HUD Will Choose Your Neighbors through a Massive Social Engineering Rule

Home, Sweet Home Photo: Andrei Pandele
On July 8, 2015, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the final rule on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH). HUD describes this rule – “everyone can access affordable, quality housing regardless of their “race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, or familial status.”  http://www.hud.gov/news/index.cfm

HUD’s Secretary, Julian Castro, stated that “unfortunately, too many Americans find their dreams limited by where they come from, and a ZIP code should never determine a child’s future.” To make sure all Americans have access to “safe, affordable housing in communities that are rich with opportunity,” HUD will socially reengineer where we live.
This new AFFH (15-084) HUD rule was issued based on “recommendations made by a 2010 Government Accountability Office report, stakeholders, and HUD program participants.”

Those who receive grants from HUD must analyze “their fair housing landscape and set locally determined fair housing priorities and goals through an Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH).

“To aid communities in this work, HUD will provide open data to grantees and the public on patterns of integration and segregation, racially and ethnically concentrated areas of poverty, disproportionate housing needs, and disparities in access to opportunity.” Armed with such sensitive information, HUD grantees will then force their goals onto existing communities and housing planning processes. “In addition to providing data and maps, HUD will also provide technical assistance to aid grantees as they adopt this approach.” http://www.huduser.gov/portal/affht_pt.html#final-rule

Tom DeWeese, President of the American Policy Center, explained that the AFFH Rule “will virtually erase the very concept of local rule by your locally elected representatives.” Massive demographic analyses will be undertaken on communities that apply for HUD grants “to determine if there are enough low income and minority people living in every neighborhood. HUD will search the records of every person in each neighborhood for income levels, race, color, religion, national origin and much more.” Such data mining will take place every five years.

According to Ken Blackwell and Rick Manning, “AFFH rule seeks to radically reinvent local zoning laws in the United States – reengineering America’s neighborhoods based on racial and ethnic quotas. Under the rule’s assessment tool, local governments are required to ‘identify neighborhoods or areas in the jurisdiction and region where racial/ethnic groups are segregated.” www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/12/04/congress-must-stop-team-obamas-plan-to-radically-reengineer-americas-neighborhoods.html

The AFFH Rule has transformed the $3.5 billion annual program into “a political redistricting tool.”

Tom DeWeese warned that the AFFH Rule will cause property values to plummet, equity in homes will disappear, the government will replace your locally elected representatives, wealth will be redistributed, private property ownership will be destroyed, and local control will disappear.

Key features under this HUD AFFH Rule are as follows:

-          Clarifying existing fair housing obligations (standardization and transparency)

-          Publicly open data on fair housing and access to opportunity (HUD will provide open data and mapping tools)

-          Balanced approach to fair housing (invest to revitalize distressed areas and expand access to HUD housing throughout the entire community regardless of pre-existing zoning)

-          Expanding access to opportunity (“The strength of America’s economy, the stability, and security of its neighborhoods, and the ability for all to prosper depends on all Americans having equal access to opportunity – no matter what they look like or where they come from.”)

-          Valuing local data and knowledge (publicly open data will assist with their assessment of fair housing)

-          Customized tools for local leaders (fair housing assessment data and tools are specific to local jurisdictions, public housing authorities, and states and Insular Areas)

-          Collaboration is encouraged (regional fair housing priorities and goals)

-          Community voice (community participation in analyzing fair housing conditions)

-          A phased-in approach (additional time to adopt AFFH rule)

-          Additional time for small grantees and recent regional collaborations (for areas receiving $500,000 grants or less, and areas receiving HUD’s Sustainable Communities competition grants)http://www.huduser.gov/portal/sites/default/files/pdf/AFFH_Final_Rule_Executive_Summary.pdf
Tom DeWeese called this AFFH what it really is – communism. To fight back, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-4th district) of Arizona introduced an amendment to prevent HUD from implementing AFFH. The House passed this amendment (229-193) and attached it to Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations bill (THUD).

Senator Mike Lee of Utah introduced a similar amendment in the Senate called the “Local Zoning Decisions Protection Act” (S.1909). Co-sponsors are Senators Jeff Sessions, David Vetter, Mike Enzi, and Marco Rubio. THUD will come up for a vote any time now. It is up to you to call your senators to fight against this massive and irreversible social engineering of America and redistribution of your wealth. Forcing people to live in neighborhoods of the government’s choosing has been tried under communism with disastrous results.

