History Forgotten, the Armenian Genocide and the Assyrians Today

“Around the world, Christians are facing violence, persecution, brutality in a way we have not seen in generations.”  – Rey Flores, “The Wanderer”

The leftist charlatans with their fake “war on women” movement are deafly silent in the face of a real genocide, the deliberate and brutal torture and killings of Christian men and women.  Yazidi women and girls are kidnapped, raped, and driven into a life of slavery to ISIS as forced converts to Islam.
A small army of resistance is fighting the scourge of ISIS, in a valiant attempt to save what is left of their Assyrian tribes and of their women.  ISIS is bent on eradicating them, their religion, their ancient culture, and any archeological remnant of their history. Their churches are destroyed while ancient artifacts and monuments are blown up. Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II said that “forced displacement on the basis of religious beliefs, be it Islam or Christianity, is a crime against humanity,” referring to the war crimes inflicted upon his people by ISIS in Mosul. http://unitedassyrianappeal.org/

Pope Francis spoke in 2014 about the Armenian genocide during Mass in the Armenian Catholic rite at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.  Church leaders and the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan were in attendance. He spoke about humanity witnessing “three massive and unprecedented tragedies” in the 20th century.  “The first, which is widely considered, ‘the first genocide of the 20th century,’ struck your own Armenian people,” he said. The Nazi Holocaust and Stalin’s mass killings were followed by other genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Burundi, and Bosnia.

In 2015 Pope Francis mentioned three “massive and unprecedented tragedies” of the last century, the “Great Crime,” the methodical genocide of Armenian Christians who “were killed because of their faith,” and the “atrocities of the Nazis and of the communists, along with other mass killings…” http://en.radiovaticana.va/news/2015/04/12/pope_focuses_on_divine_mercy_in_mass_for_armenians/1136249

As Christians, it is our duty and responsibility to keep alive the memories of those killed, the Pope said. “Concealing or denying evil is like allowing a wound to keep bleeding without bandaging it,” Pope Francis continued.

BBC News reported on April 12, 2015 that Turkey was angry with Pope Francis’ description of the mass killings of Armenians under Ottoman rule in WWI as “genocide.”  Turkey plays down the genocide as smaller numbers of deaths resulting from the WWI clashes in which ethnic Turks have also suffered.

Most Western scholars regard the 1.5 million Armenians civilians, who were deliberately deported between 1915-1916 to desert regions where they succumbed to starvation and thirst, as genocide. Countries like Belgium, Canada, Argentina, France, Italy, Russia, and Uruguay recognize the mass killings of Armenians as genocide. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32272604

For the first time, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered condolences in 2014 to the grandchildren of the Armenians who were massacred in 1915. This year marks a century since the atrocities were committed, and, until all countries recognize that the genocide had occurred, it is an incomplete mourning exacerbated by denial stories to this day. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/23/turkey-erdogan-condolences-armenian-massacre

Why were Armenians massacred by the Turks? To understand the reason, you must understand who the Armenians were, how, and why they lived under the Ottoman Empire, and their status as non-Muslims, “non-believers,” and second-class citizens.
Armenians are ancient people who lived in Anatolia some 2500 years ago. They had their own distinctive alphabet and culture. There are 6 to 7 million Armenians today, half living in the Republic of Armenia, while the rest are scattered in the U.S., Russia, France, Lebanon, and Syria.

In the year 301 A.D., the King of Armenia was the first ruler to adopt Christianity as the official state religion, even before the Roman Emperor Constantine’s conversion to Christianity. Captured by the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century, Armenia was absorbed into the Islamic Ottoman Empire, along with a large swath of European lands. As subject of the Sultan, Armenians had less freedom, had to pay higher taxes, were discriminated against, and were not allowed to serve in the military.

