We Are Not a Democracy

I was strolling through Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia when I encountered a very loud group of high school students who did not speak English but were having a grand time in front of the Colonial Governor’s Palace.

After making a few inquiries with the adults, I found out from one of their American chaperones from D.C. that they were Pacific Islanders who were sponsored by the Department of Interior via the NGO Close Up with the idea to teach them about our American “democracy.”

Talking to one of the educator chaperones from the Pacific Islands, I emphasized the fact that we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic with elected representatives who are to abide by our Constitution. She was naïve and did not understand that facet of our Constitutional Republic.

The Close Up Foundation advertises itself as a “nonprofit, nonpartisan civic education organization in Washington, D.C.” Established in 1971by Stephen A. Janger, Close Up is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. President and CEO is Timothy S. Davis, Esq. The foundation had a revenue of $28,706,197 (2014) and expenses of $27,846,081 (2014). The revenue for 2025 is $39,919,109. Datanyze reveals slightly different numbers. Close Up Foundation Company Profile | Management and Employees List

The website claims that since 1971, more than one million students and educators participated in Close Up programs “to inspire young people to find their unique voice and help them develop the skills and awareness they need to be engaged citizens for life.” They are expected to interact with people, places, and institutions to “discover how your voice can make an impact on American democracy.” Again, we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic. Washington DC Student Programs & Resources | Close Up Foundation

“Using the city as a living classroom, Close Up’s Washington, D.C., trip allows high school students to make personal connections with the people and institutions that embody our nation’s past and present.”

“Close Up’s once-in-a-lifetime program opportunities are designed to inspire and empower students to become active participants in our democracy. With the help of our program instructors, students experience history and government, consider a variety of viewpoints on important current issues, and build the skills of engaged citizenship.” Close Up's Washington D.C. Trip for High School Students

Close Up Foundation hosts programs for students and teachers from all 50 states, Abu Dhabi, American Samoa, Canada, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Curacao, Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, Puerto Rico, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Mexico, Republic of Palau, and the United State Virgin Islands.

The educational idea is laudable, but should we be using Department of the Interior money to fund these trips, including expensive plane tickets? The elements of American civics are taught in every high school in the nation; we do not need the taxpayer expense to fund these trips to expose outsiders to our American “democracy.”

Are We in Waning Times like Rome?

Throughout human history, there have been approximately 60 empires, some longer lived than others - Roman Empire, Persian, Mongol, Ottoman, Han Dynasty, Umayyad Caliphate, Spanish Empire, Russian Empire, and the British Empire. They left significant traces in both eastern and western civilizations.

The Mongol Empire of the 13th and 14th centuries was the most contiguous empire in history. The Umayyad Caliphate comprised 4 million square miles.

The Han dynasty ruled from 206 B.C. for 400 years.

The Ottoman (Islamic) Empire occupied parts of three continents during 16th and 17th centuries. It “collapsed in the early years of the 20th century.”

Persian Empire (Achaemenian) under Cyrus the Great occupied lands from Iran to Central Asia and Egypt. It fell in 333 B.C.

The Spanish empire, at its height in the 1700s stretched over 5.3 million square miles. This colonial empire existed from 1492 until 1649 (the decline) or 1976, depending on who you ask. It controlled parts of Africa, Europe, Oceanic islands, and both Americas.

The Russian Empire controlled 8.9 million square miles at its height in 1895. Historians agree that this empire and the Little Ice Age had played important roles in stopping Napoleon’s conquest of Europe.

The British Empire, now a shadow of its former self, controlled a quarter of the planet and of its population. A few of the former colonies remain part of the Commonwealth of Nations to this day.

Hitler’s Third Reich (empire), as he proclaimed it, was supposed to last a thousand years. It lasted a little over a decade, from 1933 until its pronounced defeat in 1945 by the Allies in WWII.

The Roman Empire was established in 27 B.C. by Augustus Caesar who proclaimed himself the first Emperor of Rome. Rome itself was founded in 753 B.C.

Then there was the Holy Roman Empire which was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an empire. Headed by a Holy Roman Emperor, this “polity” developed in the Early Middle Ages in Europe and lasted almost a thousand years until its dissolution in 1806 during the Napoleonic Wars.

Nobody can dispute the fact that America has tried to be too many things to too many people and that, in the end, we appear to have failed. We have not advanced democracy around the world as politicians claimed because most countries did not want our “democracy.”

We are not a democracy nor an empire, we are a Constitutional Republic. When the mainstream media repeated the lie of democracy ad nauseam, people eventually believed it.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary quoted James Madison who wrote, “In a democracy, the people meet and exercise the government in person; in a republic, they assemble and administer it by their representatives and agents. A democracy, consequently, will be confined to a small spot. A republic may be extended over a large region.”

In 507 B.C., Athenian leader Cleisthenes introduced demokratia, “rule by the people,” from the Greek words, demos (people) and kratos (power). Demokratia had three institutions, the ekklesia (a group who wrote laws and devised foreign policy); the boule (council of representatives from the ten Athenian tribes); and the dikasteria (courts in which citizens presented cases to a group of jurors chosen by lottery). The lottery had to be rigged since the rich were chosen more often than the poor. Demokratia lasted two centuries. Academics renamed it direct democracy as opposed to modern representative democracy. Academics love to play with words and meanings to suit their agenda.

Democracy was not power to the people (demos-people, kratos-power) because out of 100,000 Athenian citizens only 40,000 were part of the demos who voted, male citizens older than 18.

Dikasteria chose by lot 500 jurors every day from a pool of male citizens older than 30. Aristotle said that dikasteria “contributed most to the strength of democracy because the jury had unlimited power.” Athenian citizens “used dikasteria to punish or embarrass their enemies.”  Sounds familiar?