The Paris Massacre, Social Justice, and Redistribution of Wealth

Social justice is defined as “promoting a just society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity.” It can only exist when “all people share a common humanity and therefore have a right to equitable treatment, support for their human rights, and a fair allocation of community resources.” http://gjs.appstate.edu/social-justice-and-human-rights/what-social-justice

There are many problems with this definition. The most glaring is the fact that “personal responsibility” does not seem to be a variable. Another problem is the fact that, to quote Dr. Savage, “Without quality there can be no equality.” Thirdly, this much touted and failed diversity/multiculturalism is causing severe problems in the west as the advancing hordes of Muslim “refugees” are causing massacres, chaos, and destruction in Paris and in Europe, soon to emerge in the U.S.

Not all people share a common humanity, some are quite barbaric. Western societies have built a civilization based on huge libraries of knowledge whereas theocracies like Islam base their entire existence on one book to the exclusion of all else. Additionally, allocating community resources fairly from an economic stand point is logistically impossible unless governments steal from one group or persons and give to others.

From Pope Pius XII, the much beloved, anti-communist and anti-Nazi Pope, to the current overtly socialist Pope Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Catholic Church, the church has undergone transformational changes. These changes are influencing the politics of the globe and shifting the role of the papacy from caring for the souls of parishioners to promoting global socialism through redistribution of wealth, social justice, and submission to the politics of the climate change industry.

In his 224-page document, “The Joy of the Gospel” (Evangelii Gaudium), Pope Francis criticized the following. http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20131124_evangelii-gaudium.html

-          The current capitalist inequalities

Do progressives, who criticize capitalism as evil, understand that socialism and communism were never equal, inclusive, kind to the people, and fair? There were two classes, the haves, composed of communist party apparatchiks, and the have-nots, composed of the proletariat.

-          “The idolatry of money”

Who pays for the salaries of priests and the maintenance of churches around the world for its 1.5 billion Catholics? Do they work for free? Do they not “idolize” money in order to survive? The Holy See is quite flush with cash and wealthy beyond belief if you consider thousands of priceless works of art, marble statues, gold and silver icons, urns, crucifixes, chalices, and marble cathedrals around the world. Should they not follow their own direction and distribute all this vast wealth to the poor?

-          “The inequality that spawns violence”

Have liberals and other assorted followers not understood that violence and wars around the world were borne not only by real or perceived economic inequalities but by religion, land disputes, drug cartels, plundering, natural resources such as oil, gold, coal, diamonds, silver, and insatiable lust for power and control?

How exactly does the millennial Islamic violence and wars, driven by the quest to kill the “infidels” and to install a world-wide Caliphate, figure out into this half-baked inequality theory? Schools have successfully indoctrinated generations of students who do not know that the Crusades were responses to Arab aggression and Islamic occupation of Europe.

-          “Trickle-down economics” as a theory that “expresses a crude and naïve trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power.”

The Washington Post immediately included the papal criticism in its editorial and pointed out that Democrats and liberals have rejected the “trickle-down economics” theory and used the phrase derisively to define it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/pope-francis-denounces-trickle-down-economic-theories-in-critique-of-inequality/2013/11/26/e17ffe4e-56b6-11e3-8304-caf30787c0a9_story.html

“The phrase has often been used derisively to describe a popular version of conservative economic philosophy that argues that allowing the wealthy to run their businesses unencumbered by regulation or taxation bears economic benefits that lead to more jobs and income for the rest of society. Liberals and Democratic officials have rejected the theory, saying it is contradicted by economic evidence.”

As a matter of fact, trickle-down theories, which “assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world,” have been proven correct.

There is a good reason why the United States has done so well economically as opposed to centralized, socialist, and communist countries where indescribable poverty is rampant while the ruling, tyrannical elite live luxuriously. Even the poorest of the poor in the United States live far better lives than the rest of the world because free markets work despite heavy infusion of crony capitalism.

The Latin American Pope from Buenos Aires lamented that masses are still waiting for “social justice.” We have certainly spent trillions of dollars to no avail, in an effort to eradicate the poverty supposedly driven by social injustice. After decades of fighting the war on poverty and giving trillions around the globe and to our own population, we have made little progress because we have created a perennial welfare class that prefers to stay at home instead of being productively working.

