Western Civilization Culture and New Generations

Recently a friend lamented the fate of the generational culture in many countries. His remarks eerily described what is happening to the culture of current American society.

The number one complaint was the lack of respect and violent outbursts of young generations. Raised in an atmosphere where anything goes and nobody tells them no, young people injure the elderly, drive their cars as if they are in a race, park their cars in front of your house, in your yard, sometimes even close to your front door and, if you protest, they smile draconically. They defy and disrespect the police all the time when stopped for vehicular infractions.

These young generations live in an altered reality which defies any norms established by centuries of western culture and civilization. Somehow, in the last thirty years, kindness, generosity, and goodness have disappeared, replaced by anger, violence, and hate.

The media has helped destroy any semblance of decency, reality, and truth. Music has become a bizarre cacophony of jungle beat and vile language, and normal language has been transformed into the realm of the Twilight Zone.

Depraved people have become stars, high school dropouts are role models and champions of justice while they are flooding the waves with bad manners, terrible upbringing, lack of education, bad music, and self-appointed righteousness. The dumb and the low have money and power, are promoters of hate, and soap-box inexplicable authority.

Stupidity has money, power, influence, tarantula eyelashes, Neanderthal eyebrows, and welfare-entitled queens. It is visible and evident on every social media platform. Some are subtle but most are loud and screechy.

Generations since 1989 brought back the repackaged and rebranded communism under the umbrella of globalism.

These individuals, supported by trust funds, stolen wealth, NGOs, Instagram and TikTok videos, are reckless but trendy youth, with no life experience or knowledge of the past, in a hurry to find something defining, or an element that would give meaning to their empty lives they spend surrounded by blue screens.

After the 1989 coup, when communism was repealed by so many Eastern Block countries oppressed by their respective Communist Parties, George Soros and his NGO cohorts inserted themselves into those countries with his army of young writers who assembled the curricula and the textbooks for the indoctrination of the new generations into the rebranded form of communism called globalism. The main goal was and still is to turn western societies into globalism and the young generations into global citizens at any cost. And it worked in all of them at the same time.

Cultural symbols, history, religion, monuments, historical artifacts were replaced in public life in the name of freedom and of woke conscience by people who have no idea what freedom is or how to be conscientious.

Patriotism is dying among these generations because they don’t know how to be patriotic, how to preserve their language, their history, their country, their borders, their traditions, their monuments, their culture, national institutions, Christian religion, and the most basic of all, the family. They became empty humans without history and faith.

Courtship and civility are disappearing as well, replaced by a hook-up mentality heavily promoted by the new statist society. Fewer get married and have children in western cultures. They prefer to push strollers with cats and dogs. Those who do believe in matrimony and have a family, are waiting longer and longer to get married. The lack of desire to procreate is obvious in the declining birth rates in all developed nations. U.N. supplements the low birth rate in western societies by moving people from around the world into Europe and the United States. It is forced and illegal migration.

Young generations want to be sports stars, performers, influencers, social justice warriors, hoping for instant stardom and wealth. Few choose trades over worthless college degrees then whine on TikTok videos that they cannot find jobs and are thus oppressed by the capitalist system and the “fascist Donald Trump.” These generations take no responsibility for their actions and choices in life.

Going woke in a collectivist (communist) fashion is promoted everywhere including in the uniformization of buildings, restaurants, ugly clothes, drab colors, identical model cars and colors, etc. Bauhaus communist ugliness is replacing everything that was American tradition, color, happiness, even symbolism in restaurants names, buildings, and products that our parents and grandparents enjoyed and recognized everywhere.

The idea of wokism/globalism/new communism is to alienate people from nostalgia, from happiness, and from what they recognized as their daily American life. You can no longer live as you want, you are forced to live as the statist globalists tell you – drab, suppressed, uniformed, controlled, simple, poor, collectivist, and compliant lives. You achieve woke happiness and “you will like it.”  

The same woke globalists scare new generations that global warming/climate change is likely to destroy civilization if we do not accept the drastic actions they are forcing upon us. But western civilization is destroyed by the few, the extremely rich and influential who control every facet of our lives with help from the United Nations, NGOs, WEF, and other “civil society groups” with schemes and abundant money from our own federal government. And they are never held accountable for what they do to our lives and to new generations.

