Loss of Sovereignty Disguised as Compassion

"There are seven things that will destroy us: wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, religion without sacrifice, politics without principle, science without humanity, business without ethics." - Mahatma Gandhi

A Kauai man was sentenced to one year probation and a $200 fine on May 29, 2014 for letting his 8 year old son walk one mile home as punishment for getting in trouble at school. I wondered what the progressive courts would do to American parents who would allow their minor children to trek unaccompanied across Mexico, hanging on trains, on buses, walking with a coyote, in order to arrive in a more prosperous country where welfare and economic security would await them through the generosity of a president who decided to nullify the southern border? Social services and progressives don’t seem to have any words of criticism for such neglectful parenting. On the contrary, they are praising their courage.  I would not exactly call this type of parental abuse courage.

Nancy Pelosi assured the crowd gathered at the southern border that U.S. and Mexico are one nation, “a community with a border going through it.” When Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House in 2007, she made sure all funding for the 2006 Secure Fence Act ceased. Charles Krauthammer made a good point that, if a border fence is not really effective, why is there still a fence around the White House? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Fence_Act_of_2006

Compassion, it is so easy to be compassionate with other people’s money! Compassion is a human “feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate suffering.” What’s $4 billion when we are such a rich country and already in insurmountable debt? Yes, it’s true, charity begins at home but, we are told, nobody in the U.S. is suffering. These tattooed young men and women with 4-5 kids in tow are special economic victims that must be treated with compassion.

We don’t seem to have concern for the millions of Americans who are currently suffering in our own country. We don’t have pity, empathy, and the money to treat the elderly properly. We don’t have care and mercy for our sick veterans whom  we treat with indifference and cruelty.

But we have selective compassion and humanity for the fellow human beings from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. After all, they are allegedly poor victims and United Nations wants to give them refugee status. They are refugees from their own mismanaged and corrupt governments whom they put in power time after time because they believe bigger governments are good. These shady governments are so crafty at what they do that they enrich themselves at the public socialist trough while keeping their citizens impoverished and suffering economic hardships.

Is it compassionate to sneak foreign children and adults with active and incurable tuberculosis among unsuspecting American communities? Is it humane to infect healthy populations with measles, Chagas disease, lice, scabies, incurable TB, STDs, swine flu, rubella, and pneumonic plague? Diseases are not selective, they do not distinguish between liberals and conservatives, rich and poor, they are equal opportunistic contagions.

Is it tolerant and merciful to release MS-13 gang members, rapists, murderers and drug dealers among our U.S. population while denying entry to white, healthy, and educated Europeans, even shackling them in maximum security prisons?

Is it compassionate to allow disease, crime (human trafficking, drug smuggling, gangs, murder, property theft and destruction), and Islamic terrorists enter our country unchecked?

Is it kind to steal from one group of people and give to the invading hordes from foreign countries who are not really fleeing a war zone? Is it compassionate to force our own citizens to work hard to pay taxes and then give this money away to illegals who have broken the laws of our country?

The Soviets must have been received with compassion when they relocated Russians into the countries they had occupied! In this vein, we are compassionately populating the country with poor and government-dependent illegal immigrants who broke our laws and who will vote for Democrat fossils and a much larger government to care for the poor and unskilled, forever altering our collective future.

Do we even have a country anymore since the southern border is wide open to anyone except white Europeans? As one of our Founding Fathers said, “A country without borders is no longer a country.” Is being poor, destitute, and illiterate now the most important requirement for American citizenship?

Do “asylum seekers” no longer need to assimilate or know anything about our country’s history, culture, and language?  Aren’t “asylum seekers” supposed to be returned to the country where they first touched soil, in this case, Mexico?  Is the extended hand to accept welfare and the know-how to get it faster the new reality in America? What happens in this socialist utopia when we run out of other people’s money and the ants refuse to work to support the invading crickets?

It is compassionate to help feed and house temporarily people in need. Is it compassionate to create chaos in our country, bring in third world problems into our communities, invite in any criminal elements who hate America and endanger our safety, overwhelm the police, destroy our school system, exacerbate the overburdened welfare system, inflate the unemployment rolls, increase our national debt, and destroy our children’s future?

