Hippocrates and Modern Medicine's Hippocratic Oath

The old medical tradition goes back to 400 A.D. to the young Greek medic Hippocrates who established his practice in Cos. At that time sanatoriums existed which were dedicated to Aesculapius, the god of healing, and medical procedures involved praying to gods and various superstitions.

Hippocrates learned his trade from his father and expanded his knowledge by traveling to Egypt to learn their medical practices of the time which included novelties such as having a clinical observation chart/sheet of the patient, using white and clean linen for babies and patients, watching closely the nutrition of newborns and toddlers, exercise and play in fresh air.

Upon his return from Egypt, Hippocrates realized that Greek medicine had to be revised from the priestly medicine to a new medicine based on rigorous experience and proper rationalization. This new medicine would become the Hippocratic medicine.

The island of Cos (Kos)

The classical Hippocratic Oath stated that a future physician, swearing by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius the surgeon, Hygeia, and Panacea, and all the gods witnessing his oath, will engage in ethical treatment of patients, to his utmost power and judgment.

In healing the sick, the doctor would order the best diet for his patients, and made sure that they suffered “no hurt or damage.” The physician promised not to give poison to anyone, nor medicine to a pregnant woman, with “a view to destroy the child.” The doctor promised to behave and use his knowledge in a “godly manner,” referring to the gods listed above. The Hippocratic Oath: The Original and Revised Version - The Practo Blog for Doctors

At the young age of 22, Hippocrates established his medical school in Cos, based on the close relationship between theory and clinical practice, theory and experience obtained by taking care of the sick. The therapy side of medicine included hygiene, baths, physical exercise, diet, plant-based medicines, minerals, and animal-based cures. The Hippocratic medical school practiced medical investigations as well.

It was said that Hippocrates did not believe that diseases were connected to gods, but that they had an actual material reason, thus incantations and offerings to the gods were not helpful.

Hippocrates established the foundation of modern medicine during his 47 years of medical travels to care for both famous and ordinary patients. His fame and medical practices had spread around the world of antiquity and eventually made their way across the centuries into modern medicine.

After his death in 377 B.C., Hippocrates became the hero of many legends and medical traditions. Even in death, it is alleged that a tree by his tomb in Larissa had a bee hive which produced honey with an emollient effect on children’s skin problems.

Hippocrates left in his Corpus Hipocraticum, the combined 73 volumes of knowledge and experience of his practice, a trove of cultural, educational, philosophical, and scientific knowledge for centuries to follow. The Hippocratic writings were published in Alexandria, Egypt, a century after his death.

A Latin manuscript found in the National Library of Paris talked about Hippocrates and his discovery that Athenian black smiths who worked with fire and forges, did not get sick with the plague so he recommended “purification” of the city air. The text concluded that the grateful Athenians erected a statue to Hippocrates when the plague ended. However, Thucydides, who described at length the period of the Plague of Athens in the second year of the Peloponnesian war in 430 B.C., does not mention Hippocrates at all. Close to 100,000 people died from the plague which entered Greece through its city port of Piraeus.

The profound thinking of the genial doctor is expressed in one of his famous aphorisms with which he instructed his students, “Life is short and Art is long; opportunity is fleeting, experiment treacherous, and judgment difficult.”

Hippocrates was saying that a physician’s life is short when compared to the vast art [of medicine], art which depends on how quickly the doctor chooses the right moment to intervene, an art hindered by its two enemies, empiricism and dogmatism.

Fast forward to the twenty-first century and medicine appears to be preoccupied more with biopolitics and biopower exerted by the New World Order, more specifically transgenderism and transhumanism, instead of healing the sick and treating those suffering as has been the case in the twentieth century.

I was amazed in 1978 at the level of medical care Americans could receive, the potential for healing with modern medicines, tools, and surgical skills, and how caring and doting many physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals were when compared to the awful socialized medicine we had received under the socialist dictatorship of the communist party where I had fled from.

In 2023, after three years of Covid-19 lockdowns and other detrimental developments, we are way past Kafka’s “Metamorphosis” in which Gregor Samsa wakes up one morning and is transformed into a huge cockroach.

We humans of any age are suddenly a huge burden and a “plague on the planet” and our numbers must be culled to a billion as repeatedly uttered by globalists and eugenicists.

Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum fame said that “A systemic transformation of the world will lead us to a fusion of our physical, our digital, and our biological identities.”

Yuval Noah Harari, chief advisor to the World Economic Forum (WEF) explained that “We will use nanotechnology and a direct brain-computer interface to upgrade Homo Sapiens into beings who are much more different from us than we are from animals – into gods. We will replace natural selection with intelligent design—by us.” (AAPS News, Vol. 78, no. 12, December 2022)

Medical care has taken a huge hit during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, distrust and fear keeping many potential patients from seeking medical care for chronic conditions and sometimes emergencies.