 

Power Hungry Communists Then and Now

The seizure of power is the main objective of a revolution. And certainly, the communist revolution had the same goal. Lenin’s book, Toward the Seizure of Power, explains that “The question of power . . . is the fundamental question which determines everything in the development of a revolution.” That was certainly the goal of the 1917 Bolshevik revolution.

The Bolsheviks and Lenin destroyed the czarist regime. And they were not restrained by any traditional moral, legal, or ethical principles. Marx and Engels had declared that “there were no eternal moral laws,” and Lenin wrote that “morality is entirely subordinated to the interests of the class struggle of the proletariat,” and that “morality taken outside of human society . . . is a fraud.”

Communist propaganda then and now describes the Bolshevik seizure of power as a ‘proletarian’ revolution. It was actually “an armed insurrection by a relatively small group against an almost powerless government.”

Lenin and his Bolsheviks did not have the overwhelming support of peasants and workers as they had claimed, they constituted a minority and remained so long after the seizure of power. They added more converts by promising ‘Bread, Peace, and Freedom!” The Russians wanted those promises but did not want Bolshevism.

Lenin sought power to advance communism through the “dictatorship of the proletariat,” with total disregard for individual freedom. He even told the masses in detail in the summer of 1917 how he planned on ruling through his dictatorship of the proletariat, using “naked force and terror.”

The “dictatorship of the proletariat” in communist ideology implied a transitional form of government from capitalism to pure communism and was described as an “era of socialism.” Even Marx wrote that the “state can be nothing but the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat.” To further the deception, all Soviet satellites were called socialist republics.

Lenin wrote that force and violence were essential in overthrowing capitalism. Capitalism could not be reformed, had to be destroyed and replaced with the dictatorship of the proletariat. In this new form of governance, the means of production were owned by the state. The state also had complete power, unrestricted by laws, crushing all opposition, real or imagined.

“The seizure of power is a matter of insurrection; its political purpose will be clear after the seizure,” Lenin wrote. Power had to express itself through violence and force, unrestricted by any laws.

Violence and force were excused for the ruling communists. They were allowed to oppress the masses and ethnic minorities among their peoples. The Communist Party (CP) excused violence and force because the bourgeois minority, they said, had exploited the masses under capitalism and therefore the CP members could use any means necessary to teach them hard lessons that capitalism and private property were evil and anybody who tried to have more than what was approved by decree was therefore open for severe punishment. Hoarders of food and other necessities were imprisoned, if lucky, or executed.

Josip Broz Tito is an example of how an early communist organizer used the crisis of fascist Germany invading European countries to rally his people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia to take up arms against the fascist aggressors. Tito was so convincing that his cause was just that in 1945 he became president of Yugoslavia. The Yugoslavs repealed the Nazis only to replace the fascist yoke with the communist yoke.

The communist party of the Soviet Union who terrorized and oppressed its people for 72 years, never relinquished the power they had taken in 1917 by force. They pretended to resign but went underground in 1989 to regroup and reemerge as an even more powerful brand of communism, globalism, now sold in the U.S. as the “woke” movement. No matter what the euphemism used, it is still communism.

Once the Bolsheviks took power, they restricted the publication of any opposition newspapers and outlawed all political groups. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech were eliminated.

Cheka (Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counterrevolution and Sabotage) oversaw the crushing of all opposition to the Bolsheviks. Cheka was controlled by the Council of People’s Commissars, chaired by Lenin.  Cheka had the unchecked power to arrest, imprison, shoot on the spot without due process, and execute anyone who was on their radar for any reason.

The Russian people did not go quietly into the night after the Bolshevik seizure of power. Military resistance developed into civil war by 1918 and spread widely by 1920. But the Bolsheviks won, and the win was attributed to Leon Trotsky as commissar of war. A former journalist in New York City, Trotsky reorganized the Red Army. The dire economic situation at the time worked in his favor as well. Bolshevik agricultural policies produced a short-lived economic recovery in 1921 which further confused the population.

Lenin’s absolute power ended with his death in 1924. But the world communist movement he established continued to suppress all political opposition, applying strict censorship over all means of communication; trade unions became wards of the state and Cheka terrorized everyone.

It is interesting to note that in 1917, when Lenin and his Bolsheviks started the reign of terror in Russia, William Tyler Page, a descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, wrote “The American Creed.” It was accepted by the U.S. House of Representatives on behalf of the American people.

