Bogart and a Violin

Photo: Ileana's cross-stitch 1992
A friend reminded me through a touching story that, despite the fact that we are experiencing heavy hearts each day as our country we love so much sinks further into depression, strife, and irreparable damage, we should take time to notice something beautiful in our lives every day. Some say that living well is the best revenge.  Is this revenge against the inexorable passage of time?

This morning, as always, I fed my purring cat, my 14 year old Bogart. He knows his name and perks up when I call him. While I clean his litter box with a mask on, he touches my legs with his snow white paws. His beautiful blue eyes stare at my face and my every move. Heavily co-dependent, he meows for attention the whole time. He is so old that not even the birds coming to the feeder outside seem to mind his presence – he has become part of the landscape, a garden statue, a former threat who is no longer eager to chase and kill anyone. I cannot imagine my mornings without him. He climbs the steps painfully in synch with my steps, not an inch ahead. He turns his head sideways to make sure I am right beside him like a child afraid to lose sight of his mom.

We make strange attachments in life. My former literature teacher in high school brought so much joy and light into our drab existence with his lively presence and his violin. The lovely instrument came to life when he touched the strings. He always chose a song he felt expressed the mood of the characters and the story line in the piece of literature we were studying. Some students, mischievous and immature, chuckled and snickered, while the rest of us were mesmerized. He filled my heart with music and made my imagination soar in the depth of despair and misery we lived every day. I felt like an eagle for a few minutes, soaring to freedom in the blue sky.

He took his violin everywhere. Sadly, I forgot his name, but etched in my memory are his snow white hair, his face, and his grey, well-worn, but impeccably pressed suit. His expressive eyes would close with the softer notes as if transported on the wings of an angel to a faraway place that brought him inner happiness and peace. I’d like to think that somewhere in Heaven my former literature teacher is playing music for the angels.

I sometimes close my eyes when I’m in the forest, surrounded by dense trees, wild flowers, and birds chirping. I hear a symphony of masterful sounds created by God and remember my teacher and his violin.

The Breakdown of Family and the Degradation of Society

I was surprised by the statement made by former Florida governor Jeb Bush at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference in 2013. “Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans. Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.” (Aaron Blake, Jeb Bush: U.S. Economy needs immigrants because they’re ‘more fertile,’ Washington Post, June 14, 2013)

Washington Post reported that, “for the first time, white deaths in the United States outnumbered White births. Population grew because of growth among Hispanics, African-Americans and immigrants.” The non-Hispanic whites as reported by the Census Bureau represent 63 percent of the population and the number of deaths vs. births was a paltry 12,400 when compared to the 198 million non-Hispanic whites.

Demographic suicide of the west is certainly proven by birth statistics. Few of the western nations are having 2.1 babies per family needed to replace the ageing population. The fertile explosion in the birth rate of legal and illegal immigrants brought into Europe from North Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East will replace the senescent western population as early as 2025 in some countries.

The Congressional Research Service, which has been informing Congress on various issues for 100 years, has released a report recently on non-marital births in the U.S. http://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R43667/pdf

Carmen Solomon-Fears, Specialist in Social Policy, reported that the percentage of non-marital births has remained steady at 41 percent for the past six years, a dramatic increase from 1940 when such births were a low 3.8 percent.  What changed?

Societal attitudes about fertility, contraception, abortion, and marriage driven by the “sexual revolution” made it acceptable and legal to use abortion as a contraceptive, while men evaded the responsibility of marrying the women they’ve impregnated.

More than half of non-marital births are of couples who live in a cohabiting relationship. The shame of producing offspring out of wedlock disappeared when churches started celebrating pregnant teens on Mother’s Day and the federal government became the Daddy and gave generous welfare and medical care to single mothers. According to Solomon, “Women ages 20-24 currently have the largest share of non-marital births.” (CRS R43667, July 30, 2014)

Solomon-Fears said, “The entry of more and more women into the paid labor force also made childbearing outside of marriage more economically feasible.” The belief that “parents should stay in unhappy marriage for the sake of the children” began to disappear after the 1960s.

