The New World Order Morphing into Global Governance

James Gustave Speth, after co-founding the Natural Defense Council in 1971, ran the World Resource Institute, ultimately becoming the head of the U.N. Development Program.

In 1997, Speth said, “Global governance is here, here to stay, and driven by economic and environmental globalization, global governance will inevitably expand.”

Thanks to U.N. Agenda 21 signed by most nations in 1992, and to President Clinton who started its implementation at all levels of government, U.N. global governance has expanded and taken over everything with SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT and its lynchpin, SUSTAINABILITY.

What exactly is global governance? Maurice Strong, with a U.N.-funded Commission on Global Governance, produced a 410-page report, Our Global Neighborhood, with recommendations. It was not defined until 1999: “Global governance is the framework of rules, institutions, and practices that set limits on behavior of individuals, organizations, and companies.” The U.N. claims that global governance is not the same as world government which is ridiculous semantics.

Global governance definition expanded into “policies created by non-elected bureaucrats from international institutions, usually located in Switzerland, who limit the behavior of individuals, organizations, and companies.”

Ever since Cecil Rhodes’ “Secret Society” of 1891, a select group of European monarchs, global billionaires, and other elites believed that society would be best controlled by a benevolent global government made up of “enlightened intelligentsia.”

This philosophy was advanced by organizations such as Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, World Federalist Association, Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, Center for American Progress, and others.

Was the origin of global governance, the wide restrictions on individual freedoms at all levels, the New World Order?

In 1990-1991, following the 1989 collapse of the Soviet Union, the idea of President Bush’s New World Order (NWO) quickly became part of the media lexicon. Bush had “emphasized the New World Order in a nationally televised address and in his official letter to Congress.” He said that he was going “to craft a new world order for the resolution of disputes.”

National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft termed the NWO a “defining moment in world history.”  Serious thinkers realized that his New World Order (Novo Ordo Seclorum on our dollar bills) was the first step on the road to one world government or global governance.

The New World Order envisioned was developed via United Nations and global corporations. Technocracy, with the extreme global power it has today, did not exist in the 1990s.

David Funderburk, a former Ambassador, wrote at the time that the idea of using United Nations as a New World Order manager was half-baked since the United Nations was a “hotbed of KGB spies and Third World anti-American radicals.”

Thinkers quickly realized that “the old ideas of sovereignty and nationality will be casualties of the New World Order,” while money managers, global corporations, large banks, and other financial power centers will control everything from behind the scenes.

In 1991 David B. Funderburk asked a very significant question in his book, Betrayal of America, if the New World Order will put an end to American sovereignty. This sad reality is unfortunately in development now.

Throughout history, imposing one’s will on other countries and denying nations the right to choose their own system of government by interfering in their affairs and politics has not ended well.

Bush ran with the NWO idea. The League of Nations was probably the initial promoter of the NWO notion, to create a “new global political and economic system to replace the existing one.”

Michael Collins Piper wrote in “Who’s Behind the New World Order” in 1990 that U.N. and its promoters from the Council on Foreign Relations played the main role in Bush’s plans for the New World Order.

Henry Kissinger was a huge advocate for globalism and the one world government/global governance. He said in an interview that the challenge will be to maintain the new balance of power of the New World Order and that peace must be maintained by “global and regional balances of power.”

The New World Order was a major step toward one world government/global governance. The New World Order was not designed to benefit the average, tax paying American, but the elites and the Marxist billionaires.

Nothing about the American way of life would be preserved in the NWO: belief in God, the traditional family, self-worth and dignity, private property, individual liberties, and the representative Constitutional Republic. Instability would be planned and directed by government bureaucrats with cooperation from the media’s disinformation and deception machine.

The Soviets and all their satellites had advocated for a world government under a Communist leadership, but it never happened. The greedy American elites today are advocating the same world government/global governance, and they are succeeding even though it will spell the end of our American sovereignty.

Samuel Francis wrote in The Washington Times, Son of New World Order, on October 24, 1990, “U.N. treaties demand that the United States alter its laws to suit the demands of a foreign political body.” All treaties, conventions, and conferences organized by the United Nations over many decades required the end of national independence.

Mentioned in Francis’ article is a quote by Brian Urquhart, former Under Secretary General for Special Political Affairs at the U.N., “the U.N. should be granted expanded powers to manage vast problems such as global warming, refugees, overpopulation, environmental damage, and the eradication of hunger and disease.” Almost four decades later, it is happening.

Over time, U.S. politicians have complied with the U.N. dictates, while American citizens remained powerless to stop it, including the illegal alien invasion of the last four years. These powers were granted to the U.N. by corrupt politicians.

The end of separate nations governing their own citizens is here, along with the serious damage to western civilization. Global governance by elites who know best what is good for us is threatening our health, survival, and the self-sufficiency of healthy food production is in serious trouble. We don’t need to eat bugs with the dangerous chitin which humans cannot digest.