The welfare class has been expanded with the addition of the multi-cultural illegal aliens brought in by the open borders non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who benefit financially from taking in as many illegals as possible, and the Muslim “refugees” resettled from around the world in places where their Sharia Laws clash violently with western civilization and are incompatible with our Constitution.

Never mind that economically speaking poverty is a relative term and there is a difference between wealth and income. But facts should not get in the way of the progressive agenda pandering to the economically-illiterate voting base and to the illegal immigrants invading U.S. and Europe who do not speak English and are often illiterate in their own native languages.

Somehow, in the twisted liberal logic, it is social justice to steal from the wealthy and the middle class.  These “rich” citizens have not earned their wealth through hard work but have stolen their ill-gotten gains from the poor and must therefore give it away to the downtrodden.

According to Gen. Pacepa, the Soviet communist-led idea of “social justice” was infiltrated successfully by the KGB into the Latin America’s Catholic Church as a religious movement called “liberation theology.” The goal was to “incite Latin America’s poor to rebel against the ‘institutionalized violence of poverty’ generated by the United States.” (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D. C., WND Books, Inc., 2013, chapter 15, p. 106)

What kind of “social justice” are the masses waiting for who are pining for socialism and communism? They are waiting to vote again and again for the same individuals and the same socialist or communist governments that brought them to the brink of poverty and kept them perennially downtrodden. They are waiting for socialist governments to give them welfare and free minimal health care through Castro clinics while they stay home and procreate more dependents. They are waiting for the redistribution of wealth from productive citizens. They are enslaved to their governments who decide their daily lives yet it is the United States’ fault.

Does “inequality spawn violence?” Is the Pope’s statement that “Authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence” true? That is an interesting question to ponder in light of the violence spawned around Europe by the Islamist “refugees” that is creating chaos and destruction in many small towns in Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and Sweden.

The following is an excerpt from paragraph 253 of the papal document: …“We Christians should embrace with affection and respect Muslim immigrants to our countries in the same way that we hope and ask to be received and respected in countries of Islamic tradition. I ask and I humbly entreat those countries to grant Christians freedom to worship and to practice their faith, in light of the freedom which followers of Islam enjoy in Western countries! Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism, our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalisations, for authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/francesco/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20131124_evangelii-gaudium_en.pdf

The Christian victims of jihad violence in Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria carried out daily by Muslims who use the Koran to explain the burning of churches and the killing of innocents certainly contradict his Holiness. And the hundreds of dead and grievously injured westerners in the Paris massacre are blatant and painful evidence to the Islamist intolerance.

Based on prior history, we know neither appeasement nor reverse psychology works; on the contrary, appeasement creates war and more violence.

Robert Spencer explained that “The Bishop of Rome, by virtue of his position as successor of St. Peter, can, according to Catholic teaching, speak authoritatively about Catholic doctrine: he has the authority to delineate what is authentic Catholicism. This, however, is a statement about "authentic Islam." It would be interesting to know how he came to this conclusion, since the Pope of Rome has no counterpart within the Islamic world: there is no Muslim authority to which he can appeal in order to discover what ‘authentic Islam’ consists of, and many Muslim authorities would disagree with his statement that ‘authentic Islam’ is opposed to every form of violence." http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/11/pope-francis-authentic-islam-and-the-proper-reading-of-the-koran-are-opposed-to-every-form-of-violen.html

Pope Pius XII saved many Jews from pogroms. He was the voice of the Catholic Church to protest against Hitler’s attack on the Jews, the Polish people, and on the prisoners in the concentration camps.

He even used Castel Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer home, to shelter thousands of refugees.  In fact, “his personal bedroom was converted into a nursery and birthing area, and about forty babies were born there during the war.” The World Jewish Congress estimated that 860,000 Jews were saved by the Catholic Church and the work of Pope Pius XII. (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D.C., WND Books, Inc., 2013, p. 66, as quoted from the testimony of P. Guglielmo Hentrich before the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Rome)

Would Pope Francis, with his vast and powerful influence, succeed in “nudging” the global population into the direction of global socialism with its “social justice,” complete redistribution of wealth, and blind submission to the climate change industry and to “Chrislam?”

