On a Dreary and Rainy Day

I prayed for rain for weeks and weeks. Even though it’s the middle of May, grasses looked dormant and yellow, no matter how much fertilizer we applied.

Finally, one day after Mother’s Day, the grey and cloudy skies finally opened, and a deluge filled the dry swamps, the drainage ditches, and the huge pond nearby. It rained all night and it’s still raining hard. Flooding has overwhelmed ditches and capturing ponds.

It has been raining non-stop for hours today. The bull frogs in the pond were croaking happily last night in a choral unison of “rum, rum, rum.”

Everything looks green, colors look more intense, and the birds are chirping harmoniously from all directions in the forest. The bird nesting under our deck is hiding at the moment but the resident fox came by to snatch the bones I left for her last night. A blue heron landed briefly by the pond but flew away.

On days like today, nature comes alive, but humans disappear. The only vehicle that drove by was the garbage pickup truck.

I am pensive, waxing philosophically about our place on earth at this late stage in our lives. It seems that time flew by, our children now have grey hairs, homes of their own, some have children. We are happy and blessed with our children and grandchildren, but I still don’t understand why we are here, what is the purpose of life, of our lives? Why are we here?

I miss the years of my youth, I miss my people, some of my relatives, the few friends I have, and the place where I was born, a place where I no longer belong and barely recognize.

My closest and dearest relatives have passed away, my parents are gone, and all of my friends have moved on. There are very few people left who are barely in our lives.

I have two second cousins who live in the U.S. but none have made any contact so they might as well live on another planet. Everyone is on Facebook, so impersonal and sad, liking each other’s posts, or getting angry at total strangers, who insult them. The world is smaller but a sad place, thanks to technology.

I am staring out the window, watching the rain and the flooding in my back yard that is greening everything. There is a sort of peace in being inside and dry, watching the animals and birds playing in the rain and foraging for food. It’s a life they enjoy in these moments, not wondering about their existence.

It's a dreary and rainy day but nature is green and alive.

What is Sustainability?

"Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption and set levels of mortality control.” - Professor Maurice King

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary lists “sustain” as “to give support or relief to, to nourish, to keep up, prolong. The Barnhart Etymological Dictionary (p. 1098) gives its Latin root of “sustinere” as “to hold up, keep up, support, endure,” as a variant to hold.

The word “sustainability” is another matter. It seems that environmentalists with a certain agenda have written the definition in Webster’s. Sustainable, besides “capable of being sustained,” is also a “method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged, sustainable techniques, sustainable agriculture, and a lifestyle involving the use of sustainable methods.”

Wikipedia is even bolder and more complex in their definition of sustainability – they are shamelessly preaching U.N. Agenda 21 goals. “Achieving sustainability will enable the earth to continue supporting human life.” I am not sure how the earth supported human life for eons, it must have been sheer luck, we cannot leave it to chance, and it must be controlled by the environmental non-government powers with plenty of government funding and regulations. Today we are doomed to fail miserably without sustainability. Wikipedia broadly explains and describes sustainability as:

-         Wetlands

-         Diversity

-         Eco-economics

-         Urban planning

-         Lifestyles

-         Ethical consumerism

-         Eco-villages

-         Eco-municipalities

-         Sustainable cities

-         Permaculture

-         Green building

-         Sustainable agriculture

-         Green technologies

-         Renewable energy

-         Sustainable fission

-         Fusion power

-         Sustainable engineering

-         Sustainable forestry

-         Environmental management

-         Environmental science

-         Earth science

-         Conservation biology

-         Human consumption and resources

In addition to controlling the frightened low information humans into the green compliance and indoctrinating the next generation into the smart growth of green, there are fortunes to be made from the sustainability schemes and scams at the expense of the middle class: carbon taxes, carbon swaps, carbon footprint, electric cars, wind and solar energy generation, expensive regulations filling the coffers of government bureaucracies, of unions, and of a few elites who push the green scam zealously.

Since 1987, Sustainable Development of U.N. Agenda 21 has turned every economic activity possible into Sustainable Everything, from education to food. My local diner advertises food cooked with sustainable turkeys.

At the center of Sustainable Development are public policy objectives to “protect the environment, control economic development, and promote social equity.” Who can argue with protecting the environment and who does not want a pristine environment? It is how the environment will be protected to the detriment of humans, the economic control and the social equity goals that disturb higher information Americans.