The existence in the U.N. of Communist tyrants and other dictators ensures that the scourge of Communism will not be defeated, it will be assisted by Americans and transferred across the ocean to America. And this has already occurred with the 2020 successful Marxist coup.

The late Henry Lamb wrote in 2010, “If America is to be free, Americans must rise up and force the government to abandon its quest for dictatorial power and honor the limitations on power set forth in the U.S. Constitution.”

America Stands in the Way of Global Governance

Whether we have global green religion or a socialist one world government, or a communist global governance, the end result will be the same – the foundation that guides globalists will be vastly different from the foundation that guides America, the U.S. Constitution.

The Declaration of Independence states that “… All men are created equal … endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights … to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness …”

But globalists think differently, freedoms and rights are granted by politicians.  The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 2, states that “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration.”

According to the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution we have freedom of speech, assembly, and religion. At least we did until the all-powerful tech giants decided to censor conservatives on all their social media platforms.

Globalists, on the other hand, wrote in the U.N. Covenant on Civil and Political Right, Article 19, “Freedom of expression may be restricted as approved by law.”

Our Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that “Private property shall not be taken for public use without just compensation.” Eminent domain abuses such powers under the guise of development for the public good. Private property is indispensable to a free market capitalist economy.

Globalists see private property as the source of evil and must be prohibited. The U.N. Conference on Human Settlements of 1976 states that “Private ownership of land contributes to social injustice; public control of land use is indispensable.” Land use and property rights are also addressed in U.N. Agenda 21/2030.

Communist dictators from socialist countries have confiscated their citizens’ private property in order to make everything equal, equally miserable and poor. They nationalized factories, confiscated land, wealth, and homes. They vilified people who owned property as the “bourgeoisie,” fomenting hatred among those who did not own property.

Mao, Castro, Ceausescu, Stalin, and other socialist/communist dictators destroyed the middle class because it owned property – land and real estate. In some countries farmers and urban property owners were executed to frighten the rest into submission, and others were sentenced to hard labor in gulags, building roads and railroads, and excavating ore in mines in order to pay for their sins of bourgeois ownership.

For the longest time, the American government “derived its power from the consent of the governed.” Lately huge changes have taken place and the government bureaucracy at all levels, local, state, and federal, along with Congress have taken dictatorial powers without the consent of the governed under the guise of doing what is good for the “collective.”

Collective, of course, is a communist code word for we tell you what to do and you obey. That is exactly what global governance believes, that “the governed derive their freedoms from the consent of the government."

To prove the veracity of such a statement, watch what the local, state, and federal government are forcing us to do, locking down healthy people, forcing healthy citizens to wear face masks indefinitely, throwing them in jail for non-compliance, fining them, refusing them entry to grocery stores, malls, and medical clinics, and destroying small business and the economy for a minute percentage of casualties from a virus deemed a “pandemic,” forbidding doctors to prescribe potentially healing drugs that have been in use for 65 years, and pharmacists to dispense them under the threat of losing their medical and pharma license, firing doctors who actually cured many patients with drugs the government disapprove of, while censoring scientific data because it does not agree with the government narrative. This has never before happened in America on such a huge scale.

As the late Henry Lamb said in 2010, “In developed nations, the war against freedom means removing from individuals the freedom to do and say whatever they wish in the pursuit of their own happiness, and the freedom to choose the people who have the authority to make laws.  This war is waged with the counterfeit threat of cataclysmic global warming which requires global coordinated action. It is waged with trade agreements, treaties, and propaganda. It is wage with guilt-laden finger-pointing at America’s prosperity as the reason the rest of the world is in poverty.”

The war against our freedom is waged by the United Nations, its myriad of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and global communists with large endowments and billions to burn for their cause, paying and using useful idiots within each country to create havoc and betray their own history and Constitution under the guise of fighting fascism and desiring to install socialism.

And they claim, they don’t want the socialism that has failed in all of the countries where it has been tried for decades and resulted in utter rejection by their citizens who lived in abject poverty and subjugation, after millions have lost their lives.

As Dinesh D’Souza points out in his recent book, these wannabe socialists promise everything on Earth on the condition that “… you are expected to give up your ownership of yourself, including your right to keep what is yours, your personal autonomy and dignity and your independence of mind.” This is just another “lust for power,” in which “socialism is the ideology of thieves and tyrants.” (United States of Socialism, Dinesh D’Souza, pp. 9-11)

D’Souza proposes that the American socialists, who added identity politics (Latino, black, Asian, Pacific Islander, disabled, LGBTQ) to their platform, with the social justice component, should call their movement “identity socialism.”

The young and old Americans who actually desire socialism express their desire to be taken care of by the daddy government, a desire of dependency that is stronger than the desire to be free.
I have actually been told by older relatives, who now live free of socialism and the Communist Party, that they wished to return to the country before the 1989 revolution, because today, they have to take care of themselves and it is hard.