"Demographic Suicide" and "Ethnic Replacement"

Europeans have been committing “demographic suicide” for decades because of low birth rates. Author George Weigel described how Europe is committing “demographic suicide” - it failed to “create the human future in the most elemental sense, by creating a next generation.” http://eppc.org/publications/christophobia-afflicts-europe/

Most western European nations produce less than the necessary replacement value of 2.1 children per family for many reasons: birth control, abortion, unproductive and unemployed young people who live longer in their parents’ homes, careers, exploring and following immoral and perverted lifestyles, selfish choices, and occupations that do not require a large family to support the farm. The solution has been to import immigrants to fill the demographic and employment needs.

Neagu Djuvara finds fault with the lack of ideals, morality and blatant debauchery among civilized society, especially young people. Europeans and Americans alike lack ambitions, he said, and have stopped having children. The West has thus created a vacuum which third world counties are more than happy to fill.

Immigration with a plentiful birthrate was aided by generous welfare programs in nations like Sweden, Finland, Norway, U.K., France, Belgium, Denmark, and the creation of ghettos where immigrants reject integration, creating sub-cultures that clash with western civilization in every way.

Refusing to learn the language, the immigrants promise the destruction of the very country they occupy. As they receive welfare and free housing, they vow to remake Europe into a new world order Caliphate.

Bruce Bawer aptly named his book, “While Europe Slept,” describing the Muslim takeover of many European countries enabled by appeasement, self-censorship disguised as political correctness, apologies, and bans on “Islamophobia.”

The “guest workers,” “refugees,” “asylum seekers,” or “family reunification” claimants deliberately destroy their papers en route to the country of destination, knowing that they would evade detection if they were terrorists sought by Interpol. They come from very poor, remote villages, and are highly hostile to Western values and history, and are not likely to accept Western cultures.

The “refugees” are illiterate, dishonest, corrupt, fecund, and adept at taking advantage of the generous welfare system: unemployment, public assistance, relief payments, child payments, disability, cash support, and rent allowance.

In Nordic countries, social security is based on the honor system. Do these claimants understand the word “honor” when Islamic law advises them to abuse the infidels’ system, “to cheat and lie to the countries that harbor them?” Furthermore, the monetary benefits are considered “jizya,” a tribute that infidels in Muslim-controlled countries must pay in order to stay alive.

Djuvara thinks that the biggest crime against Western Europe was the opening of the floodgates to unchecked immigration for labor reasons or political correctness encouraged by the liberal philosophy of multiculturalism.

The “asylum seekers” were encouraged to segregate, to alienate themselves by not learning the language of the country that gave them asylum, and to rely on welfare. Djuvara believes that these “barbarian hordes” will transform “civilized and prosperous Christian Europe of today into Euro-Indo-Arabia of tomorrow.”

Niall Ferguson encapsulated very succinctly the fate of Europe, “A youthful Muslim society to the south and east of the Mediterranean is poised to colonize a senescent Europe to the north and west.” A popular t-shirt among young Muslims in Sweden says, “2030 – then we take over.”

France and Germany admitted publicly through former President Nikolas Sarkozy and Chancellor Angela Merkel that multiculturalism has failed miserably in their countries, socially, economically, and politically, and it is not sustainable. “The hostility of young minority men toward authority across communities in Europe” has escalated, the deep-seated antipathy leading to frequent and deadly violence.

According to statistics, our illegal alien problem places tremendous burdens on the economy:

-          400,000 illegal women give birth annually to anchor babies who become automatic U.S. citizens

-          All illegals must be cared for medically and educationally at tremendous cost to society

-          Most illegals are almost immediately placed on all forms of welfare

-          Illegals vote, altering our society fundamentally, without understanding our history and culture

-          Communicable diseases that illegals bring in pose a serious threat to the health and safety of Americans

-          Gang violence and criminality is expressed in the statistics that one in every four inmates in federal prison is an illegal (GAO)

-          50-60 percent of illegal immigrants are high school dropouts (Heritage Foundation)

Americans are “progressing” nicely with forced amnesty policies, i.e. the opening of the floodgates of illegals on the southern border under the guise of a manufactured “humanitarian crisis,” essentially nullifying American sovereignty.