The Roman Empire stretched all over Europe and North Africa. It lasted more than a thousand years if one takes into account the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire) which ended with the fall of Constantinople in 1453 A.D. and its capture by the Turks.

This Eastern Roman Empire, more Greek in life and language, furthered Roman learning, and law within its walls.

The advance of the Roman Empire was always halted by the barbaric tribes in the north and east – Franks, Saxons, Alemanni, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Alans, and Huns.

At its height, Rome, the seat of the Roman Empire, was a superb megalopolis of more than one million people.

In 410 A.D., historians describe a hot August night when a slave opened “the gates of a starving Rome and the Gothic armies camped outside flooded the “Eternal City.” Hordes of Germanic barbarians ransacked Rome for three days.

St. Jerome, a native of Rome, wrote, “When the brightest light on the whole Earth was extinguished, when the Roman Empire was deprived of its head, when, to speak more correctly, the whole world perished in one city, I was dumb with silence.”

Rome stood unconquered for 800 years. The Roman Empire never recovered after this sacking of Rome and, in 476 A.D., the last emperor, Romulus Augustus, was deposed by his own German commanders.

Alaric’s Goths were not exactly interested in destroying Rome, they wanted the Roman way of life. Alaric had asked for land for his men and the title of allied commander but was denied. More Roman soldiers were recruited from the ranks of these barbarians who felt no allegiance to Rome.

King Gaiseric destroyed much more of Rome in 454 A.D., but the end of the empire is associated with Alaric’s attack in 410 A.D. because the psychological blow to the Roman citizenry was so shocking that it became impossible to overcome.

The Western Roman Empire had stretched too far from Rome and its borders were exceedingly more difficult to defend against the constant invasions.

The excessive use of lead as sweetener, in cosmetics, and in lead pipes that carried water everywhere, caused chronic lead poisoning and infertility as evidenced by skeletons found in Cirencester which contained ten times the amount of normal lead concentration. People suffered from paralyzed limbs and headaches, classic symptoms of lead poisoning. Fertility declined, and no encouragement from emperors to produce more children changed the down spiral.

Other historians believe that “mad emperors, corrupt politicians, the lust for power, sexual perversion, and paranoia destroyed the empire from within.” You can add to that envy and treachery.

Some autocratic emperors ruled only for their own benefit, greed, power, and vengeance, but some spent Rome’s wealth for the common good. Murder in cold blood often removed their enemies, real and imagined. Other emperors were so crazy that they committed unspeakable horrors just because they could.

Greed and corruption were so entrenched that “Six men owned half the land in the province of Africa, according to the historian Pliny the Elder.”

The main lessons from the Roman Empire's demise are that it fell because of greed, corruption, immorality, debauchery, inability to defend its vast borders, massive invasion from poor neighbors who envied the Roman lifestyle and its riches and wanted lands and wealth, and potential lead poisoning which led to population decline. It is important to note that the Roman Empire's decline and fall were not carefully orchestrated from within, by its own Curia and Senators, its fall happened gradually over hundreds of years.

Even though our country is a Constitutional Republic, many Americans today believe that it is a democracy, others an empire, and some an experiment. The lie of democracy and empire has been repeated so many times that it has become the truth for most.

Considering the off the cliff’ purposeful direction that our country is following, this question is legitimate, are we in the waning years of its former greatness?

Empires End Eventually and Ours Is Comatose

Throughout human history, there have been approximately 60 empires, some longer lived than others. They left significant traces in both eastern and western  civilizations. Britannica names eight of the largest empires but leaves out conspicuously the Roman Empire: Persian, Mongol, Ottoman, Han Dynasty, Umayyad Caliphate, Spanish Empire, Russian Empire, and the British Empire. 8 of the Largest Empires in History | Britannica

The mighty British Empire, now a shadow of its former self, controlled a quarter of the planet and of its population.

The Roman Empire stretched all over Europe and North Africa. It lasted more than a thousand years if one takes into account the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire) which ended with the fall of Constantinople in 1453 A.D. and its capture by the Turks.

It is interesting how this eastern empire still called itself Roman even though it had become more Greek in life and language. It is true that within its walls, Constantinople furthered Roman learning and law.

The advance of the Roman Empire was always halted by the barbaric tribes in the north and east, so called because they wore beards (barbarus, bearded in Latin) – Franks, Saxons, Alemanni, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Alans, and Huns.

At its height, Rome, the seat of the Roman Empire, was a superb megalopolis of more than one million people. The Forum, built by Emperor Augustus (27 B.C.-14 B.C.), dominated the city and was the commercial and political life of Rome, expressing through its greatness the power of the Roman Empire itself.

Alaric and his armies sacked the “Eternal City” in August 410 A.D., a sweltering day according to historians. The gates were opened to the Gothic armies camped outside Rome; the city that stood unconquered for 800 years.

St. Jerome, born in Rome, but residing in distant Bethlehem, lamented: “When the brightest light on the whole Earth was extinguished, when the Roman Empire was deprived of its head, when, to speak more correctly, the whole world perished in one city, I was dumb with silence.” Thus began the decline of the western Roman Empire into oblivion in 476 A.D. when Emperor Romulus Augustus was deposed by his own German commanders.

It was not just the fall of an empire, but the end of the world as they knew it. But the Goths and their leader, Alaric, did not want to destroy it, they just wanted the benefits of the Roman way of life, land for his men and title of allied commander.

The fall of Rome started much earlier in subtle ways; the Goths had adopted Roman ways while many generations of Romans living in far-away parts of the Roman empire had adopted the barbarians’ way of life. Roman soldiers were recruited from the Germanic people who had no loyalty whatsoever to Rome.