I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people, whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a Republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect Union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

Having lived under communism for twenty years, I appreciate the freedom we have in the United States more than other citizens born and raised in this country who take their abundant life for granted. I respect its laws, I fly the American flag proudly every day, and I support the Constitution.

Unfortunately, the thirst for global power in the hands of a few billionaires and the U.N. is moving all countries further and further to the radical left of global communism.

The fundamental transformation of our country promised by President Obama in 2008 is unfolding fast before our eyes and we are powerless to stop it.

The manufactured global warming and the climate change industry are just smoke and mirrors to mask the total globalist power and control by a few billionaire communists over our lives from cradle to grave.

The Communist Woke Are Dedicated Useful Idiots

Few Americans have heard of William Z. Foster and Gus Hall, former leaders of the Communist Party U.S.A. William Z. Foster had died in Moscow on September 1, 1961, having devoted most of his adult life to the communist Russians. Foster had gone to the Soviet Union in 1961 to seek medical care because, he said, he could not afford it in the U.S. When he died, the Soviets gave him a huge memorial service in the Red Square and offered to bury him in Kremlin’s walls. Instead, his ashes were brought to a cemetery outside Chicago.

Gus Hall dedicated his entire life to the communist movement as well, and, having participated in riots all over the country. As a young man, he testified his willingness to take up arms against constitutional authorities.

The two Americans were classical examples of useful idiots, utilized by Soviets to further their communist agenda. Their devotion to the cause of communism exemplifies that fact that communists, since they took power in 1917, have built a veritable “empire” around the world based on intense propaganda. By 1961 there were 40 million members in 87 communist parties spread around the globe.

To people like me, who have escaped the clutches of the Communist Party and its dictatorship, it is shocking that American citizens would want to join a movement that promises to destroy their way of life permanently. Voters can choose communism at the ballot box, but they must fight their way out of it if they want to escape its tyrannical boots.

For naïve and ignorant “woke” Americans, it seems that the promise of free “stuff” is enough for them to repudiate capitalism and to embrace the illusory promise of a cure for their financial problems and other problems of the world. What are the attractions of communism that convince these Americans to demand the replacing of capitalism with socialism/communism?

1.      Economic attraction:

People who are desperate economically, i.e., have lost jobs, savings, are in severe debt, lost their homes, are hungry because food is so expensive, will accept desperate measures to resolve their problems. They truly believe that socialism/communism will solve all their problems and they would be able to start a new life, a much happier and healthier one, with a clean slate.

What they do not realize is that, even under communism, there are haves and have nots, there is no equality, nor “equity.” If you don’t work, you don’t eat, and you have to work where you are told. You will get a miserly and spartan apartment with no furnishings. Food will be basic and hard to find. Savings and loans will not exist, healthcare will be sparse and inadequate, basic necessities missing in the stores. Electricity, heat, and water will be rationed along with food. A centralized and controlled economy under communism will not yield any prosperity for the masses, only for the people at the top who control it all.

2.      Sociological attraction:

Americans who have experienced various forms of social injustice or prejudice are strong candidates for communism. Some Americans are frustrated with existing conditions which they find unfair and want to eliminate all injustices. Frustrated with the democratic process, these adherents to communism believe that only communism can fix all injustices.

The communist propaganda portrays communism as “the champion of social protest, the only force striving to improve the conditions of the oppressed.” This is a total lie. There is no place to redress injustice under communism because the entire system is rigged by and sustained for the success of the elites at the top of the Communist Party.

3.      Political attraction:

Communist propaganda promises the simplicity of one party that runs everything and delivers paradise. The propaganda highlights the success of the former Soviet Union, economically, industrially, scientifically, educationally, and technologically, but hide the huge human cost to achieve this communist political order – all the human suffering, gulags, and deaths at the hands of the Communist Party, the only political entity allowed to exist.

4.      Psychological attraction:

Highly insecure and inadequate Americans in their personal lives are attracted to communism because they don’t have to be burdened by any responsibility for their bad decisions and terrible actions. They are happy to let communist party leaders make decisions for all individuals. Some even give up their prior religious beliefs and take up atheism as a poor replacement.

The party offers endless activities of propaganda, pulling them more and more into the communist movement and forcing them to abandon any outside interests. The party becomes their whole lives. Educating and guiding the masses into submission becomes an all-consuming activity for “selfless dedication and self-sacrifice.”