Unhappy with the second-class citizen status, by the end of the 1800s, Armenians demanded equality. In the 1890s the Bloody Sultan who was presiding over a weak government, used massacres as a way to maintain law and order.  In 1894-1896 200,000 Armenians were killed during the Hamidian massacres under the rule of Abdul Hamid II, a foreshadowing of what was to come in 1915. http://www.armenian-genocide.org/hamidian.html

When the Young Turks forced the Sultan out in 1908, Armenians were allowed to serve in the military. In 1912-1913 the Christian regions of Greece, Serbia, and Bulgaria gained their independence from the Ottoman Empire.

According to Vahaken Dadrian, Director of the Genocidal Research at Zoryan Institute, as quoted on a film aired on PBS, http://asbarez.com/133128/acclaimed-armenian-genocide-documentary-to-air-on-pbs/

“For the first time in recent history, the glorious Ottoman army suffered a major military defeat at the hands of their former subject-nations, Greeks, Bulgarians, and Serbs,” losing in two weeks 75 percent of their former European territories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vahakn_Dadrian
The despair borne by such a loss in the Balkans gave rise to a deep hatred against Christians, inflamed by Ottoman refugees’ stories, refugees thrown out of Christian lands, turning angry Turks against their indigenous Christian population, the Armenians – “Revenge, revenge, revenge, there is no other word.”

Ambassador Henry Morgenthau published in 1918 his personal account of the Armenian genocide. Chapter 24, The Murder of a Nation, describes in grizzly detail how Armenian men, who were formerly soldiers and cavalrymen in the Turkish army, were stripped of their arms and transformed into road workers and “pack animals.” Carrying heavy loads onto their backs, these men were whipped and bayonetted by the Turks into the Caucasus Mountains, sometimes waist-deep through snow.

“They had to spend practically all their time in the open, sleeping on the bare ground. … They were given only scraps of food; if they fell sick they were left where they had dropped,” while the Turks robbed them of their possessions and their clothes. “Squads of 50-100 men were taken in groups of four, marched to a secluded spot a short distance from the village,” they were stripped naked and shot, having been forced to dig their own graves.

Morgenthau described the fate of an entire Armenian regiment sent to Diarbekir. Agents notified Kurdish tribesmen to attack and kill these weak and starved soldiers “that they might gain that merit in Allah’s eyes that comes from killing a Christian.”

Ambassador Morgenthau explained how “throughout the Turkish Empire a systematic attempt was made to kill all able-bodied men, not only for the purpose of removing all males who might propagate a new generation of Armenians, but for the purpose of rendering the weaker part of the population an easy prey.”

When thousands failed to turn in weapons, the Turks ransacked churches, desecrated altars, marched the naked men and women through the streets, letting them be whipped by angry Turkish mobs. Those imprisoned who did not manage to flee into the woods and caves were subjected to the “bastinado” torture, the beating of the soles of the feet until they burst and had to be amputated.

Crucifixion, pulling of fingernails, of hairs, of eyebrows, tearing of flesh with red-hot pincers, and then pouring hot oil into the wounds were some of the barbaric methods of torture drawn from the records of the Spanish Inquisition.

Torture was just the beginning of the Armenian atrocities. What was to come was the actual destruction of “an entire Armenian race” by deporting it to the south and southeastern part of the Ottoman Empire, the Syrian Desert and the Mesopotamian valley. Morgenthau said, “The Central Government now announced its intention of gathering the two million or more Armenians living in the several sections of the empire and transporting them to this desolate and inhospitable region.” They knew they would die on the way of thirst, starvation, or murdered by “Mohammedan desert tribes.”

The deportations took place through the spring and summer of 1915. The entire Armenian population of villages was ordered to appear in the main square, sometimes with little time to prepare, their homes and possessions confiscated for “safekeeping” and then divided among Turks. Once the deported Armenians had traveled several hours, they were attacked and killed in secluded valleys by Turkish peasants with clubs, hammers, axes, scythes, spades, and saws.

