can they blame?

According to the Washington Post, it is “the rise of the fourth branch.”  A large chart pictured the “imbalance of power;” at the top is the Executive that implements laws, below are the co-equals, the Legislative that makes laws and the Judicial that interprets laws. Underneath all, in a huge bubble, is the “Administrative state that makes, implements, and interprets its own rules without any accountability.” Featured prominently in this green bubble were the FCC and the EPA. (Jonathan Turley, “The Rise of the Fourth Branch,” Washington Post, May 26, 2013)

Jonathan Turley, considering the recent events, opined that “the 19th century Know-Nothing Party had returned to Washington. President Obama insisted he knew nothing about major decisions in the State Department, or the Justice Department, or the Internal Revenue Service. The heads of those agencies, in turn, insisted they knew nothing about major decisions by their subordinates. It was as if the government functioned by some hidden hand.” Turley defends the Executive  by saying,  “the suggestion that someone, even the president, is in control of today’s government may be an illusion.” http://jonathanturley.org/2013/05/26/the-rise-of-the-fourth-branch-of-government/

Unions, who were the main financial backers and supporters of Democrats and the unfortunately named The Affordable Care Act, thought themselves immune, they were too big to fit under the proverbial bus of Obamacare, with the rest of us, the “unwashed masses” living in a parallel universe. They were wrong.

To paraphrase Nancy Pelosi, who was in a terrible hurry to pass the Affordable Care Act in the middle of the night, Let us pass the law so you can see what’s in it. No more Cadillac plans, no special subsidies for Big Labor, nothing but reduced choices, higher premiums, rationing of care, and many other “unforeseen consequences” that the conservative opposition warned the public about constantly but such forewarnings fell on deaf ears.

The Affordable Care Act is so unaffordable, daunting, and potentially third-worldish that the mighty Congressmen, their staff, and Big Labor want exemptions, including the IRS union, the very people who are going to administer Obamacare and levy tax penalties for non-compliance on other people. Too bad Americans are not allowed to plead the Fifth when audited as the IRS’s Lois Lerner did when asked to testify.

It is hard to imagine how the federal government, with the efficiency of the post office and draconian empathy of the IRS, is going to enforce our collective health care efficiently and compassionately when they are running out of money to set up federal exchanges - the HHS Secretary is asking insurance CEOs for funds to establish health exchanges.  The infamous 15-member death panel is having difficulty finding conservatives to serve on this committee. Who wants to make life and death decisions, to tell people that their health care is being rationed when they need it most desperately?

AP reporters, whose rights to privacy were violated when their phones were tapped, are finally speaking out.  Fox News is outraged that their reporters are targeted. Could it be a little too late to put out the raging fire?

The liberal MSM, setting aside any decorum of objectivity held in the past, has been the overt propaganda arm of this administration, vilifying and marginalizing conservatives, Tea Party groups, veterans, and other like-minded Americans who did not like the excessive government intrusion into their lives, the IRS audits, denials of tax-exempt status, and firings, all because they exercised their freedom of speech and assembly.

Citizens did not speak out when Boston was under curfew without a declaration of Martial Law; people were marched out of their homes with their hands up like criminals, their houses searched without a warrant under the excuse that a 19-year old alleged bomber was on the loose. This fugitive was subsequently found hiding in a boat by a private citizen out for a smoke in his back yard.

Nobody defended Dr. Michael Savage, a prominent member of the press, when he was “banned from Britain” several years ago. The MSM was so silent, you could hear crickets chirping. His good name, reputation, excellent writing, outstanding career, and scholarship spanning decades were trampled by placing him in the same category with nefarious individuals and criminals, while the British press mocked his unrivaled and extraordinary talent as a “shock jock.” He was doing his job, reporting the truth as he saw it, exercising his freedom of speech. You may have disagreed with what he said, you may not have liked his style, his delivery, his abrasiveness, his directness - you had the choice to turn the dial and not listen to him, but you should have defended his right to speak.

Who is going to defend the “useful idiots?” I suppose they can hire expensive lawyers and plead the fifth like any other government employee. After all, nobody is held accountable anymore, we no longer have checks and balances, there is one party in power, and Congress does its bidding.

Money is printed ad infinitum via quantitative easing (QE), buying our own debt, and thus monetizing the deficit.  The low information voters are kept happy with generous welfare while the shrinking labor force, pensioners, and savers are paying the price. Much wealth has been lost and re-distributed from the producers to the slackers. Congress cannot stop spending just like a kid in a candy store.

The dollar is devalued, interest rates are kept at near zero by the Fed, saving accounts pay pennies each month in interest, and people are losing wealth and purchasing power. Inflation is officially reported to be low. In reality, it is around 9 percent because the Fed bought so much of its own debt, there is too much money chasing too few goods in a very slow growing economy plagued by uncertainty and lacking sufficient investment and consumer confidence. Food and gas are no longer included in the basket of goods used to calculate inflation. The unbelievable excuse is that prices for food and gas are volatile.  Prices are actually manipulated and influenced by deliberately unwise energy policies, such as using corn for biofuel, speculating on commodities, compounding scarcities from lower-yield crops, and lack of rain.

