Power and Control

There is no doubt that power and control over millions of other human beings provide those at the top, the cabal of globalists, with immense feelings of intoxication, a god-like power.  

The quest for this all-consuming power has created social, political, and economic upheaval across the centuries. And billions of innocents paid the ultimate price for wars, famine, pestilence, and poverty caused by men with aspirations to control as much land as possible and humanity in general.

The quest for power and control exploded with the Industrial Revolution which eventually had a deep effect on many countries in the twentieth century: socialism, revolutions, bolshevism, communism, fascism, and many other isms that are still plaguing the globe in the twenty-first century.

America’s initial incursion into communism started with the arrival of the first Marxists/Socialists from Germany in the middle of the nineteenth century. More European immigrants brought with them the ideas and theories of Ferdinand Lassalle (1825-1864) and Mikhail Bakunin (1814-1876).

Joseph Weydemeyer (1818-1866), a friend of Marx and Engels, came to this country in 1851; a former artillery officer in the Prussian army, he enlisted in the Union Army as a captain and retired as a general. After the Civil War, he edited a Marxist newspaper in St. Louis in which Marx’s and Engel’s ideas were published for German immigrants.

Another German immigrant, Friedrich Sorge (1826-1906), was also a pioneer of Marxism in America. He organized a communist club in New York City in 1857. He led the American branch of the First International. 

Communism has a long history in New York City. Marx established the world headquarters of the First International there in 1872 and placed Sorge in charge. 

The year 1917 marked the entry of the United States into World War I. For communists, however, 1917 represented something else entirely.

The communists seized power in Russia in 1917 during the “Great October Socialist Revolution.” According to the Gregorian calendar, the date was November 7, 1917. However, according to the Julian calendar used by the Russians, the revolution took place on October 25, 1917, hence the term “October Revolution.”

According to J.E. Hoover, the “Great October Socialist Revolution” was actually two events in Russia in 1917:

1.     The first event was the overthrow of the czarist regime in March 1917 and its replacement with a Provisional Government.

2.     The second event was the actual communist seizure of power on November 7 when the Russian people’s temporary freedom ended. The czarist power and control were replaced by the communist power and control.

Power and control exercised by a few egotistical mad men fills historical pages with bloody treachery, deceit, individual and mass terrorism, broken treaties, infiltrations, subversions, guerilla warfare, sabotage, wars, torture, genocide, repression of minorities, purges, assassinations, slave-labor camps, prisons, concentration camps, religious suppression and persecution, abrogation of individual liberties, and the ultimate goal to communize the planet under one government.

Military terms seem to abound in the communist tactics of power and control, i.e., “mobilize the masses,” “advance detachment of the proletariat,” “storm the fortress of capitalism,” “in the front ranks of the struggle,” and “shifts in the ranks.”  They are clever wordsmiths, replacing reality with euphemisms and meaningless slogans of deceit. They train ideologically and militarily an elite corps of “professional revolutionaries” in order to influence mass support of non-communists.

Communists use front groups and organizations to disseminate their propaganda through newspapers, magazines, schools, universities, Hollywood, and mass media.

They form bonds and temporary coalitions with other political organizations while pretending to work in the interest of the majority of the population. 

The most insidious action is sponsoring as many candidates as possible for election to public office at all levels. And they have deep pockets filled by donations from billionaires who share the same communist ideology.

The communists’ religion is atheism. To Marx and Lenin, organized religion was “the opium of the people.”  Lenin mocked religion as a “kind of spiritual gin in which the slaves of capital drown their human shape and their claims to any decent human life.”

The Bolshevik’s “proletarian” revolution was “actually an armed insurrection by a small group against an almost powerless government.”  

Interestingly, not all communist coups were armed insurrections, some coups occurred in the voting booths through massive cheating and deception.  

Others took power and control through misleading and false promises of “Bread, Peace, and Freedom!” The communists’ idea of liberty was the establishment of a police state based on naked force and terror. And they succeeded in many Soviet-controlled countries, ushering in initially the “era of socialism.”

At the end of the socialist era, terror and lies transformed into communist tyranny. When tanks rolled in and crushed any workers’ demonstrations against the regime, their power and control became absolute. At that point, communism converted into a campaign of terror waged against the people, with total disregard for moral and religious values and utter contempt for the cost in human life and individual freedoms. 