Doctors and nurses feared their own death and it drove them to remake their clinics, pretending that they practiced care via tele-medicine. Some doctors, even foot doctors, became irrational and to this day, are still requiring their patients to wait in the parking lot until the office deems it safe to call the patients to come up one at a time. It is not a very efficient way to run an office as there is nobody else in the waiting room. Everyone is heavily masked, including the patients.

We saw the doctors who took the CDC hard line. They failed miserably their Hippocratic Oath and potentially harmed their patients by sending them home to a certain death in some cases, without any treatment until such time that ventilators became their final destiny and eventual death.

It seems that corporate America and especially universities are expanding into healthcare for profit in the march towards the Sovietization of America. Doctors spend more time updating their computer charts in the ten minutes they spend with each patient than they talk to patients, look him/her in the eyes, and touch their bodies.

The virtual medical appointments were generally a waste of time and resources for a percentage of patients. Some sick people stayed away from ERs for fear that they would be put on ventilators. Other people resented the masks and the constant Covid-19 testing and chose to stay home instead of having elective out-patient surgery or a direct visit with their doctor.

Hippocrates thought of means to heal his patients quicker, better, easier, and with the least amount of suffering. Modern medicine should seek the same.

In his “About the Proper Behavior,” Hippocrates wrote that medicine should be guided by simplicity, modesty, good reputation, sound and logical judgment, peace, caring, moral purity, knowledge of usefulness, and of life’s practices. Doctors should be of good moral character and with a largesse of the soul and mind.

Hippocrates wrote, “When there are more procedures, a doctor should choose the least showy. He, who is not trying to deceive the eyes of the ignorant through a false demonstration, is truly an honest man and a real doctor.”

Hippocrates stated that “honest doctors must give the patient the assurance that he/she is not abandoned. When the illness is serious, the doctor must neglect his own interest, applying the treatment even though he may risk getting nothing after the patient heals.” (On the Articulations, written in 400 B.C.)

Modern medicine does have honest doctors like Paul Marik, Robert Apter, and Mary Bowden who have sued the FDA, CDC, and the Health and Human Services (HHS) for interference with the doctors’ ability to treat Covid-19, more specifically the “FDA’s disparaging, misleading statements to many influential organizations about ivermectin.” Ivermectin could have saved lives, but the “FDA broke with both law and traditions by interfering with the practice of medicine, i.e. with the authority to prescribe drugs approved for human use for an ‘off label’ indication.” https://tinyurl.com/3y9x4ubd

The American Association of Physicians and Surgeons wrote in its amicus brief: “Defendant FDA has improperly exploited misunderstandings about the legality and prevalence of off-label uses of medications, in order to mislead courts, state medical boards, and the public into thinking there is anything improper about off-label prescribing.” https://tinyurl.com/28ukattt

“In ruling against patients seeking access to ivermectin to treat Covid-19, as recommended by their physicians, multiple courts have relied on the misinformation and improper interference by the FDA as a basis for denying access now.” https://tinyurl.com/28ukattt

Hippocrates would probably be shocked about most doctors today who ignored their Hippocratic oath and chose the path of least resistance to deal with the onslaught of Covid-19 patients who were sent home to recover on their own without treatment until such time that they were too far gone and went to the ER.

Pro Medica's Perennial Lockdowns

I got a phone call this morning from a young lady named Martina, reading a canned corporate script which made her sound like a recording, apologizing, and blaming a computer glitch for not contacting families whose loved ones are residents in the Pro Medica-owned nursing homes.

I picked up the phone and she was none too pleased when I interrupted her prepared and written speech with annoying but logical questions. This was the second call on behalf of the corporate office in Colorado since the lockdowns started on March 14, 2020.

She informed me that last week there were zero positive Covid tests among staff and residents, yet they must wait another week of zero [a worthless test deemed so by the CDC] before they may hear from the health department to release them from lockdown.

They are the only nursing home chain in Fairfax County that is keeping their residents prisoners under a false pretense when nobody has been sick with Covid-19 lately at this facility, only one or two staff and a resident were positive but asymptomatic, according to various staff members.

The staff is being forced to wear masks and shields and the residents wear masks, even those who live alone in their rooms and do not leave their rooms.

I explained to the young woman that I have just returned from Florida and few people were masked there, mostly tourists from New York and other liberal states. The locals were getting sunshine, vitamin D, and fresh salty air. Florida flu cases had dropped to one of the lowest levels in the country.

I asked Martina, since the flu season is starting as the cold fall and winter seasons are moving in, prime time for any type of flu, are they going to keep everyone locked down in perpetuity as it is impossible to keep the population at zero flu cases? Her answer was, of course not. However, she could not tell me what the company’s plans were. I asked her about the facility’s death statistics, and she told me that she did not have those numbers, only corporate does. Who exactly does have those numbers at corporate? Not surprisingly, she did not know.

Martina did say that they must wait on the health department of Virginia and the CDC guidelines before they can allow patients to be free again. All the other nursing homes have been allowing visitations for weeks now while Pro Medica is keeping their nursing home patients under draconian lockdown.