A Vandal, King Gaiseric, did not just capture Rome, he destroyed it in 454 A.D. but the initial sacking of the “Eternal City” in 410 A.D. remained in history the most significant marker of the fall of the Roman Empire.

Evidence found in Circenster, the second-largest city in Roman Britain, points to lead poisoning in bones discovered in tombs there. It is not known if they died from such high lead concentrations (ten times the normal, especially in children) but it is known from contemporary accounts that people suffered from symptoms of chronic lead poisoning, severe headaches, and paralyzed limbs.

Water was carried through lead pipes, Romans drank from lead cups, cooked in lead pots, and even used lead oxide to sweeten wine or as make up for their faces and to powder their hair. Lead poisoning also caused sterility, but we do not have records to prove such a population decline in the west, but it may have been likely.

The eastern part of the empire did not have many lead pipes and used pottery for their cups and dishes. Mines in the eastern part of the empire were fewer. This small fact may have lengthened their existence beyond the 5th century, way into the 15th century.

Eventually the Roman Empire’s frontiers became vulnerable to attacks from various barbarian tribes and could not be defended from constant barbarian invasions.

The main lessons from the Roman Empire's demise are that it fell because of greed, corruption, immorality, debauchery, inability to defend its vast borders, massive invasion from poor neighbors who envied the Roman lifestyle and its riches and wanted lands and wealth, and potential lead poisoning which led to a population decline. It is important to note that the Roman Empire's decline and fall were not carefully orchestrated from within, by its own Curia and Senators, its fall happened gradually over hundreds of years.

NOTE: Our Constitutional Republic, which today most ignorant Americans think it is a democracy, a few an American Empire, and some an experiment, is now comatose.

Gaslighting in Democracy

Gaslighting is “the practice of psychologically manipulating someone into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning.” There are many daily examples of gaslighting coming from the media and corrupt politicians daily. The question remains, are those manipulated able to tell that they are manipulated and are they making corrections to the warped reality they have been convinced to believe and trust?

At the end of WWII, Germany was split into two parts. One part was controlled by the Allies minus the Russians, Bundesrepublik Deutschland (BRD), German Federal Republic or West Germany; the other part was controlled by the Russians, Deutsche Demokratische Republik, (DDR), German Democratic Republic or East Germany. That side of Germany, five states in total, was neither Democratic, nor a Republic, it was a dictatorship controlled by the Soviet-style Communist Party.

The Soviets made sure that a long border, a physical Iron Curtain, was built between the two German countries with a wide no-man’s land guarded by prison-like watchtowers with machine guns, guards, mines, trenches, and barbed wire. Sometimes this frontier ran through farms and pastures, splitting farmers’ lands. This border remained in place from 1949 until 1990 and it stretched 1,381 kilometers (858 miles) from the Baltic Sea to Czechoslovakia. It was established on July 1, 1945 as a boundary between the Western and the Soviet occupation zones of Germany.

To forcibly keep the East German population trapped inside the socialist country, the border was built as “the world’s most heavily fortified, defined by a continuous line of high metal fences and walls, barbed wire, alarms, anti-vehicle ditches, watchtowers, automatic booby traps and minefields. It was patrolled by 50,000 armed East German border guards.”

This border reflected Winston Churchill’s ideological metaphor of the Iron Curtain that split the Soviet and the Western bloc countries during Cold War as an ideological boundary between capitalism and socialism/communism.

The city of Berlin itself was split into two parts, the Western side, and the Eastern side. West Berlin was democratic and free while East Berlin was communist and captive. The 27-mile long and tall Berlin Wall was built to divide the two city parts, separating families overnight, building the wall sometimes through the middle of a street. The first victim of the Berlin Wall was a lady named Ida whose apartment building was on the side of East Germany while the street was now in West Germany. She jumped and died on the way to the hospital. At the Berlin Wall, Thousands Tried Creative—and Dangerous—Ways to Get Across (history.com)

People communicated from their apartment windows across the street, over the wall. Many lost their lives in the process of trying to escape from East Germany to freedom in West Germany.  Many succeeded making it to the west by any means necessary, some creative, others daring, and others quite dangerous. Nobody is on record trying to flee to East Germany.

“Wolfgang Engels, a 19-year old East German soldier who helped build the barbed-wire fences that initially separated both Berlins, stole a tank and drove it through the wall itself.” He got caught in the barbed wire and was shot twice but managed to escape. . At the Berlin Wall, Thousands Tried Creative—and Dangerous—Ways to Get Across (history.com)

DDR or East Germany was held under the Communist Party control, with the help of the infamous STASI, the security police. It was a police state, and everyone lived in fear. Nobody could leave if they wanted to.

DDR was NOT a democratic republic, it was a socialist tyranny controlled by the police state under the rule of the Communist Party.

After the Berlin Wall came down and the two Germanys unified in 1989, Angela Merkel became their Chancellor from 2005-2021, the longest ruling chancellor in history. She attended the Karl Marx University where she received a degree in physics and worked in East Berlin; she earned a doctorate in quantum chemistry.

“Some of her former colleagues from the Central Institute of Physical Chemistry claimed that she was active as a secretary for agitation and propaganda at the Institute, though Merkel maintained that she was responsible for cultural affairs.”

Why the citizens of the former 16 states of the Federal Republic of Germany chose to elect her Chancellor, is hard to understand. The entire West Germany had to support the disastrous centralized economy of the East Germans and their poverty resulting from the Communist Party mismanaging and stealing resources for their own wealth.