Divorce became acceptable as adults centered on their happiness as opposed to the health and happiness of their children. “Marriage is now more likely to be viewed through a framework of adult fulfillment rather than through a framework of child well-being.” (Kathryn Edin and Maria Kefalas, “Promises I Can Keep: Why Poor Women Put Motherhood Before Marriage,” University of California Press, 2005, p. 136)

The typical age for first marriage in the U.S. is 27 for women and 29 for men.  Even though cohabiting relationships are less stable than marriage, lasting two years as opposed to 8 years for marriage, “cohabitation has now become a common method of family formation.”

Unwed mothers’ characteristics are:

-          Black women are more likely to have children outside of marriage than other racial or ethnic groups

-          Women in their twenties have highest percentage of births outside of marriage

-          Less educated women are more commonly single mothers

-          44 percent of out of wedlock births are to women who had already given birth to one or more children

-          Women who have non-marital birth are less likely to marry than other women

-          A large number of unwed mothers are in a cohabiting relationship (CRS, R43667, p. 12)

Statistics for 2013 show that:

-          40.6% of all U.S. births were to unmarried women

-          71.4% of births to black women were non-marital births

-          The percentage of non-marital births for American Indians or Alaska Natives was 66.4%

-          The non-marital birth percentage was 53.2% for Hispanic women

-          29.3% for non-Hispanic white women

-          17.0% for Asian or Pacific Islander women.

(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Vital Statistics Reports, vol. 63, no.2, “Births: Preliminary Data for 2013,” by Brady E. Hamilton, Joyce A. Martin, Michelle J.K. Osterman, and Sally C. Curtin, May 29, 2014)

Gary Cobb, the former NFL linebacker, who is now running for office in New Jersey, attributed the success of his siblings and his family to the fact that, no matter how poor, their father was always there to discipline them and give them proper guidance.

He described President Lyndon Johnson’s ‘Great Society’ anti-poverty program as a destructive force in black families, encouraging many black fathers to leave their families when single mothers were given more aid than a married couple in a family unit.  “It was an incentive for the man to leave the home, and it’s destroyed African-American families throughout the country,” Cobb said in a recent interview. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/08/09/lbj-destroyed-african-american-families-former-nfl-player-reveals-what-led-him-to-the-gop/

There are many variables that contributed to the breakdown of family values, of family in general, and the degradation of society.

-          Atheist-based education under the excuse of separation of church and state unless it’s a religion that liberals promote

-          Political correctness forcing the depraved minority values on the entire society promoted as speech censorship

-          The welfare/nanny state engendering lack of personal responsibility

-          Political corruption from top to bottom

-          Big money and Big Labor run politics and they run our lives

-          Elitist/globalist thinking that they can tell us and dictate to us through regulatory environmentalist actions what is good for our families

-          Change in the definition and meaning of marriage

-          No moral compass

-          The MSM brainwashed young and old into moral equivalency, taking more often the side of the criminal, spending inordinate amounts of time, money, and energy trying to explain why a criminal has committed the crime and ignoring the victims

-          Cartel drug culture and prescription drugs for psychoses

-          Irrational mass hysteria over the cult of personality

-          Reality TV giving a false sense of life and its meaning

-          Pornography and other deviant means of entertainment

-          Dumbing down of education; nobody is allowed to fail; we are all equal and special; narcissism; the ME generation; overinflated self-esteem; rewards for non-existent accomplishments

-          Self-mutilation inside and out through horrid piercings and tattoos

-          Lack of character building, blaming society for one’s failures, not taking responsibility for one’s actions and choices in life

-          Illegal invasion of non-assimilating ethnic groups that dilute or obliterate our national identity and sovereignty, destroying our “borders, language, and culture”

-          The progressive revisionism of our history, portraying American families, heroes, and values as evil

-          Affirmative action and the race baiters who are dialing up their divisive rhetoric

-          A long-running depressed economy coupled with high unemployment that destroys the breadwinner’s self-esteem, hope for the future, and disrupts the family’s existence.