In the old socialist country, the Communist Party took care of them and paid them an equal but miserable salary regardless of work participation and effort. And that satisfied them that they did not have to struggle and work. They did not have freedom but they had equality of result – they all were paid the same regardless of effort, skill, and education. The country was ruled by constant dictatorial decrees that even told them how much food they could consume per day and were given rations accordingly.

Non-governmental organizations have spread around the world indoctrinating disaffected populations and youth to start a new revolution under the banner of “#resist.” They are socialists advocating the same old failed system but using repackaged old slogans, promising free technology, an easy life, free education, homes, a guaranteed income, free health care, child care, and everything else they desire. It rings hollow as these promises have been made to all the other failed socialist countries around the globe.

Take Poland’s case as an example - Lech Walesa, who is now 76, a shipyard electrician, became the leader of the Solidarity movement in 1980, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, and President of Poland in 1990. He is still in politics demanding that the government respect the constitution. Why would that be necessary in a post-communist society? Because the communist corruption never went away, it became part of the government under different names and the old guard and their neo communist spawn are still in charge.

Young people in Poland and elsewhere in the former Iron Curtain countries have been indoctrinated into the new socialism that is sweeping the globe. I call it hollow socialism because it is devoid of substance and full of empty promises.

When the Iron Curtain fell, children of survivors of socialism/communism have gone to school in the west on Soros and other leftist-founded scholarships. They are beholden to his philosophy of the new world. His NGOs stepped in and wrote the school textbooks to match his philosophy of the new world order predicated on environmentalism and socialism.

Young Polish women have rallied around the global feminist movement and environmentalism just like in the west and are #resisting the people who are fighting political corruption and communism.

The Polish progressive movement came up with the slogan, “Women and Earth have too much to bear.” It is not a coincidence that their Manifa, spring march in Gdansk, copied the western model and advocated for the feminist movement and environmentalism, carrying LBGTQ flags. Globalists made sure that the movement spread across the globe, carrying the same signs and the same message.

If one is still deluded that socialism works if it is tried the “right way” or by the “right people,” look at Cuba today – it oozes poverty out of the pores of every decaying building under the leadership of the tyrant comrade Castro; look at Venezuela today, with the richest oil reserves, yet it cannot feed its people; and look at North Korea and the starvation of its people. Photographed from space at night, North Korea looks like a black hole – there are no lights at all, just complete darkness. And last, but not least, look at the mass poverty in the cities in America that have been run by a socialist Democrat government for decades – they resemble third world nations.

Global Governance to Subvert our Sovereignty through Mayors

Another program/initiative will be implemented quietly around the country in 2016 while American citizens are blissfully unaware.  The United States Council of Mayors (USCM) has announced in March 2015 that they are supporting the Global Parliament of Mayors.

The announcement seems innocuous enough. We have global partnerships springing up all the time now. Our children are being indoctrinated in public and private schools to become global citizens, with no allegiance to their own country; they belong to the globe, with United Nations at the helm. Many institutions of higher learning and k-12 advertise proudly the preparation of the global citizens.

The role of the U.S. Council of Mayors is to create a forum for mayors to exchange ideas, strengthening leadership and management tools, to ensure that federal policy meets urban needs, to strengthen federal-city relationships, and to promote the development of effective national urban/suburban policy. The mayor of Baltimore, the famous Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, is the current president of the USCM. http://www.globalparliamentofmayors.org/partners/4588430924

According to its website, “The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) is the official non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,400 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.”

Among international advisors of USCM noted on the website are former mega cities mayors, the Earth Institute, former prime ministers, the Center for Urban Research, Barclays Capital, Brookings Institute, professors from Columbia University, the London School of Economics, and New York University, and the C40 (the Cities Climate Leadership Group composed of 78 member cities around the world united to fight greenhouse gas emissions).

What is the Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM) and why would USMC be a perfect partner? GPM is a project, a “political and civic institution by, for, and of cities.” The problem with this organization is that it is another phantom layer of government that was not elected by the people, for the people, and does not necessarily act in the best interests of the American people.  Mayors are elected by the people to represent their local interests, not the global interests as dictated by the United Nations Agenda 2030, the U.N. Agenda 21 on steroids.

American mayors are not elected to “identify and pursue in common the public goods of urban cities around the world through a new global governance platform deploying collective urban political power that manifests the right of cities to govern themselves, and their responsibility to do so by contributing viable cross-border solutions to global challenges that are also municipal challenges. In an era of interdependence, where nation states have become dysfunctional and cities are rising everywhere, it is time to take the visionary leap from effective local governance to true global governance.” American mayors are elected to represent the interests of the residents in their city, not a global entity.

I am not sure American citizens have agreed to this global governance, they want to govern themselves through elected officials. Dragging our cities into a compact that would result in spreading the wealth of our successful cities to the strife-ridden tribal societies is not how American citizens and their cities want to spend taxpayer dollars. Nor do American citizens want to bend over to the collective urban political power of the elites who have made such decision for them.

Who came up with this idea that “nation states and international organizations are finding it ever more difficult to respond to the global challenges facing humanity, from climate change and immigration, to terrorism and pandemic disease, from spreading inequality and global markets to new technology and religious conflict?”