Criminals in prison are treated better and have more freedoms than these patients have. As I tried to argue my point, it was ignored, Martina was only interested in reading the prepared script to me in its totality and did not like to be interrupted.

The insanity of these controlling people with their manufactured pandemic is appalling. Zoo people in Tampa, Florida, are giving Covid-vaccine to skunks because this gain-of-function flu virus is found both in animals and humans.

Covid-19 will never be eradicated among humans like the polio was. The polio virus hosted only in humans, never in animals, it was therefore possible to eradicate it in most western countries.

Are cases of previously eradicated viruses like polio coming back? Perhaps from third world nations, whose citizens are now pouring through our non-existent southern border, individuals who are neither tested nor forced to be vaccinated against their will like American citizens are.

Flu viruses mutate constantly. That is why each year people get a flu shot with a concoction of what pharma thinks may or may not be effective this year, with a success rate of below 50 percent. Are people in nursing homes in the U.S. and elsewhere in places like Australia going to be locked down for the rest of their remaining lives?

Something does not compute when the same people who told us that the earth is overpopulated and we must be culled down to less than a billion, are now trying to save our lives with a vaccine.

Disable the Fear Campaign

“The lockdown policy was a deliberate intent to destabilize the global economy.” – Michel Chossudovsky, Ph.D.

In an interview with Taylor Hudak, Michel Chossudovsky, Ph.D., author, editor, and Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Ottawa, discussed the deceptions and economic disasters resulting from the global and deliberate government lockdowns intended for two weeks to flatten the curve from a flu virus. The U.S. government was the model which 193 governments, members of the United Nations, plus the Vatican (Holy See), around the world followed to stem the spread of a mysterious virus. Michel Chossudovsky Interview - Engineered Destabilization Of The Global Economy & The "Reimagining" (thelastamericanvagabond.com)

On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) through its director, Tedros, “declared a public health emergency of international concern.” At the time, there were 83 Covid-positive cases of flu worldwide. https://www.euro.who.int/en/health-topics/health-emergencies/international-health-regulations/news/news/2020/2/2019-ncov-outbreak-is-an-emergency-of-international-concern

By the time the WHO declared the pandemic, there were 1,078 cases of flu outside of China. Several hundred cases of that were on one ship, Diamond Princess. COVID-19 outbreak on the Diamond Princess cruise ship: estimating the epidemic potential and effectiveness of public health countermeasures - PubMed (nih.gov)

Air travel with China was stopped by President Trump, a move which snowballed into a ban around the world. Chossudovsky said that “most of the airlines in Latin America were bankrupted” and some in southeast Asia as the result of the Covid lockdowns.

Professor Chossudovsky spoke of the possibility of insider trading and the fact that the “killer virus” fear campaign coupled with Dr. Tedros’ timely “alerts” of the need to implement a worldwide pandemic, “indelibly served the interests of Wall Street speculators and hedge funds” managers.

Professor Chossudovsky explained that if one has “fore-knowledge” of a declared emergency such as a pandemic, it is impossible not to speculate on such “fore-knowledge.” There was a huge increase in wealth which was made on the day of the announcement. The stock market crashed following the announcement, redistributing the losses of ordinary people from their pension funds, mutual funds savings, and investments to the rich who profited greatly from the “fore-knowledge.”

But the virus did not trigger the stock market crash per se. It was the “fore-knowledge” and the massive speculation that led to the crash which eventually affected the real economy.

On March 11, 2020 Niel Ferguson and his team’s faulty model of casualties produced the study which was financed by the Gates Foundation and was used as a scientific foundation and justification for the lockdowns. His team’s computer modelling predicted half a million dead in the U.K. and 2.2 million in the U.S. Tedros announced the pandemic. Neil Ferguson's Coronavirus Imperial College Model -- ‘Professor Lockdown’ Resigns in Disgrace | National Review

Dr. Chossudovsky stated that on January 21--24, 2020, the World Economic Forum met in Davos, Switzerland, and Moderna representatives, business leaders and the WHO director Tedros were in attendance, discussing the mRNA vaccine before the public health emergency was declared. https://www.weforum.org/events/world-economic-forum-annual-meeting-2020

As soon as the U.S President accepted the predictions of the two Covid tsars brought in, people were locked down in their homes world-wide, following the U.S. example, could not work, the companies closed, the service economies were closed, and the global economy partially collapsed. It was all done to “save lives.”

There were about 44,000 cases on that date, not even close to a “killer virus,” it was more like a seasonal influenza, a public health concern for sure, but not a pandemic. “The lockdown was a closure of the global economy – a globalized bankruptcy program,” said Chossudovsky. “They closed down planet earth” for a “killer virus.”