Global warming is a political movement solidified by U.N. Agenda 21 to bring about global justice, equality, and wealth redistribution, power to a handful of global elites, total economic control, and population reduction to the levels that “consensus” scientists and journalists, who manufacture temperature data and misinformation, deem necessary to gain control of the uninformed and frightened masses.

The hoax of global warming as a political movement will bring about the fundamental transformation of America promised to us during the presidential campaign, the new world order/global governance.

Vice President Joe Biden said on April 5, 2013 at the Export-Import Bank conference in Washington, “The affirmative task we have now is to actually create a new world order because the global order is changing again and the institutions of the world that worked so well in the post-World War II era for decades, they need to be strengthened and some have to be changed.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76Ombbyo0CA

“No matter if the science of global warming is all phony…climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.” (Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment)

If the MSM repeats in tandem bold lies and misinformation enough times and with confidence, “It does not matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true.” (Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace)

“We’ve got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy.” (Timothy Wirth, President of the U.N. Foundation)

Paying a tax to reduce carbon footprint is meant to alleviate the guilt of the elites, liberals, politicians, the rich, and the hypocritical Hollywood who have not stopped “polluting” with their jets, huge mansions, and excessive, in your face, lifestyles. But the majority of middle class Americans can ill-afford these taxes.

Sustainable Development will solidify global governance as promoted by the World Core Curriculum. According to James Lovelock’s Gaia Hypothesis, “the earth is a living organism, the giver of life, every species is equal in value, and that both animate and inanimate objects have rights.”

Dr. Robert Muller, who developed the World Core Curriculum, claims that “every member of every species is a cell in the global organism and that the evolution of the United Nations represents the development of the earth’s brain.” (http://freedom.org/reports/ggreligion.htm)

This curriculum teaches students that it is a sin to cut down a tree, that animals have rights, and humans (Americans in particular) are “killing” the earth by burning fossil fuels. God is greatly ridiculed and the faithful are marginalized. The “Earth Charter,” which seeks to replace the Ten Commandments with a global green religion, was promoted by Maurice Strong and Michael Gorbachev.

Maurice Strong, “a native Canadian who is widely deemed to be one of the key instigators of the global environmental movement, living a low-profile in China for the past half-decade,” is considered “the godfather of global environmentalism and organizer of the United Nations’ 1992 Rio environmental Earth Summit.” (George Russell, Godfather of Global Green Thinking Steps out of Shadows at Rio+20, Fox News Insider, June 20, 2012)

How will new world order/global governance be achieved through the political movement of Sustainable Development Everything? Aside from academic indoctrination into the scam of green, man-made global warming hoax, and learned helplessness, a massive change of zoning laws, severe regulations and restrictions of land use, home building, energy consumption, consumerism, fossil fuels exploration and use, visioning committees at local levels will change the face of western countries through “regional” shadow governments, unelected individuals who will dictate policy on every economic issue. “Regionalism must precede globalism. We foresee a seamless system of governance from local communities, individual states, regional unions and up through to the United Nations itself.” (U.N. Commission on Global Governance)

Various executive orders and laws have established regionalism and have already implemented U.N. Agenda 21 goals of Sustainable Development. There is no federal government body left that does not have plans for Sustainable Development. Most universities now offer degrees or have professorial chairs in Sustainable Development. Job titles have been renamed to contain the words “green growth” or “sustainable.”

We’ve reached this point of no return with the help of left wing journalists who have abandoned any pretense of objectivity. They are nothing but the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party - Democrat operatives, propagandists, political commentators, and lobbyists, politicizing anything that will grow the socialist government, including the manufactured science of global warming.

In criticizing and ridiculing global warming skeptics, disingenuous journalists cite the “science consensus,” not bothering to explain that science is exact, not a consensus. Conveniently forgotten is the fact that debunked scientists with an agenda (such as those at the University of East Anglia) promoted the false notion of man-made global warming by deleting data from climate computer models that contradicted their hypothesis.

"Welcome to Sustainable City"

As I walked through Washington, D.C. Ronald Reagan National Airport Terminal C on my way to the gate, a large electronic billboard caught my attention. It was so large that my cell camera could not capture the entire surface. It was a touch screen with the Siemens Corporation logo, announcing, “Welcome to Sustainable City.” (http://www.usa.siemens.com/sustainable-cities/)

Capturing the site on my iphone, the typical fare of environmentalism popped up, presenting Siemens as the leader in “sustainable development,” “green buildings,” “intelligent buildings,” “smart grid,” “sustainable urban development,” “sustainable communities,” “environmental care,” and health care.