The “caravans of despair” originated in thousands of cities and villages in the Ottoman Empire.  Ambassador Morgenthau described how village after village and town after town were emptied of its Armenian population and, in six months, “about 1.2 million people started on this journey to the Syrian desert.” He believed it absurd that the Turkish government claimed to deport Armenians to “new homes,” the real intent was extermination. He concludes, “The details in questions were furnished to me directly by the American Consul in Aleppo, and are now on file in the State Department at Washington.” (Ambassador Morgenthau’s Story:  A Personal Account of the Armenian Genocide, Henry Morgenthau, Cosimo Classics, New York, 2010)

Henry Morgenthau Sr. (1856-1946) “details how Turkey fell under the influence of Germany and how this led to the Armenian Genocide. In a trial run of the extermination of the Jews, the Germans orchestrated the murder and exile of the Armenians from Turkey, with ‘Turkey for the Turks’ as a rallying cry. The similarities to the Holocaust are chilling.”

Also chilling is the recent discovery made by Stefan Petke of the Technical University of Berlin who uncovered rare WWII footage that documents the existence of Muslim units (The Free Arab Legion) in the Nazi army who were used as ‘working soldiers’ because they “were a complete failure in the battlefields of Tunisia in 1943.” http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4645922,00.html

The Armenian genocide, the Nazi Holocaust, Stalin’s mass starvation of his own people seems forgotten because schools spend no time discussing the atrocities committed. The good people of the world turned a deaf ear then just like they are doing today. The Ottoman/Islamist ISIS massacre against Christians continues to this day in Iraq and the good people of the world are doing little to help the victims.

Crybullies' Safe Spaces or Spaces to Whine?

In the face of worldwide “refugee” crisis, the poor ISIS fighters who had slaughtered, tortured, and enslaved thousands in their wake, sneaking into Europe and U.S., blowing up and killing more than 129 innocents in Paris and 14 in San Bernardino, injuring hundreds others, the world’s leaders have met in Paris not to discuss the existential Islamist threat to the world, but their faux concerns of the climate change industry, potentially worth trillions, instead of the imminent threat of Islam around the world coming from ISIS. Elites are more interested in fleecing and spreading the western world’s wealth to the third world, whose leadership dominates the U.N., rather than in the safety of their own citizens.

It is frightening how, after Parisians were killed in an attack orchestrated by ISIS, who recruited and convinced EU nationals to join them, how our regime and the leftist response is, "Wow, we need more of those Muslim refugees here!”

If you disagree, you are ignorant, racist, un-American, and un-Christian, even though Islam is not a race but a theocracy. And no one says, let’s bring in more Christian refugees who legitimately face crucifixion, or Muslim gays who risk being thrown from rooftops, or Muslim single mothers who risk being stoned to death for adultery, or Syrian atheists who risk being burned alive, or Syrian girls who risk being turned into sex slaves, abused, murdered, or sold. According to the regime, it is "against American values" to accept anyone other than regressive, radical Muslims. The regime’s anti-American conspiracy has become mainstream liberal foreign policy.

Donald Trump’s poll numbers have surged since he suggested that we should enact a temporary pause in admitting any more Muslims into our country until the vetting process is actually valid and working.

The media ignores the fact that Jimmy Carter revoked Iranian visas during the hostage crisis in 1979. Rush Limbaugh described and posted the video from the ABC News archives that demonstrates that, what Trump had suggested, had been done before by President Carter and it is neither bigoted nor xenophobic, it is acting in the best interest of the American people, protecting their safety. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/12/11/abc_news_digs_up_video_of_jimmy_carter_announcing_ban_on_iranian_immigration

The few libertarians still residing on American campuses cannot publicly post or voice their divergent opinions because their progressive colleagues are so indoctrinated by the "poor, innocent, cuddly" refugee idiocy that they can't see objective reasoning and will skewer them.

My friend K. received unbelievable backlash for saying "they should be screened not just for terror, but to make sure they believe in the American principles of equality, dignity, and freedom of religion--we don't need to import more bigots."

It reminded me of our conversation in D.C., "Don't liberals and gays have any sense of self-preservation?" Many of his liberal gay friends want to open America's doors to these Muslims who would love to toss gays off of rooftops and stone women to death for engaging in unmarried relationships or for dressing in revealing clothes.