The family must now exist and function in a country that is no longer a constitutional republic but a crony system of third world banana republic corruption with 100 million Americans unemployed or on the dole. The family is looking up for salvation to a president who is a head fundraiser, in perennial community organizing mode, promising to fight for the middle class against the very policies he has implemented that are destroying the middle class economically and morally.

The Middle Class, Refugees in their Own Country

“We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us.” - Anonymous

Red Sunset, Photo: Ileana Johnson, 2012
My reality today in America, the former “land of the free, home of the brave” is crony capitalism ruled by an anti-American socialist/Marxist regime.  I feel like the musicians on the Titanic.

A border guard, who asked a truck driver coming into the U.S. if he was an American citizen, was met with the surprising question, “Does it really matter anymore?” The border guard’s answer, after he waved the trucker on through, was even more shocking, “Not really.”

The reality in my former daily communist life was encapsulated in an anonymous play on words that goes like this:

“Everybody had a job; although everybody had a job, nobody was really working; even though nobody was working, the communist five-year plan was always fulfilled 100 percent; although the plan was always fulfilled, nobody could buy anything; although nothing was available, everybody had everything; even though people had everything, everybody was stealing to survive; although everybody was stealing, nothing was missing, ever.” There you have it, reality under communism. And it is already here in America in an incipient form.

I escaped this reality to come to freedom in America, the shining city on the hill, the example of generosity, hard work, excellent health care, outstanding education, and the opportunity to succeed. The problem is that this freedom no longer exists, other than freedom of the press and that is curtailed more and more by the day. Yes, you can speak freely but you are labeled a terrorist, a hatemonger, a racist, and, at worst, you lose your job, forever a pariah, joining the almost 100 million Americans out of work or on perennial welfare.

We’ve been so balkanized by entitled ethnic groups flooding our country who are forever insulted by our traditions or our Christianity and who have such vociferous and powerful lobbies in Washington, D.C., that we are being fast ethnically displaced and replaced by a third world population that refuses to learn English and assimilate, a backwards population that hates America but loves its generous welfare. The unwelcome guests are fast engulfing, overrun, and overwhelm the hosts, destroying them until there is nothing left to suck on but an empty exoskeleton blown by the wind into the dustbin of revisionist history.

We are no longer the protector and policeman of the world and the world is in utter chaos. The enemy is becoming bolder and stronger, occupying areas that we have spent years to free and sacrificed thousands of limbs and lives.

Our President tells us that our former archenemy, Russia, does not produce anything, yet we have to rent a chair on their space shuttle for $90 million if our astronauts are to fly to the International Space Station. Our wings have been clipped with the stroke of a presidential pen.

We have become the poor relative asking for handouts from the rich relative that we disdain. Russia’s cosmonauts are leading the space race now. It is not even a race anymore because we no longer have a race horse. It was mothballed in the museum of our former greatness.

The current regime thought that it was high time that we were cut down to size. We needed to be taught a lesson in poverty in order to experience what other poor people around the world struggle with every day. As if we arrived at our wealth and abundance overnight and never worked hard to achieve it.  Somehow we’ve stolen it from the poor countries around the world whom we've exploited.

We’ve been forced by our presidents to redistribute so much wealth to the national and international poor and downtrodden, our middle class has now become a refugee class in our own country, a class which is fast disappearing, displaced and replaced by hordes of ethnic groups alien to America. We are refugees from the war on the middle class, the war on prosperity waged furiously and rapidly by Congress and various regimes elected by the low information American and illegal immigrant voters who flooded our country but bring with them the hellholes they’ve escaped from.