There is tremendous uncertainty in the economy, acting like a drag on investment to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. Business confidence and consumer confidence are quite low.  The Ginni index that reflects the poverty level in the country shows that people below the poverty line in America have become poorer every year of the current administration in spite of empty promises of “leveling the playing field” and creating non-existent “shovel -ready jobs.”

Do useful idiots understand the gravity of the situation, how close we are to economic disaster, once we hit $20 trillion in national debt, not counting unfunded liabilities? On some level, is it possible that we are all useful idiots?

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) said in a statement to Fox News last Friday, “The fact that the president and the vice president are hosting illegal immigrants in the White House while constricting citizen tours and refusing to meet with immigration officers says it all. The White House will not even grant ICE officers a low-level White House meeting but invites illegal immigrants into the Oval Office.” http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/05/25/top-gop-lawmakers-say-obama-is-icing-out-immigration-union-in-border-talks/

MSM reported in scripted unison that the War on Terror is over, just “onesies” and “twosies” isolated cases, Al Qaeda was on the run and gone, Benghazi was just a nuisance story, it was long time ago, what difference does it make, and the IRS scandal was too much ado about nothing because nobody knew anything, it was just some rogue lowly employees. The spoon-fed talking points were identical on every cable news channel.

The “useful tool” obviously staged protest and rant by Medea Benjamin of Code Pink in support of closing Gitmo and releasing the remaining terrorists is another example of how this administration uses far lefties to promote its agenda and to change the discussion from serious scandals to theatrical, uninterrupted heckling by a single Code Pink member. It is a known fact that many of the released prisoners from Guantanamo Bay have gone back to the battlefield and have killed many Americans.

For the last five years “useful idiots” have extolled the virtues and fantastic accomplishments of the dream presidency with a Nobel Peace Prize under its belt for expanding the Afghanistan war and the use of drones. Now that the tables have turned on them, is MSM going to wake up from this surreal dream?

Encounter with elitist liberal academia

My love of learning would eventually lead me to the bastion of intellectual freedom, the American university. I felt so liberated, having fled communism, where I had to keep my thoughts to myself or risk deportation to a far away re-education gulag, that I would be able to express my every thought without any fear of repraisal, incarceration, or death. Boy, was I terribly mistaken! I would have to fear death by denial of professorial and professional appointments usually reserved for progressives who were toting the communist doctrine and party line.

My first denial came in the form of a grant offered by the Soros Foundation. As long as I was a certain ethnic background, belonged to certain organizations, or espoused the communist doctrine, it was very easy to obtain it. I had no idea who the great George Soros was. This man had spent his entire life trying to destroy freedom in America and install a dictatorial regime, under a world government led by him. He had made billions of dollars by shorting various currencies around the world and was still doing it a few weeks ago. He had promised to destroy the American dollar and install a new world order where America no longer was the center of exceptionalism. What was particularly shocking, his family barely escaped the Holocaust, bringing him to America to have a better life, free to achieve the American dream. His hedge funds were successful, yet he's had nothing but vitriolic hatred for the very country that protected and nourished him to wealth and prosperity. Why would anyone want to destroy the U.S. when so many Americans have died defending it, and protecting other countries in distress around the globe over the last 234 years? It was incomprehensible to me.

We were forbidden in Romania to have any political or critical discussions in the family, to friends, at work, or in school. Everyone kept a low profile and bit their tongues because they knew, some family members were informers to the dreaded Security Police. The informers were taught how to bait children to turn in information about their parents. Children were so naive and honest to a fault. How were they to know that innocent remarks about their parents would possibly incarcerate or condemn them to death? The communist agitators certainly had plenty of orphanages to put these children in. The more the merrier! This was Ceausescu's future army of drones who would carry out his communist propaganda and utopia at the end of the barrel of a gun. All he had to do is issue a command. The repraisal was swift and brutal.

The population was not armed - the president made sure these arms were confiscated long time before he became a dictator - he enticed the citizens with rewards for turning arms in voluntarily, all in the name of public safety and the reduction of crime. The less guns in the street, he said, the lesser the crime rate. People complied gleefully. Who is going to argue with the all controlling, all knowing government who had spies everywhere?

Here I was in academia in the U.S., free to speak my mind, but the academia was communist. I was shocked! If you disagreed with their point of view, usually liberal progressive, you became an instant academic pariah, you were never considered for a faculty position, much less for tenure, no matter how smart, well educated, qualified, clever, or credentialed you were.

The minds of young Americans were being molded and shaped by progressive radicals who taught them that America was an evil empire, and the citizens were bad apples who could excoriate their sins by giving up their wealth , soverignty, and their country to foreign powers.