"Climate Change" Hypocrites and Their Fossil Fuel Guzzling Jets

Vostok Ice Core Team in Antarctica

While the northeast is preparing for Snowmaggedon, 2-3 feet of snow, as if we’ve never had a few feet of snow before, the global warming turned climate change crowd is preparing for the upcoming global climate negotiations in December in Paris.  Pharrell Williams tweeted “Let’s unite a billion voices to take #ClimateAction now” urging climate change awareness from his private jet in which he is pictured sitting alone.   http://twitchy.com/2015/01/22/does-this-private-jet-make-pharrells-carbon-footprint-look-fat-singer-plugs-live-earth-agenda/

A crowd of influential rich people, 40 heads of state, 2,500 business leaders, and former VP Al Gore has gathered in Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum, Jan. 21-24, 2015, to discuss climate change and “how to make fabric from recycled plastic.” Other topics included the IMF’s forecasting of 3.5% economic growth, European Central Bank’s quantitative easing package, the decline in oil prices, Japan’s monetary easing, and technology. http://www.weforum.org/sessions/summary/global-economic-outlook-5

Co-chaired by Oxfam’s executive director, Winnie Byanyima, the five day conference also highlighted inequality and the need to further spread the wealth, a “larger share of the economic pie,” to the rest of the impoverished world.  Oxfam is calling for “free universal public services by 2020, including education and health” and living wages for people who have no qualifications.

Felipe Calderon, former Mexican President, told USA Today, “Decision-makers meeting in Davos must focus on ways to reduce climate risk while building more efficient, cleaner, and lower-carbon economies.”

Keep in mind that, while the attendees discussed “income inequality,” how the globe’s rich do not pay their “fair share,” and gender inequality keeps women economically repressed, the conference tickets cost $40,000. Who decides what is a “fair share” and how? When is wealth redistribution through taxation and welfare to poor countries enough?

It does not matter that thousands of real scientists and the Vostock ice core samples have debunked the man-made global warming/climate change theory, what rich liberals care about is lining their pockets with more economic activity taxation based on the non-polluting CO2, the gas of life, which they call carbon.

Global warmists know we are not God and we cannot change the climate and climate change existed for millennia. The globe’s climate underwent major ice ages, small ice ages, and warmer periods even in times when humans did not roam the earth.  Solar activity, volcanic activity, and oceanic currents play a significant role in the ever-changing climate.

The prominent liberals in the media and Hollywood sure hate global warming but they love their private jets, yachts, multiple homes, cars, helicopters, and other gas guzzling toys while urging the rest of us to drive tin can, preferably bicycle everywhere, and live in jail cell-sized tiny homes.

No hypocrisy here in needing extra airport space in Switzerland to park the 550 or so extra jets that arrived for the conference in Davos. The military opened up their airport to accommodate them. Only the “climate change” hypocrites flying alone can burn more fossil fuels in a few hours than most of us burn in years and then have the gall to lecture us on protecting the earth.

Environmentalists worried over fossil fuels may be thrilled or disappointed depending on the outcome of the five-year plan, 2017-2022, that may allow drilling in the Atlantic Ocean. The Washington Examiner said that “the president is likely to permit exploration and drilling off the coast of Virginia and possibly the shorelines of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.” http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/obama-expected-to-allow-drilling-in-atlantic/article/2559140?utm_campaign=Prospect:%20Politics%20Today%20pmi&utm_source=Prospect:%20Politics%20Today%20pmi%20-%2001/25/15&utm_medium=email

The Washington Post announced that President Obama is proposing to block 12 million acres of Arctic refuge from oil and gas drilling by “designating the area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as wilderness, the highest level of federal protection that would ban oil and gas drilling.”

Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, new Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, said to Interior Secretary Sally Jewell during a phone call, “What’s coming is a stunning attack on our sovereignty and our ability to develop a strong economy that allows us, our children and our grandchildren to thrive.” She continued, “It’s clear this administration does not care about us, and sees us as nothing but a territory. . . . I cannot understand why this administration is willing to negotiate with Iran, but not Alaska. But we will not be run over like this. We will fight back with every resource at our disposal.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2015/01/25/obama-administration-to-propose-new-wilderness-protections-in-arctic-refuge-alaska-republicans-declare-war/

And any Snowmageddon should be worrisome to Americans for a very good reason. EPA’s over-regulations have shut down almost 20 percent of the coal power plants which means that your electricity during severe cold spells could become unstable, unreliable, and a matter of survival. Natural gas can be used instead but the spot prices are expensive and delivery more difficult.