We are too busy appeasing the Muslims who apparently, unbeknownst to us, have made so many contributions to the founding of America. Who knew that our Founding Fathers were Muslims? The President said in a recent speech, “In the United State, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”

Bob FitzSimmonds, the Virginia GOP treasurer, who posted a message on his Facebook page that questioned whether Muslim Americans have made positive contributions to U.S society, has resigned unapologetically. Finally someone has the courage to stand for the truth. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/va-gop-official-resigns-after-controversial-facebook-post/2014/08/07/d41fcec0-1ddd-11e4-82f9-2cd6fa8da5c4_story.html

World communism has been successful in oppressing and enslaving mankind because of “two species of ignorance –ignorance concerning the constitutional requirements needed to perpetuate freedom, and secondly, ignorance concerning the history, philosophy and strategy of World Communism.” (Leon Skousen, The Naked Communist, Izzard Ink LLC, Salt Lake City, 2014)

The Story of Ebola in Reston, Virginia

Ebola Reston

In October 1989 the community of Reston, Virginia went about their daily lives not realizing that a serious crisis was developing right in their back yards that would not be entirely resolved until March 1990. It was a serious calamity that could have wiped out the entire population. This dire emergency was described twenty years ago by Richard Preston in his non-fiction book, “The Hot Zone.” The “hot zone” refers to an “area that contains lethal, infectious organisms” also dubbed “hot agent,” an “extremely lethal virus, potentially airborne.” (Richard Preston, The Hot Zone, Random House, New York, 1994, p. 296)

The people in the book are real, two victims’ names have been changed, and the narrative and dialog were masterfully reconstructed from interviews and memories of those who participated in the crises.

Hazelton Research Products, a division of Corning, Inc. was importing and selling lab animals. On October 4, 1989, the monkey house called Reston Primate Quarantine Unit located not far from Leesburg Pike, received a shipment of one hundred crab-eating monkeys (a type of macaque) from the Philippines, caught on the island of Mindanao. Two of the monkeys were dead in their shipping crates. By first of November, 29 of the monkey were dead, most of them in Room F. The heating and air system had failed so it was assumed the deaths had occurred from ambient conditions.  Each night more macaques died. By November 16, a tentative diagnosis was given “simian hemorrhagic fever.”

Thomas Geisbert, an intern at the Institute discovered under his electron microscope the dreaded Ebola virus. Dr. Jahrling tested the virus cultures from the macaques against three known blood serums:

1.       Musoke (test for Marburg virus)

2.       Boniface (test for Ebola Sudan)

3.       Mayinga (test for Ebola Zaire)

The virus cultures glowed brightly against the Mayinga blood serum indicating that the monkeys in the Reston house died of Ebola Zaire strain, the deadliest of all filoviruses (Ebola).

The Institute is short for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. Its “mission is medical defense” with specialty in “drugs, vaccines, and biocontainment.”  The Institute’s Army and civilian personnel were instrumental in the containment of the Ebola Reston virus in Reston, Virginia monkey holding facility.

To contain the spread of Ebola Reston, the mutated strain of Ebola Zaire, the Army chose the bio-hazard operation of killing all the monkeys, bag them, incinerate their carcasses, and chemically clean and fumigate the building with formaldehyde gas. Their mission was to safeguard the population, euthanize the animals humanely (anesthetic, sedative, and a lethal drug), and gather samples for research from liver and spleen in order to identify the strain and how it traveled.  The entire operation was done in biohazard Level 4 suits. To a trained eye, the badly liquefied organs and tissues, the red eyes, frozen faces, and slacking muscles left no doubt that the monkeys died of Ebola. By December 7, 1989, four hundred and fifty monkeys were euthanized, some already very sick and some harboring the virus. (pp. 212-213)

Two monkey handlers got sick, one had a heart attack and another one was sent to the Fairfax Hospital with flu like symptoms and vomiting. For unknown reasons, although both had been exposed to the Ebola virus, neither had contracted Ebola.