The impact was devastating, an economic crisis of major proportions – small and middle-size companies were wiped out, bankruptcies of larger chain companies that have been around for decades, large airlines wiped out, shopping malls, travel industry destroyed, hotel industry, restaurant industry, mom and pop boutique stores, grocery stores, tourist industry in France, Italy destroyed – all was engineered, in his opinion so that the global economy would destabilize, resulting in concentration of financial power in a few billionaire hands. More negative outcomes:

-          Most of the airlines in Latin America were bankrupt

-          The airline fleet was mothballed in the desert

-          Food and other staples were hard to find

-          Farmers dumped their produce - being unable to service grocery stores, school cafeterias, and restaurants

-          People lost their jobs and homes

-          Mental health was terribly affected for all ages

-          Marriages broke up and domestic violence escalated

-          Schools were closed

-          Children were forced to wear face masks in schools eight hours a day by their dictatorial teachers who took their masks off periodically to breathe

-          Small and middle-sized businesses were closed for good while liquor stores and marijuana “medical” stores were deemed essential and stayed open

-          Mom and pop grocery stores and hardware stores were closed while huge chains remained open

-          Hotels and restaurants closed permanently

-          Beauty shops were forced to close

-          Gyms and pools were closed

-          Parks and vast state and national forests were closed to human access

-          Humans lost their faces and their identities behind a suffocating mask

-          The fear of contagion drummed up by constant public announcements and media driven panic created a sick phobia among a large swath of the population akin to a severe and incurable mental illness

Economically speaking, the billionaires will buy out the bankrupt assets for pennies on the dollar, will buy up agricultural land, small and medium-sized farms, shopping malls, and other financial assets of the now bankrupt owners, victims of the forced lockdown. Some assets were bought at ‘negative prices,’ Chossudovsky stated. “The acquisition of real assets” and control of the destabilized economies were the ultimate goals of the lockdowns.

The increase in wealth accumulation during the lockdown period is documented by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) in Washington, D.C., a progressive organization. Highlights include:

-          Among the nation’s 657 billionaire, wealth increased $1.3 trillion since the Covid lockdowns

-          80 million Americans lost work between March 21, 2020-March 21, 2021

-          18 million Americans are collecting unemployment

-          There are 43 newly minted billionaires since the lockdowns (i.e., Airbnb, Door Dash, Snowflake), added to the 614 existing ones

-          Combined wealth increase of the 15 billionaires with the greatest growth in absolute wealth was $563 billion or 82%

-          Topping the chart were Elon Musk ($137.5 billion richer, Jeff Bezos ($65 billion richer), and Mark Zuckerberg ($47 billion richer).  A Year of Billionaire Pandemic Gains - Institute for Policy Studies (ips-dc.org)

Across the world, in the remittance economy of India, farmers come to cities to earn money in street commerce, they do not have homes, and they live outdoors. The government decided to send these people back to their villages during the lockdown, but they had no money to buy transportation, they walked, and some died on their journey back. “This is genocide,” the professor added, “transition from poverty to despair, to mortality.” Their death certificates could have read death from Covid-19. Some countries have changed the criteria of death without doing an autopsy because they were too expensive and too few hospitals were authorized by law to do autopsies on Covid-19 patients.

As deaths from Covid-19 escalated on official reports and in the media, deaths from flu and other diseases all but disappeared. The reported death toll from Covid-19 is “an element of the fear campaign,” Dr. Chossudovsky added, and it has been done all over the planet. “The data is questionable, and the PCR test is invalid.”

The massive human invasion on our southern border by illegals, who wear no masks, do not practice social distancing, and are not “vaccinated,” is not subjected to the lockdowns that Americans have had to endure. Illegals are released on their own recognizance into the American population – the next Democrat voters and pew fillers in churches who sponsor them once here. The unaccompanied minors are flown by our government to southeastern towns in the cover of night and resettled quietly among the American population. The largely male group of unaccompanied “minors” become potential recruits in the violent MS-13 gang in the U.S.

None of the above could have been possible without the massive fear campaign to which Americans and the rest of the world were subjected to non-stop by the mainstream media, the Covid-19 medical czars, and the compliant medical professionals.  Disable the fear campaign, the briberies, threats of more lockdowns, and the pressure to “vaccinate” immediately in exchange for the freedom to exist and do what you did before the lockdowns, and the countries and their economies may begin to heal and rebound despite what Michel Chossudovski calls the “engineered destabilization of the global economy.”

Encourage people to go back to school and work and disincentivize extended unemployment and endless stimulus checks when so many jobs are available and there are no takers because welfare is more generous.

Covid-19 Nursing Homes Neglect

My mom’s mental and physical health has deteriorated enormously in the last four months of the forced lockdown in her nursing home. They were kept isolated and bed-ridden without the benefit of any exercise or even wheelchair self-strolling.

The staff lost her dentures for the seventh time in four years and a trip to the dentist did not help as her jaw muscles were too weak to bite down to make imprints for new dentures.  Leg muscles, and most muscles in general have atrophied from lack of movement.

By order of the Virginia Health Department, they shuffled the elderly from the rooms they knew into unknown rooms previously occupied by other patients sick with the flu.

The entire move was done in one day, hardly enough time to sterilize the rooms properly. They hurriedly threw some of their belongings in plastic bags and put them on the floor in the new rooms with a roommate.