Soviets were exceptionally good at drawing in the under-developed world because lives were governed by ignorance and poverty. The communist social activists helped locals improve their diets, prevent disease through simple hygienic measures, their living conditions, helped them build roads, railroads, and provided them with education and technical training. Many less developed countries became communist easily and permanently even though their citizen’s lives are rotten and desperate to this day. The communist propaganda is so strong that citizens continue to vote their way into communist-delivered poverty, crime, and misery.

Communist activists cleverly exploited nationalism to their advantage in less developed nations. They disguised themselves as the supporters of the “right of all nations to their complete independence.”

The Soviets and the Chinese offered them trade agreements, technical aid, economic aid, military aid, and university scholarships at the most prestigious universities.  The communists worked very hard to undermine non-communist governments in these developing countries and held back the modernization process.

The "woke” Americans in this country are the dedicated fools who believe that socialism and communism are the ways to secure their futures. They may understand that socialism is communism light or may not understand at all what they are asking for.

The “woke” want to live like the “socialist” Nordic countries that seem to be paradise transported on bicycles. What they don’t understand is that those Nordic countries are not socialist, they are capitalist nations with free enterprise, and a government that strongly favors national welfare for its citizens and taxes them to death to pay for these welfare programs.

Ukrainians’ Absurd Request

The following seems like a Babylon Bee story, but it is true. Professor Cristian Sandache wrote recently about the absurd request made by the Ukrainian Embassy and the Union of the Ukrainians in Romania to the mayor of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, to join other European capitals’ tide against the Russians and to change their history to appear woke appeasers to Ukrainians.

They asked that part of the Pavel D. Kiseleff highway be renamed the Ukrainian Highway. The Russian Federation Embassy is located on the said Kiseleff Highway. Such a renaming would show “solidarity with the Ukrainian people subjected to the Putinist Russia aggression.” Vladimir Putin has always considered Ukraine Russian.

Professor Sandache reminded the Ukrainians that Kiseleff (Count Pavel D. Kiselyov) was an important historical figure for Romanians and a positive reformer. He was the governor of the Principalities of Moldova and Tara Romaneasca in the 1829-1834 period, and a diplomat and businessman during the occupation by the Russian Empire.

Kiselyov was essential in drafting what amounted to the first constitution of the Romanian principalities of that period; they were called Regulamentele Organice (1831 and 1832). When he returned to the Russian Empire, Kiselyov was remembered with fondness by the landowners of the two principalities. When Kiselyov was Russian Ambassador to France during 1856-1862, he promoted the unification of the two principalities into one Romanian territory and he remained a friend of the Romanian cause and its people until the end of his life.

It is interesting to note that even in the WWII period when Romania was at war with USSR, nobody brought up the request to change the name of the highway in question.

The Ukrainian Embassy’s absurd request is not a diplomatic gaffe but a purposeful disregard of Romanian history. And the mayor of Bucharest and the woke Romanian contingent may be just so EU-compliant or corrupt enough to make the change.

Electricity and Social Emotional Learning for Equity of Woke Warriors

The Roman soldier was not concerned about the fate of the Empire, stretching beyond the administrative reach, the politics of the day, the power and overreach of the patricians, the 600 Senators (senex = old man), the Roman army; soldiers only cared about the pebbles in their shoes because those pebbles caused them pain and discomfort when they marched on campaigns.  They were happy when they were given “pane et circenses,” bread and circuses.  Free gladiatorial performances in the arena kept them placid and pacified with free tokens for plain bread.

The Roman empire was so vast that, when its most important city, Rome, the “Eternal City,” fell in 410 A.D. to Gothic armies camped outside its walls, the world then, devoid of instant communication, took a lengthy gasp. The city that stood unconquered for 800 years fell to Germanic barbarians under the leadership of Alaric the Goth.

St. Jerome, living in Bethlehem, is reported to have said, “When the brightest light on the whole Earth was extinguished, when the Roman empire was deprived of its head, when to speak more correctly, the whole world perished in one city, I was dumb with silence.”

