Capitalism is Oppressive, Give Us Free Socialism

“There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone has to pay for it.”

The American socialist politicians are promising their voting constituents through such figures as Barney Sanders, the politician from Vermont whose economic fortunes have improved drastically since he ran for president, and the socialist Cortez from the Bronx who, although she has a degree from a prestigious and very expensive school, does not know anything about Economics or geopolitics, by her own admission, and shows her lack of knowledge every time she opens her mouth.

But her ignorance does not stop her equally ignorant followers to support her generous promise of free rewards:  health care, higher education, child care, and housing. Who can resist the promise of Santa Clause?

Higher education is hardly worth the paper the diplomas are printed on when the majors are social justice, women’s studies, racial justice, and other community organizing subjects that the young American communists are “studying” in droves.

Cortez has no idea how she’s going to pay for everything free she promised but Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts proposes to nationalize private industry. She can’t let private property stand in the way of establishing a socialist nation where the means of production are owned by the state. https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/08/elizabeth-warren-plan-nationalize-everything-woos-hard-left/

In addition to the “Trump Derangement Syndrome” which afflicts millions of Democrat voters, statism has become the platform of the Democrat Party, which is now a very socialist version of its former self.

Ayn Rand defined statism as “collectivism, the belief that a man’s life and work belong to the state, to society, to the group, the gang, the race, the nation, and the state may dispose of him in any way it pleases for the sake of whatever it deems to be its own tribal, collective good.” http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/statism.html

Fabian socialists like H.G. Wells and George Bernard Shaw would be very proud of our American youth today. Like their European counterparts, they want to reach the goals of socialism through political process and legislative bodies in order to avoid revolution or armed struggle.

Guns, after all, in the hands of ordinary citizens are dangerous, they must be disarmed. In their opinion, only the wise government should have arms. We can see how well that is working in Europe where citizens have nothing to defend themselves with against the Muslim invaders.

Europeans are not allowed free speech. If they try to speak against those who do them harm each day, they wind up in kangaroo courts and then given jail terms for hate speech.

Young American voters love the idea of a Fabian socialist welfare state in the vein of the European states that have such generous welfare and high taxes. Small European nations boast about higher college education rates. In addition to free tuition, they give monthly stipends to their studious populace that can take as long as six years to finish their bachelor’s degrees.

Who would not want to get paid to “study” for six years at the expense of taxpayers who foot the bill and willingly pay as much as 56% of their income so that their dwindling progeny can get a leisurely college degree?

Their Fabian socialism college graduates are now living in the formerly homogenous but now multiculturalist societal dream that is turning into a nightmare of their own making, caused by the tolerant admittance into their midst of endless economic refugees from Africa and the Middle East, refugees who refuse to integrate and are creating violent chaos across Europe.

What a great model to emulate here in the United States! After all, the Democrats and some Republicans alike have deemed that we are not diverse and tolerant enough; we must be forced with the help of the tin pot dictators at the U.N. into population social engineering submission.

So what is free under socialism in general that is worth having? In the true socialism society I grew up in, education was free until you decided to move to another country and then you had to pay back all the education you received. The state explained that someone else, i.e. the evil capitalists, was going to benefit from the stellar education you received.

Colleges had a limited amount of seats at each university and the competition was fierce. Only a very small percentage of the high school graduates made it to college. And there were no private colleges allowed. The rest had to study in a trade school or find a job working for the state in a menial proletarian job.

Just because you had the best of grades and higher education was free, it did not necessarily mean that you got in. The children of Communist Party members in good standing were admitted first, no question asked and no exams were necessary. The remaining seats were given to the candidates with the highest scores on various college entrance exams.

Some parents chose to bribe the committee members and their children had secondary dibs. Eventually, the best, the brightest, and most studious competed and were ranked for the remaining seats.

Child care and kindergarten were free too, but the seats were limited, much less than the number of children and there was a pecking order which placed the children of the proletariat last.

Health care was also free but it was hardly worth the poor services provided. The wait was long, the surgeons marginally qualified, and the drugs needed to care for the sick were missing from pharmacies due to the ignorant central planning by the Communist Party.

Housing was not free, the proletariat had to pay what the statists decided and it was Spartan and very small in large concrete block apartments without elevators. The exception was nine-story or higher buildings in which elevators were found but broken most of the time. The upside was that people were forced to walk and climb a lot and had good cardio workout and nobody was fat.

Aside from the “freebees” I mentioned, nothing else was free and there was no free speech allowed. You could choose to speak freely but then you were quickly disappeared, never to be seen again.

European Fabian socialists don’t exactly live in the lap of luxury either. Apartment residents are often multi-generational, sharing the same space with mom, dad, siblings, grandma, and grandpa. And apartment renting rights are passed on from generation to generation in a will. Owning a home or a condo is quite expensive and the waiting lists for government housing are quite long.