Poor Hispanics, victims of economic inequality of their own governments, are flooding our country through the southern border. Muslim “refugees” are spreading religious chaos, violence, and conflict in their own countries and the countries they invade.

Climate has been changing for millennia without any interference from humans and the Vostock ice core sample demonstrate so. The global warming hoax has been proven a fraud, time and time again. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is not a pollutant; it is the gas of plant life. But the climate change industry is not giving up their agenda because it is a veritable cash cow.

According to the GPM website, the Global Parliament of Mayors is the work of Dr. Benjamin Barber, political theorist and author, and his research presented in his book, “If Mayors Ruled the World: Dysfunctional Nations, Rising Cities,” published in 2013 by Yale University Press.

The Global Parliament of Mayors is a “new beacon for global governance on climate change and other critical issues in what is becoming a year of extraordinary promise and a season of hope for humankind.” http://www.globalparliamentofmayors.org/home/4589660128

Since Americans have not voted at the polls for global governance, this is a stealth effort to install elected politicians and unelected bureaucrats to control cities around the world.

Why exactly must we take “the visionary leap from effective local governance to true global governance?” If we have effective local governance, why must we bow to globalists, to bureaucrat elitists who want to control us?

If cities are successfully governing themselves, they don’t need a layer of ghost government from abroad telling them how to run their cities or spend their taxpayer dollars, and I am not sure Americans will be too pleased when learning about this new attempt to subvert our sovereignty.

U.N. Agenda 21 has already infiltrated itself across the U.S. through the board of supervisors with membership in ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, renamed Local Governments for Sustainability), regionalism, and zoning regulations which have transformed parts of the cities into high rise, high density, mixed-use buildings, and have taken citizens out of their cars via excessive tolls and narrowing roads into light rail, buses, and bikes.

Agricultural land was taken out of use through conservation easements with the help of visioning committees that promoted smart/green growth. There is no government organization left that does not have a sustainable development plan in place, the lynchpin of U.N.’s Agenda 21. Now the U.N. elites are going to gain access into the mayors’ offices across the globe.

Earth System Global Governance, The Earth Charter, and Sustainable Development

One of the influential voices of the progressive environmentalist movement is The Earth Charter. This organization emphasizes global control of everything. Here is a sampling of its charter with direct quotations.

“Respect and care for the community of life”

-          Respect Earth and life in all its diversity (Protect the delta smelt in California by dumping fresh water into the ocean while an entire state is experiencing drought?)

-          Care for the community of life with understanding, compassion, and love

-          Build democratic societies that are just, participatory, sustainable, and peaceful (Is it statistically true that democratic societies are peaceful, just, and do not go to war but constitutional republic do? Where is the evidence?)

-          Secure Earth’s bounty and beauty for present and future generations (Would that be accomplished by taking arable land out of production, re-wild it, and then restrict human habitation to designated urban areas as evidenced by the Biodiversity map also known as the Wildlands Project map?) http://www.propertyrightsresearch.org/images/wildlands_map.jpg

“Ecological integrity”

-          Adopt at all levels sustainable development plans and regulations that make environmental conservation and rehabilitation integral to all development initiatives (This is definitely in full swing in all the Green Growth, Smart Growth Initiatives of Agenda 21 that restrict zoning to multi-purpose high rise living, particularly in the U.S.)

-          Adopt patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction that safeguard Earth’s regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being (Would U.N. decide the patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction?)

-          Ensure universal access to health care that fosters reproductive health and responsible reproduction (Who exactly decides what is responsible reproduction and what is not and how will it be enforced?)

-          Adopt lifestyles that emphasize the quality of life and material sufficiency in a finite world (Who becomes the arbiter of lifestyle and what constitute material sufficiency?)

-          Act with restraint and efficiency when using energy, and rely increasingly on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind” (Who decides what ‘restraint’ is in using energy and what is the cutoff when use is disallowed?)

 “Social and Economic Justice”

-        Eradicate poverty as an ethical, social, and environmental imperative

-        Promote the equitable distribution of wealth within nations and among nations (Redistribution of wealth is already underway, from producers to non-producers.)

-         Affirm gender equality and equity as prerequisites to sustainable development and ensure universal access to education, health care, and economic opportunity (This gender equality and equity seems to be working well in the Muslim world dictatorships.)

-        Uphold the right of all, without discrimination, to a natural and social environment supportive of human dignity, bodily health, and spiritual well-being, with special attention to the rights of indigenous peoples and minorities” (If it’s universal access, isn’t it discriminatory to give special attention to certain groups? What kind of ‘right of all’ are they talking about?)

“Democracy, Nonviolence, and Peace”

-        Provide all, especially children and youth, with educational opportunities that empower them to contribute actively to sustainable development (Empower youth to do what with sustainable development?)

-        Treat all living beings with respect and consideration (Would animals receive lawyers to make sure humans treat animals with ‘respect and consideration?’)

