"Robbing" and the "War on Christmas"
Psychological projection
was described by Sigmund Freud as an immature “defense mechanism in which a
person unconsciously rejects his or her own unacceptable attributes by
ascribing them to objects or persons in the outside world.” (Sigmund Freud, Case Histories II, p. 132)
So it is that Democracy
for America, the progressive organizational arm of the Democrat Party,
agitating their voting constituents against the rest of the country, has sent out
a memo, accusing Republicans of waging a War on Christmas – “Well, this year
there is a real ‘War on Christmas;’ and it’s not being waged by the ACLU or the
Democratic (sic) Party.”
Chairman Jim Dean said, “This
year, the Republicans are playing Scrooge, robbing
1.3 million people across America of desperately needed unemployment benefits
right in the middle of the holiday season – and setting the stage for robbing millions more of the same
benefits later.”
What kind of “robbing” is
he talking about? He is talking about unemployment benefits that would not be
extended past December 28th when Congress goes on break -- if a
budget deal is not reached, “benefits will be completely cut off.”
Why don’t we have perennial
unemployment benefits? Why stop at 99 weeks and fight over further extensions?
The people affected by the
disastrous economic policies of the current administration who failed to create
meaningful jobs and turned our nation into a part-time nation with its Obama
Care, over-the-top spending, expensive green energy, war on fossil fuels, and small
business, coupled with an exploding welfare dependency, are going to be sent “scrambling
for income even as temporary holiday jobs disappear and more people find
themselves without work.”
Yet the Democrat Party and
its leadership blame Republicans for being heartless at Christmas and not
extending the 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, in a blatant attempt to cover
up the monumental economic failure of this administration that has caused unemployment
to deepen beyond imaginable levels, particularly among the young and recent college
graduates.
In spite of what Nancy
Pelosi said, a dollar paid in unemployment benefits or welfare does not create
prosperity in the economy.
Yes, Bill O’Reilly was
right, many liberals have stopped Americans from singing Christmas carols, from
displaying nativity scenes, decorating their yards, places of business, schools,
churches, public places, and have replaced the traditional “Merry Christmas”
with the lame “happy holidays,” under the guise that it offends their beliefs
or lack thereof.
Yes, it is convenient now
for liberals to say that Christmas is about family, community, generosity, and
lifting people up who are struggling and taking care of each other. What is
appalling is the fact that we did not have to experience such a situation if
the people in power on both sides did not create a nation of dependency, welfare,
and racial divisiveness where sloth and lack of work ethic are encouraged,
promoted through ads, and bought with more government freebies.
Enough with the handouts
and the give-me mentality, how about creating some real jobs and prosperity,
giving people hope and pride in a job well done, instead of giving false
narratives with every speech that the economy is doing well, or stoking class
warfare by maligning the “rich” who somehow “rob” from the “poor” and hoard the
money while the rest of us starve. Who believes this drivel?
The Democracy for America
memo ends with, “So this holiday season, let’s come together to tell
Republicans enough with the Scrooge act – end your ‘War on Christmas’ and give
millions of people the gift of financial security over the holidays.”
How about ending the
Democrat “War on the American Way of Life” and stop giving millions of people
the gift of one fish over the holidays. Why not teach unemployed Americans how
to fish for a lifetime, giving them the ability to feed themselves?
Why doesn’t Congress pass
a real budget and create real jobs instead of bogus “shovel ready” jobs that
never existed? Show compassion and care
by teaching people right from wrong, speak out against and punish the senseless
“Knockout” violence, and stop inciting racial and class hatred and divide? Do
it in the spirit of Christmas that you so conveniently promote now that it fits
your political interests and agenda.

Low Information Voters in the Information Age
As a former college teacher, I know why idealistic young
people vote with their hearts and not based on logic or with their pocketbooks.
They have yet to mature into serious tax paying adults.
They lack a solid economic education because they are no
longer required to take Economics classes in school and, if they do, are often
exposed the entire semester to endless graphs that contribute very little to
their understanding of how the economy works ; they are unable to put all the
puzzle pieces together, they just build beautiful graphs.
Young voters are easily duped and charmed by charismatic,
good-looking politicians who deliver scripted and articulate speeches devoid of
truth and logic.