The single occupancy rooms were dedicated to Covid-19 patients’ isolation. Of the 101 residents, 76 tested positive for Covid-19 and 26 did not. Most who tested positive were asymptomatic.
Mom was tested twice for Covid-19 and came up negative both times. But she got pneumonia from the flu even though she had a mandatory flu shot. Thankfully, she recovered, her second bout with pneumonia in three years.

Eventually eight people died of underlying multiple illnesses but were marked as Covid-19. One man was 100 years old. In the best of times, caretakes and underpaid careless facility cleaners carry bacteria and viruses from room to room.

Recently, the nursing home resumed admission of new patients, but former residents are still in lockdown and families are not allowed to see them.

Among the many sad lessons, I learned from this flu epidemic called a “pandemic,” was how poorly and inhumanely the elderly were treated in nursing homes.

Jon Rappaport called the Covid-19 the “nursing home disaster.” He wrote that it was “mass murder by cruelty,” and by painful physical isolation, lack of mental stimulation, and loneliness. He added that “The excess mortality of 2020 is largely the result of elderly people dying in nursing homes.”

He explained, “it has nothing to do with a virus, it has to do with patients who are already on a long downward health slide---then hit with the terror of an arbitrary and fake Covid-19 diagnosis, and then isolated and shut off from family and friends---in facilities where gross neglect and indifference are all too often the ‘standard of care.’”

I can certainly attest to the neglect and slowly delivered care despite my weekly insistence. Under the best of times, mom was neglected. Now I cannot have access to her at all, I have no idea of her level of care. There are some good nurses who care about their patients but most of them do not stay long, replaced by foreign caretakers who do not relate to our standards of medicine.

It is easy to overcome nursing home patients with terror and isolation. When I asked to take mom outside for a stroll for fresh air and sunshine, even wearing gloves and a mask, I was told that she would have to be put in isolation for 14 days if I did that. But if she would go out into the world for a doctor’s visit, that would be approved.

And the elderly locked down at home, scared to death by the non-stop media COVID-19 panic, died alone and isolated, afraid to call 911 for help. Those who did go to the hospital, were intubated immediately with breathing ventilators, heavily sedated with several drugs, never came out of sedation to breathe on their own again and died.

Forbes reported on May 22, that in 43 states, “42% of all COVID-19 deaths have taken place in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.” The excess mortality allegedly came from nursing homes and the use of ventilators in hospitals. https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2020/05/26/nursing-homes-assisted-living-facilities-0-6-of-the-u-s-population-43-of-u-s-covid-19-deaths/#46e33a6074cd

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) looked at charts of 5,700 patients with Coronavirus infections who were hospitalized in 12 hospitals in New York City and the patients’ outcome based on age, sex, and co-morbidities. The mortality rate on ventilators was 88.1 percent.  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32320003/

The Communist Control Face Mask

Oleg and Ludmila Protopopov
Wikipedia photo
Four months into the corona manufactured pandemic, blue states are still enforcing draconian measures to wear masks everywhere in public for your own good lest be seen as a danger to society, public enemy number one, and to the well-being of those around you.

If your mask does not cover your nose properly, there are Karens nearby who let you know immediately that you are wearing your mask incorrectly or a barista with a sonorous voice who asks you to cover your nose. You are not allowed to say, I cannot breathe behind it for medical reasons, because that is a racist statement and cultural appropriation, and nobody cares about your well-being when it violates the collective good.

The mask has a different symbolism for those who lived under communism and yearned to escape to the freedom of the west before the Iron Curtain fell in 1989. A good example is the Russian skating couple, Oleg Protopopov, and his wife Ludmila Belousova, who defected to Switzerland in 1979 while on a tour from Soviet Union and became Swiss citizens in 1995.

Ludmila recounted how on their last skating routine in front of the Soviet communists before defecting to the west, she danced in a black costume representing death (of soul, of spirit, at the hands of the Communist Party), while Oleg wore a black mask, the pretense façade most citizens had to adopt in order to cover their real feelings and to survive the oppressive regime of the Communist Party. At the end of the routine, Oleg overcomes death (the Communists) and removes his mask, skating into the light (of freedom).

Personally, the Covid-19 mask has surpassed the utility of protecting us from a potentially harmful virus, it has become the mask that muzzles biting dogs. It is the mask we had to wear when we were forced into harvesting grapes for free every fall in high school when we had to wear masks that prevented hungry and thirsty students from eating any grapes.

Masks were used in other cultures to control and enslave people, to diminish, and demoralize them. Masks were and still are worn as a form of obedience.

President Donald Trump shared a tweet that argued that the mandated use of face masks represents a "culture of silence, slavery, and social death."

Beyond the normal isolation of 14 days and quarantine (40 days) following the outbreak of an illness, liberty loving people resist the mask and see it as a form of communist indoctrination while the progressive/liberal segment of society is more than happy to comply and wear the masks indefinitely.
Conservatives see the blue states mandatory mask wearing as forcing compliance by legal means with fines, threat of, or actual loss of jobs, denied access to stores, restaurants, businesses, and medical doctors, dispensing “political medicine disguised as medical science.”