But don’t worry too much about your family’s finances and survivability as long as your carbon foot prints are very small. You’ll look environmentally-smug, unsafe, and duped behind the wheel of a Smart Car or something running on renewables such as solar, wind, or whatever unaffordable form of energy the “climate change” hucksters develop. Meanwhile, the U.S. oil futures have surged following the death of the Saudi King Abdullah.

Promotion of Marxism Disguised as Income Inequality

Lately, as the social justice, income disparity, income inequality, economic justice rhetoric intensifies, more global and Hollywood elites crawl out of the woodwork to confuse, agitate, and inflame the low information voters.

When almost 50 percent of the American public does not work and relies on some form of government welfare paid for by the other 50 percent of the working population, it is perplexing when former White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers states that “The U.S. may well be on the way to becoming a ‘Downton Abbey’ economy.”

Downton Abbey is a British television show that highlights a wealthy British family and their servants at the turn of the 20th century. It seems to me that the 50 percent of Americans that are already working have become unwilling servants to the other 50 percent on welfare whose main jobs is to vote for the same politicians who promise and deliver more unearned income tax and “entitlements” by taxing the “rich” even more.

It is galling to hear people, who pay no taxes, work and get paid cash under the radar of the IRS, receive welfare, earned income tax credit, are paid by unions to show up and protest people who work for a living, demand that the “rich are not paying their fair share.”

Who is victimizing these people who consider themselves poor and downtrodden? If you ask them and their political representatives who became rich in office, voting and implementing policies that keep their constituents poor, it is the rich who are at fault. Personal responsibility plays no role in their ill-made choices.

Our huge and unpayable national debt has become the number one threat to national security. Yet Business Insider reports that the former CEO of Pimco, Mohammed El-Erian, considers “income inequality, wealth inequality, and inequality of opportunity the most important issues for policymakers and the rest of society to address.”

The former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said, “I consider income inequality the most dangerous part of what’s going on in the United States.”

It is interesting to evaluate such statements now when America is plagued by huge unemployment, trillions of dollars of new national debt, 0.1% GDP growth, anemic, mostly part-time job creation, disastrous economic policies, out of control spending, devaluation of the dollar through constant quantitative easings (monetizing the deficit), heavy corporate taxation which causes Congress-enabled overseas exodus of capital, EPA and DOE rules and regulations that destroy jobs and prevent the creation of new ones, and Obamacare, encompassing a huge portion of the economy and wasting trillions of dollars in the process of destroying the world’s best health care system.

French economist Thomas PIcketty, in his Keynesian appraisal of capitalism through the lenses of Karl Marx, Thomas Malthus, and David Ricardo, wrote that income inequality would be less of an issue if we had stronger economic growth or if we imposed more confiscatory taxes on the wealthiest 10 percent.

Jared Bernstein believes that “income inequality hurt the economy because the wealthy spend a lower percentage of their income than the non-wealthy.” As if the rich sit on their vast fortunes. Who creates jobs? It is certainly not the poor. Who buys luxury goods?

Picketty added that the financial meltdown (caused in large part by Democrat-driven and sponsored lending policies and eager realtors who repackaged and resold bad loans) was a direct result of income inequality forcing modest households to go in debt, lured by “unscrupulous banks and financial intermediaries...[who] offered credit on increasingly generous terms.” In his view the consumers were hapless victims who had no idea that they could not afford a half million dollar home on a $50,000 a year income.

If the job scenario was not bad enough, Greenspan is calling on immigration reform. He says that the economy needs a boost in high-skilled workers. A lot of our college graduates are unemployed, willing and able to work, but employers prefer foreign workers because they work for less. The majority of those awaiting amnesty are unfortunately low-skill or no-skill workers. Passing amnesty would then hurt American minimum wage job holders and seekers as they would compete with 12 more million amnestied workers and their large extended families.

A study from the Brookings Institution found that “income inequality is much greater in cities like San Francisco with high-flying economies than in more sluggish ones like Wichita, Kansas.” (Dan Weil, February 25, 2014)

Peter Morici described Picketty’s solution to income inequality:

-          80 percent tax on income above $500,000 or $1 million

-          Annual levy on wealth of 10 percent

-          Use revenue thus derived to finance more redistribution of wealth via programs sponsored by progressive politicians, i.e. national health care and more government jobs

In defense of capitalism which Picketty excoriates, Morici said that it is the “democratic governments” who do not “act responsibly” and are thus “failing America’s workers and middle class.” (Democracy, Not Capitalism, Is Failing the Middle Class, April 29, 2014)

In the promotion of class envy and discontent, Saul Alinsky proposed class warfare, the division of people into the wealthy and the poor in order to make it easier to tax the wealthy with the support of the poor. Increasing the debt to unsustainable levels would allow the government to increase taxes on the middle class, thus producing more poor people who are easier to control.