They are naïve and idealistic, holding jobs that pay so
little that their meager contributions to society get lost in the economic translation.
They still don’t know how the economy works, where money
comes from, how it is created, who sets the interest rates, how international
trade is handled, or how the so-called Federal Reserve System’s fractional
reserve banking creates/prints money out of thin air to the detriment of their
pockets.
Once they graduate, after social promotions from grade to
grade by those pushing affirmative action, or by those under pressure to
justify standardized test scores tied to budgeting, they are not ready for real
life prime time.
They are taught by the Common Core curriculum to feel and
not think logically, to be community organizers from first grade, and to be
angry in order to obtain “social justice.” They are told it’s fine to be wrong
in math as long as they can justify their wrong answers and feel good about it.
They receive undeserved awards for participation even if they
walk across a stage without tripping. They are told so many times, they are
special, that they begin to believe it and make no effort to achieve anything.
Collectivism is good, individualism and creativity,
thinking outside the box, and achieving exceptionalism are bad labels.
The media and the police treat terrorist attacks on
people by underage racist psychopaths with no capacity for remorse or ability
to discern right from wrong as a game, euphemistically calling it the “Knockout
Game.” These are people who are going to vote at some point.
The deliberate dumbing down of education driven by
teachers and administrators with a liberal political agenda and by the National
Education Association, a union that makes it impossible to fire bad teachers, graduates
many Americans who are unprepared and primed for failure.
Public school teachers, mentors placed on unshakable
pedestals, come from the ranks of the weakest college students – they would be
very hard pressed to pass some of the tests their students are taking; without
an answer key, they would be lost.
Relaxing and lowering the standards of education to the
lowest denominator for political reasons and self-esteem has been driven by a
symbiotic relationship between the College of Education and the Department of
Education who formulate the curriculum in education.
Fear of lawsuits and physical attacks from students and
parents force many teachers to pass students who would otherwise fail multiple
classes. The threat of contract non-renewal or firing by the administration if
teachers fail undeserving students is also a real issue.
Many teachers are now forced, including via the onerous
Common Core, to emphasize self-esteem over competition, the collective over
individual achievement. Virginia Beach elementary schools are getting rid of
the Honor Roll and the principal’s list. Why let achievement and hard work harm
the self-esteem of lazy students? http://hamptonroads.com/2013/11/virginia-beach-elementary-schools-ditching-honor-roll
Parents no longer teach their kids a solid work ethic,
pride in personal achievement, and shame of failure. They protest and threaten
law suits if Johnny does not cut the grade, it must be the racist teacher’s
fault.
Apathetic parents are no longer involved in their
children’s education, abdicating their jobs to government strangers who mold
and influence their kids’ future.
Scandal after scandal of overt corruption and lawlessness
overwhelm low information voters who depend on comedians to get their news and
information. It is too tiresome to process the deliberate manufactured crisis
after crisis. They lose track easily because their minds are on cruise control,
sharply focused on texting or the latest social media game.
There is no interest in real history because textbooks
reconstruct events and historical documents, often replacing them with the
latest liberal drivel masked as authoritative scholarship.
The government indoctrination in schools is evident in
the many president-worshipping videos on the web and the communist and “social
justice” written assignments given in different grades.
Few teach about pride in America’s achievement, history,
and generosity, accomplishments that have lifted billions out of poverty and
misery, giving Europeans freedom from Nazi oppression and a free economic fresh
start.
Three free meals a day in school, free housing, day care,
food, health care, Obama phones, and utilities have created a generational
welfare dependency and complacency that does not involve patriotism or love for
one’s country, just worship of government.
Adults are overwhelmed. There is too much information,
too many sources, and inadequate time. People lack the patience or the ability
to discern what is reliable and what is unreliable. Too much information does
not necessarily lead to thinking that leads to an informed opinion.
Why wouldn’t 50 percent of Americans care about what is
happening to their country and to themselves? Lulled by a false sense of
security, by welfare derived from negative income taxes and earned income tax credits,
the low information class votes for more freebies, more enslavement to a
government that only cares about its citizens’ blind voting allegiance.
Liberal Worship Fest of Mandela
Oh, for crying out loud, liberals, stop with the worship fest of Mandela! Stop giving him Messianic qualities he did not possess. There is only one Messiah.