Nothing lasts forever, eventually all that is left is dust and rust. The men at the top who destroy so many lives and societies with their dangerous ideologies and power, are long gone by the time subsequent generations suffer the consequences of their actions.

 

 

 

Mandatory is the New Word of Compliance

‘Mandatory’ is an interesting word which has evolved from its intended use of “required by law or rules, compulsory.” It is misused and abused today to force people into compliance.

Under communist rule compliance was ‘mandatory.’  Most things in our lives were mandatory whether inscribed in law, mentioned as unwritten rules, and rules made up on the fly. Regardless of where the word ‘mandatory’ came from, you had to obey and follow the orders or else.

‘Mandatory’ was so abused and draconian that, just on the sight of an authority figure, teacher, administrator, boss, policeman, security police, military police, economic police, and border guards, people froze in their tracks and wondered what would happen to them if those people decided to address them or check their I.D.s.

You searched quickly in your mind for reasons that you may have violated the ‘mandatory’ whatever and where you will end up if they decided to arrest you. You did not have to commit a crime, they made one up. Mental prayers did not help because everybody cooperated with the police state for extra food and money, including most priests.

People were guilty until proven innocent in a communist court of law. It was ‘mandatory’ that the accused provided proof of innocence.

It was ‘mandatory’ to attend all communist rallies and marches. It was ‘mandatory’ to show up at the precinct and to vote for the one-party candidate.

After I fled to the U.S., the word ‘mandatory’ started to creep into our daily school environment. ‘Mandatory’ seemed innocuous at first, just another word, until I asked too many questions.

Then I learned that everything ‘mandatory’ was not remunerated. It magically became part of the job if I wanted to keep it.  

It was ‘mandatory’ to tutor students every week after school for no extra pay. It was ‘mandatory’ to work weekends for several hours to meet and greet parents, no extra pay.

It was ‘mandatory’ to ignore our own families on weekends and one week at night for two hours to tutor students who did not pay attention in class or who were too lazy to come during daily office hours. It was all ‘mandatory’ if you wanted to keep your job.

It was ‘mandatory’ to attend assemblies and speeches that violated our religious rights and the rights of the students. It was ‘mandatory’ not to wear crosses because it offended the Muslims. It was ‘mandatory’ not to display a small American flag on one’s desk because it offended others who were not Americans.

It was ‘mandatory’ not long ago to wear masks everywhere, even outdoors to protect the health of others around you, never mind that your health was not really protected.

It was ‘mandatory’ to get a dangerous vaccine if you wanted to keep your job, go to school, travel, have a medical procedure in a hospital, attend church, shop for food, fly, and go on vacation.

It is ‘mandatory’ not to criticize those in power while perusing social platforms and the Internet. There are many consequences if these ‘mandatory’ unwritten and arbitrary rules and “community standards” are violated.

Someone sitting in a basement making $16 an hour deems your actions, thoughts, opinions, and words hateful and offensive to the community’s health, a community suffering of many mental issues, drug use, immorality, and perversions. But you are the threat because you violated the nebulous ‘mandatory’ rules of community behavior.

It was ‘mandatory’ under communism to wear uniforms with numbers sewn onto the lapel in case you broke some ‘mandatory’ behavioral rules that the police state informers felt were violated.

Pretty much everything we do in a modern society has become ‘mandatory.’ You cannot attend college if you are not vaccinated – it is ‘mandatory.’ If you don’t comply, your life will never be the same, you become an outcast of society. The Democrat police state, their lapdog media, and on-line fact checkers control your every action, word, and thought.

The Democrat Party used to follow democratic principles, but it is now a communist police state obsessed with daily mandates, ‘mandatory’ this, ‘mandatory’ that.

The media is their platform of mandating. Fact checkers did not exist until the ruling Democrat police state started distorting and manufacturing the truth and pushing the one world government Marxist agenda.

Fact checkers are employed by the globalists who are running our world today. They are not elected to office but don’t need to be, politicians do their bidding because billionaires have a lot of money and influence. Drunk on narcissism because they have so much money and wealth, they truly believe that they know what is best for the rest of the world in every aspect of our lives. Everything they social engineer with their NGOs becomes ‘mandatory’ with help from beholden politicians.