When oblivious Americans advocate for democratic socialism, they are advocating for a dictatorship. But they think they are advocating for free stuff and government welfare provided by the free market like in the Scandinavian countries. But these Scandinavian countries are not socialist, they support socialized health care and other generous welfare; they have a robust economy derived from free markets and companies that operate without direct government control and pay confiscatory taxes.

Unfortunately for Americans advocating democratic socialism, they will get socialism with the Communist Party controlling the means of production or they will get fascism, where the omnipotent government will control corporations’ means of production and will tell them what to say and do, what to produce and distribute, all in line with the government’s fascist agenda. Unlike what you read online, nazis (fascists) were not far right groups, they were members of the National Socialist Party (Nationalsozialistische Partei).

Advanced Cultural Marxism in America

We already live in an advanced cultural Marxist society even though half of the country is still lulled in the false sense that we are still a Constitutional Republic. We have archived documents in museums that state that we are, but we have lost this Constitutional Republic bit by bit over the last 40 years to judicial activists on the bench, corrupt politicians elected by ignorant citizens, legal aliens, and illegal aliens who do not speak English nor know the history of the United States.

The political class at the helm of our country for almost five decades have made and passed laws to benefit themselves, their quest for power, their Wall Street rich donors, socialist billionaires, corporate powerbrokers, the NGOs lobbyists with deep pockets, donating to their political campaigns, the technocrat radical left who runs this country from their keyboards and blue screens, staffed by third world geeks who do not care about the “democracy” they espouse because they come from countries where democracy does not exist, just naked socialism, corruption, oppression, and crime.

People whisper to their friends that they do not like what is going on, but they are too afraid to speak out or question anything for fear of losing their jobs, licenses, public shaming and ridicule. Cultural communism is here, it has taken over our country, but people are threatened and shamed into silence, submission, and compliance.

Our western culture is being torn apart by its own people, half of whom do not realize that they are doing the bidding of the global communists who have been salivating for decades to take over the only superpower still in the way of globalism, the United States of America.

To reach this point, globalists have painstakingly cultivated and brainwashed the educators in this country, public-school teachers and the academia, to deride and fundamentally destroy our culture and history and to inculcate into American students’ feelings of hatred for their country, their families, and our American culture.

The globalists, with the help of American teachers, have transformed young generations into pliable communist drones by giving them grants, free college tuition, writing and printing their College of Education curricula, donating huge sums of money to foundations in the most influential colleges in the U.S. and educating young foreigners and American young people as social activists, hard core communists who will stop at nothing to destroy their own country and culture and dismantling this nation.

Seventy years of brainwashing in our American schools are finally paying off for the communist globalists. Colleges like Columbia, with refugees from the Frankfurter School in Germany, have been churning out American communist educators for seven decades and their descendants are the teachers in your children’s schools today.

Nothing is left to chance. It is all planned, highly synchronized and harmonized across the globe by the same corporate fascists and political technocrats. Equality, equity, fairness, social justice, BLM violence, Antifa violence, attacks on white people from the supine main stream media, getting their precise and identical orders from the Democrat Party machine, envy, violence, racism against white people, ridiculous and unfounded accusations of white privilege, demonizing the rich, the successful, the smart, demonizing our history, setting races against each other, young against the old, it was planned long ago to destroy society from within.

The struggle of the last two years, social distancing, lockdowns, rules, destroying small businesses, the middle class, protecting large corporations, was not a struggle against Covid-19 virus but a struggle to protect the virus of communism and allowing it to explode to better transform our republic into the planned cultural Marxism. Law-abiding individuals sheepishly complied. By the time people woke up to the ruse, it was already too late. There is no going back, and nothing is reversible. There is no new norm – it is the communist globalist norm run by the United Nations and planned in the boardrooms of organizations like the World Economic Forum.

Educators have been focusing on teaching American students not “how to think” but “what to think” since the early 1980s. A U.S. Department of Education publication dated June 1983, “Computers in Education: Realizing the Potential,” deplored the students’ old-fashion values, attitudes, and beliefs: “Recent studies in science education have revealed that students approach learning with many prior conceptions on their life experiences, which can be obstacles to learning. We need to understand why students’ conceptions persevere so strongly and how they can best be modified.”

Honest subject matter teachers who did not wish to become “facilitators of political and social indoctrination” were viewed as stumbling blocks and “they needed to be retrained to focus on individual needs rather than on content areas” in order to further “the Skinnerian International Curriculum, necessary for the United States’ participation in a socialist one-world government scheduled for the early years of the twenty-first century.” (Charlotte T. Iserbyt)

The radical transformation of America that Obama spoke about five days before his inauguration was facilitated by the “radical transformation of America’s classrooms from places of traditional cognitive/academic learning, where intellectual and academic freedom flourish, into experimental laboratories for psychological (attitude and value) change, using modern technology (the computer for individualized instruction and for administrative management systems) in conjunction with the totalitarian theories of Professor B. F. Skinner and other less well-known social engineers.” As he famously said, “Operant conditioning shapes behavior as a sculptor shapes a lump of clay.” (Charlotte T. Iserbyt)

Generations of children have been Skinner’s lumps of clay whose behavior and minds have been shaped by the Department of Education “educators” into citizens who hate their own country, their flag, their borders, their language, their history, and their culture.

These children are the American adults today who fly the Ukrainian flag in support of a country they do not know anything about, whose history they do not understand, but are determined to defend its borders, language, and culture from afar while they are content with their own American culture being destroyed from within.

These educators have been poisoning the minds of American children for decades that competition is selfish, and students should be taught collectivism, not individualism.

The Common Core curriculum has further dumbed down the educational system across the nation with its infamous common core math to make most students incompetent in STEM fields. The lockdowns of the last two years have exacerbated the lack of teaching and learning in public schools under the guise of fear of a deadly virus.