Leftist all-knowing and snitching Karens and their submissive husbands wear the mandatory masks with eagerness and arrogance because they virtue-signal how good they are. They want to make sure you know how respectable their character is and how morally virtuous and superior is their political correctness.

Masks were thought to prevent the Black Death, and ridiculous shapes of masks were designed and worn to ward off the bubonic plague.

Masks aren't about public health but social control," a conservative columnist tweeted, linking to a Federalist piece.

Molly McCann wrote, “To those looking to benefit politically from emergencies, COVID presents an opportunity to advance plans targeted to transform American freedom and the American way of life. Mandatory-masking policies provide a valuable foundation to weaponize the virus against American liberty—now and in the future. https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/27/mandatory-masks-arent-about-safety-theyre-about-social-control/

But there is an important question, how long must a mask be worn? Will we have to wear them indefinitely, or every flu season? Will the necessity of mask-wearing disappear after the November elections? Will we have Covid-2020 and thus the masks will never go away?

And last, but not least important, what will happen to our immune systems that are no longer strengthened by exposing ourselves to viruses and bacteria around us? How weak will such sheltered immune systems become? Will we need to live in a bubble?

The Face Maskers in the Midst

The Ship of Fools - woodcut
I have spent a lot of time since early March in the woods, in the company of birds, geese, a wild rabbit, a fox visiting my yard daily, squirrels, a racoon, five deer who enjoy the grass in our back yard at dusk, one coyote, wasps, bumblebees, a majestic eagle, a water snake, the river, flowers, grasses, two ospreys, and a lot of mud.

The daily trips to the woods saved my sanity when everything around me turned irrational and abnormal, “socially distancing” from other humans as if they had the bubonic plague, the “new normal” as the Democrat leaders turned Stalinists and their lackey main stream media have been telling us non-stop for twelve weeks now.

Insane lefties took up the crusade of forcing everyone to wear face masks outside, in the woods, in state parks, in the house, in stores, while jogging, biking, in grocery stores, and in their own cars when they were driving alone.

A fashion industry has quickly popped up with useless face masks of various shapes, sizes, thickness, colors, and messages that fit the submissive and scared to death personality of the wearer. One famous individual expressed herself with a crocheted mask with holes.

We must wear a face mask at the bank, coupled with seeing eyeglasses, and it seems that it is now legal to do so. Who would have thought that looking like a robber would be acceptable and necessary in a bank, but here we are.

I used to walk across a fishing pier where two ospreys were nesting. I enjoyed photographing them while the male was bringing his mate fish in his beak. But the governor closed the pier and the occasional 5-6 fishermen had to move alongside the river’s edge, clustered together under the railroad bridge. How else could they tell each other tall fishing tales and drink beer? Humans are social creatures and need other people to remain sane and healthy. And the catfish and snakeheads fed their families. Thanks to the governor’s crazy policies, the fishermen are now unemployed and unable to provide for their loved ones.

The governor left state parks open but closed the bathroom facilities – too much to clean properly, the ranger explained one day. But they brought in unsightly port-o-potties which had no hand sanitizer and were sprayed by a park employee with Lysol spray. Who can argue with the logic of a governor, who is a doctor, that a port-o-potty with exposed fecal matter and urine is cleaner than a restroom?

People could stand on the river’s sandy beach and fish or exercise, but nobody could sit in a chair or on the sand – it must be crawling with Covid-19 viruses. How in the world have we ever survived so far on thousands of crowded beaches around the world without social isolation or physical distancing! How lucky we were! It is a “miracle” that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Brix saved us on time. It was worth every penny of the six trillion dollars in debt and the millions of permanently unemployed.

Arbitrary rules of physical distancing euphemistically called “social distancing” were established, a form of social isolation which varied across the globe, from 3-6 ft, even though a cough or a sneeze can travel much farther, 18-24 ft.

Then the leftist and regressive population, whose agenda was never about liberty of any kind, started to turn into the Gestapo, vociferously shaming anybody who dared to show up without a face mask - How dare you endanger my fragile health? Go home and hide under a rock! Worse yet, the left turned into the Stasi Karen(s) and called the police on face mask violators.

And the police, being the vigilant defenders and protectors of the law that they are, started arresting parents playing with their children, church goers, partiers in private homes, restaurant patrons who violated totalitarian lockdown orders, towed their cars, fined citizens for daring to open up businesses, and for eating inside restaurants or bars.

People became so conditioned that, while walking in the woods to get fresh air, they wore masks alone and with their spouses and children. Shrill women were shouting twelve feet away from other humans, “stay away from me,” as if they were aliens in the invasion of the body snatchers.

Irrational and panicked, these individuals have lost whatever sanity they have ever had. I can now fully understand how the lynching of innocents happened when crowds reached a frenzy of hatred towards helpless humans exercising their right to exist.

People now cross the street to avoid each other and make no eye contact or attempt at any human interaction. We have become invisible to each other, “contactless” humans.