 

 

Children Adapt but What a Worrisome Adaptation

Not long ago liberals were telling us that children were spending too much time in front of television screens, computer screens, and Play station games, that they need more outdoor time, interaction time with other children to build their social skills, that they need to learn to be good environmentalists and stewards of the world around them. Those blue screens were affecting their health, destroying their eyes, their vision, and the ability to socialize properly.

Suddenly, with the lockdown controls in place, schools are refusing to teach children in a classroom, they are switching to virtual teaching and communication which is counter to everything they had said previously. The new and worrisome normal is to keep your child 6-8 hours a day in front of a computer’s blue screen.

I suppose children no longer need fresh air, no longer need playtime, no longer need physical activity, they just have to stay indoors, preferably with their masks on, and if they do venture outside, they better wear a mask, even shields on top of these masks, properly set over their noses and mouths at all times.

Children, like the rest of us, have lost their identity as humans, have lost the ability to take their social cues from facial expression and learn in social interactions what various non-verbal communication through face and eyes represent.

Their hearing is getting worse as well. Adults did not realize how much they read lips in noisy environments if they want to hear what people say. Children are no different. It is just as frustrating to them as it is to adults.

Now the all-knowing socialist educators, who have been manipulating education for decades from their academic ivory towers and from the public classrooms, are trying to excuse this repugnant new reality as “children adapt” easily because they are so malleable. The question is, what are they adapting to? What does this faceless cowardly new world reality controlled by lockdowns represent? And is it good for humanity’s health? Is it good for our children and their future?

What better way to crush the human spirit and development than starting with children of all ages? What better way to destroy their future mentally, socially, and health-wise, leading potentially to untimely disease, suicide from social isolation, loneliness and despair, and eventual death? What better way to create easily controlled drones?

Mike Adams wrote that governments are “rolling out new, Orwellian medical fascism laws and edicts that set the precedent for mass arrests and forced relocation into quarantine camps for those who resist.”

Global vaccinations for the human-engineered pathogen did not take any convincing – after media-driven non-stop panic and fear, most humans were eager to be injected with an unproven and rushed vaccine no matter what the vaccine compliance costs might be.

Epoch Times reported that “a volunteer in AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine trial died in Brazil, the country’s health authority confirmed Wednesday.  Anvissa, the authority, said that it wouldn’t stop the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus vaccine trials for now and is investigating the death…”

Vaccine development and implementation for any disease is not without problems but the process usually takes years, and the final product is not rushed to the market.

Potential toxic substances, nanotechnology with “quantum dots,” and mRNA sequences which, according to Jon Rappaport, reprogram the body’s cells to produce protein sequences engineered into the mRNA vaccines, did not deter or give pause to billions clamoring for a Covid-vaccine now so they can return to their normal lives.

But globalists keep telling us through heavy and non-stop advertising that we now have a “new normal,” we cannot return to life as before, and we must listen to tech gurus and billionaires like Bill Gates as the ultimate authority in vaccines, everything human, and population survival at a vastly reduced rate and highly impoverished level because it is good for our collective planet. I am positive that logical and thinking Americans will not like the “new normal” so heavily touted on cable channels and by governments around the world.

The “new normal” will introduce reduced mobility and blackouts like the one experienced in Boston last night during the Trump/Biden third debate. Communists have ruled in many countries throughout the 20^th century using fear, intimidation, forced compliance, lack of water, lack of mobility, lack of electricity, severe food shortages, and substandard or non-existent medical care.

Even today, decades after communism “fell” in Eastern Europe, many rural areas, just miles from glittering cities with modern amenities and developments, the population and their children live in poverty, no paved roads, no medical care, primitive lifestyles, and lack of medical care and facilities.

And that is how billionaire globalists would like to keep it. No one else should achieve the development, progress, and standard of living that America had experienced, a development that has lifted and improved the lives of billions.

Environmentalists have told us that there are just too many of us and the planet suffers. To make it whole again, a few billions must disappear. It is unclear how, but it is easy to surmise – infertility, attrition, bad vaccines, dirty water, mass disease, wars, poor medical care, and even famine.

