Khrushchev's Communist Propaganda Lives on In the Democrat Party Today

Nikita Khrushchev in 1963

“You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright, but we'll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won't have to fight you. We'll so weaken your economy until you'll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.” – Nikita Khrushchev

There was a time, sixty years ago to be exact, when people recognized communism as a threat to world peace, stability, and freedom. Works were published in the west that revealed communism and its dark totalitarian philosophy. Today most publishers bring to light anything liberal and progressive, singing lofty praises to socialism and communism.

Trident Press published in June 1961 a small pocketbook called Conquest Without War, “a mosaic of the words and ideas of the new force that threatens to change the way of life on this planet.” Compiled and edited by N.H. Mager and Jacques Katel, it used Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev’s own words and those of his ghost writers, words of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, and remarks and commentary made by the two editors in order to provide better understanding of the context in which Khrushchev made certain statements that outraged the world at the time but have been since forgotten in the dustbin of history.

It is crucial to unearth what was supposedly buried with the “death” of communism in 1989 as the American youth is utterly infatuated by socialism, communism, and the ideology which killed more people on the planet than many modern wars combined.

Khrushchev was never shy about stating his desire to establish world communism with the Soviet Union at its helm. Western countries did not take his rhetoric seriously at the time since the Soviet Union barely had enough resources to feed its own people adequately or pay his army well.

Soviet Bolsheviks had a vast network of spies and informers, a strong school of indoctrination, and a disarmed populace that was a very captive audience inside its vast borders, literally and figuratively, as the communist party made sure guns were confiscated for “the good of the people.”

The left in this country, represented by the Democrat Party, has accelerated its anti-gun rhetoric, determined to repeal our right to bear arms. Criminals would not exist, the left says, if only the benevolent government would be allowed to bear arms. Why would we need guns to protect ourselves when the government can do it for us?

Khrushchev’s speeches and unsolicited advice ranged from farming, how to milk cows properly, growing corn and wheat, to how to be a good Soviet, how to write novels, world affairs, harsh criticisms of world leaders, threats, communist slogans, and how communism will be victorious and rule the world under his power. He certainly passed away before he became ruler of the world, preventing more unnecessary human pain, suffering, and misery under his dictatorship of equality.

The central theme of his philosophy was “socialism v. capitalism.” How could he not be victorious over the “decadent, crumbling capitalism,” the very capitalism that has lifted the economic boats of millions of poor people in the U.S.

This theme, “socialism v. capitalism,” has been resurrected today by our domestic communists, new and old, declared communists among U.S. Congress members, socialist academics and public-school teachers, and their indoctrinated generations of students.

He believed that one man, with help from a small but trusted elite group, could control the entire life of humanity as long as the secret police, informers, and a strong army controlled everyone from cradle to grave with incentives for good behavior and harsh punishments for crimes of thought and of insubordination to his philosophy of total control of the human spirit.

Khrushchev died before his dream became reality – he never got to rule the world with an iron fist. But, his philosophical followers, have chosen the global communist leader to be the United Nations with its myriad of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) spread around the globe.

Rule by the Party of One and the Party State, ideas promoted by Khrushchev and the Bolshevik ideology have become the major political drive among the U.S. population, the electorate, politicians in power, and in other western nations which strangely mirror these developments.

How did the Soviets sell socialism to the masses? The method may seem eerily familiar to you today because it is exactly how the Democrat Socialists like Bernie Sanders and AOC are trying to sell socialism to their voting base.

1.       Socialism is presented as a good, progressive, enlightened, and effective system based on equality for all. Capitalism is bad, tired, and evil.

2.       Socialists/communists “cultivate falsehoods as a deliberate weapon of policy.”

3.       The young and useful idiots alike are mesmerized by socialism even if they don’t know exactly what it is, or understand the theory of “scientific socialism,” renamed “Democrat socialism” by Bernie Sanders; it just sounds great, everything is free and who can resist free?

4.       Socialists say that economic progress is not possible under capitalism because capitalists are greedy, and they exploit millions of “working people.” Never mind that socialism has been a disaster everywhere. The Scandinavian model of generous welfare Democrats desire is based on heavy capitalist taxation of corporations and of people, it is not socialism.

5.       Khrushchev said that after the liquidation of classes, the Soviets had a “monolithic society.” That was, of course, a blatant lie. Discrimination based on ancestry was rampant. There was the proletariat, the elites, and the farmers, all neatly stacked in their own little world.

6.       The capitalist system is based on workers who are “enslaved, living in capitalist bondage,” said Khrushchev. But he then admitted that the “slaves of capitalism” lived well. Compared to how we lived under socialism, I would choose capitalism over socialism every time.