Victor Davis Hansen wrote so aptly in How America Became La La Land, that “America of the last 14 months resembles a dystopia. It is becoming partly the world of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, partly the poet Homer’s Land of the Lotus Eaters. Nothing is working. And no one in control seems to care.”

There are a few good teachers left, active and retired, who do care, but their voices are drowned out by the army of Socialist Democrats marching to the band of the Department of Education indoctrination agenda to turn America’s students into global citizens beholden to the globalist master plan of the U.N. and the World Economic Forum.

Leftist Democracy is Suffocating

While attending school in the socialist republic paradise ruled by the Communist Party, the curriculum was determined by the communist educators and activists in good standing with the party. As students, if we tried to question the exact narrative printed in the books or repeated by teachers, we were usually told, “democracy has gone to your heads,” how dare you question the wisdom of the party?

This was not unlike what is happening today in American colleges and universities where divergent opinions from the progressive philosophy are not allowed to exist. Yet the same academics shout from the rooftops that non-leftists are endangering “democracy” by their mere existence.

The word “democracy” means different things for different people, depending on their ideology. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines democracy as “government by the people, rule of the majority, a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system or representation usually involving periodically held free elections.”

Would that be “free elections” like the most recent presidential election when a new president-elect emerged, frail, sickly, and unable to gather more than 30 people to his rallies, aided and abetted by fraudulent mail-in ballots, “computer glitches” which added hundreds of thousands of new votes to his count in the middle of the night, opposition ballots disposed of in dumpsters, and boxes of favorable ballots delivered in the middle of the night in unmarked vans?

As I clearly recall, we had “democracy” in name only in socialism, under the rule of the Communist Party, it was their way or the gulag.

Leftists invoke “democracy” every time they want to achieve their goals which are usually not good for the American people. The left are really adept at accusing the other side of what they are doing, hijacking the concept of “democracy” to suit their globalist, anti-American agenda.

Blaming capitalism for the ills created by the left is something that the brainwashed useful idiots protesting in the streets and on campuses will never understand because they have lost contact, or never had it in the first place, with reality and historical facts.

“Empowering workers” and “worker power” have been tried before in the twentieth century with disastrous results in countries like USSR, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, China, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, North Korea, Cuba, and many others ruled by the Communist Party.

Labor activists with plenty of money to burn, money donated by billionaires, used political action, the lying media, protests, and riots, as a form of bargaining to replace the enormous collective bargaining power that unions used to have.

Social justice, racial justice, jobs with justice, fake systemic racism, fake white privilege have become the rallying cry and excuse to destroy capitalism and anyone who stands in their way of bringing back communism, more destructive than ever and on a global scale.

The left is “radically reimagining and redefining” the mission and goals of societies and families across the globe and nobody will stand in their way. Sarcastically stated, what can possibly be more “democratic” than that? Erase borders, education, faith, family, history, nationality, confiscate wealth and redistribute it from producers to welfare recipients, and you have the Democratic Socialism envisioned by American Democrats.

The Democratic Socialism the left is building and advocating in the twenty-first century will drive us exactly in the direction of an “increasingly unstable, undemocratic, unequal, and unsustainable world” they are so busy criticizing capitalism for.

And the future of American workers will be quite bleak as the left pretends to protect them with clever rhetoric, while importing more and more illegal workers into the U.S. and outsourcing more well-paid and skilled American jobs to foreign guest workers who work for a fraction of the pay.

Leftists take pride in making their followers believe that their brand of “democracy” pays workers living wages for doing precious little and gives them free everything that makes life enjoyable.

The “democracy” I experienced under socialism was quite oppressive and the Party paid their workers, the infamous proletariat, barely survivable wages, with no way to improve one’s station in life or their families’ financial future.

The Democratic Socialists of America, founded in 1982, had about eight thousand converts by 1989. Today claims are made that 57 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism and 37 percent of Americans have a positive view of socialism. If you are to believe such Gallup polls, of the 252 million voting-age Americans, 93 million (17 and older) view socialism in a rose-colored glass light.

In a short period of time, the United States moved from America-loving to an America-hating field primed for socialism and global communism.

What enabled such a significant change? The main culprits seem to be the academic halls of powerful indoctrination, Hollywood, billionaire donations to political non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the misinformation of the main stream media fed gradually over decades by Jimmy Carter’s Department of (mis)Education.

The leftist brand of “democracy” is suffocating our formerly free society, turning it into a third world cesspool which will be problematic to escape, given the technocratic control over all levels of government, a swampy multi-headed Hydra fed with our tax dollars and foreign interference in political and economic affairs.

When this leftist brand of “democracy” crashes and burns, the politicians et al, who enabled it, will be long gone and dust in the ground but the globalist citizens, formerly Americans, will suffer the consequences for generations.

Democracy of the Left

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.   - Alexis de Tocqueville

Athenian Democracy Politician Pericles giving a famous

Politicians, their low information voters, and indoctrinated Millennials talk about our endangered democracy when their conservative opponents dare to contradict them. We know, however, that our country is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.

According to the legal dictionary, a constitutional republic consists of three branches, executive, judicial, and legislative which divide the power of the government equally, and the head of the state and other officials are elected by the country’s citizens to represent them.  As is often the case, these representatives, once elected, do not represent the interests of their constituents, of the American people, but their own and those of special interest groups who supported their candidacy.

Our country has a Constitution which limits the government’s power if it is followed. Unfortunately, over the years, it has been ignored and re-interpreted many times by the courts. The Supremes have construed our Constitution to mean something else at times in order to fit a pre-decided outcome, i.e., the Obamacare forced insurance which was deemed a tax by Justice Roberts.

Merriam-Webster defines democracy today as “a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives,” or “the practice or principles of social equality.”