Dave Forman, founder of Earth First, said that “Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental.” But Kenneth Boulding, originator of the “Spaceship Earth” concept, had an even more outrageous idea. “The right to have children should be a marketable commodity, bought and traded by individuals but absolutely limited by the state.” (Both authors quoted in The Environmentalists’ Little Green Book, 2000)

The New Abnormal is Global Socialism

“Socialism is government force to control and change society.” – Paul B. Skousen

I have seen socialism creep in American education since 1979 when Jimmy Carter established the now massive bureaucracy called the Department of Education which became the blue print of socialist indoctrination in America. Through my experience first as a graduate student and then as a teacher in America, I also witnessed socialism advance in academia.

As a former citizen of a socialist republic for twenty years and after years of examining American society, I have seen in action most of the 46 goals of socialism as described by Paul B. Skousen in his book, The Naked Socialist.

Skousen’s highly accurate list describes the promotion of socialism and the U.N. as “the only hope for the world.” (#1 and #2)

As many Americans know, the U.N. and its many affiliates have managed to convince 178 countries to sign the U.N. Agenda 21 in 1992, later morphed into U.N. Agenda 2030, a document which controls every aspect of our economic and private lives through SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT and subservience to the whims of globalists, beginning with abolishing of private property and destroying the U.S., the last bastion that stands in its way.

The global green economy has been promoted for decades and the Democrat Party has officially forced it through the passing of its Green New Deal, which is neither green, nor new, nor a deal. It is a subjugation of the U.S. economy to the globalist U.N. Agenda 2030. (#4)

We saw the influence of the World Health Organization (WHO), a U.N. affiliate, and its false claims about Covid-19 which pretty much destroyed the robust U.S. economy and left millions unemployed, all for the common good.

Environmentalists and CDC doctors became controllers of everything we do as human beings and business owners. Everything was brought to its knees in a mere five months, including religion, education, and organized sports.

Liberals and the socialist Democrat Party have been advocating no borders and vilifying President Trump for securing the border. (#3)

One-world currency servicing the one world government is already being touted through the cashless society.  A fully cashless economy means EVERYTHING is digital, traceable, and controlled. (#5)

 No cash means, among many other nefarious elements of control:

-          No odd jobs to make an extra payment for your mortgage or car

-          No summer cash earned during school

-          No cash from grandma inside birthday cards and on holidays

-          No more piggy banks or savings for a special event/trip

-          No more rainy day fund

-          No more quick sale of that old bike or garage sales

-          No more hiring of teenagers to cut your lawn

-          No more collection for charity

Banks will have total control over every single penny you earn and it will be recorded electronically. If you misbehave or belong to a divergent thinking group, your electronic money will be unreachable until such a time that you have been scored socially adequate. Every movement will be recorded and traceable, no more off the grid economic activity. Every penny in your possession will be taxed and no more jobs under the table. There will be no more criminal and underground economic activity. (#27)

Somehow, during the Covid-19 lockdown, the nation is running out of change and stores are encouraging people to stop using cash. They say, money is dirty (it is literally and figuratively) and can easily spread disease. We seem to have managed fine since the invention of coins and paper money stashed in strange places circulated for millennia but suddenly they have become public enemy number one. (#5)

Control of the Internet and installing a thought police on social media has become a way to silence and censor conservative and libertarian points of view under the excuse that such thoughts violate “community standards.” Such obscure community standards include only leftist opinions. Facebook, Twitter, and Google do a pretty good job of policing opinions they dislike and wish to squash. (#6)

Mobs of violent protesters and rioters and the vagina-hat women’s marches screech about economic equality which strictly speaking is impossible. Equal pay is also impossible as we all have different levels of education, qualification, experience, work ethic, skill, willingness to do dangerous and unpleasant jobs, etc. We also have employment laws in place that bar job discrimination based on race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, culture, or disability. In line with U.N. Agenda 2030 recommendations, we have already seen many advances in regulating all transportation under the ruse of pollution limits, fuel efficiency, and preventing further damage to the environment. (#15) This also includes the nationalization of energy production under the excuse of equal access to natural resources. (#16)

The paid mobs of rioters/protesters are holding glossy and preprinted signs advocating the U.N. goal of private property elimination, of private land, of wealth, of suburbia living because it is socially unjust. People can only live well if all land is used for the “common good,” a key word for the communist collective. (#17)

Hollywood and the media have promoted for decades pornography, gender fluidity, and other promiscuous activities in order to destroy the family unit, marriage, and the Christian faith. (#18, #20, #21) Any degeneracy has been portrayed as “normal, natural, healthy.” (#19) Deviations from the two biological sex distinctions have mushroomed. (#22)

Using the environment as a ruse, socialist globalists have created a one world governing body (under United Nations) in order to control any economic activity and development as a SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT lynchpin goal.