After the three day decontamination, the building was turned back over from the Army custody to the Hazleton Research Products who bought more macaques from the Philippines from the same source in Manila. By middle January 1990, monkeys in Room C started to die with bloody noses. It was Ebola again from the Philippines, not Africa. The monkeys were destroyed and the company vacated the building.

According to Richard Preston, the disaster in that ‘building was a kind of experiment.’ “Now they would see what Ebola could do naturally in a population of monkeys living in a confined air space, in a kind of city, as it were. The Ebola Reston virus jumped quickly from room to room. … Ebola apparently drifted through the building’s air-handling ducts.” (pp. 251-252)

Strangely, an animal caretaker, “John Coleus,” who was doing a necropsy on a dead monkey, cut his thumb with a bloody scalpel, which is a major exposure to Ebola. Everyone expected him to die, but he never got sick. The virus entered his blood stream. The other two animal caretakers, however, did not cut themselves. The virus entered their bodies through “contact with lungs; everyone at USAMRIID concluded that Ebola can spread through the air.” (p. 254)

Peter Jahrling, who actually “whiffed the Ebola and lived to tell about it,” wondered, "Why is the Zaire stuff hot for humans? Why isn’t the Reston hot for humans, when the strains are so close to each other? The Ebola Reston virus is almost certainly transmitted by some airborne route. Those Hazleton workers who had the virus—I’m pretty sure they got it through the air.” (p. 257)

“Pictures of the lungs of a monkey infected with Ebola Zaire are fogged with Ebola. … You can see Ebola particles clearly in the air spaces of the lung,” said LTC Nancy Jaax, chief of pathology  at USAMRIID in 1989, a participant in the Reston biohazard operation.  (p. 260)

The four strains of Ebola filoviruses (string viruses) are: Marburg, Ebola Sudan, Ebola Zaire, and Ebola Reston. They are named for Ebola River, “a tributary of the Congo, or Zaire, River.” The most virulent of the viruses, the Zaire strain first appeared in September 1976 in 55 villages around the Ebola River. The kill rate is 90 percent.

Marburg

Charles Monet, after traveling to Kitum Cave on Mount Elgon (located between Uganda and Kenya), came down on January 8, 1980 with the Marburg virus and died in a Nairobi hospital on January 15, attended by Dr. Shem Musoke (the Marburg virus test is named after him).  Dr. Musoke came down with the Marburg virus nine days later. Dr. Musoke survived with no memory of his ordeal. He became a leading physician at the Nairobi Hospital with Dr. David Silverstein who saved his life and the lives of many others when he persuaded the Kenyan officials to shut down the Nairobi Hospital in order to prevent further infections. Vials of Musoke’s infected blood were sent to labs around the world. “The Marburg in his blood had come from Charles Monet’s black vomit and perhaps originally from Kitum Cave.  (pp. 32-33)

In 1987, a Danish boy called “Peter Cardinal” went by car on a summer trip with his family who wanted to show him “the beauty and sweetness of Kenya.” He got sick, turned black-and-blue with little red spots, red eyes, unable to breathe, and died of Marburg in spite of treatment at Nairobi Hospital by Dr. David Silverstein, the same doctor who saved Dr. Musoke’s life. “Peter Cardinal” had visited the same cave Charles Monet did, Kitum Cave on Mount Elgon. (pp. 90-96)

Marburg virus kills 25 percent of patients. Marburg is an African organism but was named after the German town Marburg because the virus erupted there first in 1967 in Behring Works, a producer of vaccines from kidney cells of African green monkeys imported from Uganda. The first reported victim was Klaus F. who fed the monkeys and washed their cages. He became ill on August 8, 1967 and died two weeks later. (p. 26)

Prior to the Klaus F. casualty, in the period of 1962-1965, there were unconfirmed reports of people and monkeys dying with symptoms of bleeding and a “peculiar skin rash” on the slopes of Mount Elgon in Eastern Uganda.