He was not a man of peace! He did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize! Search "Winnie Mandela necklacing" and see what this man and his wife Winnie did to their fellow Black South Africans.
"He was the President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Prior to his Presidency, Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years at three different prisons after pleading guilty to 156 acts of public violence including the Johannesburg railway station bombing. He was also a member of the South African Communist Party and a co-founder of Umkhonto we Sizwe, a guerrilla warfare group declared a terrorist organization by the United State in the 1960s."
Here's a very good description from Jonathon Moseley's posting on Facebook:
He was not a man of peace! He did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize! Search "Winnie Mandela necklacing" and see what this man and his wife Winnie did to their fellow Black South Africans.
"He was the President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was also a member of the South African Communist Party and a co-founder of Umkhonto we Sizwe, a guerrilla warfare group declared a terrorist organization by the United State in the 1960s."
Here's a very good description from Jonathon Moseley's posting on Facebook:
"Not many leaders have invented a new way of killing political enemies in a gruesome and painful way. NELSON MANDELA and his wife invented "necklacing" -- using a car tire filled with gasoline put around a political enemy's neck -- and set on fire. Now, we are talking about Blacks who did not obey Winnie Mandela and her gang among Blacks -- not White racists. SO NATURALLY NELSON MANDELA IS BELOVED ...AND CELEBRATED BY LIBERALS. Totalitarian leaders are always popular with liberals and the American news media. I don't think the Mandela clan killed any Whites. I could be wrong. But they sure killed thousands of Blacks. Adolf Hitler invented gas chambers. The Romans invented crucifixion. And Nelson Mandela joins the ranks of great liberal heroes with his invention of NECKLACING.
NELSON MANDELA dies peacefully in his bed -- UNLIKE THE THOUSANDS VIOLENTLY TORTURED AND MURDERED (mostly fellow Blacks) by the extremely violent Mandela movement. Now Mandela can face JUDGEMENT DAY and be confronted with the thousands his movement slaughtered, tortured, and murdered."

She's Too Old for an MRI under ObamaCare
It is not easy to find a
doctor who takes Medicare in our area. When we found one that did, mom accepted
him, no questions asked, based on his sweet, smiling demeanor. I was not so
easily convinced. Call me from the Show Me State if you’d like.
If IPAB denies treatment, there is no appeal because IPAB is only accountable to President Obama. The courts or Congress cannot override that decision. At least under private health care insurance, if you are denied treatment, you have an appeal process in place to defend your ability to have treatment paid by your insurance plan.
We arrived for our dual
appointments - there was nobody in the waiting room so we waited just a few
minutes before we were taken to the same examining room. The nurse came, very polite,
took our information on her laptop and left, and we waited and waited. Finally,
mom’s favorite smiling doctor showed up with his laptop in tow.
He told us his office was
one hundred percent compliant with the Obama Care electronic patient portals. We
could not have cared less about his electronic compliance. Without touching her,
he made mom walk back and forth to see what her right-leaning gait looked like.
He determined that she needed a rolling walker because she probably had a mini
stroke at some point when the gait commenced. He was not going to order an MRI
because she is too old and Obama Care will not approve payment.
He did not touch her on
the previous visit either when she fell but had not broken anything; she was in
severe pain and covered in ugly, deep bruises. He did not order any x-rays then
because she did not seem to be in terrible pain, he said. Mom is stoic and put
up a good front in the doctor’s office; she lingered in bed for three months,
healing from the awful fall she took outside in the grass.
I complained of a terrible
earache and a sinus infection. From three feet away, without touching me, he shined
a flashlight into my throat, typed something into his laptop and told us that
he will order our meds into the system which is connected directly to the
pharmacy. We paid for the visit and drove to the nearest apothecary.
The prescriptions were not
there just as I had feared. The doctor’s office had closed for the day and the
pharmacist could not call to check where in cyberspace was the order trapped
for meds that we both needed right away. On the positive side, at least the
meds are available for now, rationing in pharmaceuticals has not begun yet.
As all these computers
communicate with each other through the various electronic portals, do not
expect any medical privacy or cyber security of any kind. Your entire life’s
history, health, meds, warts, skin lesions, bunions, surgeries, hospitalizations,
Social Security numbers, income, addresses, smoking history, salt intake, soda
drinking and fat-eating habits, sexual preferences, gun ownership, and biometric
data are up for grabs for all to see and use. All your private medical history
and information will be sent to a clearing house with or without your permission
in January 2014. That’s worse than some medical transcriptionist overseas
threatening to make everyone’s medical records public if she does not get a
raise.