The population has been forced into making “ecologically correct” choices – low-flush toilets, low-water washers, electric or hybrid cars, recycling, mandatory recyclable packaging, low-energy use appliances, CFL bulbs, solar panels, and rationed electricity access via controlled smart meters. Students are controlled through socialist, social justice written textbooks and revisionist history in schools and NGO-driven (non-profits) environmentalism synchronized with U.N. Agenda 21 17 sustainable development goals. (#37)

The media has done a spectacular job of advancing socialism into society by controlling information and misrepresenting reality through daily lies in non-ending indoctrination of the pliable masses and low information voters. The juvenile attacks and insults on the President Donald J. Trump are never-ending and based solely on lies. (#38)

Socialism has marched unimpeded and is now devolving into Marxism, aided and abetted by other sources and means:

-         Presenting work as optional by providing funds from government for economic stimulus spending, unemployment (caused by the same people issuing the “generous” help from taxpayer dollars or from baseless money printing), endless welfare, illness, retirement. (#40)

-         Ignoring the Constitution and brainwashing people that it is an old-fashioned document. (#41)

-         Present Founding Fathers and American heroes as exploiters who did not care for the downtrodden. (#42) Making heroes out of cowards who burn the American flag and loot and burn stores while ignoring the real heroes. Use mobs to destroy historical statues and replace them with Marxist symbolism.

-         Discredit American culture and history in schools; present the discoveries and inventions of white men as supremacist and racist; use Caucasian academics to teach that whites are successful because of a media-manufactured construct called “white privilege.” (#43)

-         Government regulations in education, welfare, mental health, social agencies, arts, media, hospital care, doctor care, pharmaceuticals in an attempt to control everything. (#44)

-         Overt installation of socialism, beginning with the socialists in Congress, schools, and academia. (#45)

-         Use chaos and panic driven by the media and a viral crisis (Covid-19) to deploy top-down government control around the world and restriction on personal rights and freedoms – where and how to shop, worship, walk, get food, see a doctor, and how long to wear an oxygen-reducing mask. (#46)

The new abnormal, heavily advertised and promoted by the Democrat Party and woke sycophants is a huge disaster unfolding. Socialism has been a tragedy, failing miserably in all the tyrannical Communist Party-ruled socialist republics, but, if you ask the average indoctrinated and well-fed American students, they think that socialism/communism are better alternatives to the “evil” capitalism. I know firsthand, it is a gross distortion of reality.

The Communist Control Face Mask

Four months into the corona manufactured pandemic, blue states are still enforcing draconian measures to wear masks everywhere in public for your own good lest be seen as a danger to society, public enemy number one, and to the well-being of those around you.

If your mask does not cover your nose properly, there are Karens nearby who let you know immediately that you are wearing your mask incorrectly or a barista with a sonorous voice who asks you to cover your nose. You are not allowed to say, I cannot breathe behind it for medical reasons, because that is a racist statement and cultural appropriation, and nobody cares about your well-being when it violates the collective good.

The mask has a different symbolism for those who lived under communism and yearned to escape to the freedom of the west before the Iron Curtain fell in 1989. A good example is the Russian skating couple, Oleg Protopopov, and his wife Ludmila Belousova, who defected to Switzerland in 1979 while on a tour from Soviet Union and became Swiss citizens in 1995.

Ludmila recounted how on their last skating routine in front of the Soviet communists before defecting to the west, she danced in a black costume representing death (of soul, of spirit, at the hands of the Communist Party), while Oleg wore a black mask, the pretense façade most citizens had to adopt in order to cover their real feelings and to survive the oppressive regime of the Communist Party. At the end of the routine, Oleg overcomes death (the Communists) and removes his mask, skating into the light (of freedom).

Personally, the Covid-19 mask has surpassed the utility of protecting us from a potentially harmful virus, it has become the mask that muzzles biting dogs. It is the mask we had to wear when we were forced into harvesting grapes for free every fall in high school when we had to wear masks that prevented hungry and thirsty students from eating any grapes.

Masks were used in other cultures to control and enslave people, to diminish, and demoralize them. Masks were and still are worn as a form of obedience.