-        Demilitarize national security system to the level of a non-provocative defense posture, and convert military resources to peaceful purposes, including ecological restoration (Who decides what constitutes levels of non-provocative defense posture and how military resources will be converted to peaceful purposes?)

-        Eliminate nuclear, biological, and toxic weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, Ensure that the use of orbital and outer space supports environmental protection and peace http://www.earthcharterinaction.org/content/pages/Read-the-Charter.html

And who is going to do all this global governance (control) of the Earth through sustainable development, the lynchpin of U.N. Agenda 21? United Nations, of course, run by none other than third world nations, the very beneficiaries of this wealth redistribution through “justice and peace” scheme.

I would not exactly call wealth confiscation from the producers to the non-producers “justice” or “peaceful.” I would call it unjust and coercive seizure of earned wealth under the guise of saving the planet from a non-existent   environmental meltdown. The constant loud rhetoric coming from the progressive main stream media, academia, and crony capitalists has created a very rich and lucrative climate change industry worth trillions.

“In order to build a sustainable global community, the nations of the world must renew their commitment to the United Nations, fulfill their obligations under existing international agreements, and support the implementation of Earth Charter principles with an international legally binding instrument on environment and development.”

On the occasion of the Earth Charter’s 15 years of sustainable global governance indoctrination, the Earth Charter is planning activities and propaganda around the globe to push further its “universal ethical principles of sustainable development under the slogan, “One Earth Community, One Common Destiny” and the banner “Earth Charter +15.”

The Earth Charter was launched on June 29, 2000 in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. The partners of the Earth Charter are listed here. http://www.earthcharterinaction.org/content/pages/Partners.html Council members listed oversee the work of the Earth Charter Secretariat. http://www.earthcharterinaction.org/content/pages/Council.html The Earth Charter Secretariat staff is listed here. http://www.earthcharterinaction.org/content/pages/Secretariat%20Staff

Mikhail Gorbachev, the co-author of The Earth Charter wrote, “I envisage the principles of The Earth Charter to be a new form of the Ten Commandments. They lay the foundation for a sustainable global earth community.” The citizens of various countries who believe in the Biblical Ten Commandments must reorient their entire lives to fit this new directive of progressive global governance.

According to the United Nations Commission on Global Governance, “Regionalism must precede globalism. We foresee a seamless system of governance from local communities, individual states, regional unions, and up through to the United Nations itself.” What a neat Ponzi scheme of wealth redistribution in the name of saving the Earth from man-made Armageddon!

If you wonder about this new world order, here is a simple explanation how they are doing it. “The alternative to the existing world order can only emerge as a result of a new human dimension of progress. We envision a revolution of the mind, a new way of thinking,” said Mikhail Gorbachev at the State of the World Forum. Schools have been quite busy in the last forty years indoctrinating children into the global governance new way of thinking and the global citizen mindset.

The 2015 Canberra Conference on Earth System Governance, “Democracy and Resilience in the Anthropocene,”  will offer a Summer School on Earth System Governance (December 9-12, 2015) and an excursion to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve (December 13, 2015).

According to the Smithsonian, “Anthropocene has become an environmental buzzword ever since the atmospheric chemist and Nobel laureate Paul Crutzen popularized it in 2000.” Environmental activists have blamed “man” (anthropo) and “new” (cene) for causing extinction of plants and animals and polluting the planet through man’s industrial revolution, having changed the atmosphere and the climate irreversibly.  http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/what-is-the-anthropocene-and-are-we-in-it-164801414/#RApVwdO4tHMSkqrT.99

The newest title in the Earth System Governance series is available from MIT Press, “Consensus and Global Environmental Governance: Deliberative Democracy in Nature’s Regime,” exploring “the practical and conceptual implications of juristic democracy as a new approach to international environmental governance.” More global governance publications and abstracts can be found at www.earthsystemgovernance.org/publications

If you are wondering what “juristic democracy” is and what it has to do with the environment, you are not alone. I don’t think that “consensus” has a place in science and science reasoning; “consensus” means general agreement of opinion, it is not a scientific fact.

According to its website, “The Earth System Governance Project is the largest social science research network in the area of governance and global environmental change.”  The researchers include “social and natural scientists.” http://www.earthsystemgovernance.org/

The Sustainable Development buzz word that is now used in every facet of our lives has been defined in 1987 by the World Commission on Environment and Development (also known as the Brundtland Commission) report titled ‘Our Common Future.’ Sustainable Development is “Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

United Nations agencies working against the economic needs and wishes of U.S. citizens compiled a blueprint for achieving sustainable development called U.N. Agenda 21. This 40 chapter document (about 300 pages) addresses every facet of human life and how sustainable development should be implemented through local, state, and federal government. With its grant-making power (‘visioning grants’ and ‘challenge grants’) and conservation easements (lower taxes in exchange for taking land out of agricultural use or any use for several years or in perpetuity) , the federal government promoted the sustainable development idea and policies to the state and local levels with the creation of an army of new community of sustainable development NGOs (non-government organizations) such as the American Planning Association, the Sustainable Resource Center, and the Institute for Sustainable Development. There is not one level of government left in the U.S. or university that does not have a Sustainable Development plan in place or a degree program that involves the phrase Sustainable Development.