Obama Care is not just
very expensive insurance that most of us cannot and will not afford without
drastic changes in lifestyle. It delivers lousy service, uncaring and poorly
paid doctors, inadequate reimbursement, longer wait times, and selective
rationing.
For people 65 and older,
doctors who will accept Medicare and Medicaid will be harder to find and
specialists even harder. These patients will be forced into a second class medical
care akin to what I’ve witnessed growing up under socialist nationalized health
care.
When more and more people
will be forced into Medicaid and Medicare, costs will escalate and so will taxes
to support care for 30 million more patients who were previously without
insurance.
Because there are no
eligibility requirements in place, Illegal aliens and those seeking asylum with
a certain religious bent will receive free care ahead of the line based on age,
increasing wait time and reducing the amount of money available for the
treatment of American citizens.
The Independent Payment
Advisory Board (IPAB) will have to cut costs by approving or disallowing
medical services based on how expensive they are, the age of the patient, and utility
to society. Rationing will become an important factor in the quality, quantity,
and expedience of our medical care.
If IPAB denies treatment, there is no appeal because IPAB is only accountable to President Obama. The courts or Congress cannot override that decision. At least under private health care insurance, if you are denied treatment, you have an appeal process in place to defend your ability to have treatment paid by your insurance plan.
If Medicare denies medical
care, the patient is not allowed to pay cash to a Medicare-contracted doctor,
hospital, or other health provider. Under such circumstances, a patient can seek
care from an independent doctor or hospitals, which are harder and harder to
find, or look for treatment outside of the United States.
It is foreseeable that by
2015, most private plans will be gone, replaced by a single-payer IRS/HHS government-run
insurance.

Appeasement and Redistribution of Wealth
From Pope Pius XII, the
much beloved, anti-communist and anti-Nazi Pope, to the current overtly
socialist Pope Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Catholic Church, the
church has undergone a lot of changes.
In his recently penned 224-page
document, The Joy of the Gospel (Evangelii Gaudium), Pope Francis criticized
the following.
-
The current capitalist inequalities
(Were
socialism and communism ever equal, inclusive, kind to the people, and fair?
No, there were two classes, the haves, composed of communist party apparatchiks
and the have-nots, composed of the proletariat.)
-
“The idolatry of money”
(Who
pays for the salaries of priests and the maintenance of the churches around the
world for its 1.5 billion Catholics? The Holy See is quite flush with cash and
wealthy beyond belief if you consider thousands of priceless works of art, marble
statues, gold and silver icons, urns, crucifixes, chalices, and marble cathedrals
around the world. Should they not follow their own direction and distribute all
this vast wealth to the poor?)
-
“The inequality that spawns violence”
(Were
violence and wars around the world borne by economic inequality or were there
other reasons such as religion, land disputes, drug cartels, plundering, and
natural resources such as oil, gold, coal, diamonds, silver, and power and
control conquests?)
-
“Trickle-down economics” as a theory that “expresses a crude and naïve trust
in the goodness of those wielding economic power.”
The Washington Post immediately
included the papal criticism in its editorial and pointed out that Democrats
and liberals have rejected the “trickle-down economics” theory and used the phrase
derisively to define it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/pope-francis-denounces-trickle-down-economic-theories-in-critique-of-inequality/2013/11/26/e17ffe4e-56b6-11e3-8304-caf30787c0a9_story.html
“The phrase has often been used derisively to
describe a popular version of conservative economic philosophy that argues that
allowing the wealthy to run their businesses unencumbered by regulation or taxation
bears economic benefits that lead to more jobs and income for the rest of
society. Liberals and Democratic officials have rejected the theory, saying it
is contradicted by economic evidence.”
As a matter of fact, “trickle-down
theories which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will
inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the
world,” have been proven correct.
There is a good reason why
the United States citizens have done so well economically as opposed to
centralized, socialist, and communist countries where indescribable poverty is
rampant while the ruling, tyrannical elite live luxuriously at the expense of
the masses. Even the poorest of the poor in the United States live far better
than the rest of the world because capitalism works.