7.       Capitalist workers are exploited, Khrushchev said. During Khrushchev’s time, Soviet workers received 27 cents of what they produced while Americans received 67 cents and they produced twice as much. I call that production efficiency not exploitation. And the distribution of the national product was more egalitarian in the U.S. “Egalitarianism was actually taboo in the Soviet Union.”

8.       Unemployment was described by socialists as the “great disaster of capitalism.” The truth was, during Khrushchev’s time, the “unemployed in the U.S. received in benefits almost twice as much as the Soviet worker was paid when he was employed.” Khrushchev said that in the USSR there was no unemployment. He called it surplus workers. If the Soviets did recognize that technological unemployment existed, they would have had to recognize that there were other categories of unemployment.

9.       Khrushchev warned those who did not work. “An able-bodied person who does not work steals from those who work, that is, lives at the expense of those who create material or spiritual values. An atmosphere must be created in which those who despise work are not tolerated. Every person who lives in a communist society must make a contribution by his or her labor toward the building and further development of that society.”

10.   Socialist women were emancipated, Khrushchev said. Yet they worked much harder than other women and at back-breaking work in factories, side by side with men.

11.   Eventually socialism will turn into communism when people will receive “to each according to his needs.” Translation – everyone will work according to his abilities and be rewarded according to his needs. Who will get to decide? The communist party elites. One thing is sure, nobody will be idle, everyone will toil for collectivism. Will there be enough wealth to satisfy all needs in whatever distribution scheme the elites arrange? Probably not, rationing will have to take place. But they say, there will be no more “want” of anything under socialism/communism. Really?

12.   When no more “wants” exist, the population will be entirely happy and satisfied and the police state will have to disappear. Will it? And then “the citizens will manage the nation.” Will they manage the nation, or will chaos descend?

The reality was that the Soviet Union, a super-welfare socialist state, with all its socialist satellites, had to be maintained by intense propaganda, an army of security police, regular police, economic police, informers, communist party apparatchiks, closed borders with mine fields and barbed wire to keep people prisoners within, armed security guards told to shoot if anyone tried to escape, propagandists at work, in schools, in the mass media, and enforcers who followed “lucky” travelers abroad very closely. All these armed to their teeth guardians of socialism kept a tight reign on the disarmed, afraid, and barely fed population. A dog kept on a chain all the time and partially fed has no choice but to appear loyal to his master.

Socialism was just boastful and meaningless semantic propaganda, cleverly worded and designed to keep a tight totalitarian reign on a scared and demoralized populace that realized too late that the rose-colored lies they were promised were just too good to be true.

If Socialism and Communism Are Great, Why 100 Million Victims and So Many Freedom Fighters

The mainstream media outlets inform us, reading from the daily Democrat Party briefings, that 7 in 10 Millennials are burning to vote Socialist even though they are not sure what Socialism is and 1 in 3 Millennials think Communism is great even though they’ve heard nothing about the millions of victims of communism around the world, many buried in mass graves which are still being discovered.

It is clear to those of us who escaped communism that Millennials and their assorted fellow travellers have been asleep in history classes or were reading the radical Howard Zinn’s “nuanced” social justice history book from the 1980 which is widely used in America’s schools.

Rostislav, who escaped Soviet oppression, said the following regarding the Millennials and the low information voters. “I remember a really heroic story which was secretly told to me in Arctic Siberia by Moldovan exiles. It was about Toma Arnautu group of simple peasants, who had more than enough ‘high-information’ to fight against Communists ten long years from their wild hideout deep in the mountains, until some greedy ‘compatriot’ sold them out to be tortured and shot by the Securitate henchmen. So, what I’d like to say? I’d like to say that, whatever any modern voters for theoretical Socialism may say, I don't care about their cheap reasons and justifications: I do know the horrible practices of their precious theories only too well. Hence the memory of great freedom fighters like Toma Arnautu is always helping me to be true to our mutual ideals of freedom.”

The anticommunist resistance in Romania was a popular uprising against the communist dictatorship and the Soviet occupation; it started in Bucovina in 1944 when the Soviet Red Army invaded North Bucovina and lasted through the very repressive Ceausescu years of the 1980s.

The first act of resistance against the Bolsheviks was organized by the Romanian monarchy itself which established a special battalion in Bucovina to fight against the Soviet invasion. Armed partisans organized as well shortly thereafter. After the partisan support ended in 1946 the partisans took to the mountains and organized a resistance there where it was harder to track and capture them. But the traitors among them enabled the communists to take control in the 1950s of most of those who mounted an armed opposition to communism and executed the leaders and the followers.