Despite strident rhetoric of income inequality coming from the left, even Keynesian economists recognize the following reasons for unequal incomes which have little to do with the progressive taking points in the main stream media:
                  -          Differences in ability such as I.Q., poor health, and “entrepreneurial ability”

-          Differences in intensity of work (some people work longer hours voluntarily, take on more jobs, or labor more intensely than others)

-          Risk taking (investing in a start-up company, stock market, commodities market, an invention, a prototype, etc.)

-          Compensating wage differentials (some jobs are more dangerous, more unpleasant, more demanding; for example, night shift vs. day shift, mining)

-          Schooling and other types of training (investment in self, in human capital, paying high tuition to learn a trade)

-          Work experience

-          Inherited wealth

-          Luck (wage differentials do exist by chance)

Progressives view income inequality as a harbinger for poverty. This is not necessarily true. Poverty is a relative term. A person who considers himself/herself poor in one country can be rich in another. Here are some of the reasons that cause poverty:
      -          Tyranny

-          Perennial welfare

-          Bad choices in life

-          Lack of education

-          Poor choices in degrees

-          Absence of middle class

-          No opportunity for success

-          No resources, i.e. living in a place like the Gobi desert

-          Suppression by rulers and by government

-          Not willing or afraid to put forth the effort and time to invest in oneself (human capital)

-          Comfortable in generational poverty status quo

-          Mental and emotional handicap, addiction

-          Mental illness (much homelessness is caused by mental illness)

-          Cultural factors, i.e., generational poverty

-          Social mobility

-          Lack of mobility to places where better opportunities exist

-          Religious oppression and ignored genocide

Pope Francis called on governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in order to curb the “economy of exclusion,” hinting at the “injustices of capitalism.” (AP, “Pope Demands ‘Legitimate Redistribution’ of Wealth,” May 9, 2014)

Americans are already the most generous nation with their time, money, expertise, food, medicine, and education for those less fortunate. We don’t need the government to step in and confiscate in a Stalinist fashion our hard work in the name of the ill-conceived and unjust Marxist brand of “social justice.”

Having lived under both communist tyranny and capitalism, I choose capitalism exclusively. People don’t want someone else’s wealth  or welfare on a constant basis, they have pride and want the opportunity to work for a better life, not expect crumbs from a tyrannical communist government or from a government beholden to crony capitalist corporatist interests.

The generous “government” welfare to those 50 percent low information voters who are elated with the current global status quo does not come just from the rich who pay plenty of taxes in spite of unfounded accusations, but also from people who often work long hours every week, two or three jobs to make ends meet, and sometimes cannot afford to buy the very things welfare recipients purchase with someone else’s hard work. Additionally, what the government gives so liberally with other people’s money, it can certainly take away.

Progressives have worked hard to cause permanent physical poverty and mental penury in America, while discrediting and blaming capitalism for “income inequality:”

-          killing job opportunities for the poor (enacting higher pay for minimum wage jobs, creating Obamacare, pushing solar and wind energy against fossil fuels)

-          keeping poor Americans out of good schools (forcing them out of successful charter schools like the one in D.C. into public schools to appease the teachers’ union)

-          giving generous welfare that dis-incentivizes work and creating a Democrat plantation mentality (a destroyer of the human spirit and of the work ethic)

-          supporting and funding abortion and single mother households with government as the daddy in order to destroy the family nucleus

-          championing illegal immigrants as “undocumented/paperless Americans” instead of American workers

-          fighting for criminals, not for the victims

-          indoctrinating our children into the enslaving tenets of Marxism and the religion of environmentalism/Gaia

-          erasing any symbol of Christianity in our public life and promoting Islam to our young and impressionable children

-          destroying any symbols of patriotism that make us exceptional Americans

-          deconstructing historical truth to suit the progressive agenda

The definition of capitalism does not include corporatism, the destruction of the free market , regulating everything, enabling the creation of corporate monopolies through special crony grants and rules, and concentrating power in a strangling and authoritarian central government who no longer answers to the people.

This administration is creating two Americas, one that works and one that does not work but votes for entitlements they have not earned. The plan is to reduce income inequality by debasing and punishing the successful through the forced redistribution of their wealth and income.