Liberal academics would probably walk into areas where illegals have taken over the local government, have exhausted welfare services, have changed the face and demographics of schools, and turned the area into a cesspool of Sharia compliant ghetto and would say, “Wow, diversity!” then leave to go eat, stay, and vacation in their pretty white yuppie neighborhoods and hangouts.

Black Lives Matter, Stalinist “useful idiots” and “crybullies” on the left’s payroll, have fanned around the country, shrieking successfully in the faces of academics and administrators who cower in fear and give in to their outrageous demands, transforming the campus into an intolerant blitzkrieg, take no prisoners atmosphere, if anyone disagrees with their views and demands.

And the namby-pamby students themselves now whine about “safe spaces” on campus where they can be sheltered from reality, work, and any kind of strenuous thinking that might upset their drug-induced, rose-colored haze in vaunted majors such as women’s studies, race studies, and communist social justice. They are frightened by the sight of sober reality, American flags, Confederate flags, Halloween costumes, Christian symbols, people with white skin and non-existent “white privilege,” personal responsibility, entrepreneurship, and work ethic.

The concept of “safe space” involves retreating from the challenges of college, of life and reality in general, from the fear of uncertainty, an expression of the coddled generations raised by liberal parents and perhaps well-intentioned conservatives who wanted everything for their children that they did not have.

Did we have a safe space in schools under socialism/communism? Maybe it was the dark, dank, smelly, and dirty bathrooms flooded with urine. The courtyard was not a safe place either because we were only allowed there when we arrived and assembled in rows before we could go into the building, during PE classes once a day, and when we left school – congregation or protests of any kind were not allowed.

If anybody protested anything, they were dealt with speedily and efficiently – they never could nor would do it again. We could not go to the teacher’s office because they did not have one and talking to them would be like talking to an information gathering agency that would be used against you.

It was not allowed to congregate in the hallways unless one wanted detention. The classroom was not a safe space either. You had to sit in your chair at rapt attention and take notes. You had to keep your mouth shut unless asked a question. Should you give the wrong answer, or talk out of line, you were given a verbal dress down, physical punishment, but the next day you tried a little harder to blend into conformity.

Life and reality have few safe spaces. While these cowardly college students whine about escaping from the “harsh” reality of the world, coddled and sheltered their entire lives by liberal schools and misguided parents, brave American soldiers go to places around the world most of us cannot even imagine, the last line of defense between us and invading “refugees” who wish us harm.

Is a college “safe space” a misguided escape to communist dystopia, the dystopia in which Saul Alinsky still teaches his radicals to shake down the hard-working taxpayers under the guise of “social justice” and “fair share?”

Colleges have created “free speech zones,” tiny corners where divergent opinions may or may not be tolerated. Now they demand “safe spaces” on their campuses. Do these college students truly want safety in their country, on their campuses, or do they just want spaces to whine and shake down the social structure?

Witold Gadowski, Polish Journalist, Talks about Syrian Refugees to Fronda.pl

Award-winning Polish journalist Witold Gadowski
Anca Cernea translated on September 26, 2015, an interview given by Witold Gadowski, investigative journalist from Poland, to Jakub Jalowiczor from fronda.pl. Gadowski traveled to Syria and Turkey this past summer as war correspondent to document the “refugees” flooding Europe. http://inliniedreapta.net/adevaratele-victime-ale-statului-islamic-nu-sunt-printre-migrantii-care-vin-in-europa-witold-gadowski/

Cernea introduced Gadowski as producer of several documentaries on terrorism, organized crime, corruption, and the old communist system. He is an expert, writer, and journalism teacher at the Pontifical University of John Paul II.

In his movie, “Insha Allah, Blood of the Martyrs,” Gadowski describes the horrors that Yazidis and Christians must endure in Iraq and Syria under ISIS:  rapes, killings, and kidnappings. Jakub asked him if Europe might be next.