The Latin American Pope
from Buenos Aires lamented that the masses are still waiting for “social
justice.” United States is one of the first countries in the world to donate
and help the poor and others when tragedy strikes and Americans give generously
of their wealth, time, and expertise. “Social
justice” is an entirely different manufactured creature.
According to Gen. Pacepa, the
Soviet communist-led idea of “social justice” was infiltrated successfully by
the KGB into Latin America’s Catholic Church as a religious movement called “liberation
theology.” The goal was to “incite Latin America’s poor to rebel against the ‘institutionalized
violence of poverty’ generated by the United States.” (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D. C., WND
Books, Inc., 2013, chapter 15, p. 106)
What kind of “social
justice” are the masses waiting for when pining for socialism and communism?
They are waiting to vote again and again for the same individuals and the same socialist
or communist governments that brought them to the brink of poverty and kept
them perennially downtrodden. They are waiting for socialist governments to
give them welfare and free minimal health care through Castro clinics while
they stay home and procreate more dependents. They are waiting for the
redistribution of wealth from productive citizens. They are enslaved to their governments
who decide their daily lives yet they are told it is the United States’ fault.
Robert Spencer wrote an article around the Pope’s
statement that “Authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed
to every form of violence.”
The following is an excerpt from paragraph
253 of the papal document: …“We Christians should embrace with affection and
respect Muslim immigrants to our countries in the same way that we hope and ask
to be received and respected in countries of Islamic tradition. I ask and I
humbly entreat those countries to grant Christians freedom to worship and to
practice their faith, in light of the freedom which followers of Islam enjoy in
Western countries! Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism,
our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalisations,
for authentic Islam and the
proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”
http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/francesco/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20131124_evangelii-gaudium_en.pdf
The Christian victims of
jihad violence in Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria carried out daily by
Muslims who use the Koran to explain the burning of churches and the killing of
innocents certainly contradict his Holiness.
Based on prior history, we
know neither appeasement nor reverse psychology works; on the contrary, appeasement
creates war and more violence.
Robert Spencer explained that “The Bishop of Rome, by virtue of his
position as successor of St. Peter, can, according to Catholic teaching, speak
authoritatively about Catholic doctrine: he has the authority to delineate what
is authentic Catholicism. This, however, is a statement about "authentic
Islam." It would be interesting to know how he came to this conclusion,
since the Pope of Rome has no counterpart within the Islamic world: there is no
Muslim authority to which he can appeal in order to discover what ‘authentic
Islam’ consists of, and many Muslim authorities would disagree with his
statement that ‘authentic Islam’ is opposed to every form of violence." http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/11/pope-francis-authentic-islam-and-the-proper-reading-of-the-koran-are-opposed-to-every-form-of-violen.html
The Washington Post writer
Reza Aslan stated in his November 30, 2013 column on faith, “If you don’t like
the Pope, you won’t care much for Jesus.” That is because Jesus, he said, “is
advocating a chilling new reality in which the rich will be made poor, the
strong will become weak, and the powerful will be displaced by the powerless.”
Following this redistributive logic, sloth should be rewarded while enterprise
punished.
Pope Pius XII, the
anti-communist and anti-Nazi Pope, saved many Jews and ethnic groups from
pogroms. He was the voice of the Catholic Church to protest against Hitler’s
attack on the Jews, the Polish people, and on the prisoners in the
concentration camps.
He even used Castel
Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer home, to shelter thousands of refugees. In fact, “his personal bedroom was converted
into a nursery and birthing area, and about forty babies were born there during
the war.” The World Jewish Congress estimated that 860,000 Jews were saved by
the Catholic Church and the work of Pope Pius XII. (Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, Disinformation, Washington, D.C., WND
Books, Inc., 2013, p. 66, as quoted from the testimony of P. Guglielmo Hentrich
before the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Rome)
Would the current Pope Francis
succeed in “nudging” the Catholic Church into the direction of Latin America’s
brand of “social justice” complete with wealth redistribution?

Is Health Care A Fundamental Human Right or a Service?
How many Americans believe
that health care is a fundamental human right? How many Americans believe that
it is just a service that must be paid for just like any other service? Good doctors
and nurses who train a long time and invest a lot of money in their education
expect to be paid well for their expertise and unique skills.