But the western part of the empire lingered on for 66 more years until 476, at the end of which Emperor Romulus Augustus was deposed by his German commanders. But the sacking was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. Citizens had been poisoning themselves with lead for a long time:  Romans drank from lead cups, cooked in lead pots, transported water through lead pipes, and used lead oxide to sweeten their wine, just to name a few of its many uses. Skeletons found around the vast empire exhibited classic evidence of lead poisoning.

Sterility, probably caused by lead, prompted emperors to encourage having more children to stop the population decline. But, poor health, population decline, and indefensible vast borders were just three of the reasons the empire declined and eventually fell.

One Greek historian had remarked almost three hundred years before Rome’s downfall that it had turned “from a kingdom of gold to one of rust and iron.” Our infrastructure today, government, American exceptionalism, and everything that had made America great a long time ago is fast turning into ruin and rust just like Rome, the Eternal City.

Centuries later, humans have not changed that much, they just have better medicine, machines, and transportation. They may not all be soldiers but most only care about their lives, the mundane, sports entertainment, the modern version of “bread and circuses,” and the ability to feed, clothe, shelter, and protect their families. They follow obediently the “government knows best” directives with blind obsequiousness. But the government is made up of little dictators with many faults, inabilities, dishonesty, and lack of vision for generations to come.

The population does not care about politics, the machinations of Washington, D.C., the power grabs, the agendas, the control, and the theft of the nation. They want a home, a car, electricity for heat and air conditioning, medical care, preferably free, dignity, and freedom to live as they please. So, what will happen to their “Shining City on the Hill,” the symbol of their empire? Will it turn to ruin and rust as well?

What is the pebble in the shoe of the 21^st century American woke warriors? It is capitalism and its tool of progress, fossil fuels.

The current woke and delusional generations are determined to destroy their own successful economy and replace it with a disaster promoted under the label of Democrat Socialism and their platform of the Green New Deal.

Democrat Socialism is just a new phrase invented by the left to repackage and sell the old failed socialism model to the ignorant masses.  The Green New Deal is neither Green, nor New, and no Deal, it is just U.N. Agenda 21/2030 retreaded and euphemized to convince the woke voting base that there is an annoying pebble in their shoe and they can regress to a primitive life they’ve never experienced before and go barefoot in order to save the planet from the scourge of humanity.

The old Greenies and the younger Woke Warriors applaud the Green New Deal without giving it a thought where electricity for their Teslas and other electric cars will come from. They just feel instinctively that solar panels and wind turbines will replace the “evil” and “poisonous” fossil fuels” that are killing the planet and the cute little turtles choking on plastic straws, fishing nets, plastic bags, and plastic bottles.

It is so much better to make paper bags and destroy the trees that produce oxygen, trees are so abundant and grow so fast, but, once Bill Gates and Harvard mitigate global warming by spraying chalk in the upper atmosphere to block the harmful rays of the sun, good luck growing anything, including trees.

So where will electricity come from, woke warriors? Where will charging stations for your fully electric cars, millions of them, get their electricity from? From the fairy dust in the atmosphere, the same place where your food will come from once you kill agriculture.  Will you produce enough electricity to sustain our large economy, production, travel, heating, cooling, shopping malls, industry, technology, hospitals, and your ever-increasing electronic gadgets and toys? Will this electricity come from:

-          Wind turbines that only produce a small fraction of electricity when the wind blows at a certain peak speed, turbines that must be manufactured and maintained with help from fossil fuels, turbine blades that are difficult to recycle and must be transported with heavy machinery operated by fossil fuels?

-          Solar panels – the wafers do not last long, must be replaced, produced using fossil fuels, cannot be recycled, are toxic for the environment, and need a lot of land to display, land that is needed for agriculture.  Who needs land to make food when you can eat Bill Gates’ fake meat?

-          Nuclear power plants – none have not been built in this country in quite sometime and the greenies reject the idea of ever building new ones, it is too dangerous to humans and to the environment.

-          Hydroelectric power plants - The environmentalists want to destroy the dams necessary for hydropower, the rivers must flow just like they did centuries ago, unimpeded by man

-          Fossil fuels, oil, and coal - These are dirty words for the woke generation, they are convinced that our current civilization can survive and prosper without them.

Perhaps the woke generation has it all imagined and resolved – technology will be everything and the news media, social media, and the climate change industrial complex will take care of ALL their basic needs – food, shelter, cars, energy, education, health care, travel, and non-stop virtual entertainment if they obey the ruling elites.