As our environment and neighborhoods get “smart,” “sustainable,” and “green” around us, we seem to become less intelligent, more gullible, and willing to accept euphemistic schemes of power and control over our lives.

Familiar with the UN Agenda 21 propaganda and its buzzwords preceded either by “sustainable” or “green” everything, in the name of saving the planet from human behavior, a clever and devious attempt to control every facet of human activity and life, I stopped immediately.

Three touch screen icons inside the billboard displayed games:

-          Green Building Challenge
      -          Urban Mobility Challenge
      -          eCar Charging Challenge

The latest attempt to indoctrinate and propagandize “Green Growth” and demonize urban sprawl as well as fossil-fuels, stated, “Like most cities around the world, it’s growing at an incredible rate: But there are already ways it’s becoming more lasting, livable, and prosperous. See if you can make the city more sustainable.”

My first thought was, of course, that few of the buildings we have built in modern times are that lasting. Europeans can name thousands of beautiful structures that are hundreds of years old. Italians have a couple of Coliseums from the Roman Empire that have survived many earthquakes and are still standing in Rome and Verona. They may not look perfect since thieves who had built their marble palaces and churches had dismantled large chunks over centuries, but they had endured without clever schemes or protection from the “sustainable” crowd.

The game, Urban Mobility Challenge, invited the player to put as many people as possible in public transportation (trains). If the player failed in a timed period, the streets filled to capacity with cars and he/she lost the game. Disgusted with the overt and not so subtle propaganda, I stopped playing the other two games.

A sinking feeling of dread overcame me when I realized the pervasiveness of UN Agenda 21 indoctrination at every level of society without Americans taking much notice. People were passing by the billboard as if it was another advertisement.  To them, it was just a nice way to save the planet from the “irrational” behavior of humans who are going to destroy Mother Earth with their daily living if not told by “progressives” what to do in order to rectify it.

By now, every facet of human life and activity has a “sustainability” or “smart growth” plan. It must make Maurice Strong and his environmental/”progressive” fellow travelers from third world nations very happy. In the past fifty years, they have been feverishly and doggedly, devising, planning, and implementing thousands of ways to capture the wealth of first nations and re-distribute it through clever schemes, initiatives, and “programmes” to third world countries. In spite of writings by “Agenders” like me, domestic and international “progressives” have been very successful, nearing the completion of their “smart growth” dream of total control of our lives and resources, thanks to Americans who are asleep and blissfully uninformed.

I see more and more evidence of UN Agenda 21 irreversible success. The United Nations is not the bumbling idiotic organization that Americans believe it to be. Nobody can escape now being “green” and “sustainable.” It is the progressives’ religion, “green” is the new Marxism.

How did we possibly survive for thousands of years in the absence of “sustainability” agendas, plans, initiatives, and bureaucracies, without progressives telling us what to do? Apparently, we are doomed unless we do what the wise UN says.

Here it was, United Nations pushing mass transit, the abandonment of conventional cars, the forced acceptance of electric cars that catch on fire and nobody wants to buy, in a clever electronic touch screen game intended to appeal to the young generation of Americans who are easily brainwashed into compliance, done with the generous advertising dollars of Siemens, a German corporation.

While on the plane, I was flipping through the glossy passenger magazine. The CEO was talking about “creating a sustainable future” with Eco-Skies, their commitment to “reduce the impact on the environment in the air.”

In November 2011, “United operated the first commercial flight in the U.S. powered by biofuel.” While the effort is laudable, the CEO admits that “biofuels need to be both scalable and salable (producible in large quantities at a price comparable to traditional hydrocarbons) to be successful commercially.” “I’m proud of our initial steps to help improve the capabilities of this environmentally friendly fuel source.”

I wondered about the reduced food supply and the high price of corn that people around the world had to pay because of shortages created by the use of corn as biofuel.

The government is imposing values held dear by “progressives” onto the majority of Americans such as diet, living quarters, exercise, sex, transportation, Mother Earth religion, property rights, health care, abortion, land use, and redefinition of marriage. It is our objections, our resistance, and our non-compliance with their dictates that outrages “progressives.”

“Do what we want, there will be no fuss, and we will not try to squash you.” “Progressives” are the true aggressors in the culture wars and they seem to be winning. At some point, measures that are more forceful will be used to override our objections and the will of the people. The gentle persuasion of now will disappear.

Executive orders and regulations by non-government organizations will be replaced by re-interpretations of the law without due process, rule making, orders, and decrees of public-private partnerships with no opportunity for redress.