Webster’s defined democracy in 1961 as “a form of government in which the supreme power is lodged in the people collectively.” But collectivism breeds communism and chaos.

In the actual etymological definition of democracy, it means “power of the people.” (demos, Greek for populace, and kratos, Greek for power, strength)

There were and are quite a few totalitarian states that used the word “democracy” or “democratic” in the name of their country, i.e., the German Democratic Republic, the former Soviet satellite nation that ruled its people with the help of the dreaded Stasi.

There was nothing democratic about this state and it was visibly obvious by the Berlin Wall built to keep the East Berliners trapped inside the socialist state, away from the free West Berliners.

The lesser known visually was the infamous Iron Curtain, an actual wall with barbed wire which ran for hundreds of miles the length of the former German Democratic Republic. The watch towers made sure any citizen trying to flee, who was not blown up by the land mines placed strategically around the wall, was shot by soldiers armed with machine guns.

Stalin wrote that “There have been times in the history of our Party [Communist] when the opinion of the majority or the momentary interests of the Party conflicted with the fundamental interests of the proletariat. On such occasions Lenin would never hesitate and resolutely took his stand on principle against the majority of the Party…” In other words, he became the benevolent dictator because he knew best what people wanted.

Lenin was clearer, “Soviet socialist democracy is in no way contradictory to one-man rule and dictatorship, a dictator sometimes fulfills the will of the class.”

In communist rhetoric and semantics, Democracy is a very essential word. Communist nations are ‘people’s democratic republics.’ The communist party declares arrogantly that 98 percent or more of its people show up to vote, approving of the communist regime. Never mind that people were forced by fear of disloyalty charges to come to the precinct to vote and that there was only one candidate on the ballot, such candidate having been approved by the communist party and thus having no power to change anything.

Khrushchev had his own definition of democracy – he drew a parallel between “bourgeois democracy” and “people’s democracy.” In the people’s democracy, the electorate and their representatives are entirely beholden to the communist party leaders, the proletariat, peasants, and intellectuals. In the bourgeois democracy, he said, the representatives serve lawyers, bankers, consortiums, monopolies, members of boards, leading corporations, etc.

He said, “Bourgeois democracy is the democracy of the rich. Under it the popular masses are pushed aside from administration; the popular masses cannot take part in the discussion and decision of social and political questions concerning the people as a whole. Thousands of obstacles are raised before the working class of the capitalist countries in order to prevent any of the workers from getting into Parliament or Congress….” (Conquest Without War, 1961, p. 372)

According to socialists/communists the one-party state serves the interests of the proletariat best. (See the disaster that is California, a one-party state) Socialists believe that “Only in undemocratic countries do several parties exist.”

Lenin believed that “The state belongs to the sphere of coercion. It would be madness to renounce coercion, particularly in the epoch of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Stalin explained that under the dictatorship of the proletariat the bourgeoisie would have no universal freedom, no freedom of speech, press, assembly. The state would grant maximum of freedom to the “proletarian strata in town and country and deny even a minimum of freedom to the remnants of the bourgeoisie.”

The dictatorship of the proletariat was “the working-class leadership in the struggle to overthrow the power of capital, to win and consolidate people’s government and build a communist society.” (p. 377)

The Soviet Bolsheviks stated that “It was precisely socialist democracy that enabled the Soviet people to get rid of such ‘freedoms’ as the right to choose one’s exploiter or to be unemployed, the right to starve or to be a hired slave to capital.”

I do remember being extremely hungry under Ceausescu’s socialist democracy and standing in long food lines daily in order to avoid starvation. I am extremely glad that I can choose my employer under capitalism, that there is capital to start new businesses, and there are entrepreneurs with ideas, who know how to start a new enterprise that would hire employees to do the job necessary, not a communist community organizer who has never created anything useful in society except empty words and chaos.

The Bolsheviks described themselves as the defenders of the poor and of the downtrodden. It is how Socialist Democrats portray themselves today.

Alexis de Tocqueville said, “Despotism often presents itself as the repairer of all the ills suffered, the support of just rights, defender of the oppressed, and founder of order.” Millions of survivors of communism would agree with Tocqueville and 100 million of victims of communism validate his assessment.

When Hugo Chavez, the former socialist dictator of Venezuela, cracked down on protesters against his regime, George Ciccariello-Maher, then a professor at Drexel University, defended the state violence against its protesting people as “a radically democratic brutality and dictatorship of the wretched of the earth.”

Rand Paul wrote in his book, The Case Against Socialism, “Oh my… ‘egalitarian brutality’… ‘democratic brutality’ - so much for democratic elections restraining the excesses of socialism.” According to Paul, Ciccariello-Maher tweeted infamously, “All I want for Christmas is White Genocide” and doubled down on his outrageous statement with the explanation “when the whites were massacred during the Haitian revolution, that was a good thing.” (p. 13)

The rhetoric of Socialist Democracy promoted by Bernie Sanders and his pupil, AOC, is growing shriller on the socialist-dominated media’s talking points. It is a rhetoric inflated by ignorance and lack of historical knowledge. Sanders calls for a “higher path, a path of compassion, justice, and love.” He calls it democratic socialism. Is this justice delivered by black-clad Antifa thugs with baseball bats?

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all of God’s children.” Democrats include in this redistribution of wealth scheme every illegal who walks across our borders, to the detriment of our own citizens, their children, and grandchildren.

Call it what you may, what Democrats and their ignorant followers want through democratic socialism is plain redistribution of wealth, stealing from those who earned it and giving it to those who did not, forced global equality through government theft - not just through excessive taxation but also through theft of private property.