A park employee was collecting parking fees one day using a fishing net with a long handle. The drivers had to put their money in, and the attendant retrieved the said cash from the net following the “contactless” dictates of the non-stop PSAs.

“Contactless,” “safe,” “stay safe,” “safe distancing,” “together alone” (an oxymoron), “new normal” became the indoctrinating phrase of the new generation of supine and scared humans who would rather exchange their freedom for temporary “safety.”

The extreme cowardice and almost overnight submission to totalitarianism without a whimper or logical argument and questioning were painful to watch.

Nursing Home Pandemonium

My dear mother whom we love and cherish is locked up in a prison not of her own making, in pain and suffering, on oxygen and not understanding why she cannot come out of her room.

Her prison is tightly monitored by staff who were unable to stop the spread of the Covid-virus. Formerly free of it, she was moved from her private nursing home room to a semi-private room, in the very same bed and room just vacated by patient Marlene (not her real name) who was Covid-positive and sick.

Marlene had been moved with the other 75 Covid-positive patients the very same day that my Covid-negative mom was moved into her bed before the room was thoroughly sanitized. To say that the move was irresponsible, it is an understatement. Nobody from the nursing home bothered to call us and let us know of her status or their plans to move her.

After the fact, a corporate marketing guy from Colorado, not a caretaker or a doctor, called us first to let us know that she was Covid-negative, and a second time to tell us that she was moved from her room.  We made numerous phone calls to the nursing home, but they remained unanswered.

Communication and information from the nursing home has been almost non-existent. The phone rang unanswered and all voicemail calls and questions we left remained unreturned as well. Mom was locked tighter than prison. Wheeling her out of her room to a glassed lobby through which we could have visited for five minutes happened only once.

As some patients went home for brief visits and came back carrying the Covid-virus, the movement of patients even within the nursing facility stopped. The residents became prisoners in their own rooms and the virus spread. Eighteen patients alone in the Arcadia section were sick with the virus. Four staff were Covid-positive as well, a total of 21 as of two weeks ago, as admitted by administration. This prompted the Health Department of Virginia to come and test everyone last Friday, May 15.

Residents have died but the true cause and statistics were not known to the public or to the patients’ families.

The “corporate people” (as one nursing home employee put it) came last week and must have ordered, possibly per Health Department of Virginia instructions, the grouping of positive patients with other positive ones (75) and the negative patients with the rest of the negative ones (26).

Was it wise to move the 26 negative patients into rooms vacated by positive Covid-patients? I am not sure what the intent was with this move, but I know that mom came down with pneumonia three days after being moved from her room. Coincidence? I do not believe in coincidences; I believe in cause and effect.

The emergent evidence of the “plan-demic” has shown that the worst attributes of small-minded people drunk on their own power and control, were magnified, and have robbed the U.S. population of their Constitutional freedoms under the guise of protecting them.

Euphemistic terms such “social distancing” should be called what they are, “isolation,” there is nothing social about hiding in your own home, behind a mask, or snitching on your neighbors and businesses that may not follow the lockdown dictates.

The elites videotaping themselves in their mansions to prove that “we are in this together” is so hypocritical to most who have lost their jobs permanently, their businesses, and may or may not have enough savings to feed their families and pay their bills while millionaires are well set in their banks and trust funds.

“Be safe,” and other phraseology invented for the benefit of robbing us of freedom of movement, assembly, right to make a living, and freedom of religion, should have been really called what they are, forced imprisonment into our homes and servitude to dangerous vaccines produced in a hurry, chip implantation, and personal control through data.

Many people were not safe in their homes just as the 101 nursing home residents in northern Virginia were not safe in their lockdown, most of them were positive and many symptomatic.

For the “greater good” is offensive. No good can ever come out when the government chooses who is “essential” and who is “non-essential” to society and to the economy. Nazi Germany picked winners and losers and it did not end well for the Jewish people.

The “new normal” is offensive too. There is nothing normal about anything that has happened to us in the last ten weeks and is still happening.

Egomaniacs and megalomaniacs with a Messianic complex have crawled into the limelight, mostly Democrats at local and state levels, placing healthy people in quarantine as well as sick ones far beyond the normal 40 days, prompting many Americans to demonstrate against insane executive orders and to demand that their churches, schools, small businesses, and doctors’ offices be open after ten weeks of lockdown in various states.

Sound reasoning, proper science and medicine were the last employed in the decision-making process of government in many countries that followed the U.S. lead and example. Sweden who allowed herd immunity to take its normal flu toll has not been any worse off in the number of patients infected and the number of those who have died.

Instead of locking down healthy people, we should have protected the most vulnerable, the elderly in the nursing homes. Instead, we have exposed them unnecessarily and thoughtlessly because they have few lobbyists and champions who defend their rights.