When the Russians “liberated” Romania, they robbed and disorganized the country. I remember grandpa telling me that the Russian liberators of their village stole everything that was not nailed down. He had a precious mantel clock stolen; the Russian soldier hung it with a chain around his neck as he was departing.

The two hundred or more Russian communist community organizers, who spoke broken Romanian, appeared overnight and fanned out around the country to spread anarchy and to install people to power who were foreign and did not care about the laws of the country, they only cared about the spread of their ideology – communism. https://despredemnitate.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/cicerone-ionitoiu-rezistenta-anticomunista.pdf

Records released after 1989 show that the resisting armed partisans called themselves “haiduci,” causing disruptions to the Communist Party dictatorship. Dispersed but ever-present around the Carpathian Mountains, they caused constant headaches for the communists who presented said “haiduci” as ordinary isolated thieves in the employ of the evil capitalists.

Any “structural opposition of the cultural and intellectual elites” was eliminated with the help of the Security forces and the Soviet agents working in Romania. The state, with centralized power in the hands of uneducated and ignorant Communist Party apparatchiks, was in shambles due to the inability of the communists to plan for a successful economic outcome. The extraordinary numbers of informers among the population propped up the pillaging communists who remained in power through coercion, fear, and population starvation.

The intensive surveillance, repression, and oppression started with Teohari Georgescu, “the head of the Ministry of the Interior between 1948 and 1952. That period was a stage of adjustment of the Securitate’s leaders to the staff policy of the newly created institution.” Georgescu’s Securitate goons became the weaponized arm of the Communist Party. He used the Securitate police forces to maintain the power and control of the Communist Party and of the oppressive state. http://www.cnsas.ro/documente/caiete/Caiete_CNSAS_nr_7-8_2011.pdf

There is a long list of doctors, engineers, teachers, priests, lawyers, painters, farmers, even socialists themselves who were deemed not socialist enough, and other professionals who were executed by communists because they dissented and refused to be oppressed by the Russian Bolsheviks and their new communist recruits in Romania. http://www.procesulcomunismului.com/marturii/fonduri/ioanitoiu/morminte2/docs/morminte2p_7.htm

Cicerone Ionitoiu wrote, “For 12 years (1946-1958) anti-communism fighters, supported by the population from the villages nearby, resisted heroically to attacks by Securitate troops. Thousands of people were involved in this fight. The population of villages at the bottom of the mountains who provided them [patriots] with food and clothing, if not executed themselves right away, filled the jails and concentration camps.” Cicerone memorialized events, names, and villages.https://despredemnitate.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/cicerone-ionitoiu-rezistenta-anticomunista.pdf

The resistors fought hard against the Soviet-aided communist theft and confiscation of property, arrests and crimes committed by Bolsheviks and their newly indoctrinated recruits. These communist crimes lasted for forty years. The Romanian people never collaborated with the dictatorship, but traitors existed who sold their families for extra food and other privileges. https://despredemnitate.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/cicerone-ionitoiu-rezistenta-anticomunista.pdf

By the time communism “fell” in 1989, few dissidents were still alive, and the former communists regrouped into a liberal class of entrepreneurs who stole funds from the former communist regime, a class of prosperous men and women with no scruples and a conscience. http://www.cnsas.ro/documente/caiete/Caiete_CNSAS_nr_7-8_2011.pdf

Executed in front of their families, thrown from church towers, or shot en masse in front of the entire village or neighborhoods in order to make an example of them and stifle any possible future resistance, these victims deserve to be remembered in a memorial dedicated to their sacrifice in the fight against communism. The victims of the communist regimes around the world over decades have grown to 100 million.  When will they have their museum and a Nuremberg-style trial to reveal the horrors of communism?

Unfortunately Millennials in America will never understand what socialism and communism are because their history textbooks gloss over that part of history and glorify murderous individuals like Che Guevara, Castro, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ceausescu, and other communist dictators who were responsible for the death of millions of dissenters to communism.

In a positive step, President Klaus Iohannis of Romania inaugurated in May 2016 a monument dedicated to the communist resistance and had it placed in front of the Free Press House, the very place formerly adorned in 1960-1990 by a huge statue of Lenin. https://cersipamantromanesc.wordpress.com/tag/securitatea-si-miscarea-anticomunista/

Socialist Brats

Woodcut entitled "The Ship of Fools"
As more high school and college students are indoctrinated by their teachers and professors into accepting socialism as the only solution to their future, the country seems to fall deeper into anomie. Anomie is “the social instability resulting from a breakdown of standards and values.”

They are so lacking in knowledge of their own country’s history that they believe what the Marxist professors and the MSM have been repeating ad nauseam, that we are a democracy when we are a constitutional republic. Lies, when repeated enough times, become reality.