Gadowski responded that the true victims of wars are in camps in the Iraqi section of Kurdistan, in southern Turkey, and in Lebanon:  Shia, Yazidis, and Christians. In his opinion, the Shia are killed immediately when caught. Yazidi women are raped, Yazidi children are sold into slavery, and their men are killed. The Christians are converted to Islam by force, killed, or taxed Jizya. “These are the most persecuted groups in Syria and Iraq in the Diyala, Anbar, Ninive, and Salah ad Din provinces,” Gadowski alleged.

From the valley of Ninive, 60,000 Christians had to flee from Karakos in one day in order to escape the Islamic State. All fled to the Iraqi Kurdistan, Gadowski added. He recounted how he spoke to a teary-eyed Archbishop Nicodim, the patriarch of Mosul. He explained that religion is treated just like in the Bolshevik revolution days – “hordes enter churches, rob them, deface all the symbols, and destroy them.”

Gadowski said that “the borders of the Islamic State (ISIS) are controlled by troops led by Emir Al-Turki. If anyone tries to flee, the punishment is crucifixion.” If anybody escapes, it is because the Islamic State allows them to flee. Their secret service, AMNI, is very effective, he added. ISIS controls the border because it is a source of income – contraband and border traffic.

Gadowski alleges that ISIS has a budget of $800 million per year and that “The Islamic State sells illegally more than 60,000 barrels of oil per day,” mostly to Turkish and Iranian companies, oil that eventually makes its way to Israel and Europe.”

The young men, flooding Europe, are not refugees. “The real victims of the war are in the camps,” he repeated. “Why are the camp survivors pleading unsuccessfully to obtain visas for various European nations and being denied, while the young men are immediately taken in with open arms and presented as refugees?”

“It is a profound injustice when these invaders take the place of the real victims of war.” There are few Christians, Yazidis, and even fewer Kurds among them who truly suffered at the hands of ISIS. Gadowski believes that most of them are opportunists who could afford the $10,000 fee to be brought by coyotes to Europe; “90% of them are brought by the Turkish, Albanian, and Russian mafia,” he alleges.

The camps in the Middle East are financed to an extent by France, Germany, Great Britain, and Poland. Most help is illusive, said Gadowski. People have to endure hot weather in tents while the entire Europe is suddenly embracing these “law breakers” who have no documents, nobody knows who they are, nobody knows what their intentions are, and where they are headed. “Most of them are Muslims who will not integrate in society. It is a grave danger; there will be an Islamic problem in each of the countries where these refugees will settle. ”What is the Islamic problem is on full display in Paris, Brussels, and in German towns.”  Jakub mentioned Marseille as a classic example of the ‘Islamic problem.’ “Marseille is Arabic, pure and simple,” added Gadowski.

Gadowski believes that the Islamic State is composed of Saddam Hussein’s officers and prisoners released from Iraqi and Syrian jails. The superior officers morphed from BAAS party supporters into Islamists. ISIS is led by Iraqis, not Syrians, Gadowski pointed out. Sunnis, persecuted by Al-Maliki’s Shia government, joined the ranks of ISIS as well. Adding 85,000 from the 100,000 Sunni militias dissolved by Al-Malaki, and some Chechen volunteers, ISIS grew even larger. Money is coming in from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other sources, Gadowski said.

Bombing ISIS is futile, he said, since they insert themselves among civilians. Bombing refineries is inefficient as well. Specialists from China, Russia, and Iran make immediate repairs and the refineries are back in business.  Oil can also be refined on a smaller scale with portable refineries, Gadowski added, 1,000 barrels per day, they are relatively inexpensive. He alleges that ISIS sells art and archeological treasures to bring in revenue.

Gadowski stated that AMNI agents had been infiltrated among the “refugees.” According to him, these ‘lone wolves’ were sent around the world as “shahid” (martyr), an entire network of suicide bombers and murderers that are strictly controlled.