President Donald Trump shared a tweet that argued that the mandated use of face masks represents a "culture of silence, slavery, and social death." 

Beyond the normal isolation of 14 days and quarantine (40 days) following the outbreak of an illness, liberty loving people resist the mask and see it as a form of communist indoctrination while the progressive/liberal segment of society is more than happy to comply and wear the masks indefinitely.

Conservatives see the blue states mandatory mask wearing as forcing compliance by legal means with fines, threat of, or actual loss of jobs, denied access to stores, restaurants, businesses, and medical doctors, dispensing “political medicine disguised as medical science.”

Leftist all-knowing and snitching Karens and their submissive husbands wear the mandatory masks with eagerness and arrogance because they virtue-signal how good they are. They want to make sure you know how respectable their character is and how morally virtuous and superior is their political correctness.

Masks were thought to prevent the Black Death, and ridiculous shapes of masks were designed and worn to ward off the bubonic plague.

Masks aren't about public health but social control," a conservative columnist tweeted, linking to a Federalist piece.

Molly McCann wrote, “To those looking to benefit politically from emergencies, COVID presents an opportunity to advance plans targeted to transform American freedom and the American way of life. But there is an important question, how long must a mask be worn? Will we have to wear them indefinitely, or every flu season? Will the necessity of mask-wearing disappear after the November elections? Will we have Covid-2020 and thus the masks will never go away?

And last, but not least important, what will happen to our immune systems that are no longer strengthened by exposing ourselves to viruses and bacteria around us? How weak will such sheltered immune systems become? Will we need to live in a bubble?

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) are located within a country’s national borders and their business and trade laws differ from the rest of the country. The explanation is that such zones include “increased trade, increased investment, job creation, and effective administration.” It is creating a mini-country within a country, independent of the sovereign laws of the land.

Joe McKinney wrote a blog on December 20, 2017, Rebuilding Puerto Rico, Tragedy Strikes, which described the financial and economic situation of Puerto Rico following the disastrous Hurricane Maria from September 2017, which had caused property damage estimated at over $100 billion and tremendous loss of life during and after the hurricane.

According to McKinney, Puerto Rico was destitute prior to the hurricane, due to its sovereign debt of $70 billion and unfunded pension liabilities exceeding $50 billion. The U.S. federal government’s $94.4 billion “care package” offset the hurricane damage. Acknowledging Puerto Rico’s “government lack of fiscal conservatism,” McKinney wrote how a $300 million contract with a Montana power company to restore the power grid fell through. He admits that “governance” is the main issue. “When rebuilding the economy, the problems of governance which originally caused it must be addressed.”

The Startup Societies Foundation (SSF) believes that “a green infrastructure must be built in Puerto Rico and the population must be made wealthier in knowledge, skill, and resources.” Humanitarian aid and financial help coming from U.S. taxpayers is expected.

Proposing to decentralize Puerto Rico, SSF suggests using special economic zones, eco-conscious societies, sea steading, and other means to control the island.

“Sea steading is a concept of creating permanent dwellings at sea, called sea steads, outside of the territory claimed by a government.” Proposed sea steads are modified cruising vessels, refitted oil platforms, decommissioned anti-aircraft platforms, and custom-built floating islands. https://www.seasteading.org/

“Eco-conscious societies” are environmentally friendly, nature-friendly, and green societies where sustainable development (SD), the lynch-pin of United Nations Agenda 2030, governs all decisions about human activity, services, laws, policies, and business activity, with reduced, minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment.

The immediate assessed needs for Puerto Rico were as follows:

1.      Electrical energy networks by turning to renewable energy sources.

2.      Infrastructure that will resist natural disasters.

3.      A stable, attractive business environment.

4.      Fiscal freedom from accrued debts, a.k.a. debt forgiveness.

According to SSF, “100 % green energy [possible by 2027] in the form of biomass, wave energy, and solar power remain untapped.” Immediate efforts to provide “communication should come by deploying temporary telecommunication balloons to establish basic telecom services such SMS and web browsing.” Puerto Rico could become a poster child of a “startup society.”

Through the powerful decentralization proposed by SSF, new property rights, new free markets, and new trade, “Startup societies will essentially be competing for patronage from citizens worldwide. On the list of SSF problems are urban sprawl and farms. “Urban ecosystems are parasitic upon nearby nature by definition and are thus a large detriment to the environment at large. Megacities, megalopolies, and their sprawling suburbs and farms are a problem in the transition to startup societies.”