Democrat socialists also want the erasure of our borders, the destruction of our sovereignty. The Treaty of Westphalia in 1648 provided the basis of the modern state system and of the concept of territorial sovereignty. The treaty brought an end to endless European wars between different factions and principalities.

As Tocqueville said, “Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom… The subjection of individuals will increase amongst democratic nations, not only in the same proportion as their equality, but in the same proportion as their ignorance.”

The Prison that is Socialism

Photo: Ileana Johnson 2015

Imagine a large prison with beautiful mountains that you are not allowed to climb because you are too poor to afford the gear and you must get a permit from the warden. These mountains grow blue spruce and pine forests where bears and other creatures dwell but you cannot visit because important people are hunting brown bears and they’ve paid huge sums to shoot them under the supervision of the game warden.
If you wanted to hunt, it would not be possible because you did not have a license or a hunting rifle. Such weapons had been confiscated from the entire prison population long ago. But the warden and his men are well-armed and prepared to round up the bears or whatever God’s creatures his higher-ups were in the mood to slaughter for sport with their high power rifles.

This prison has beautiful rivers but you don’t own boats and canoes, only those who control the prison can afford expensive boats and licenses to go fishing or to spend leisurely afternoons on the water and on special lakes reserved only for those in power. Some of the rivers are the pride and joy of the elites, but most are heavily polluted by industrial activity because the watchers don’t care about environmental conservation.

This prison has cinder block towers for the residents forced off the land and crowded onto nine-story blocks made of reinforced concrete. The captives within can go about on foot, by train, by bike, and by rickety buses.

They are told how much they can eat and how many calories they can consume daily. It is degrading to be forced to stand in line to get daily rations of food but they are used to it if they want to survive. If they are lucky, they can find better choices twice a year, on Easter and at Christmas.

There are churches that perform baptisms, marriages, and burials. Church bells can be heard joyously ringing on religious holidays but sadly when someone passes. Death is inevitable for those in power and the prisoners alike, they are all equal eventually.

Nobody lives better than their neighbors but they look with envy at the wealth of their captors. The block informers make sure there is a detailed dossier on the comings and goings of every prisoner. Once in a while, a few are rewarded for their loyalty with a trip to a wellness spa with mineral waters and stinking Sulphur baths with magical healing properties.  The majority is not loyal; captive subjects just gave up any resistance in the face of utter defeat, mental and physical. They are very tired, overwhelmed, and in survival mode.

The mountains are rich in minerals and gold, but nobody can go explore even though everyone owns the mountains. If they start digging or even ask to dig, they get arrested for trespassing and theft.

If you want to travel, you have to have enough money saved from your hard labor and ask permission from the state police which is in charge of giving out passes. The police always says no unless the prisoner is an exceptional athlete or musical genius in which case they are told yes but a security police guard follows them around the clock to make sure that they do not escape this beautiful prison built specifically to keep everyone in.

Food is scarce in this well-maintained and state of the art prison; everyone is thin, but not necessarily healthy as nutrition lacks a lot to be desired. People are not given vitamins or supplements unless they are really sick when often time it is too late.

The theoretically trained doctors experiment on the prison population with no consequence for their mistakes. How can one sue the watchers? There is nobody to watch the watchers, they do what they want.

The hospitals are oozing decay and negligence; equipment is rusty, sheets are stained and torn, medicine is missing, and if a prisoner is 70 years old, he/she is left to die because they are old anyway, they’d lived long enough; and the prisoners have no one to complain to or to protect them, crowded as they are in the large wards with chicken wire beds and rusty metal stands which were once painted white. Dubious stains cover the dirty walls, the floors, and even the mattresses.

Patients can pray to God in beautiful churches or in their cells but it seems that priests have forgotten them and are favoring the elites. The church has become an instrument of manipulation, preaching the agenda of the highest contributor. God is definitely lost in the incense wafting from a priest’s silver censer.

It looks dystopian inside but to the world, the outdoors is breathtakingly beautiful and the streets are clean. The prison warden has armies of gypsy bees sweeping the streets and, if as much as a cigarette butt is thrown on the ground, the offender is taught a painful and expensive lesson.

This prison has clean schools where directed curriculum is strict and approved by the chief warden, followed religiously by thousands of busy teacher bees supervised by principals with a waspy demeanor. Prisoners pay for all these equal benefits with their lack of freedom, pretending to work every day while the prison system pretends to pay them in their paternalistic generosity.

Many prisoners tried to escape this jail by cutting the barbed wire at the border, making a run for it and getting shot, or swimming across the large southern river and drowning. Few managed to flee and escape this prison. Many paid the ultimate price while attempting to find freedom.

The democracy spelled out in the socialist republic’s constitution was often hurled at these prisoners as a threat that democracy had gone to their heads and they better behave or else.

This dystopian prison country was the police state called socialism. One day the prisoners had had enough exploitation and mounted a revolution with the help of the army, arrested the socialist dictator who was trying to escape by helicopter, and executed him and his wife after a brief trial.

That free men and women from other societies want this kind of prison in their countries today, it is baffling to those who escaped the police state called socialism.

Progressives Are Not Giving Up, the War Rages On

There is some hope for America as the dark cloud of global communism has temporarily dissipated. We won this battle but the war rages on with a vengeance. The Democrat coffers are full and young people are bought and duped with ease. The New World Order, the communist insurgency, is almost complete.

The Democrat left is now going after the Electoral College members to change their votes from their state’s winner, Donald Trump, to the Democrat loser. Their campaign of intimidation, threats, paid rioters, and fake outrage coming from liberal, anti-American campuses, is supported non-stop by the MSM rhetoric of hate and division and Hollywood turned bad role-model know-it-alls.