The Paris Massacre, Social Justice, and Redistribution of Wealth

Social justice is defined as “promoting a just society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity.” It can only exist when “all people share a common humanity and therefore have a right to equitable treatment, support for their human rights, and a fair allocation of community resources.” http://gjs.appstate.edu/social-justice-and-human-rights/what-social-justice

There are many problems with this definition. The most glaring is the fact that “personal responsibility” does not seem to be a variable. Another problem is the fact that, to quote Dr. Savage, “Without quality there can be no equality.” Thirdly, this much touted and failed diversity/multiculturalism is causing severe problems in the west as the advancing hordes of Muslim “refugees” are causing massacres, chaos, and destruction in Paris and in Europe, soon to emerge in the U.S.

Not all people share a common humanity, some are quite barbaric. Western societies have built a civilization based on huge libraries of knowledge whereas theocracies like Islam base their entire existence on one book to the exclusion of all else. Additionally, allocating community resources fairly from an economic stand point is logistically impossible unless governments steal from one group or persons and give to others.

From Pope Pius XII, the much beloved, anti-communist and anti-Nazi Pope, to the current overtly socialist Pope Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Catholic Church, the church has undergone transformational changes. These changes are influencing the politics of the globe and shifting the role of the papacy from caring for the souls of parishioners to promoting global socialism through redistribution of wealth, social justice, and submission to the politics of the climate change industry.

In his 224-page document, “The Joy of the Gospel” (Evangelii Gaudium), Pope Francis criticized the following. http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20131124_evangelii-gaudium.html

-          The current capitalist inequalities

Do progressives, who criticize capitalism as evil, understand that socialism and communism were never equal, inclusive, kind to the people, and fair? There were two classes, the haves, composed of communist party apparatchiks, and the have-nots, composed of the proletariat.

-          “The idolatry of money”

Who pays for the salaries of priests and the maintenance of churches around the world for its 1.5 billion Catholics? Do they work for free? Do they not “idolize” money in order to survive? The Holy See is quite flush with cash and wealthy beyond belief if you consider thousands of priceless works of art, marble statues, gold and silver icons, urns, crucifixes, chalices, and marble cathedrals around the world. Should they not follow their own direction and distribute all this vast wealth to the poor?

-          “The inequality that spawns violence”

Have liberals and other assorted followers not understood that violence and wars around the world were borne not only by real or perceived economic inequalities but by religion, land disputes, drug cartels, plundering, natural resources such as oil, gold, coal, diamonds, silver, and insatiable lust for power and control?

How exactly does the millennial Islamic violence and wars, driven by the quest to kill the “infidels” and to install a world-wide Caliphate, figure out into this half-baked inequality theory? Schools have successfully indoctrinated generations of students who do not know that the Crusades were responses to Arab aggression and Islamic occupation of Europe.

-          “Trickle-down economics” as a theory that “expresses a crude and naïve trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power.”

The Washington Post immediately included the papal criticism in its editorial and pointed out that Democrats and liberals have rejected the “trickle-down economics” theory and used the phrase derisively to define it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/pope-francis-denounces-trickle-down-economic-theories-in-critique-of-inequality/2013/11/26/e17ffe4e-56b6-11e3-8304-caf30787c0a9_story.html

“The phrase has often been used derisively to describe a popular version of conservative economic philosophy that argues that allowing the wealthy to run their businesses unencumbered by regulation or taxation bears economic benefits that lead to more jobs and income for the rest of society. Liberals and Democratic officials have rejected the theory, saying it is contradicted by economic evidence.”

As a matter of fact, trickle-down theories, which “assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world,” have been proven correct.

There is a good reason why the United States has done so well economically as opposed to centralized, socialist, and communist countries where indescribable poverty is rampant while the ruling, tyrannical elite live luxuriously. Even the poorest of the poor in the United States live far better lives than the rest of the world because free markets work despite heavy infusion of crony capitalism.

The Latin American Pope from Buenos Aires lamented that masses are still waiting for “social justice.” We have certainly spent trillions of dollars to no avail, in an effort to eradicate the poverty supposedly driven by social injustice. After decades of fighting the war on poverty and giving trillions around the globe and to our own population, we have made little progress because we have created a perennial welfare class that prefers to stay at home instead of being productively working.