SSF proposes the use of CO2-binding concrete, artificial photosynthesis, and vertical integration such as the laudable architectural high rises in Hong Kong, “using height to create solutions for societies.” “Vertical farming, padding external building walls in specially engineered pollutant-recycling moss, the third dimension is an oft-neglected aspect of environmental sustainability.”

Eco-villages and eco-tech startups will “reformat the current settlements large and small” by a “handful of strong-willed people who may shake people out of the stupor of modern urban life.”

According to SSF, startup societies may locate in disputed border territories, the wide-open sea, and even Antarctica. The chosen land must respect jurisdiction and follow U.N.’s Law of the Sea or the Antarctica Treaty. Then a status for the startup society must be created within the current legal framework of the current authority via sanctuary city or special economic zone. The current authority may be local, federal, individual (president), or a group (Chamber of Commerce). Lobbying and political maneuvering, persuasion through legal or fiscal means, will eventually help found a startup society.  “The essence of government is fluid. Quoting data from the United Nations, the SSF blog mentions that half of the richest 10 countries in the world (GDP per capita) are city states such as Liechtenstein, Monaco, and Luxemburg and are easier to manage. Startup Cities is eyeing Terra Australis, Antarctica, the southernmost continent, with 5.5 million square miles, driest and coldest, populated by 4,000 people in the summer and 1,000 in winter, appealing to the frontier spirit of Americans to establish the SSF vision of tomorrow. The only problem is, the dreamers of IT, financial technology, and other visionaries, do not have what it takes to be a frontier man or woman.

According to SSF, Chile, U.K., New Zealand, Australia, France, and Norway use certain areas of Antarctica for scientific research but cannot exercise territorial sovereignty over the borders per Antarctic Treaty System of the 1960s.

Russia and the U.S. have a “Deep Freeze” unclaimed area between New Zealand and Chile. Abandoned but maintained stations in this “unclaimed area” are utilized in the summer months. Startup Societies might use untapped opportunity to colonize this area. There is plenty of “powerful winds, extensive sunlight, and possible mineral deposits [which] may make energy a trifling matter, with the right technology.”

SSF is convinced that Startup Societies are the “future” through “competitive governance, secession, sea steading, decentralization, and e-government.”

Competitive governance is “decentralized experimentation driven by entrepreneurs and mobility of people and ideas, new structures that solve protracted social challenges peacefully.”

I was thinking about all the deserts on the planet with green oases and civilizations that had died years ago, and all the mirages generated from too much heat and hot air. Big Brother of Smarter Planet, Smarter Cities

Following a revelation in November 2008 that the planet is becoming smarter, “IBM began a conversation” about things that make the world work, cars, appliances, roadways, power grids, clothes, natural systems such as agriculture and waterways, and many other things that need to be mined and controlled through data and information systems.

“IBM is committed to a vision of Smarter Cities as a vital component of building a Smarter Planet. A Smarter City uses technology to transform its core systems and optimize finite resources. At the highest level of maturity, a Smarter City is a knowledge-based system that provides real-time insights to stakeholders as well as enabling decision-makers to manage the city’s subsystems proactively.”

“IBM Corporate Citizenship has launched the Smarter Cities Challenge to help 100 cities around the world become smarter through grants of IBM talent and technology.”

“The City of St. Louis is one of the 24 cities [U.S.] to earn a grant from IBM as part of that company’s philanthropic efforts to build a Smarter Planet. IBM’s Smarter Cities-Challenge aims to contribute to the improvement of high-potential cities around the world.”

The IBM 6-member team identified the “public safety ecosystem” as the communal reach and interaction of those participants in the public safety arena: mayor, board of aldermen, metro police, circuit attorney, clerk, judges, sheriff, corrections, probation, and parole, in essence controlling everything and everybody.

The specific report for St. Louis analyzed the causes of crime and made recommendations for public safety. Great detail and importance were given to “criminal justice” and its organizational structure, involving many governmental departments. Recommendations on how to deal with potential offenders included “cloud” and “data banking surveillance,” as well as “profiling.” In a global economy, IBM sees a co-operation between non-profits and government with the citizen being the subject of their control.