Respectable hospitals cannot
operate on the basis of a “fundamental human right,” invented by “progressives,”
somebody must pay for health care. Life-saving medical equipment and drugs are expensive.
There is a reason why the
best medical care, equipment, drugs, and doctors in the world exist in
capitalism and not in socialist countries. Individual thinking, creativity, and
entrepreneurship rewarded by profit have improved our lives and our health. Collectivism
resulted in the death of 100 million individuals. Developing each drug cost at
least $950 million and researchers and investors expect to be paid for their financial
risks, research, and ideas.
Americans have always
supported the development of life-saving expensive drugs which were then sold
to other nations for much less than we paid at home or were given away for free.
Americans have thus subsidized the medical treatment of citizens of many
nations.
Hospitals have charged
patients with insurance more to cover expenses for those who did not, could not
pay their bills, or had no insurance, such as illegal aliens. Quite a few smaller
hospitals have closed their doors for that reason alone.
It is true, some people who
get sick and have no health care can die. It is also true that without food people
also die. Is food then a “fundamental human right?” Someone must toil so that
somebody else eats for free?
If you ask “progressives,”
everything should be free and nobody should make a profit because profit is “obscene
and socially unjust.” Yet taxation from capitalist profit and from income
earned supports able-bodied Americans and illegal aliens who choose not to work,
work undocumented, or cannot find a job thanks to the current depressed economy.
At some point the golden goose is going to run out of golden eggs. As Margaret
Thatcher said, the problem with socialism is that you run out of other people’s
money.
Public Citizen, in a
recent fund raising memo asking potential donors for $5, says that Obamacare’s
problem is not the broken website (the obscene development cost of $693 million,
all the lies and misrepresentations of premium costs, keeping your doctors, keeping
your insurance, lower premiums, etc.), the problem is that “we spend more on
health care per person, by far, than any other developed country, yet millions
and millions of our citizens are left without insurance, leading to 45,000
preventable deaths every year.”
The statement is not exactly
accurate. A study of 9,005 individuals who answered questions about race,
ethnicity, income, and household size was reported in December 2009 in the
American Journal of Public Health. These respondents self-evaluated their
health and were examined by doctors. The study “oversampled several groups,
including Black persons, Mexican Americans, the very young (aged 2 months to 5
years) and those aged older than 65 years.”
Based on sound scientific
research, the study contains numerous biases and is hardly a representative sampling
of the uninsured U.S. population.
The study concludes, “Lack
of health insurance is associated with
as many as 44,789 deaths per year in the United States, more than those caused
by kidney disease.” Notice the use of the word “associated with,” it does not say “caused” death. There is a
significant difference. http://www.pnhp.org/excessdeaths/health-insurance-and-mortality-in-US-adults.pdf
The very idea that medical
insurance guarantees prompt, timely, excellent medical care, health, and a good
outcome (life), is preposterous.
The fact that socialized
medicine does cause severe shortages and forces rationing to reduce costs, thus
causing patient deaths by neglect and denial of services seems to escape those
who are so eager to institute socialized medicine in this country.
The CDC does say that
200,000 deaths per year from heart disease and stroke are preventable.
http://www.cdc.gov/vitalsigns/heartdisease-stroke/index.html
The NIH says that preventable
causes of death in the U.S. are associated with diet, lifestyle, and metabolic
rate. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19399161
Obamacare has already left
millions of formerly insured Americans uninsured because the law mandates many
more services that insurance companies cannot cover without raising premiums or
dropping those already insured. It is simple economics, something that liberals
must have slept through in high school and college.
At the end of the full
implementation of Obamacare more Americans will be left without insurance coverage
or dependent on Medicaid than the initial 15 percent who were uninsured before Obamacare
was passed.
Most Americans were
satisfied with their excellent health care, the envy of the rest of the world,
and their insurance. About 15 percent were uninsured, young people who chose to
play insurance roulette based on age, good health, a sense of immortality, and
those unfortunate Americans who could not afford the higher premiums based on
their low incomes, pre-existing conditions, and those who were canceled by
their insurance.
A cheaper solution would
have been to offer federally subsidized insurance to those 15 percent who were
uninsured. It would have been much cheaper than Obamacare.