Michael Savage is of the opinion that the regime is conducting a “Malthusian war” against American citizens in the form of “ethnic replacement of the dominant European whites with a more malleable, fertile Latin American population” from failed socialist nations.

Strongly anti-American and pro big government, the young and fecund Central American youth who are now bussed or flown via Mexico illegally all over America (70 percent are males between the ages of 14-17), are going to fill the gap of the declining white and black American fertility rates. In doing so, the character of America will be forever altered and La Raza’s Reconquista will be complete.

The young and fertile mothers with 4-5 children in tow who are pouring in through the southern border will become wards of the federal government welfare system immediately. The communicable diseases which they carry are likely to spread to those who come in contact with them.

Thanks to Planned Parenthood and abortion now easily obtained at no cost through Obamacare, the replacement value of demographics in America is likely to fall below the 2.1 children per family necessary to maintain the current American population.

America will survive demographically, but the predominant white European ancestry will be replaced by a Central American ethnicity with no ties or allegiance to America that was created 238 years ago.

The New American Dream: A Tiny Home

The stairwell we climbed to our 5th floor apartment
every day, app. 400 sq. feet
The UN Commission on Global Governance reported in 1995, “The concept of national sovereignty has been immutable, indeed a sacred principle of international relations. It is a principle which will yield slowly and reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation.” (United Nations, Our Global Neighborhood, The Commission on Global Governance, 1995, Oxford University Press)

It seems that our national sovereignty is yielding quite fast on the southern border without Congressional input, under the guise of a socially engineered humanitarian crisis. They could not erase national sovereignty fast enough in the name of “environmental cooperation.”

The progressives’ social engineering projects implemented around the world are not limited to just destroying national sovereignty, language, and cultural identity. Those who grew up under communism are familiar with the Soviet style, mass movement of entire villages to high density urban areas.

Social engineers had decided that land was better used in co-operative farms owned by the communist government. Private homes located on farm land were bulldozed and people were moved into densely populated cities with grey concrete apartments of 400-500 square feet, mushrooming practically overnight. They could not build them fast enough. Often it necessitated moving two families into a 600 square feet apartment, sharing the kitchen and the bathroom.

The Chinese have embarked on large scale social engineering over the next ten years, in their quest to move 250 million people from rural areas into high rise, high density newly built ghost cities that are currently uninhabited; few citizens have purchased the tiny apartments and few stores leased the bottom floor spaces.

“The government, often by fiat, is replacing small rural homes with high-rises, paving over vast swaths of farmland and drastically altering the lives of rural dwellers. So large is the scale that the number of brand-new Chinese city dwellers will approach the total urban population of the United States — in a country already bursting with megacities.” http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/16/world/asia/chinas-great-uprooting-moving-250-million-into-cities.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

In this country, city planners who oppose urban sprawl and begrudge the average 2,300 square foot homes as environmental destroyers of the planet, have designed and built living units of 140-200 square feet, called aPodments in Sammamish, Washington. Resident Judy Green “shares the kitchen with seven other tenants on the second floor.” To get to her loft cubicle, she must climb six flights of stairs. Because of non-existent global warming, cars and elevators are not allowed. The “micro-units” are smaller than a hotel room and rent for $600-900 per month. I checked with my favorite hotel chain - their average hotel room is 375 square feet. The average jail cell is 6 feet by 8 feet. http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Tiny-aPodments-causing-big-controversy-in-Seattle--224002631.html

The “eco-progressives” use local government zoning to impose their ideas of “sustainable urbanism,” “sustainable communities,” and “equitable communities,” by changing the counties’ desired low density character and scale to high-density crime-ridden slums.