Progressives know that this is the only way, to beat citizens down until they agree to elect presidents by popular vote. When they do, the communists will have succeeded in permanently altering elections in the U.S. The over-populated Democrat coastal states will forever determine the elections, the rest of the country will become irrelevant, and globalists will rule.

“The West has won the Cold War but there is now more communism in the West than ever before.” The Americans’ idea of fighting global communism is sporting popular license plates with the Gadsden flag, “Don’t tread on me,”and “Coexist” bumper stickers.

Tom DeWeese, President of the American Policy Center, stated in a recent article,

“They know full well that they aren’t going to overturn the election. These privately-funded forces are being used to create pressure to destroy the Electoral College so they won’t have to deal with it next election. This is how the Left operates. Make a big deal over here to force the hidden agenda over there. The plan is to make enough trouble that Congress will move to abolish the EC to get some peace.”

And who is behind this effort? In DeWeese’s opinion, “One only has to watch to see which member of Congress proposes such action. The answer of course is California Senator Barbara Boxer. It only took a week after the election for her to come to the rescue of the broken and distraught Left.” http://fairfaxfreecitizen.com/2016/11/22/the-anti-trump-riots-are-a-smoke-screen-the-real-goal-eliminate-the-electoral-college/

A large and diverse crowd at the Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio, witnessed the U.S. citizenship ceremony presided by the federal Judge, John Primomo. The federal Judge took the opportunity to scold the newly-minted American citizens, who have taken an oath of allegiance under one flag, that Donald Trump is their President Elect.

“I can assure you that whether you voted for him or you did not vote for him, if you are a citizen of the United States, he is your president. He will be your president and if you do not like that, you need to go to another country.”

He criticized the protesters who shout disrespectfully and carry signs that read, “He is not my president.” Judge Primomo also condemned athletes who bend a knee during the national anthem.

“I detest that, because you can protest things that happen in this country; you have every right to. You don’t do that by offending national symbols like the national anthem and the flag of the United States.” http://www.kens5.com/news/politics/federal-judge-if-you-dont-like-trump-you-should-go-to-another-country/353652060

The federal magistrate judge for the Western District of Texas was promptly suspended because he offended leftist sensibilities. The federal district judges in San Antonio “have determined that he will no longer be handling citizenship ceremonies, and the judges are meeting with him to see how this matter can be resolved and concluded.” http://www.governing.com/topics/politics/tns-primomo-judge-trump.html

Americans are the luckiest people on the planet yet the paid anarchists came out for $15 an hour to say that America was never great, that we are a racist and intolerant country. If that is the case why are people around the world flocking to America? Are they doing it for the generous welfare system?

What is wrong with these misguided Americans? Have they ever traveled to an intolerant totalitarian regime that kills and stones women to death and pushes gays off buildings? Have they had to do without food, a place to live, without their beloved smart devices, without their automobiles, without abundant grocery stores filled with food to the brim, without toilet paper, without medical care, drugs, hospitals, and a clean bed? Were they stopped for I.D. checks, arrested, beaten, tortured? Do they understand how lucky they are to have been born in the one country that has been the envy of the world, the country they are so eager to destroy?

We keep hearing from this administration and the left, “This is not the American way, this is not who we are.” What is the American way? Is the American way what progressives decide? Is the American way what globalists, the Islamists, and the gay lobby decide? If we disagree with them, and we do, they are going to ram the leftist communist ideology down our throats. If we protest, we are racists, islamophobes, bigots, homophobes, and all the other words the suffix “phobe” can be attached to. The Islamophiles and Marxist media continue their indoctrination of the silent masses and of the youth.

America embraces gays, tolerates the burning of our flag, the desecration of tombs and cemeteries, of historical monuments, tolerates moronic athletes who talk about racism when they live in multi-million dollar homes and are raised by white people, tolerates leftist college students who are so brainwashed and scared of their own shadow, they need a safe space away from reality.

America is so tolerant that they give degrees to people who should have never been given admission to a college, socially promotes people based on the color of their skin, not necessarily on their achievement or merit because we have quotas.

America is so tolerant, it’s being invaded by outsiders who don’t want to become Americans; they want to destroy America. Americans open their homes, their hearts, and their pocketbooks and they put these invaders on welfare while their own veterans die waiting to be cared for in VA hospitals. Veterans live modestly on insufficient pensions while illegals receive larger paychecks the moment they set foot on our soil.

Americans are so tolerant that they turn a blind eye and deaf ears to the race baiting coming non-stop from this administration, to the murder of police, to the destructive paid rioting that has only one goal in mind, to replace our constitutional republic’s electoral process with the popular vote driven by mob rule.

Americans turn a blind eye to the invasion from our southern border, to the Reconquista sanctioned by La Raza who believes America is rightfully theirs.

America is so tolerant that we give nukes and billions in aid to countries that are sponsors of terrorism, to countries that hate Americans and wish us harm, to countries that kidnap our citizens. Americans protect the ungrateful Europeans who snub our culture and demonstrate a disdain, hatred, and anti-Americanism never before exhibited.

Americans are so tolerant that we allowed our public schools to become indoctrination farms into global communism with the help of Common Core, the Department of Education, and the vaunted collegiate academia. Their pupils are now among those who are pushing for “forward,” “hope and change,” “fundamental transformation,” “social justice,” impossible “equality,” and replacing our Constitutional Republic with a “democracy” ruled by anarchists. As such, the Electoral College, an important element of our republic, must be destroyed, no more checks and balances.

There is more hate, intolerance, disinformation, and lies coming from the progressive left than we can possibly quantify in a lifetime. Until we change the entire education system back to patriotic American values, citizenship, culture, borders, family, freedom of faith, and accurate American history, we are not going to win the war against the globalists.