Public Citizen considers
the situation outrageous that capitalism “still permits the for-profit health
insurance industry to decide who can or cannot see a doctor and to commodify a
fundamental human right.”
Who should then decide?
The federal government, of course, because they do everything else so precisely.
Government care worked really well in Cuba, Venezuela, and Eastern Europe where
socialist/communist governments decided who got medical care, what type, how
much training doctors had, how much they could earn, where they could practice
medicine, how much rationing occurred, who lived and died, and how well the
communist elites were treated in their private hospitals.
Public Citizen is telling
the low information voters that “Our citizens need – and morality demands – a single-payer,
Medicare-for-All system.” Who knew that morality demanded health care? And who
decides the definition of morality? Is it the government or the enlightened “progressives”?
Obamacare was never about
insuring the 15 percent uninsured, it was about control over our bodies, about
impoverishing and making dependent on government those already insured,
bankrupting the insurance companies, and establishing one national single-payer
system run by the IRS and HHS. What can possibly go wrong with such a plan?
“Helping people when they
are sick or injured should not be an industry, like manufacturing lint rollers
or windshields,” says Public Citizen. Yet the national health care system in
the U.K. is the largest employer. It seems to me that it is an industry, an
industry that is run very badly, in which severe rationing occurs and procedural
waiting time for ER admissions, tests, hospitalizations, and surgeries is very
long. The survivability rate from all forms of cancer is much lower than in the
U.S.
Nationalized health care
works well for sniffles but not for serious problems, expensive procedures, and
surgery. One-payer system is very expensive and requires much higher taxes than
Americans currently pay.
Public Citizen promises
its $5 donors that “it will derail attempts to cut Medicare.” That will be
interesting to see especially since the Obama administration is cutting $719
billion from Medicare in the next 10 years in order to fund Obamacare.
Public Citizen is working
with Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, and
Representative John Conyers to “boost legislative momentum for single-payer
reform.” The plan is called “Medicare-for-All.” It will ensure every American’s
basic right to health care, saving 45,000 lives every year” and “saving our
country $350 billion or more annually.” I am not sure how they arrived at this
figure but it does not matter, low information voters are easy to convince.
Unless single-payer
Medicare-for-All happens, said the President of Public Citizen, our society
cannot “progress out of this dark chapter in our national story where we allow
120 of our fellow citizens to die every day so that for-profit insurance
industry can perpetuate its profiteering.”
I wonder how many people
will die once the full implementation of Obamacare happens and the 15-member death
panel is in full force. How many people will be denied procedures based on
their age, usefulness to society, disability, political affiliation, ethnicity,
religion, and race?
According to Heritage
Foundation, Obamcare’s new exchanges actually offer very limited choices,
premiums are more expensive for Americans in at least 42 states, and the Congressional
Budget Office (CBO) projects that 7 million people with employer-sponsored
coverage will lose their insurance due to Obamacare.
“Obamacare undermines
American values by discouraging marriage and work.” Worse yet, Obamacare
prioritizes illegal aliens over American citizens and able-bodied adults over
the disabled. Legal, non-citizen residents qualify for federally subsidized
insurance with more and better coverage options than American citizens.
(Morning Bell, The Heritage Foundation, November 27, 2013)
States that expanded
Medicaid programs will automatically enroll in Medicaid Americans with incomes
under 138 percent of the federal poverty level. But non-citizens will have better options via
federal subsidies to purchase coverage in the Obamacare exchanges.
To make matters worse, in
some states, when a person who received lengthy medical treatment under
Medicaid dies, the state goes after the remaining spouse’s assets in order to
reimburse Medicaid.
States that did not expand
Medicaid programs will offer non-citizens the option to purchase subsidized
insurance in the exchanges, while American citizens below 100 percent of the
poverty level will likely not qualify for subsidized coverage. (Morning Bell,
The Heritage Foundation, November 27, 2013)
Obamacare will spend $700
billion on Medicaid expansion in order to cover able-bodied individuals,
millions of unemployed and underemployed, threatening coverage for disabled
Americans, and creating a permanent class that has no financial incentive to
work.
These people will become
permanently dependent on government for every need. The sad truth is that what
government gives generously, it can certainly take away. All we have to do is
look at the sad state of Greece. Many citizens must depend on charities for
serious medical treatment or face death.