Pampered by capitalist society and parents, young people, steeped in moral relativism, have become paid angry activists determined to force the rest of us into accepting their Marxist ideology.

The astonishing lies about socialism, irrational tolerance of sexual perversions, drugs, immorality, Christo-phobia, destructive multi-culturalism, self-loathing, and the overt anti-Americanism have turned them into illogical drones who cannot be ignored.

Soon they will be the majority in the country as more rational and hard-working Americans die off, replaced by their brainwashed children, grandchildren, and illegal aliens with no love in their hearts for America. When they become the majority, the country will be a totalitarian regime ruled by like-minded factions.

And it will not be Denmark, a constitutional monarchy of approximately 5 million citizens who rely on socialized generous welfare. Denmark is one of the heaviest taxed countries in the world, taxes paid by both citizens and successful capitalist corporations.

Young Americans, who demand socialism, want the Danish style welfare system, but they also call for the elimination of capitalism. If capitalism is abolished, the government will be the sole provider of all the “free stuff” they demand, without the revenue from capitalist taxation. Like all socialists who eventually go broke because the system is not viable (see Venezuela), the government will withdraw all handouts just as easily as it had given them. https://news.gallup.com/poll/257639/four-americans-embrace-form-socialism.aspx

America is a much larger country than tiny Denmark. It will be very challenging to put 330 plus million people and illegal immigrants (40 million by latest estimate) on socialist welfare at the same time and have the American government, which is trillions of dollars in national debt, pay for all the free stuff from cradle to grave – housing, education, child care, medical care, food, etc.

As everyone knows already, there is no such thing as a free meal, someone must pay for it. There is an opportunity cost to any free market economic activity, but socialists rely on other people’s money. While socialists are idle, enjoying life and finding themselves as one famous Congresswoman suggested, will robots do the work?

It will take an army of robots, computerized and human, working around the clock, to produce the national product, to provide energy, oil, water, basic services such as police, fire, emergencies, medical care, drugs, build and repair roads, run heavy industry, education, and agriculture in order to produce enough food for indolent Americans who will presumably be doing what they enjoy.

I have taken many groups of students on trips to socialized Western Europe, countries that were on par with U.S. economically, yet the standard of living is not the same, far from it. Students could not wait to get back home and, when they did, they said so elatedly.

Whiny students complained that the foreign food was bad and they bee-lined for the nearest McDonald’s even though the local food was delicious, healthy, and included in the price of the trip.

They also complained that hotels, beds, showers, facilities were not as comfortable as American ones, roads and elevators were too small, and they had to carry their suitcases up a few flights of stairs. Rooms, like apartments, were tiny, because space was at a premium. Some places did not have hot water during the week. People were not friendly, and basics were too expensive. Some out of the way villages had outhouses. The litany of complaints was quite long.

Europe has a lot of history, art, architecture, and museums. But it is not a comfortable place to live in like America. Red tape stares you in the face at every turn, far worse than any bureaucracy you can imagine in the U.S.

You must take public transportation, walk everywhere, gasoline and food are expensive, housing is expensive and scarce, and homeownership is not part of their dream, most Europeans rent apartments all their lives. Generations inherit the right to rent the same apartment as if it was their own property.

I had asked students to write down their impressions of Europe and the remarks ranged from the ridiculous to the sublime. It was a disappointing foray into the minds of spoiled Americans who have little appreciation for what they have and for their amazing country.

One punctilious German Pullman bus driver said to me, Americans are rich beyond belief and they do not appreciate anything they have, nobody teaches their kids to appreciate their good fortune. I asked him why he said that, and his answer was, look at these high school brats, how many Europeans do you see who are sufficiently well-off to send their school age offspring on spring break vacations to America?

The collegiate social justice warriors are still looking for the six-figure salary their advisor promised. They cannot even earn a living wage while working for their socialist guru, Bernie Sanders. Who is going to pay for their high-tech gadgets, fancy tattoos, and organic foods? Unlike Europeans, young Americans hate well paid trade jobs, it is beneath them.

Bernie and other Democrats, who have become millionaires while “serving” you in public office, will keep droning on about socialism and equality after which they will retire to their gated and walled mansions you probably paid for. The “democratic” elites will always live well off the backs of the people, no matter who is in charge.

The Democrat Socialist Millennials clamoring for equality will have an eye-opening experience. The Marxist experiment will reveal the true measure of equality and equity of the exploited proletariat, asked to give up everything for the good of the “collective.”

I hope the Socialist brats will eventually remember that, without capitalism, they will be living in “grinding poverty” at the mercy of a dictator.