The welfare class has been expanded with the addition of the multi-cultural illegal aliens brought in by the open borders non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who benefit financially from taking in as many illegals as possible, and the Muslim “refugees” resettled from around the world in places where their Sharia Laws clash violently with western civilization and are incompatible with our Constitution.

Never mind that economically speaking poverty is a relative term and there is a difference between wealth and income. But facts should not get in the way of the progressive agenda pandering to the economically-illiterate voting base and to the illegal immigrants invading U.S. and Europe who do not speak English and are often illiterate in their own native languages.

Somehow, in the twisted liberal logic, it is social justice to steal from the wealthy and the middle class.  These “rich” citizens have not earned their wealth through hard work but have stolen their ill-gotten gains from the poor and must therefore give it away to the downtrodden.

According to Gen. Pacepa, the Soviet communist-led idea of “social justice” was infiltrated successfully by the KGB into the Latin America’s Catholic Church as a religious movement called “liberation theology.” The goal was to “incite Latin America’s poor to rebel against the ‘institutionalized violence of poverty’ generated by the United States.” (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D. C., WND Books, Inc., 2013, chapter 15, p. 106)

What kind of “social justice” are the masses waiting for who are pining for socialism and communism? They are waiting to vote again and again for the same individuals and the same socialist or communist governments that brought them to the brink of poverty and kept them perennially downtrodden. They are waiting for socialist governments to give them welfare and free minimal health care through Castro clinics while they stay home and procreate more dependents. They are waiting for the redistribution of wealth from productive citizens. They are enslaved to their governments who decide their daily lives yet it is the United States’ fault.

Does “inequality spawn violence?” Is the Pope’s statement that “Authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence” true? That is an interesting question to ponder in light of the violence spawned around Europe by the Islamist “refugees” that is creating chaos and destruction in many small towns in Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and Sweden.

The following is an excerpt from paragraph 253 of the papal document: …“We Christians should embrace with affection and respect Muslim immigrants to our countries in the same way that we hope and ask to be received and respected in countries of Islamic tradition. I ask and I humbly entreat those countries to grant Christians freedom to worship and to practice their faith, in light of the freedom which followers of Islam enjoy in Western countries! Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism, our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalisations, for authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/francesco/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20131124_evangelii-gaudium_en.pdf

The Christian victims of jihad violence in Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria carried out daily by Muslims who use the Koran to explain the burning of churches and the killing of innocents certainly contradict his Holiness. And the hundreds of dead and grievously injured westerners in the Paris massacre are blatant and painful evidence to the Islamist intolerance.

Based on prior history, we know neither appeasement nor reverse psychology works; on the contrary, appeasement creates war and more violence.

Robert Spencer explained that “The Bishop of Rome, by virtue of his position as successor of St. Peter, can, according to Catholic teaching, speak authoritatively about Catholic doctrine: he has the authority to delineate what is authentic Catholicism. This, however, is a statement about "authentic Islam." It would be interesting to know how he came to this conclusion, since the Pope of Rome has no counterpart within the Islamic world: there is no Muslim authority to which he can appeal in order to discover what ‘authentic Islam’ consists of, and many Muslim authorities would disagree with his statement that ‘authentic Islam’ is opposed to every form of violence." http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/11/pope-francis-authentic-islam-and-the-proper-reading-of-the-koran-are-opposed-to-every-form-of-violen.html

Pope Pius XII saved many Jews from pogroms. He was the voice of the Catholic Church to protest against Hitler’s attack on the Jews, the Polish people, and on the prisoners in the concentration camps.

He even used Castel Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer home, to shelter thousands of refugees.  In fact, “his personal bedroom was converted into a nursery and birthing area, and about forty babies were born there during the war.” The World Jewish Congress estimated that 860,000 Jews were saved by the Catholic Church and the work of Pope Pius XII. (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D.C., WND Books, Inc., 2013, p. 66, as quoted from the testimony of P. Guglielmo Hentrich before the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Rome)

Would Pope Francis, with his vast and powerful influence, succeed in “nudging” the global population into the direction of global socialism with its “social justice,” complete redistribution of wealth, and blind submission to the climate change industry and to “Chrislam?”