Red eyes, fever, uncontrolled vomiting of black blood, sloughing off intestinal tissues, fulminating liver failure, brain damage, veins bursting, and liquefaction of tissues are some of the horrendous symptoms of Ebola.

Richard Preston said that Marburg has an effect on humans as if they were exposed to radiation – connective tissues, intestines, skin are affected, hair dies at the root, radiation-like burns cause skin to peel off hands, faces, feet, and genitals, blown up or semi-rotten testicles. (p. 27)

Ebola virus is composed of seven different proteins, four of which are completely unknown, their structure and function are a mystery. Ebola is a distant relative of measles, mumps, and rabies, the parainfluenza virus, and the syncytial virus. Ebola attacks the immune system in a similar manner of HIV. (p. 46)

Ebola Zaire

The Mayinga strain of the Ebola Zaire came from a nurse working at a hospital in Zaire who cared for a Roman Catholic nun who died of Ebola. The young woman’s name was Mayinga N. The nun infected Mayinga when she bled all over her.  The twenty year old died of Ebola on October 19, 1976. (p. 54)

“No one caught the virus from nurse Mayinga, even though she had been in close contact with at least thirty-seven people and shared a bottle of soda pop with someone, and not even that person became ill.” (p. 89)

How infectious is Ebola Zaire? “Five or ten Ebola-virus particles suspended in a droplet of blood could easily slip through a pinhole in a surgical glove, and that might be enough to start an explosive infection.” (p. 63)

Ebola Zaire kills much of the host while it is still alive. It turns the inside of the body into “digested slime of virus particles,” “the collagen in the body turns to mush, and the underlayers of the skin die and liquefy.” The mouth bleeds, heart bleeds into itself, brain swells with dead blood cells and strokes, eyes fill up with blood, other orifices ooze blood, liver swells, turns yellow, liquefies, and cracks. Epileptic convulsions appear in the final stages. (pp. 72-75)

Karl Johnson, one of the discoverers of the Ebola Virus, said to the author, “A virus can be useful to a species by thinning it out.” (p. 83)

Ebola Zaire, twice as lethal as Ebola Sudan, was first mentioned in September 1976 in a region of northern Zaire called Bumba Zone in the vicinity of the Ebola River, but nobody knows who the first victim was.

A school teacher received an injection from the Yambuku Hospital with one of the five hypodermic syringes that were used to give shots to hundreds of people in the outpatient and maternity clinics. This teacher came down with Ebola Zaire a few days later. Nobody knows who the person was who received the shot right before the school teacher. Ebola erupted in 55 villages around the hospital, first in those who received shots and then in family members, particularly women who prepare the dead for burial. (p. 71)

Ebola Sudan

The first identified case, that later became Ebola Sudan and “nearly devastated the human population of southern Sudan,” was Mr. Yu. G., a storekeeper in a cotton factory in the town of Nzara. No one knows where he got the infection, the bats roosting in the ceiling of the room above his desk, trapped in cotton fibers, from rats, etc.  Two other men who worked with him died as well of Ebola. One individual known as P.G. passed Ebola to his alleged mistresses in town.

The hospital personnel of the Maridi hospital in Sudan exacerbated the infection by giving injections to many patients with the same dirty and infected needles.

The Ebola Sudan was twice as lethal as the Marburg strain with a 50 percent fatality. Richard Preston compared it to the death rate from the black plague. A few hundred people were killed in central Sudan and then the virus died out. (pp. 68-69)

Politics, Ebola, and Our National Health Safety

Rep. Nancy Pelosi walked across the House floor and, lacking any decorum, waved her finger at Rep. Tom Marino who was discussing the bill to fund the border invasion and the future chain migration that is sure to follow.