In Fairfax County, Virginia, the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission are crafting a plan to place Lilliputian slum dwellings in every area of the county. The Residential Studio Units (RSUs) will have a total surface of 220-320 square feet. Each high-rise will contain 75 such units and one parking space per unit. Locals object to the plan because it will reduce property values, change neighborhoods, increase population density, exacerbate the existing traffic congestion, and increase crime under the guise of “affordable housing” for the poor, low wage workers, and “diversity.”

“Social engineering is on the verge of being imposed on entire neighborhoods,” said Rush Limbaugh in a brilliant tirade. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will dismantle local zoning and force people to move into certain areas in order to achieve what they consider “racial, economic, and ethnic diversity.” This is “nationalizing neighborhoods” on a grand scale for our “own good and to achieve utopia.” By obliterating zoning regulations, we will have neighborhoods by government quota. (Rush Limbaugh EIB monologue, September 12, 2013)

Reality television is now indoctrinating Americans into accepting the idea of micro-dwellings with the July 2014 debut of “Tiny House Nation” on the FYI channel. According to their website,  “renovation experts and hosts, John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin, travel across America to show off ingenious small spaces and the inventive people who live in them, as well as help new families design and construct their own mini-dream home in a space no larger than 500 square feet. From a micro-apartment in New York City to a caboose car turned home in Montana to a micro-sized mobile home for road tripping – this is a series that celebrates the exploding movement of tiny homes.” http://www.fyi.tv/shows/tiny-house-nation/about/season-1

Perhaps “extreme downsizing” is the dream of retired people or the reality of young Americans who live with several roommates or in the basement of their parents because they cannot afford to buy a normal home on low wages driven by a mismanaged economy. What I do know for sure, this not an “exploding movement of tiny homes” and it has nothing to do with “financial independence.” Most Americans have never heard of such tiny dwellings, love their spacious homes, and are not remotely aware that they are an intricate part of a larger plan of social engineering people off the land, out of suburbia, and into inner cities. It is certainly not the new American dream; it is the new forced reality as envisioned and carefully planned by the elite’s UN Agenda 21.

Has anyone seen any influential people, CEOs, wealthy people, politicians, actors, Hollywood producers, radio and TV mouth pieces, lobbyists, corporatists, crony capitalists, who advocate that we live in spaces slightly larger than a jail cell and drive tin cans, give up their large mansions and multiple homes around the world, their jets and yachts?

It's Good for the Soul to Go Back Home Again

My office desk for 20 years
Is it true that you cannot go back home again and find the reality you remembered or created in your mind as a child or as a young adult? Would you be disappointed? I have embarked twice on such a journey, most recently on Easter Sunday 2014. I wanted to find the town and life I left behind six years ago in Columbus.

As I drove through the streets, it seemed like time stood still. A few stores were shuttered or demolished and new restaurants built. Some very wealthy local families who owned prime commercial real estate have controlled the building on the main thoroughfare, hwy. 45, for such a long time, I did not think many national chains would ever be able to come to an area where prime commercial land is not sold but leased, and those leasing must build on land that is not theirs.

The roads appeared more decrepit, pot holes rattled my rental car; the bad economy of the last seven years had caught up with the tax base from the federal and state government that maintained the city. My old street was empty, with a couple of “For sale” signs, cheered by a balmy sunny day and chirping birds. Our old house, although inhabited, was overwhelmed by weeds and kudzu. Long gone were my beautiful flowers, my rose bushes, azaleas, and well-manicured lawn. Renters never take good care of someone else’s property. I can still hear the laughter of my girls running up and down the stairs, playing outside, building their first and only snowman, and riding bikes up and down the steep incline.

Located not far from our house, the university campus was deserted, save for the gate guard who waved me on through with a smile. The trees that escaped the frequent tornadoes were in full bloom, shading the ground with luscious and vibrant green leaves.  For twenty years I made the five minute drive from home to this bastion of academic liberalism. It was a job that kept my family fed and sheltered. After a while, the feelings of alienation and loneliness subsided, replaced by my life-long curiosity and love of discovery which I imparted to my eager-to-learn students.

As a conservative who loathed liberalism, my students made life at work a lot more bearable. I never adjusted to the asinine weekly and very wasteful meetings during which times, the favorite liberals of the administration heard themselves talk nonsense for an average of one hour every week. I tried to make mental notes of the meetings that could have been dispatched with a one-paragraph email. Then I made lesson plans or graded papers.