Project Veritas, Progressive Academia, and Our National Security

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has unveiled a new shocking video. Officials from Barry University in Florida, a private and Catholic institution founded in 1940, appear more than willing to approve the inception of a campus club that would raise money to support ISIS, the very terrorists who are killing indiscriminately Muslims, Christians, and gays in Iraq, taking over regions that were formerly freed by our American soldiers.  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3017455/Barry-University-officials-approve-club-raising-money-ISIS-video.html#ixzz3VtVglW1o

According to the Vice President for Student Affairs, as quoted by the Daily Mail Online, “Barry University would not approve any group supporting a terrorist organization.” But other universities have revealed in previously released videos that they have no problem with ISIS and Hamas being on their campus.

This video contradicts our National Security Strategy which was released in February 2015 from the executive office. It addressed security, prosperity, values, and international order. One of the important issues in the report involves “combating the persistent threat of terrorism.” Yet colleges are sanctioning and willing to support terrorist groups.

“This new National Security Strategy positions the United States to safeguard our national interests through strong and sustainable leadership.” Apparently, this strong and sustainable leadership, in partnership with Congress, has “helped the world recover from a global economic crisis and respond to an array of emerging challenges.”

One such challenge is the “potential proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons,” posing a great risk. I do hope Iran got the message that they must stop in their tracks any non-peaceful nuclear arming.

Because we are a “global force for good,” we must “lead with a purpose,” in line with the 2010 National Security Strategy:

-          Secure the U.S, its citizens, and U.S. allies and partners;

-          Grow the U.S. economy in an “open international economic system;”

-          Respect “universal values at home and around the world;”

-          International order based on rules “advanced by U.S. leadership,” promoting “peace, security, and opportunity through stronger cooperation to meet global challenges.”

What are the top risks to our interests?

-          “Catastrophic attack on the U.S. homeland or critical infrastructure

-          Threats or attacks against U.S. citizens abroad and our allies;

-          Global economic crisis or widespread economic slowdown;

-          Proliferation and/or use of weapons of mass destruction;

-          Severe global infectious disease outbreaks;

-          Climate change; (Who knew suddenly climate changing from season to season could be

           such a threat!)

-          Major energy market disruptions; (Maybe closing so many coal-fired power plants may not have been such a good idea)

-          Significant security consequences associated with weak or falling states (including mass atrocities, regional spillover, and transnational organized crime).”

The Arab Winter comes to mind under this rubric and the drug cartel members coming unimpeded through our porous southern borders.

According to this report, America must lead “with strength,” “by example,” “with capable partners,” “with all the instruments of U.S. power,” and “with a long-term perspective.”

Since the last National Security Strategy in 2010, five recent transitions have been identified as significantly changing our security landscape, the academic progressivism not withstanding:

1.      “Power among states is more dynamic,” i.e., India’s potential, China’s rise, Russia’s aggression, impacting “the future of major power relations.”

2.      “Power is shifting below and beyond the nation-state.” Weak governments or authoritarian regimes have to deal with technology, growing middle class, and unruly “youth as a majority in many societies.”

3.      “Increasing interdependence of the global economy,” creating vulnerability through interconnected systems and sectors “susceptible to the threats of climate change, malicious cyber activity, pandemic diseases, and transnational terrorism and crime.”

4.      “Struggle for power among and within many states in the Middle East and North Africa.” The report points out “religious extremists” and “rulers that reject democratic reforms, exploit their economies, and crush civil society.”

5.      “Global energy market has changed dramatically.” Apparently we are now “the world’s largest natural gas and oil producer” and “we are leading a new clean energy economy.” I am not sure if this clean energy can yet supply our large economy and keep our factories running, our lights on, our heat on, and the A/C constantly powered. The report points out that our energy security has been worsened by the “European dependence on Russian natural gas and the willingness of Russia to use energy for political ends.”

In the meantime, can someone tell the U.S. academia that supporting terrorists such as ISIS or Hamas on their campuses and financing their mayhem goes against our national security strategy and interests?