Rain, God's Water Regulated by Progressives

The water you drink today has likely been around in one form or another since dinosaurs roamed the Earth, hundreds of millions of years ago.” – National Geographic

Water is life and it is recyclable, covering 70 percent of our planet; 2.5 percent is fresh water and “only 1 percent is easily accessible, the rest is trapped in glaciers and snowfields.” National Geographic tries to make the case that freshwater is in a crisis since its levels have remained the same over millennia but the human population has exploded to seven billion. No mention is made of animals that also need drinking water.
http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/freshwater/freshwater-crisis/

Environmentalists have been telling us for quite some time that man-made global warming would result in the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, causing 25 feet rise in the ocean levels, destroying all the islands and coastal areas around the globe. But the moneyed liberals who spell this gloom and doom scenario have built elaborate mansions in coastal areas around the globe. And the polar ice caps have experienced this year a 60 percent increase in ice. http://www.ecnmag.com/blogs/2013/09/has-global-cooling-begun-arctic-ice-caps-grow-60-year

Humans seem to be “inefficient water users,” says National Geographic. One hamburger takes 630 gallons to produce while “water-intensive crops such as cotton are grown in arid regions.” In the U.S., cotton is grown in the south where water is plentiful.

The ever-wise United Nations guestimates that by 2025, “1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity, with two-thirds of the world’s population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change.” Non-existent global warming/climate change is the culprit even though the earth has been cooling for the last 15 years. http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml

Rainwater has thus become a contentious issue which must be regulated by EPA say environmentalists and their progressive supporters around the country who make their life mission to control the rest of us because we are so ignorant, we must be told what to do in painful detail. http://www.waterworld.com/articles/print/volume-29/issue-8/urban-water-management/regulating-rainfall.html  A wise judge in Virginia struck down the attempted rainwater regulation by the EPA. http://conservative-outlooks.com/2013/01/15/epas-attempt-to-regulate-rainwater-dries-up/ However, it did not stop other states and local boards to proceed with implementation of its regulation.

Before 2009 “it was illegal in Colorado to gather rainwater and snowmelt that fell from a rooftop, patio, or driveway into barrels.” It was considered theft. In most of the western United States, it is still illegal to capture rainwater due to “the prior appropriation doctrine that governs water.” Colorado allowed capture after a study revealed that 97 percent of rainfall in the Denver area never reached the rivers, it evaporated.

The Colorado Senate Bill 09-080 was so strict that urbanites could never capture rainwater.  The rules were as follows:

-          Collecting rainwater had to be done only on residential property

-          The homeowner had to have a legal entitlement to a well

-          No water was provided by a city to the homeowner

-          Water could only be collected from the roof

-          The rainwater collected could only be used in the manner described in the well permit

I wonder how many people are in violation of the law when they leave an empty container outside and it fills up with rainwater?

Progressives and the U.N. are obsessed with water, among many other things, as a way to control what people do in their daily lives. Take for instance a golfing community in Texas that pumps water from the Brazos river running next to the golf course. After estimating the number of gallons of water needed to water their lawn, they paid the county for the water plus an additional amount in case they have underestimated their needs. After years of this business arrangement, the county wants to “renegotiate” the agreement because they feel that the course is not entitled to so much of “God’s water.”

Additionally, the residents cannot build cisterns to catch rainfall because “God’s water” would run on the property, seep into the ground, and run off into the river, thus polluting it.

As I described in my previous article, http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/58534
United Nations has a strong vested interest to control our water supply and our passage through the seas, oceans, our shipping, fishing, and mineral and oil exploration on the bottom of the ocean. They are controlling it through Agenda 21, chapters 17 and 18 signed by 178 countries, including the United States, and through the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) which has not yet been ratified by the Senate for lack of sufficient votes. They will keep trying until they have the votes.

Executive Order 13603 from March 16, 2012 gives the Department of Defense authority over all water resources. The order also covers all food, transportation, energy, construction materials, “health resources,” farm equipment, fertilizers, and all fuels that can be commandeered and controlled by our government both in peacetime and during national emergencies. http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/03/16/executive-order-national-defense-resources-preparedness

Tombstone, Arizona, “the town too tough to die,” has been embroiled in expensive litigation with the USDA and the Forest Service over its ability to use water from the mountain springs that has provided the desert town with water since the 1880s, predating the Wilderness Act by 80 years.