My Trip to Obama-Mart

Yesterday was an interesting excursion into the future of our new country. As many liberals have told me, the earth is still spinning and I need to grow up, the people have spoken, and they are in control now. Even in victory, Democrats are unhappy; they must completely squash the opposition. I cannot help but think of California, a one-party state ruled by liberals, what will happen to this once prosperous secular state.

We had gone grocery shopping and decided to walk over to the newly renovated Wal-Mart, bustling with shoppers of any nationality possible, most speaking their native tongues in a cacophony of foreign sounds. The first encounter was the two large posters on the front door, telling customers the shopping days for SNAP.

We felt out of place, alien, and dirty, as if this was not our country anymore. The few black and white people who spoke English were “rara avis.”

A lady was walking around with her belly hanging out, proudly announcing to the world that she was very pregnant. Grotesquely fat people with overladen carts with food were moseying around the isles. I never understood how Americans claim they are so poor and exploited yet they eat the most, as exemplified by their girth. Other nations spend a large percentage of their incomes to buy food, yet we shout that we are poor. Maybe this is an expression of what we now do in this country, accepting the lowest denominator as the norm – no more American exceptionalism.

Liberals told us that things are going to be great now that they rule the new country. We are going to have expensive “free healthcare,” higher taxes, more spending, less military, leaving us more vulnerable and less respected in the world, but, we are going to be just like everyone else, mediocre and dependent on government.

The future is not about “bringing people up;” it is about lowering the bar because the bar was unfairly set too high. We are the American Union, soon to catch up with the European Union. We are all Europeans now, excited at the prospect of total socialism. Why should someone who worked hard their entire lives, made right decisions, and saved, should have more than someone who self-indulged on drugs all the time, did not show up for work, but kept having babies out of wedlock? We have to spread the wealth, willingly or by executive fiat.

On a busy Saturday afternoon, brand new banks of cash registers were empty while the available ones had long lines of impatient people. Could it be incompetence or the fact that Wal-Mart is cutting down employees in order to avoid the expensive compliance with Obamacare?

One lady, frustrated by the long wait in the fast checkout lane, was shouting to the ceiling, I presume to the cameras, “It’s idiots like us who have to pay.” In a disjointed speech, she continued, “Six men own 40 percent of the wealth, we should all storm and take it. Management, come to the cash register! My time is valuable too.” She explained to the entire line that she could not shop at the union-owned grocery stores because prices were too high. She did not need the bulk of Costco either. Following her logic, she should have been happy with Wal-Mart – their low prices have allowed many American families to buy their food and necessities while leaving disposable income for other expenses. It is not Wal-Mart’s fault that both Republican and Democrat Congressmen de-industrialized America by approving NAFTA, GATT, WTO, allowing free trade with China, and resulting in multinational corporations moving their factories overseas, firing workers, and destroying millions of manufacturing jobs in the process. The spectacle I was witnessing was a sad expression of the dumbed down electorate who are changing the face of America for the worst.

The opportunity cost of standing in this line at Wal-Mart was higher than what I was shopping for but I was learning a valuable lesson. I am not sure most people would understand or care what opportunity cost is. We live in one of the most educated areas in the country yet this is the result of our dumbed down educational system. Nobody wants to work $12 an hour jobs so they hire foreigners who do not speak English.

Our paper currency claims proudly, “In God We Trust.” Is this still the case? Are we still running the new country on Christian principles or are we now running it on secularism and statism, the new SS? Are atheism and mother Earth our new gods? If we held a referendum today and there was no voter fraud, would God and Christianity win? Are we still a Judeo-Christian nation?

Did we peak as a nation before 9/11? Did Osama bin Laden succeed in taking us down? Do we now worship the god of “self,” whatever is best for me and makes me feel good is my new god?

If Democrats get enough rope, they will hang themselves with it and I think, we should let it happen. It will be painful for us and the rest of the world.

Do the “evil rich” need to be taught a lesson in sharing by the Democrat largesse? History will tell. To mirror the recent special, “The Men Who Built America,” our children and grandchildren may watch a special years from now on the history channel, “2030 – The Men Who Destroyed America” – Woodrow Wilson, FDR, bankers, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Richard Nixon, Treasury Secretaries, some recent Presidents, the Supreme Court, and the Federal Reserve may feature prominently.