It was hard to take these people seriously who forced the faculty and students to listen to an imam extol the virtues of Islam and of their respect for women. It was hard to ignore some of the faculty who had serious drinking problems, serious psychological episodes, or disturbing psychotic outbursts. The darling of academia was the teacher who pretended to be sick, walking around with a cancer chemo pump for weeks at a time in order to gain sympathy from the rest of her liberal cohorts.

I walked around the campus and stopped at the water fountain where my husband proposed on a romantic evening.  The soothing water waves sparkled like a huge aquamarine. A few cool droplets sprayed my face. I sat on the fountain’s edge for a while, taking in the greenery and the gazebo where I sat reading often between classes. Although dignified, it looked like it needed a fresh coat of paint.

Perhaps it was the intense sun but tears filled my eyes retracing memories of years past. This university that stood for little that I believed in was my home away from home, taking me away from my children, while I mentored someone else’s liberal children. The resentment still aches in a corner of my heart.

Chef Fidel’s fragrant garden is gone, replaced by carefully arranged, color-coded flowers. I left with a feeling of relief, giving the huge magnolia on the corner one last look. It’s the oldest tree on campus that survived the test of time and hurricanes. My footsteps still echo in its generous shade where I often graded papers and day dreamed after my walks with Maribel.

Driving down the street, I spied my daughter’s old college days apartment building. Bogart walked a few times on the window ledges, escaping her apartment and meowing to get attention and gain access into someone else’s apartment through the closed windows.

On the corner of Main Street, a restaurant was filled to capacity and laughter was spilling out the door. Church goers in their colorful Sunday Easter best were lunching on Southern fare while a local Jazz musician was entertaining them with his saxophone.

I remembered this building from the early 1980s when it was the most elegant dress shop in town called Ruth’s Department Store. The three stories catered to the most sophisticated ladies in town and the basement dressed their babies. From furs, to shoes, to hats, fine jewelry, purses, wedding dresses, and ballroom gowns, southern ladies were well catered to and elegantly attired. A preacher’s wife, a Ruth’s frequent customer, bought a new and flamboyant hat each week of the year. While shopping, ladies sipped on sodas or champagne.

Mimi still remembers the horror of riding up alone in the elevator to the third floor, frightened by the army of mannequins when the doors opened. She never forgot the moment when the doors closed too fast and I had to let go of her hand or else our arms would have gotten crushed in the old style lift. It was so long ago but it seems like yesterday.

The streets are so empty that you can hear the buzzing of bees. The welcoming silence is broken occasionally by a passing car. I am far, far away from northern Virginia, an area suffocated by overcrowded humanity. But I no longer belong here, I want to go home.

The Tragedy of the Regime's Social Engineering

It is so sad to watch Latin American children used as human props for political gain by our government, intent on forcing America into a third world status and more diversification.

It is even sadder to see that so many parents were so deluded and irresponsible that they sent their children in the company of coyotes who, for a fee, dropped them at the border, to be then bused and flown by our government to locations around the country.  In transit these children were potentially abused and sexually molested.

Our own border patrol officers and doctors, under the threat of being fired, have to play nannies and babysitters to so many children who have been sent alone across the entire country of Mexico.

The illegal immigrant children are released in a hurry to individuals whose citizenship status is not checked, who are no doubt illegals themselves and will not show up for court hearings. Why the hurry and cloak and dagger atmosphere to process these children and place them so quickly when some of the diseases they carry take time to test in a lab and identify medically?

The United Nation is seeking refugee status for illegal immigrants, a term used for individuals fleeing a war-torn country. There is no war in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. There is poverty and there are violent drug cartels, a glaring evidence of these countries’ lack of leadership. Is the United States now responsible for the world’s impoverished children?

We used to quarantine legal immigrants at Ellis Island to make sure that the health and safety of Americans were protected. Under the new world order, the local population no longer matters, the illegal immigrant, a vector for disease, is now more important and can come and go as they please, so long as they are not white Europeans.