A Monument Fire in 2011 destroyed the pipes in Huachuca Mountains that carried the water down from its source in the Miller Canyon Wilderness Area. Boulders the size of cars buried the pipes. The Forest Service denied residents the use of heavy machinery to unearth the pipes that were covered in some places by 12 feet of mud. Instead, they could only use wheelbarrows and hand tools. As they were protecting an endangered species, a pair of nesting Mexican spotted owls, the Forest Service declined to give further information unless the Goldwater Institute paid nearly $80,000 in fees. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/06/12/is-this-owl-forcing-historic-tombstone-az-to-fix-water-lines-with-horses-and-handtools/

Liberals do not have a problem with wind turbines chopping up millions of birds in flight around the world, including the golden eagle in California, as long as it is done in the name of renewable energy. But disturbing a pair of nesting Mexican spotted owls, so that 1,600 humans can get water, is not acceptable.  http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2013/09/27/California-wind-farm-seeks-permit-to-kill-eagles/UPI-90981380303425/

The 10th Amendment protects states and their subdivisions from federal regulations that impede their ability to fulfill essential health and safety functions. “Though the water may originate on National Forest lands, Bureau of Land Management lands, and other federally managed lands, the rights to that water belong to the farms and ranches and cities.” The lawyers for the federal government disagree.

In mid-June 2012, a group of citizens armed with shovels trekked 2 miles up the mountain in 100 degree heat to restore water by hand from the Gardner Spring to the historical Tombstone, Arizona. http://netrightdaily.com/2012/06/tombstone-az-residents-forced-to-use-shovels-and-hand-tools-to-fix-water-supply/

Mr. Gosar made a one minute speech to the House of Representatives on December 12, 2012, “Our communities shouldn’t need their Congressman or a lawsuit to make basic repairs to infrastructure. The Federal Government should work with us, not against us, to preserve western water supplies.” http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?r112:H12DE2-0026:/

We now have to suffer the ill-effects of low flush “enviro-friendly” toilets that don’t really save any water since people have to flush them 4-5 times in order to get rid of human waste. To make matters worse, city sewers get stopped up because of low-flush toilets, costing them millions and millions of dollars a year to fix problems. The much touted flushable wipes also clog the small residential pipes and cost homeowners millions of dollars a year to dig out them out and replace. Yet there is plenty of water, save for cyclical periods of draught.

According to discovery.com, there are over 15,000 desalination plants around the world that convert ocean water into drinking water either by distillation or reverse osmosis. Environmentalists complain that both processes use too much electricity. Distillation involves boiling the sea water, capturing the steam, separating it into cooling tanks, which then condense the steam into fresh water. Reverse osmosis is filtration that removes the salt and minerals from the water. The brine left behind is usually piped back into the ocean.

Mike Mickley wrote in “US Municipal Desalination Plants: Number, Types, Location, Sizes, and Concentrate Management Practices” that 324 plants were built since 1971 in the United States, capable of producing 25,000 gallons of fresh water per day. The Carlsbad desalination plant in San Diego, California is slated for completion in 2016 and will be capable of producing 50 million gallons of fresh water per day, providing 7 percent of the San Diego region’s supply needs.

Progressive don’t like desalination because it uses too much electricity provided by coal and other fossil fuels, the culprits of CO2 and global warming. They would prefer that we live in a feudal type society centered on a self-sufficient village.

But the global warming did not pan out because it is a hoax. South Dakota got a record 23 inches of snow in early October this year that killed 100,000 cows - they either suffocated or froze to death. The MSM, with the exception of Fox News and the foreign press, did not report the disaster caused by the massive blizzard preceded by heavy rain. Our government did not send any help because South Dakota is flush with revenue from tar sands. Besides, the evil conservatives caused the government to shut down, FEMA’s hands were tied. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/13/south-dakota-ranchers-reel-after-catastrophic-storm-leaves-up-to-100000-cattle/

Progressives don’t like hydroelectric power generation because it is interfering with nature, aquatic habitats, and the natural flow of rivers. Many dams have been blown up during this administration, citing this reason. The fact that nature itself causes rivers to flood, creating and destroying habitats at the same time, has escaped the progressive agenda.

How Much Do You Like Your Electricity?

I pledge allegiance to the Earth and all its sacred parts. Its water, land, and living things and all its human hearts.”

-Global Education Associates, The Earth Pledge

If you like your electricity, refrigeration, and air conditioning, you should pay careful attention. Most readers are by now familiar with Smart Meters that read electricity, gas, and water consumption from a remote location. They are mandated and forced upon us by the United Nations Agenda 21 through its octopus arms of the EPA, the federal government, NGOs, and local and state governments in the name of saving the planet. The Utility Mother Ship can turn off your power during peak consumption, very hot or cold days, and adjust your thermostats and appliances from far away.

Most readers are also familiar with this administration’s war on coal and their intent to bankrupt the coal industry and replace our electricity derived from coal (49%) with its underperforming and expensive cousin, electricity derived from green and renewable energy. Most know that this energy cannot deliver all the electricity that our large economy needs, hence rationing of electricity will have to take place. How will that be accomplished? The power companies will have the power and authority, with or without your expressed consent, but the blessing of our government, to cut off your power whenever they deem necessary.