This is the paradise pure socialism and Fabian socialism bring. Perhaps Cortez, the Latina from the Bronx, should spend some time in Venezuela to experience on her own spoiled capitalist skin what socialism brings to a formerly wealthy country.

Socialism, Failure, and the Progressive Deception

A 1989 video exposed the socialist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu visiting a Bucharest grocery store and a bread store.  Greeted outside the door with flowers which he unceremoniously dumped into the arms of his minions, Ceausescu waved at the “adoring crowds.” He touched a few loaves of bread as if he really cared about what his people ate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxao_-TZ840

The shelves were bursting with food, bread, pastries, salamis, cheeses, meat, sugar, cooking oil, and other items that the poor citizens fought over in endless lines every day and often came home empty-handed, dreaming about a delicious meal while staring at their empty kitchens.

This abundance had just been delivered and neatly arranged for the dictator’s visit. The employees looked mortified, standing at attention in their white lab coats, applauding the dear leader like he was an adulated rock star.

The cult of personality had to be fed constantly by the pretend-adoring crowds who were forced to stand in sun, rain, or snow to applaud him where ever he happened to be or pass by.  As soon as the dictator left, the just-delivered food was taken away, leaving behind the empty and dark shelves the equally miserable and exploited “proletariat” was accustomed to.

Venezuela is going through similar and very serious shortages of food right now. People are digging through dumpsters to find scraps. This is what Hugo Chavez and his socialist followers have done to a country with rich oil reserves, it has destroyed it to the point that the middle class fled and gangs are killing people for a loaf of bread. Socialism has all but destroyed their country and their previous prosperity.

Chavez had promised equality, fairness, free Castro-style health care for all, the end of corruption, yet he and his cronies have stolen billions for their own estates, and the health care system is ruined.

Socialists like Ceausescu and Chavez have killed economic growth by throwing in jail the successful, stealing their wealth and distributing it to the masses in the name of social justice. When failure is rewarded at the expense of success, economic growth is destroyed. Who in their right mind is going to try harder knowing that their work will be stolen and distributed to moochers? More and more people give up, pretending to work and waiting for the socialist handouts like the proverbial starving goose. It is a vicious cycle of failure and poverty, covered up with lies for the fools who believe.

To keep people under control, communists and socialists punished free speech even though their constitution encouraged free speech on paper. But those who dared to exercise their right to free speech were jailed. “Look at your college campuses which have become mini North Koreas, that’s what happens when they are run by socialists,” said Dr. Savage in a recent radio show.

Socialist dictatorships encouraged people to rat on their relatives. School children were interrogated by their teachers to find out what their parents thought or discussed at home. Once they got that information, the parents were arrested in the middle of the night, never to be seen again.

The massive bureaucracy and propaganda required to maintain the socialist state created such strife and division that families were broken up and orphaned children, whose parents were jailed or shot, became wards of the state in the many orphanages where brainwashing took place to such an extent that it turned them into drones beholden to the dear leader, transformed into the dictator’s youth brigades.

The police, the military, the secret police, and all journalists groveled at the feet of the dictator Ceausescu and his evil wife, Elena.

The socialism practiced today in many places has attacked successful people, taxed them unfairly, and redistributed their wealth to illegals.  Some of these invited invaders were hard core criminals or suffering from diseases not ever seen in this country or previously eradicated. The bad economy has destroyed Americans’ ability to find suitable work and, in many cases, the desire to work.

Despite reports of a rosy economy and a published unemployment rate of 4.7 percent, there is a cycle of poverty that is going to increase. As more successful people are penalized, less and less people will want to work hard to achieve the American dream. When that happens, the economy slows down, taxes are raised, the burden of taxation becomes unbearable, and companies move overseas.  The not so Affordable Care Act further drives small and large companies alike to cut back on the hours of their employees so that they don’t have to subsidize health insurance they cannot afford.

Bringing in diseased “refugees” and illegals who do not wish to integrate into American society but want to transform it into the hellhole they’ve escaped from, “is suicidal and homicidal,” said Dr. Savage.

Savage added, “Look what our colleges have become, infested with socialists who have named themselves progressives.” A more accurate description would be regressives as they are trying to take away our freedom of speech, the right to own guns, and forcing us to return to a lifestyle more suited for the pre-industrial age.

Opposition and divergent opinions have become all but verboten on U.S. campuses.

“Socialism requires propaganda, intimidation, protection in order for it to survive.  Socialism cannot survive daylight and honest debate,” said Savage. Socialism leads to a growing tyrannical government, spying on people, taking their freedoms away, and passing punitive speech laws for daring to criticize Muslims, hate speech laws whereby the definitions are strictly developed by progressives. And the environmental global communism will destroy the rest with its sustainable development, green growth everything, wind turbines, solar power, and the hyper-interdiction of fossil fuels through impossible regulations.