A case in point is Oleksandra Bronova, a Ukrainian citizen, neither Mexican nor Central American, married to an American, former Marine Bryan Price. She speaks English, is a Cambridge graduate who speaks five languages, and has no criminal record. Unlike the majority crossing the border via Juarez who have criminal records and provide fake family histories, Bronova fled her war torn Ukraine, seeking asylum in the United States with her husband while awaiting visa proceedings. They attempted to cross our southern border with a visitors permit and were stopped by border patrol agents.

“While the Obama regime is rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens as they cross our border, one woman found herself thrown in a high security prison.” She was arrested and thrown, shackled and chained, in the Otero Country prison while notorious MS-13 gang members have been allowed to enter the United States under the idiotic guise of fleeing drug cartel and gang violence.

“KFOX14 has inquired with federal agents why Central American illegal aliens, many with criminal histories, were being granted entrance, while someone with no criminal history has been thrown into a maximum security prison. The feds demanded a privacy waiver from Bronova before answering. Although the news station secured the privacy waiver, federal officials have still not responded to the question.” http://www.tpnn.com/2014/07/05/video-ms-13-gang-members-allowed-into-u-s-but-wife-of-marine-veteran-thrown-in-prison/

It is sad to see that law, order, and our borders have been erased by the social engineering of the current regime who wants to alter the demographics of areas they deem too conservative.

It is sad to see how the Democrat political agenda trumps the safety of our country and of our citizens who are now haplessly exposed to diseases and parasites they’ve only read or heard about in textbooks. Americans and their children will now be exposed to lice, scabies, TB, Ebola, Chagas disease, STDs, hepatitis, measles, chicken pox, whopping cough, and other childhood diseases carried by innocent and unvaccinated children from Central America.

To illustrate how serious this is, every available panel in the malls around Washington, D.C., are occupied with ads urging people in both Spanish and English to vaccinate their children against childhood diseases formerly eradicated in this country.  And these expensive ads are not aimed at just a small segment of the American parents influenced by Hollywood propaganda who refuse to vaccinate their children because they are convinced vaccines cause autism.

According to the husband and wife callers, Ed and Ann, on the Rush Limbaugh show, our federal government has asked the Catholic Church in southern California, under a hush request, to house these illegal immigrant moms and their children in parishioners’’ homes thus putting their health at serious risk. Because we are a caring and generous nation, 70 percent of the congregations agreed. Apparently, the bishop of the Archdiocese of San Bernardino ordered the parish priest to absorb these illegal aliens.

Rumor has it that illegal alien children may be or have already been relocated to Prince William County fairgrounds in Virginia and citizens are terribly upset because the regime is putting our children in danger. http://virginiavirtucon.wordpress.com/2014/07/08/rumor-feds-may-relocate-illegal-aliens-to-prince-william-co-fairgrounds/

Congressman Phil Gingrey of Georgia, a medical doctor, accuses our government of creating a “severe and dangerous” crisis by housing around the country Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) who lack basic vaccinations. Pictures that have been leaked out by whistleblowers show horrendous infestations of lice, scabies, measles, and chicken pox.

Congressman Gingrey sent a letter to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) demanding to know how the agency is planning to handle the public health crisis caused by the flood of minors. He said, “As the unaccompanied children continue to be transported to shelters around the country on commercial airlines and other forms of transportation, I have serious concerns that the diseases carried by these children may begin to spread too rapidly to control.  In fact, as you undoubtedly know, some of these diseases have no known cure.”

Judicial Watch found in an internal agency report that “the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is forcing Border Patrol agents to serve as babysitters for the UACs.” These are officers tasked to prevent terrorists and weapons of mass destruction from entering the U.S. but are now “responsible for feeding, monitoring, interacting and providing security’ for illegal alien minors until they are placed elsewhere.”