Stop waiting for a new vaccine. Flu vaccines are only partially effective as the viruses mutate. Even Bill Gates admitted, “The efficacy of vaccines in older people is always a huge challenge, it turns out the flu vaccine isn’t that effective in elderly people. And that actual decision of, ok, let’s go and give this vaccine to the entire world, governments will have to be involved because there will be some risk and indemnification needed.”

Update on my mom: She is now free of oxygen and feeling better. The drug cocktail is working and she now breathes on her own,  97% oxygen saturation. I am really happy; yesterday she told me she was hungry.

It is unforgivable that the nursing home moved her from a private room where she was Covid-negative, into an infected room previously occupied by a Covid-positive patient who was sick. And the room was never properly sanitized.

Mr. President, Can We Return to 'Made in America' Again?

On March 9, 2020, I flew back to D.C. The flight was more than half empty which was quite unusual – all flights to D.C. have been running at full capacity prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now remaining flights are almost empty with demand down in some cases by 96 percent.

A month later I wrote an article asking President Trump to open up the economy as it became more evident that the supply and delivery chains have been severely disrupted by the draconian quarantine-driven lockdowns of individual Democrat states, lockdowns which are yet to be lifted partially or fully. This resulted in closing small American businesses, the bread and butter of our economy. https://canadafreepress.com/article/open-up-the-u.s.-economy-as-soon-as-possible

Usually a quarantine is established to separate sick people from the healthy and, as the word says, it is meant for 40 days. But the state governors have decided to lock down healthy people, beyond the 40 days, with plans of more in-home confinement, robbing them of their freedom of assembly, religion, speech, and freedom of movement.

With 30 millions out of work and fudged death numbers from Covid-19, the hysteria has built up to the point where people are afraid to even get out of their homes without a mask, much less go to work.

Unemployment checks, ginned up fear and panic, bailouts, and forced government closures of businesses based on random decisions of “essential vs. non-essential” have further exacerbated the problem of returning to work. Social interaction has become evil in less than two months of constant government PSAs on TV, radio, print media, and grocery stores.

Salesmen in America used to travel around the country to small towns USA in the 70s-80s and found every little town with a town square with stores and factories around the town where people would be employed. Those factories sit empty now, victims of the production exodus to the Communist China or the buildings have been razed to make room for some other development. In light of the Covid-19 manufactured crisis which is destroying the world’s economy, the obvious question must be asked, why can we not build things in America again?

There are many products in short supply right now but freezers, upright and chest type, are something that we never thought would be hard to find. One store offered to order a freezer but it would not arrive earlier than June and, if things do not improve, it may be August or later.

A local owner of a furniture appliance store said that “there are no freezers, there is a national shortage.” An order could be placed but the supplier suggested the earliest tentative arrival as the end of May or June.

Then the  owner launched into a discussion about what is going on in this country and how wrong this shutdown is. He said, that if the mayor had told him that he had to close his shop (a business he has built over decades), he would have gone to jail rather than close his store. He was of the opinion that shutting down the country and businesses is completely ludicrous.  He also added that most who come into their store ask if the appliances are made in America.

In a 2015 Consumer Report recommendations for best freezers, about half of them were made at the time in the U.S. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/05/best-american-made-appliances/index.htm?EXTKEY=NW0N01506

In a 2019 interview, Marc Blumenthal said that “an Amana chest freezer and a Maytag upright freezer are made in Ottawa, Ohio. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2015/06/ohio-built_appliances_are_among_the_best_made_in_america_consumer_reports_says.html

Should we as consumers put pressure on suppliers and store owners to have more made in America products and parts? Is it right to export most of our manufacturing to an inimical country, one ruled by the Communist Party at that, when it is not in our best interest?

If you can’t find a freezer right now and you wish to purchase one, perhaps you should join a grassroots campaign to bring back more manufacturing to America under American ownership.

There are many former manufacturing hubs around the country where factories are sitting empty. Can't Americans who have the know-how re-purpose old factories? President Trump has certainly advocated so for a long time. America needs to manufacture its own products, especially key industries for our nation’s security such as defense, steel, medical equipment, computers, pharmaceuticals, meat packing, vitamins, appliances, and other essentials for our food supply.

These are unintended consequence of a Chinese produced Covid-19 crisis. We have allowed China to control manufacturing in the U.S. of formerly Made in America products. For a list of products still made in America check here and the reference list at the bottom of this article. www.americanmanufacturing.org

In order to return manufacturing to the U.S., we must train a better skilled workforce. Not everybody needs to go to college to get an unmarketable degree in social and racial justice for which there are so few jobs. It is noteworthy that you prefer justice to rule the world but can you feed and shelter your family with a worthless college degree? Many technical and manufacturing jobs pay so much better and you don’t have to spend your parents’ life savings on expensive college tuition. And there is always huge satisfaction at the end of the day for a skilled job well done.

Collecting Parking Fees in Virginia's State Park

This is how parking fees were collected in Leesylvania State Park on April 15, 2020 by order of Governor Northam of Virginia, the most draconian Covid-compliant state. As a socialist dictator, Northam will not open businesses in Virginia until June 10, 2020, the last state in the union to do so.