It makes one wonder what is wrong with so many young Americans who think that the socialist ideology is compatible with freedom and flock to the two Democrat Party candidates who are overt socialists and Marxists. Do they really understand and know history? Or are they lulled by the Fabian socialism of the failed multi-culturalism of European nations that are drowning in debt and in violent Muslim refugees?

Food Justice Has Arrived

“Food is one of the only base human needs where the American government lets the private market dictate its delivery to our communities.” Rush Limbaugh added to this quote from the February 21, 2012 article in the New York Times, “but not for long.” Limbaugh dedicated part of his March 6 show to Tracie McMillan, a political science major who wrote a book on nutrition entitled, “The American Way of Eating.”

McMillan decries the fact that the free market decides food delivery. She proclaims that, unless government controls food delivery and supply, food injustice will continue to dominate this country. She said, “Expensive food that took time to prepare, wasn’t for people like us,” meaning blue-collar families.

As a mom and wife, I disagree.  Food that takes time to prepare is cheaper than any boxed meals you can buy in the grocery store. Potato chips and other snacks, ounce per ounce, are also more expensive than nutritious foods prepared at home. The ingredients may seem more expensive initially, but the quantity prepared in the end is larger and feeds more people, allowing for refrigeration and freezing for later use. The price per meal is thus cheaper than any fast food or prefabricated food.

According to McMillan, average Americans are denied good and fresh food. The statement is disingenuous because poor families receive electronic food benefits cards, formerly known as food stamps. Currently, 43 million Americans are on food stamps, the highest number in any administration. Additionally, their children receive 2-3 free meals at school, which, thanks to Michelle Obama’s efforts, are quite nutritious.

There is nothing in the world that prevents any American, rich or poor, from purchasing fresh ingredients in order to prepare wholesome foods. Nobody twists their arms to buy potato chips, beer, candy, and boxed meals that are not as healthy as meals prepared at home. The average American household spends 15 percent of their income on food, one of the lowest percentages in the developed world.

The ultimate liberal goal is not a fair distribution of fresh food. The market distributes goods according to supply and demand and manufacturers distribute their products according to demand. The intent is to take away our freedoms. Food is now a variable of class struggle and a form of discrimination because “the poor and downtrodden are getting junk food while the snobs get fancy food.”

According to food police at school, your mom does not know what is best for you, your government does, following Michelle Obama’s nutrition dictates. Food and the distribution of food has become a social issue in the collectivist/socialist ideology. We must all be equal in the leftist view and the government must step in to regulate food distribution and delivery.

“Average, ordinary Americans, the 99 percent, are denied expensive food that takes time to prepare.” McMillan “stares at America’s bounty, noting that so few seem able to share in it fully and she asks: ‘What would it take for us all to eat well?’” (Rush Limbaugh)

“Food is one of the only base human needs where the American government lets the private market dictate its delivery to our communities.” Tracie McMillan is thus saying, “Capitalism and the private sector are discriminating against the average, ordinary American by not delivering him quality food.” Perhaps bringing in government food agents to check children’s boxed lunches in school as it happened in North Carolina recently would solve the quandary of proper food delivery and nutrition.

I should tell McMillan about basic economics, the price mechanism that assigns the highest prices to the goods in greatest demand and then allows individual consumers to pursue their own self-interests. Price acts as a rationing device. Available supplies are distributed to match different consumer preferences as well as possible. If a centrally planned economy, socialist or communist, rations food by distributing the same amount to everyone, then everybody ends up with less of everything, sometimes experiencing severe shortages. The price system or the capitalist system allows each consumer to set his or her own priorities. If the left wants equality, then efficiency goes out the window.

Central government planning was so bad under socialism/communism that we were issued rationing coupons and a black market emerged. Government did not know best, it created chronic shortages of food and starvation, and a depressed and gaunt population, fighting in long lines on a daily basis for the last liter of milk, loaf of bread, bones stripped of meat, pat of butter, pound of flour or sugar, liter of oil, or kilo of shriveled potatoes.

The capitalist economy allocates resources well - what to produce, how to produce it, and how to distribute the resulting goods, without any central direction from the government or concern for the public interest. Socialists/communists have predicted that such unplanned system would result in chaos. However, the socialist/communist economies degenerated into dismal failures and were rejected by the people while the capitalist economic system thrived. Even Karl Marx admitted,” Capitalism is the most powerful mode of production available.”

The price mechanism or Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” always ranks potential consumers of food in the order of the intensity of their preference for that food, as indicated by the amount they are willing to spend on it.

The logic of Economics 101 flies in the face of the left and its newest “food justice” platform. The left never lets logic deter them from their true agenda, taking away our freedoms to choose, installing social justice, environmental justice, now food justice, and completing the radical transformation of America into Fabian Socialism.