Is this happening because our government really cares about the planet and alleged global warming? No. Is it happening because they want to transfer your wealth to poorer countries in the name of social justice, reduce your consumption deliberately, and control your health, travel, where you live, and what you do in your everyday life? Yes.

My grocery store advertises their Sustainability plan with a huge globe logo as 16 million pounds of food donated to food banks that did not have to go into landfills, 103 million pounds of cardboard and office paper recycled, saving 530,000 trees, and 1 reusable shopping bag eliminating over 160 million plastic bags (I have not verified the veracity of these claims). I have no problem with any of these savings because they are voluntary, people understanding that we share in keeping a clean environment and donating to those in need at the same time.

What I do have a problem with is forced government re-distribution of wealth to third world nations and rationing of our energy and electricity, bankrupting our economy in the process, making life so miserable unnecessarily, all in the name of saving the planet from an alleged global warming based on “consensus” and a climate change that varies anyway independently of man-made activity.

The latest assault on our freedom is the Environmental Protection Agency’s “optional” requirement for customers to connect refrigerators and freezers to a “smart grid” utility provider. The utility will regulate appliances power consumption, “including curtailing operations during more expensive peak-demand times.” An easy translation, your appliances will be cut off and your food and medicine stored therein will spoil.

Manufacturers of appliances are “encouraged” to add this connectivity feature; if they do, the bribery is a credit towards meeting the Energy Star efficiency requirements. How far of a stretch is it that in the very near future, an executive order will make it mandatory to connect everything to a smart meter and a smart grid?  An IBD editorial is quoting former EPA director Carol Browner who told U.S. News and World Report in 2009, “Eventually, we can get to a system when an electric company will be able to hold back some of the power so that maybe your air-conditioner won’t operate to its peak.”  http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/070513-662691-epa-pushes-refrigerator-smart-grid-connections.htm#ixzz2YDp3VXL2

Proponents of Sustainable Development, the keystone of U.N. Agenda 21, are worried that Americans are finally understanding that daily controls over land development/grab and energy policy are rooted in the global governance policy called U.N. Agenda 21 ratified in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio with the blessing of President George Bush Sr. and subsequently advanced through legislation and executive orders by Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.

Supporters of U.N. Agenda 21 dismiss the truth by saying that this document has no teeth, is 20 years old, and has no enforcement power. The American Planning Association, the EPA, the Club of Rome, Greenpeace, World Wildlife Fund, Green Cross International, World Watch Institute, Environmental Defense Fund, Planetary Citizens, Global Alliance for Transforming Education, Earth First, Sierra Club, ICLEI, and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) say that they have “no connection to U.N. Agenda 21 and no hidden agenda.” There are thousands of statements, documents, quotes, and videos on the web that confirm their true agenda and connection to U.N. Agenda 21.

Tom DeWeese, one of more active speakers around the country against U.N. Agenda 21, found an article/commentary by Robert Odland, “How Sustainable is Our Planning” (Northern News, April 1994). Paragraph 5 was most revealing - “Vice President Gore’s book, Earth in the Balance addressed many of the general issues of sustainability. Within the past year, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development has been organized to develop recommendations for incorporating sustainability into the federal government. Also, various groups have been formed to implement U.N. Agenda 21, a comprehensive blueprint for sustainable development that was adopted at the recent UNCED conference in Rio de Janeiro.” (The Earth Summit) According to Tom DeWeese, this one paragraph ties together The American Planning Association, U.N. Agenda 21, UN’s Earth Summit, Al Gore, Sustainable Development, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, NGO groups, and the “comprehensive Blueprint” for Sustainable planning.   http://americanpolicy.org/2013/06/05/here-it-is-the-smoking-gun/#sthash.uEu4usay.UqCdIShE.dpuf

All these NGOs, APA, and the EPA are pushing sustainability because they believe “planning should be a tool for allocating resources… and eliminating the great inequalities of wealth and power in our society… because the free market has proven incapable of doing this.” The exact quote is found in the PlannersNetwork.org of which APA is a member. http://www.plannersnetwork.org/about/statement-of-principles/

We have to be careful stewards of our planet. We have been wasteful at times with our natural resources and we have affected knowingly and unknowingly biodiversity along the way. We fixed some problems and nature took care of others. It is easy to see how people would be duped into believing the environmental groups that are calling for a “green revolution.” But is this really their true intent, “greening the planet?” Here are two quotes of environmentalists that should give us all pause.

“We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects. We must reclaim the roads and plowed lands, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of acres of presently settled land.” (David Foreman, co-founder of Earth First) http://www-formal.stanford.edu/jmc/progress/quotes.html

“The extinction of Homo Sapiens would mean survival for millions, if not billions, of Earth-dwelling species. Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on Earth – social and environmental.” (Ingrid Newkirk, former President of PETA) Newkirk, Ingrid, as quoted in Eco-terrorism: radical environmental and animal liberation movements by Don Liddick) http://books.google.com/books?id=kV4umgkiilcC