The CDC has activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Congressman Gingrey wrote, “I firmly believe the public deserves to know the specific actions the EOC and other departments of the CDC are taking to combat and prevent the spread of communicable diseases.”  A serious health threat is covered up, “the amount of tuberculosis is astonishing.” http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2014/07/illegal-alien-minors-spreading-tb-ebola-dengue-swine-flu/

Agent Ron Zermeno, health and safety director of the National Border Patrol Council Local 1613 received a letter from Kathleen Scudder, assistant chief patrol agent of the San Diego Sector, which discloses the investigation into his conduct of issuing press releases ‘without proper authorization.’

In spite of the cease-and-desist letter, Zermeno feels that it is his duty to protect the public and tell the truth even though he may lose his job. He said, “As a union officer, I feel it’s my job to expose when management is putting people at risk. They violated their oath as Border Patrol agents.” Three agents at the Brown Field Border Patrol Station contracted scabies during processing illegal immigrants from Texas. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/382218/border-patrol-tells-agent-you-must-cease-and-desist-speaking-media-ryan-lovelace

Making immigration law irrelevant and the borders disappear, while flooding the country with illegal minors infected with communicable diseases that pose a serious threat to our nation, is outrageous to all law-abiding Americans. I wonder what the four million legal immigrants think, who have been waiting for the resolution of their cases to come to the United States for years. They have filled out the proper paperwork, filed the documents, paid the fees, provided proof that they can support themselves financially and not be a burden to the U.S. government, and provided the clean bill of health documents required for legal immigration.

Smart Meters and Shopping

Samples of Smart Meters
I went shopping today for a pair of pants. I was hoping it would only take a few minutes. How difficult could that be in the land of plenty? As I entered the large department store, I was greeted by stifling heat and humidity. This particular department store chain uses smart meters, cycled and controlled by the power company from a remote location in order to “save” them money. Customers and employees suffer because a small group of elites have managed to convince and bribe bureaucrats and politicians into pushing the agenda of non-existent global warming.

Driving to the mall, I rolled my eyes as the radio announced that today is an all-day power cycling for those with smart meters who have signed up to reduce their electricity cost. This means no air conditioning when it’s 100 plus degrees Fahrenheit with the heat index.

Those who think they are saving electricity and suffer in the hot days of summer and cold days of winter to “save the planet” from some apocalyptic disaster are actually charged higher rates compared to those who use more electricity. Credulous individuals who have bought the global warming nonsense and Gaia worship are actually helping power companies. Utilities don’t have to buy or build facilities to store excess power during times of peak usage. It is all about making money, not about saving the planet.

The associates, a fancy euphemism for a salesperson, were milling about hot and sweaty, seemingly in a state of melting, totally uninterested in helping me. I made eye contact with several people, and nobody offered to help. Why would they? They are paid a basic salary whether they try very hard or not at all. It reminded me of the communist workers’ motto, “We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us.”

Salespeople in this area of northern Virginia are mostly foreigners who have immigrated to the United States, legally or illegally, for the opportunity of a better life. Sadly though, they’ve brought with them the customs and work ethic of their former third world dictatorships they’ve escaped. They are content with mall wages (previously the place for summer jobs of college students) because, by any comparison with their countries, working conditions and the hourly pay are far superior. Many of them qualify for and receive welfare and Obamacare subsidies and are none too shy to apply and accept them. If the crazy Gringos are passing out leaflets in Spanish teaching them how to do it, why not take advantage of free money?

I finally found someone who relented to help me but she was struggling with the cash register and the simple mathematical calculation. By now sweating profusely and feeling sorry for the frustrated salesclerk, I gave up and left without purchasing anything. I was in terrible need of a cold glass of water.

In a different department store where employees speak English well, are polite and eager to help because they are paid on commission, I am greeted friendly as soon as I set foot in the door and a sales associate guides me in the right direction immediately. The store is comfortably cool.

It is the difference between night and day, between a business run on the capitalist model and a business run and staffed on the socialist model where nobody cares if customers are helped, merchandise is snagged from your hands if you do not make up your mind quickly, and clothes cannot be tried on or returned for hygienic and sanitary reasons.

I understand the sanitary part. It may not be such a bad idea since we live in an area with a high population of illegal immigrants who were not checked for communicable diseases like scabies and parasites like lice and bed bugs when they invaded our border.