“Under the leadership of the former Speaker [Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader [Rep. Steny Hoyer], when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed. They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.” http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2014/08/pelosi-chases-republican-tom-marino-across-house-chamber/

The Dream Act, which was passed conveniently around election time 2012 and was presented disingenuously as a “courageous move and the will of the people,” and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), passed on June 15, 2012, are responsible for emboldening the current flood of illegal alien minors into the United States. Our government has prepared since January 2014 to receive such a flood by seeking employees to help with the dispersion around the country of adolescents with communicable diseases among our unsuspecting American citizens.

According to the inspector general’s report, [border] “agents have contracted everything from scabies and lice to chickenpox, including bringing the disease home to their own children, as they care for the unaccompanied minors.” The report said some illegal immigrants’ “unfamiliarity with bathroom facilities caused unsanitary conditions and exposure to human waste.”  http://nation.foxnews.com/2014/08/01/illegals-‘unfamiliarity-bathroom-facilities’-causing-problems

Besides TB, other respiratory diseases, and a potential Ebola outbreak, unscreened and non- quarantined illegal aliens can bring in diseases that can be spread through contact with unvaccinated children and infected individuals who do not wash their hands after using the bathroom or who discard used toilet tissue with fecal matter into waste baskets instead of flushing them.

-          Poliomyelitis (viral infection spread through the fecal-oral route)

-          Norovirus acute gastroenteritis (spread through food and water contaminated by fecal matter)

-          Giardiasis (a parasite transmitted via the fecal-oral route)

-          Hepatitis A (a virus spread by eating or drinking water contaminated with infected feces)

-          Hepatitis E (fecal oral transmission route)

-          Rotavirus (vaccination can prevent it in infants; it is contagious especially in infants and children)

-          Typhoid fever (caused by bacteria Salmonella; sick people and carriers have the bacteria in the digestive tract and in their feces; travelers are advised to be careful when going abroad)

-          Shigellosis or bacillary dysentery (caused by the Shigella bacteria spread through the fecal-oral route)

-          Cholera (an infection of the bacterium vibrio cholera which is transmitted through food and water contaminated with feces)

-          Cryptosporidiosis (a protozoan parasite spread through the fecal-oral route)

-          Ascariasis (round worm infection in young children, prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions where sanitation and hygiene are poor; not common in the U.S.)

Dr. Margaret Chan, the director-general of The World Health Organization (WHO) described the spread of Ebola as ‘catastrophic’ in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and now in Nigeria, carried by an individual on a flight. "If the situation continues to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic in terms of lost lives but also severe socio-economic disruption and a high risk of spread to other countries."  The $100 million response plan will deploy hundreds more health care workers.  http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/ebola-who-spread-fast/2014/08/02/id/586440#ixzz39GWowJI4

Although the Ebola virus was generally thought of as being spread through direct contact with bodily fluids, a 2012 experiment, which reported that macaques (primates) contracted Ebola from piglets inoculated oro-nasally with the Zaire strain of the Ebola virus (EBOV), while caged in the same room without physical contact, cannot be explained. http://www.nature.com/srep/2012/121115/srep00811/full/srep00811.html

In the middle of this serious Ebola outbreak, the U.S.-African Leaders Summit will be held August 4-6 in Washington, D.C.  Judi McLeod wrote, “While Obama is bringing African leaders into D.C. for a summit that can be scheduled any time, the Centers for Disease Control has issued a travel advisory warning travelers to avoid nonessential travel to affected countries.” http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/65007

Democrats are manipulating our political system and the law, posturing and bending the truth, in order to increase future voter rolls through family integration and chain migration, using illegal alien minors, bussed or flown from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras into the U.S. at taxpayer expense in order to spare the unpleasant coyote trek through Mexico of those crashing our borders illegally.

Our country is overwhelmed by manufactured crisis after manufactured crisis and by a depressed economy, an anemic GDP, almost 100 million Americans unemployed or on welfare, and now the potential threat to our national health safety. Veterans die from VA hospital neglect and we are rolling out the red carpet for the next wave of unscreened border jumpers from unknown locales, claiming real or fabricated refugee status.