I was shocked and could not believe that many professors and teachers were members of specialized unions that rewarded the worst teachers for promoting their platform. These teachers made the circuits of conferences all over the country and the world, presenting worthless "papers" in the name of research. The more popular a teacher was on such circuit, the more offices he/she held in a professional organization, the higher the salary he/she received. It did not matter that they were seldom in the classroom, or that they were terrible teachers, or that they did not care about their students' performance, so long as they promoted the latest teaching methodology deemed worthy by the College of Education. Parents had no idea what kind of education their children received in exchange for high tuition. I realized very quickly that the College of Education was the breeding ground for future communists and that it would eventually bring the downfall of freedom in the United States.

The teachers hired were usually not the best, brightest, and most qualified to teach, but the ones holding certification, a worthless piece of paper that most people obtained if they jumped through the right hoops. College of Education graduates were performing in the bottom 50th percentile on National Teacher Exams as opposed to Arts and Sciences graduates who were performing in the top 50th percentile. But Arts and Sciences graduates could not be in the classroom without a license. The Department of Education issued these licenses to everyone so long as they took worthless College of Education classes that did not improve their knowledge in the area of expertise, neither their teaching ability.

A teacher could have a Ph.D. and years of teaching experience in a private sector, yet, without a license, they were forbidden to teach in the public schools. I found this rather strange since in Romania, only the best and the brightest were allowed to teach. They had to follow the communist party line, but they still had to be extremely prepared in their area of expertise. Sadly, in the U.S., expertise was not a requirement, just a license. As it was often the case, C and D average students would declare their major as education because other majors were too difficult for them. This resulted in a watering down of the quality of future teachers and thus a decline in the quality of instruction they delivered once in the classroom. Methodology and proper indoctrination trumped content every time.

As an European, I was shocked how little students and their teachers knew and how open and unashamed about their ignorance they were. I would have been embarassed to admit that I was lacking so many basic skills and education and still called myself educated, having earned a high school or college diploma.

There was so much nepotism both in U.S. high schools and U.S. colleges; a sought-after teacher would not sign a contract with a particular university until his/her spouse were given generous and well-placed employment as well. Women were slighted in favor of men, and blacks in favor of whites. How was this the land of opportunity and freedom, I thought, when academia, which is supposed to be the bastion of freedom of thought, was so communist?

The Romanian curriculum had to be approved by the Central Communist Party and it mandated, besides math and science, strange courses promoting communism such as Scientific Socialism, Philosophy of Socialism, Socialist Economics, as well as revisionist history and foreign languages, particularly those spoken in other communist countries. Teachers were well prepared in math and sciences and had to excell in communist indoctrination as well. Teachers had to tow the party line. They had to do their job otherwise they would be sent to concentration camp-like prisons. There was no nepotism and teachers had to compete for jobs by taking a test and then had to be approved by the communist party. Membership in the party was greatly encouraged and it was frowned upon if a teacher was not a card-carrying communist. Awards were seldom given and the work day lasted 4-5 hours, including Saturday.

Students as well as teachers were forced to "volunteer labor" in spring and fall. We had to plant and harvest crops every year for a month. To add insult to injury, we were not paid, not fed, not even given water in the fields. Because the crops were dusted with chemicals and water was not available, we could not even eat what we were harvesting. I felt like a muzzled dog.

We wore our uniforms designed by the communist party and young pioneers (the budding young communists) had to wear red bandanas. These school uniforms had embroidered name tags and identification numbers with the name of the school, should we misbehave while in public. Any citizen could report a student as to what he/she did right or wrong to the school principal. The principal or the dean were kings. Corporal punishment as well as public humiliation in the classroom were allowed and highly encouraged. Furthermore, parents had to attend monthly meetings with the teacher during which time they were humiliated as well in front of other parents, alphabetically, if their child's performance and grades were poor. Many parents would come home and spank their children not just for the bad grades but for having been publicly chastazied and criticized for their lack of parental skills and interest in their child's future. We did not dare go to school without having done homework or without being prepared for daily oral quizzes or unannounced test. Nobody complained like they do in America that the test was not announced and thus unfair. Students had to be prepared at all times. Grades of zero or fail were given for unprepared or wrong answers. You had to study every time the class met. There was no ACLU, no threatening law suits, no blaming teachers for the shortcomings of students or lack of preparation. Everyone had to tow the party line and the rigorous and rigid rules of behavior and performance. You failed a class, you had to repeat the year - No second chance in the summer.

Teenage pregnancy was unheard of, we only had one girl in a class of 950 students who was found to be pregnant two weeks before graduation in high school. She had to repeat 12th grade during night school before she could get her diploma. The rules were draconian, but they were the rules of the communist party. Nobody dared to object.

So, here I was, in the best country in the world where freedom of speech was guaranteed, yet I was among Marxist professors, and, although I could say what I wanted to say without fear of jail, I could not do it because it was professional suicide.
